VooDoo Rooftop Nightclub & Lounge

The 3*** that I am giving are for the view only which is truly phenomenal!!! Other than that music is just ok, and drinks disappoint. We got the huge pink dry ice drink for $ 37 which was too sweet to our liking but we finished it anyhow lol. None of us even felt light buzz from it, which is strange, considering all the things they put in it, won’t order it again.
Seating is a real pain: 3 seats inside club and 0 on the roof-​deck outside, unless you booked a VIP tables. Music is ok, mix of everything: old school and now. There’s a dress code, but night we went there (friday), people wore really average stuff, flip flops and shorts so I am not sure how strict they are.
Seems not to be a place that young crowd go to, mostly middle age ++, at least that night.
We paid $ 30 cover charge, that included lift ride and no line admission.
Won’t visit again, better clubs out there for sure!
ps. If you want view, add little extra money and get helicopter ride instead ;)

This place sucks if your looking for good music and having a nice club experience! The only good thing was a great view of the strip to take pictures

Thur night. Bad, view great, dead. Waist of time. Even though gentleman at elevator said it is happening. And we live in Nevada, wife ID just showed name age. Mine showed address and still charged her. Not honest at all. Again it was dead!

LOVE LOVE LOVE, was here on Saturday night and had a BLAST. DJ was amazing! Even offered his jacket to a friend of mine cause it was so freaking cold outside. Everyone there had great attitudes and was having a great ass time. Went to the light club and had a horrible time. Voodoo DEFINITELY made up for it.
You guys made my bachelorette party so much fun!

We are on the rooftop. There is pounding music. Its late… roaring thunder and lightening. Cigar smoke heavy even though we are outside. My friend screams with excitement after some liquid courage, «lets take down some mother hens!!»
This is a great spot for an older crowd… older by Vegas standards. 30 years old is what I am talking. So many of the most trendy clubs are so heavy on the just-​turned-​21 crowd that a guy my age just doesn’t feel at home at such places.
The outdoor space is just breathtaking. You are just far enough from the strip that you can see it perfectly. Indoors have a more intimate feel and windows surround the whole club as the whole kidney bean shaped floor is designated to Voodoo Lounge.
My friend did encounter one noteworthy mother hen: a young 21 year old girls mother. Again, this is a place where 20 to 40 year olds just blend in with the walls.

This was a great location on top of the Rio. We used a Groupon that included the zipline and a 2 for 1 drink — not too bad. Club was a bit under-​crowded, but the songs were excellent and we were on top of the strip! Not great lighting for pictures though.

My friends were staying at the Rio and got one of those discount coupon books when they checked in. Inside was a voucher for free admission for up to 4 people for VooDoo. We decided to check it out Saturday night 3÷27÷16. VooDoo is a steakhouse but also a nightclub.
We arrived around 11pm. The entry line was short but slow moving. Once we got through the ID check and our hands stamped, we went up the elevator 51 stories. When you first walk in it’s a lounge type area with a bar and some tables, but then when you walk outside that is where the Dj was playing and people were dancing. When we arrived it was pretty dead, not reminiscent of any other clubs I had been to before, but this was cool since we got to take some rooftop pics. After a while it started to fill up and was really crowded. The drinks were flowing and the music got louder. Only then did it start to feel like a nightclub-​just a really small one.
They do have bottle service if you are into that. It’s pretty cool cause you can sit outside and take in the views. On this particular night the weather was amazing. It wasn’t too warm, it wasn’t too cold, it was just right. There was a bar outside and we ordered drinks. The bartender hooked us up with Patron margaritas for $ 14 each. This drink got me feeling goooood, it was really strong. Then a little while later we were hanging out inside, and we ordered margaritas and they made them with Jose Cuervo, and those drinks were $ 26 each? I am still confused as to how thing happened, but I am not complaining. All in all we had a good time and I would say this is a fun place to check out. My friends were both really drunk after that, so we didn’t end up going anywhere else. Lightweights! I dont think I would come out of my way to come back here, unless it was to show someone. I think if you are staying at the Rio you should check it out. There are certainly better clubs in town though.

Rooftop view was amazing and the lounge with live music was great. Quick elevator ride going up/​down. There is no dress code. It’s 21 and over. You’ll notice locals and tourists from around the world here. There’s a $ 10.00 cover charge if you are not a Rio guest but it’s well worth it for the amazing view and fun atmosphere.

The best experience in Vegas! I can go on and on about this place! The live DJ was the best, he played a little bit of everything and some great mixes! The Lounge/​club had the best feel– it was so alive, and the drinks were sooooo great! I had The Witches Brew, a mixed drink the size of your head with about 10 shots inside. It was amazing! The bartender even gave us a show! I love this place, and I can’t wait to come back!

