The Spa at New York New York

I called a day in advance to schedule an appointment. The next day I arrived promptly and I was informed that indeed no one put my appointment on the books. The nail tech was not available. Very disappointing, especially for the prices they charge.

Walked in to book a polish change was told there was an opening in about half an hour so I decided to wait. At 5 minutes past my appointment time, a staff member stepped into the women’s lounge to tell me that the nail tech was almost here. What does that mean? Did they book me for an appointment and then have to call someone in? At about 12 minutes past my appointment time, the nail tech swept into the lounge and apologized for being late. I guess since the techs are guaranteed a 20% gratuity, that punctuality doesn’t really matter. The nail tech was nice enough but seemed to rush and not really take care with the initial polish application. She spent more time cleaning up polish on my skin from a sloppy technique than she did actually painting my nails. Definitely not worthy of a 20% gratuity, but at NYNY you don’t have a choice. Would not return.

Update: I contacted New York New York through the email address I found online and was contacted by Megan Reed (recreation services supervisor). She apologized and refunded my service. Because of their quick response in rectifying and making things right I gave two stars. But would still not ever return. I have added a screen shot of her response.

We went here for Fourth of July weekend. Do not get your nails done at New York New York. I went for a pedicure and manicure. My acrylic nails was ugly, bulky and badly shaped. It wasn’t the length I wanted and the lady filed my nail too deep into my skin. On top of all that, she got nail polish behind my nails. It looked as if it was done by an amateur. I was so upset that I couldn’t wait to remove them. We didn’t pay to get poor quality nails and service. It was way over price, I will never come back to this place. I complained to the staff member and even wrote them a email no reply. They are so unprofessional and don’t care about their guests. Take your money and spend it at another casino that will appreciate you.

Overall Impression: I want to say this is the smallest hotel spa I’ve seen in Las Vegas to date. It’s clean and the staff is fantastic, but man… It’s just tiny. There is only one jacuzzi pool (hot), and it probably has a capacity of 2 – 3 people max. The facility is sufficient for
it’s intended use of before and after treatment relaxing. But it’s not a place you will want to spend any extended time relaxing in.

Overall I enjoyed my massage here! You have to keep in mind this is the first spa I ever visit so yeah it may not be the greatest. They do have great customer service, Two saunas small lounge area and showers. I do feel it was a bit overpriced but overall it was still a good experience.

CRAZY expensive. Like, eye-​gougingly pricey. But it was daddy’s money that funded my morning spa session, so at least my eyes are still intact.
My father booked a weekend vacation at the NYNY hotel back in october for my 21^st birthday, so it was us two and my mother and twin brother that went. Yes, double the trouble! On the second day of our stay, the patriarch had so generously funded a morning spa session for both my mom and myself. This included the ENTIRE package: massage, facial, pedicure, etc.
Service was very prompt considering we were one of the first appointments of the day, so we were both able to get out in less than 2 hours. We both left feeling loose and relaxed with baby soft faces, and with cute nails to match. Just thinking about the massage right now is putting me in a trance…

The spa itself isn’t anything spectacular but I had a 50 minute cucumber melon massage by Haley and it was absolutely amazing. She was awesome. After 4 days of walking up and down the strip it was exactly what I needed. I would definitely recommend her.

My fiancé and I stayed at the New York New York during our 5 day trip to Vegas, and we had decided to go for a couples massage at their spa. First, for a $ 270 couples massage, you expect to get top notch service, maybe even some wine or champagne with it… but no. It was definitely NOT worth $ 270! The women’s area was definitely a glorified bathroom, the attendant walked me through very quickly to show me where things were, and then basically left me to fend for myself. The bathroom stalls, showers and hydro tubs are all in the same room, which was very awkward, no privacy. People coming through can see you taking a shower. After I got ready and was in my robe, the massage therapist comes in to get you, and walks you through the gym area (where everyone is working out and can see you walking through) to get to the couples massage room… (another awkward moment). The massage was supposed to last 50 mins, but I don’t think it did. The massage itself was «ok», nothing special. After our massages, we had also made an appointment for pedicures. These cost us an extra $ 150 for the both of us… also not worth it! I’ve had much better pedicures in the past, this was nothing special. I had also asked if I could get the French pedicure colors instead of just a regular color… the woman told me it would cost an extra $ 10 just do to that! They ended up charging an extra $ 12 when I looked at my bank account. All in all, the spa is completely over-​priced and not worth the money, you are strictly paying for the fact that it’s a spa inside of one of the strip hotels, paying for the name basically. Our total cost was $ 444, because they also throw in service fee’s and gratuity on top of it. I will never go back to this spa, nor will I ever recommend it to anyone. I’m sure there are tons of other places in Vegas who do a better job for that kind of money.

Had my nails done here on Sept ¹⁵⁄₁₇ for my wedding. Steve did beautiful acrylic nails that ended up being the most natural, real-​looking fake nails I’ve ever worn. I got tons of compliments on my «real nails».
I spent the following week in the hotel pool and nails stayed put perfectly. I had tiny gems put on two of my nails and those stayed on, too. Even now, 9 days later, they look as good as the day I had them done.

I’ve never been in a spa shower that loses water pressure when someone flushes the toilet.

This experience really pissed me off.
I’d been having trouble with my right knee after walking so much in Vegas. I got a last minute appointment for an hour long massage. The massage was supposed to start at 4, but check in was a disaster. The girl working the desk was totally overwhelmed. I got into the room about 4:10 promised (and paid for) a 50 minute massage. The therapist asked if there were any areas I wanted her to focus on. I explained my leg problem and she acted like she understood. Then I got the standard spa massage with no attention paid to my leg other than the token work. When she said we were done, I looked at the clock. She’d stiffed me a whole 10 minutes, so I ended up with a 40 minute massage for $ 150.
I’m sure there are infinitely better massages on the strip where the therapists actually listen to your concerns. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who wanted anything more than a «spa experience» on vacation.

