NPMG is responsive and willing to work with you when issues come up. Our only issues were with the owner and her lack of follow through.

I’ve had a few interactions with this group over the past few months and each time has seemed a little shady. The properties I viewed were really, really dirty. The upkeep on the properties was definitely lacking, the representative hosting the showing was little to no help when we had questions, and it seems super shady that you can never actually speak to anyone directly over the phone– like it’s not even an option. E-​mail responses have been pretty unprofessional (as attested to in some of the responses to comments here). Rental applications include a section for you to provide your checking account and routing number– which is not needed to verify your credit, so I’m not sure why they are requesting it. When I inquired, they said I could leave that section blank– so if it’s not required for validation purposes, why are they even requesting it? What kind of operation charges you a fee to pay your rent? (I know, I’m not «in the business,» but you’re renting houses to people who need to rent houses, not to other people who rent houses, so your operation should reflect an appreciation for those needs, not your own.) It’s too bad, because many of the properties have potential, they just seem really poorly managed by a pretty shady operation. I would not recommend.
Update: The owner also seems like a crazy person.

I would never use them if I wasn’t forced to. You pay a fee to pay your rent online every month, you can’t mail it or pay from your bank account. You can never call them, only email. Very annoying!

I only have good things to say about the people at National Property. I needed a place to rent quickly and they found a beautiful, clean, affordable house for me in an awesome neighborhood! It is exactly what I was looking for and it was ready for me right on schedule! They handled everything in professional manner and I will definitely recommend them to my friends and family in the future!

Hiring Rent KC Now is a COMPLETE WASTE OF YOUR MONEY!
We hired Leslie to manage the rental of our single family home. Since signing the contract it is nearly impossible to get more than a text message from her. She found renters rather quickly. When they moved in she did not attend the walk-​thru and we received requests that things were dirty or broken that were absolutely not true. (As evidenced by when I try to confirm scheduling those work items, Leslie responds that they’re no longer needed.) She forwards us emails from the renters regarding maintenance requests with little to no detail and cannot offer any further explanation. Then proceeds to take 30 — 60 days to send out someone to fix the items. I have now been waiting for 3 months to get receipts for things we have paid for and invoices to find out what we paid for.
Keep your money and just call a handyman to do the maintenance yourself. At least that way it will get done. At this point it would be easier for me to talk to the renter directly than go thru Rent KC Now, they are useless.
Let me add that in recent events it’s gone from bad to worse, she is unprofessional: not returning phone calls, wanting to hold conversations via text because she’s driving, speaking louder to talk over me rather than waiting until I’ve finished a sentence/​question, not scheduling repairs with vendors and telling them «we have bigger problems now». She cannot follow chain of events in repairs and I have remind her where to find contact info for vendors and continue to request receipts for work completed.
To quote a previous reviewer: I’m amazed she gets anything done.
Use caution in relying on the BBB rating. When we filed a complaint, the response we received from BBB: «We can not handle the complaint because you have entered a mutually beneficial financial agreement with a business partner.»
Just look at all the other reviews of her business, 1 star on every single review post. (Except for the review she posted about herself to inaccurately inflate their rating.) I have also spoke with my tenants and they THANKED us for canceling our contract with Leslie because: «every time we called them with anything the gal was always VERY rude to us and took FOREVER to respond to any questions we had!»