ENTRY
Line wasn’t too long to get in on a Sunday at 10pm. I almost always avoid places with cover charges, but I wasn’t charged as a guest of Rio. They should let you up for free… and then charge $ 10 for the 51 floor elevator ride down.
CLUB
The inside of the club has a purple glow that feels very 90s, very Night at the Roxbury (EMILIO!!!), but the obvious appeal is the rooftop patio with the view of Las Vegas, fifty-​one floors up. Being on a roof in Vegas is the only reason to be at Voodoo, right? Nobody would go to VooDoo on a rainy night. Except maybe Ben Franklin.
CLIENTELE
Nobody was too formal. Only a few girls got hoed up. I guess you could say it is Casual Ho. Surprisingly low douchebag count. And nobody wearing blazers (except maybe one of two foreigners who may have mistaken this for the hotspot it may have been in the 90s). I was a bit shocked to see a pair of schlubs in their mid-​50s in beige T-​shirts and shorts allowed in, but I don’t want to be a snob. (I was in Levis and Darth Vader vans, so.)
DRINKS
I don’t need dry ice in my drinks. I’m an adult. (Don’t look at my shoes). A Tito’s and Cranberry will do fine. I don’t really need the bartender to flip the alcohol over his shoulder, under his arm, across his armpit, bunnyhop over the elbow, over the river and through the woods, heads shoulders knees and toes knees and toes. But whatever. At least Corrie had a heavier pour than the others. I couldn’t help but think of the amount of liquor spilled during that performance. At least they should dedicate it to our homies.
PRICE
Two drinks run $ 28.12. The twelve cents was annoying. Nobody wants a pocketful or purse full of change. Just make it $ 28 even. Pennies don’t belong in a nightclub. They are the coin equivalent of 55 yr olds in beige shirts and cargo shorts. No change! If they were smart, they’d have a big Plinko board that empties into a tip jar.
DANCE FLOOR/​DJ
Though the dance floor is naturally assumed to be in the middle of the deck, in between the bland, dark bar and the lit up DJ area, surrounded by booths roped off to the general public, the lack of designated dance floor is actually a good thing because you can stand on the «dance floor» or dance off the dance floor (in other words, stand where they dance or dance where they stand) and not feel out of place. The DJ, playing a healthy dose of 90s hip hop classics, was mixing songs so quickly that you couldn’t tire of any song, which is a great thing. He was an ADHDJ.

I love voodoo! I love the views, I love that it is outdoor, I love that it isn’t the ridiculous usual Vegas «scene». Less 21-​year-​olds in heels so high they can’t walk, more normal, fun people who just want to have a good time.

As a non local this view is fantastic.
My company Rented the whole place out for an event.
The drinks were flowing but not consistent a 4 out of 5.
The food was good. We had a fixed menu and everyone enjoyed their food. I had a steak and it was perfectly cooked as we’re several others at various tables. I have to say wirh a large crowd I was impressed wirh that.

Overall they are a 4.5 for a private event setting. I don’t think I would come here for a dance club, bottle service. I am sure there are better places then this for that.

I am not a frequent Night club visitor by any means but I was in Las Vegas for an industry awards dinner and I did win an award so of course I «had to» celebrate at the after party with my peers. I had no idea the view was so amazing from the rooftop bar. It blew my mind it was so beautiful. The drinks were very tasty. We got bottle service at our table inside (it was a little chilly, even for this Reno girl, to stay outside long unless you were outside dancing) and our large group was treated well by staff.
They have a photographer who will take your photo and then you can purchase it after if you like. She got a great shot and it was something we could show to our bosses without any embarrassment later too. Better than any of us could take.
The place was crowded so I’m sure it’s hard to keep the floors and restrooms clean but that would be my only minus and they weren’t too bad at all.
Go for the view!

OFF TO THE VENETIAN FOR LIVE MUSIC AND DOLLAR DRINKS!

Went here after doing the voodoo zipline which was part of a groupon deal. Pretty cool atmosphere. Diverse crowd. DJ played a decent selection of music. The tequila sunrise was just okay. The views from the rooftop are beautiful and I live for beautiful views. However, I wouldnt necessarily return here to party on my next Vegas visit because of the location from the strip.