The two stars are for my massage therapist (Janice) who was absolutely amazing! One of the best massages I’ve had. She was magic. If you get a massage I highly recommend her.
The spa was a glorified bathroom for the most part. The spa attendants weren’t very attentive once they checked you in. I could see and hear them mostly talking to each other behind the counter most of the time.
The steam room probably fits 3 people comfortably, the sauna is a little bigger and would fit more. The bathrooms are literally in the same area. Not much privacy. They have hydro tubs, also all in the same room. But charge to use them, which seems unfair since the men’s lockers has a complimentary jacuzzi. I was there for several hours and never saw anyone use the hydro tub, probably because it was overpriced and not very private as it sat in the middle of the room with a shower curtain around it. Then when it was time for my massage I was taken out of the spa area and through the gym. Kind of awkward in my bathrobe while people were working out watching me walk through in a robe.
If you want to enjoy a fabulous massage you will not be disappointed, but don’t expect much from the day spa portion.

I came to the New York New York Spa while on vacation with Mr family this week and we absolutely loved it. I booked our appointments way in advance so we had no problems getting massages for 4 of us at the same time. When we arrived at the spa they checked us in immediately and took us back to the woman’s lounge. We were given sandals and robes to change into and then we relaxed on the sofas until our massage therapists came to get us. While we waited they provided us with drinks and snacks as well.
The massage was excellent and thoroughly relaxing. I was pleasantly surprised to find the nail technician waiting for me after the massage to move right into my appointments for manicure and pedicure. Steve was my nail tech and he did an excellent job. He was really patient with me and answered all of my questions (this was my first time getting a full set).
I had a great experience overall, and felt completely pampered the entire time I was there. Only wish it was less expensive so I could go more often. .*sigh*

I had a WONDERFUL experience getting a mani/​pedi at the spa here! I believe the girl who did my mani/​pedi was named Ashley? (The pretty blonde with southern accent). I hope that is correct because I want this girl to get absolute credit for the wonderful experience I had here. Great conversation, positive joyful vibes, and awesome attitude from this girl which is something I always appreciate while getting a mani/​pedi. (Let me tell you, it’s hard to find!) My pedicure and manicure has lasted me over a week now in mint condition. Thank you Ashley for the wonderful experience. When I am back in Vegas I hope to come to her again!

For my birthday my husband treated me to a massage at our hotels spa. When my girlfriend and I arrived to the facilities, we were surprised at how small the spa was. We even joked that there were crazy halls with tons of doors. Weird.
After checking in, we were sent to go meet the attendant who gave us the tour of the tiny facility. I was surprised that they had so many lockers but only one small changing room, two toilets and three shower stalls. It also has a steam room and dry sauna but not whirlpool or hot tub.
My masseuse did a great job during the massage but I have had better. She really didn’t ask about what my preferences were and if I had any area I wanted her to focus on. Overall it was just okay. I think next time I’d try the spa at Bellago or Mandalye Bay just to see what else is out there.

Admittedly, this spa review is a bit tardy, but I remember my experience here as one of my poorer ones… The spa here is basic, to say the least. The workout area is serviceable, but the actual spa is like a high school locker room, both in décor and feel. Nothing luxurious, nothing to make you feel like you’re getting a «spa experience.» No whirlpool, no hot tub, just a few showers, no cosmetics in the vanity area. I will definitely not be returning!

I did not use any of the spa services, but did use the gym facility here which is covered in the resort fee at the NY NY. They make you sign a waiver before entering.
The gym is pretty basic, but serviceable. Several cardio machines, treadmills, machines, free weights and fitness balls. They have a water cooler and towels for you to use for your workout. I like that they have wipes to clean the machines once you finish using them.
Also, there are locker room facilities next to the gym if you need it. The gym was pretty empty. Seems most people are walking around on the Strip, gambling, drinking or lying poolside. If you want to get a regular workout, this place is fine. I paid for it, so I had to use it. But pales in comparison to a regular fitness club.

My disclaimer here is that my massage was a 4 star, but the facility and the attendant in the ladies room is a 2 star.
As my last stop in my spa week adventure, I was so dissapointed by this spa. Although clean and seems to be rennovated, this place is sooooo small and appears to be an afterthought in the people who designed this facility. There is no vanity area, just 3 sinks and everyone has to share the 1 bottle of lotion, hair products etc they have out there. There is no whirlpool or hot tub,
The steam room is right next to the only 2 bathroom stalls, and the sauna on the left of the stalls, And there are only 3 shower stalls so we all had to wait for people to be finish etc. And the 3^rd shower was a handicap one so I felt bad for using it!
The locker area is just a tiny wall and when i was shown my locker the attendant even said, «Please be careful not to slam your locker and there are massages going on on the otherside.» Wth??? The attendance kept following my girlfriends and I around asking us if we left our water bottles behind. Right on for not wanting to waste anything but come one! She started to make me and my friend uncomfortable.
And my treatment room was a friggin closet! There was no place for my poor technician to move around, I wonder how they even got the table in there.
Anyways, but yes, my massage was good, Right on Timothy, but I will NOT becoming back here. Again, for the same price go to Mandalay Spa, Vdara Spa or Hard Rock’s spa and get your money’s worth.