We were in Vegas for a conference and after dinner were looking for something to do. For our first night, we didn’t feel like venturing too far and since we were staying at the Rio, VooDoo seemed the perfect choice. Granted, we came here on a Tuesday and probably early for Vegas standards (10ish), so there wasn’t a line to get in and we were charged $ 10 each. We ordered drinks from the first bar we saw inside, and two witchdoctors for four people was plenty to get us started after our drinks with dinner. The witchdoctor drinks were good, just really sweet and pretty much just a hodgepodge of different flavors of rum with a lime in it. After those, we just stuck to our «plain» drinks of vodka sodas, rum and coke, etc.
Outside, the DJ was already playing and since no one was having bottle service yet, we were able to sit at the bottle service tables giving us an even better view for a couple of hours. The music was great; it was a mix of old and new, rock, pop and rap so there was something for everyone.
The view was just amazing! We were here when the skies were clear and there was a full moon making the view that much better.
I’m not sure I would go out of my way to visit VooDoo since it is off the strip, but if I’m already at the Rio, I don’t see why I wouldn’t visit it again.

Vegas Baby! Yeah. Woo hoo. I find myself visiting LV with a group of good friends. All enjoy having fun and gambling, drinking and dancing are all included. We wanted to go out and were looking for a fun place that wasn’t filled with kids. We looked around and decided that we’d check out the vOodoo on top of Rio. We conifers getting a bottle table but decided to check it out first.
The line to get upstairs was not bad at all, only took ten minutes or so. Once we got upstairs we roamed around the observation deck like are and went outside to the dance are that had a live dj. The music selection was pretty good, there was a random group of tourists enjoying LV and it was pretty fun. At the top, you can also try out the zip line between towers, but it didn’t look very interesting to me.
Drinks were not too hard to to get, but I don’t think there are any waitresses up there? Bars inside and outside were pretty easy to navigate, it was great to see how fast the bartenders took care of orders. All in all it was a fun night. The casino down below at the Rio is good for gambling too. Fun dealers.

This place is amazing especially the 1^st time I went with a group of friends. My friend recommended me getting this amazing drink called «the witch doctor» that has like 7 shots or so very dangerous but good lol. At first it tastes like juice but as the night goes on it creeps up on you. I have not been able to drink this by myself always shared with another person. The glass is huge and it has bubbles and smoke coming out of it. The other time i went was for my bachelorette party and my girls and I were able to share and enjoy this, total including myself was 4 people pretty good. You get your moneys worth i believe it was $ 20 for the drink. When you get to the roof top outside there is an amazing view that over looks vegas, it’s really beautiful.

My cousin & I wanted to check out VooDoo because of the great view. & I will say the view is BEAUTIFUL! I talked to a bartender in the casino to see about getting on a list to skip a line & get up there & he delivered. After seeing Penn & Teller we made our way up.
We were on the list but some girl still tried to charge us $ 10 each to get in. Her co worker then informed her we were ok & on the list. We made our way up on the elevator & once we got to the club I understood WHY she was trying to charge us. It was a ghost town. Maybe 50 people max?! Granted it was a Tuesday night but I was a little shocked.
They had all the booths & seats roped off so good luck sitting down. It would be one thing if it was a weekend but it was a Tuesday! Drinks were pretty overpriced for what you got but whatever that’s expected in Vegas. DJ was pretty good.
Again, view was GORGEOUS & was the only redeeming quality in my opinion. It was fun but I don’t think I’ll go back.

Boo! Been here twice. Last week was a bad start to an overall meh experience.
Went on a Wednesday night with a large group for a birthday party (not my idea). The plan was to buy bottle service. Trying to call in advance to get connected with a host was the worst experience. Touch-​tone phone number and a voice message required to get a table? I never got called back by anyone.
Anyways, part of the group is already inside while I and another guy arrive a bit later. The host at the front podium (Dave) stated even local guys had to pay $ 20 to get in. Mind you, I’ve worked for the nightlife industry for a few years here in Vegas to know that I’m not paying to get into a ‘bad’ club, off the strip, on a Wednesday. When I told him we were getting bottle service upstairs, he almost didn’t believe me. He had to call up on his radio to confirm that we were indeed getting a table.
So a table is confirmed. We get in ‘free’. I ask the other guys how much they were charged: $ 10. Dave was trying to charge me $ 20. Was the staff just trying to make some extra money on the side? We made sure to get our money back from their ‘cover’ fee.
Anyways… the view is the only thing they have going for this place and honestly, there are plenty of other clubs and bars/​lounges with way better views ON THE STRIP. (Foundation Room, Mix Lounge, even the bar at the Stratosphere). The crowd is just a whole mix of everything but mostly an older, I-don’t-know-better-than-to-go-to-Voodoo crowd. The DJ was super inconsistent. No real great transitions from one song to the next, a mix of hip-​hop, then some rock and roll, classic rock (what?) and maybe some edm type stuff.
I also asked if there were any local or industry night deals on table service. Nope. $ 700 for two bottles of sky vodka on a Wednesday night at an unpopular club. At least I didn’t foot the bill. Definitely would not recommend this place if you’re trying to have a real good time in Vegas.
