Booked here for my wedding hair and make up along with my sister and 3 year old niece as I got married in the Island Chapel last Friday the 13^th on the Tropicana property. We weren’t getting married til 5pm but when I made the reservation over a month in advance I was told that we should come in at 12pm in order to have plenty of time for all the services (Updo and make up for me, a blow dry for my sister and a baby blow dry for my niece). When we arrived the woman said that she didn’t think my niece’s hair would do well with a blow dry so she took a few bobby pins and just put my niece’s hair up on top of her head (She has very tight curly mixed hair, so this took literally all of 2 minutes to do). We were a little disappointed that she didn’t even try to do a blow dry (as that is what we’d booked and I explained her hair texture to the receptionist when booking), but figured since it took 2 minutes maybe she wouldn’t charge us. Nope! $ 50 for something that was not what we’d booked and took 2 minutes. As I said before, my sister also booked a blow dry, but the woman said she didn’t think that would be good either and suggested she curl her hair instead. So, without washing it or anything the lady curled my sister’s hair and charged her $ 75 for something that took 10 minutes. As far as my hair, she also did not wash it but rather back combed it and put it up. Granted, it looked wonderful in the end so I’m not as displeased with the outcome of my hair so much as it all seemed very rushed which was frustrating as I’d booked over a month in advance assuming they wouldn’t double book us which they did as I learned when the woman stopped after my updo to do make up on another woman while I had to wait. After waiting, she did my make up, however she didn’t have any red lipstick or any lip liner at all and asked me to use my own lipstick. Frustrating when the whole reason I booked a make up session was to not use my own products and to have someone apply them for me. In the end she said ‘well, it’s only 1:45, you have so much time left, you might as well wait to do the lips until right before the wedding’. I was thinking… well yeah! But the receptionist told me to book at 12pm assuming it was going to take more time for the blow drys and hair as it probably should have. I wouldn’t be writing this if I felt that we got what we paid for, but we really did not. And gratuity is already included so we couldn’t even tip what we felt was appropriate. I should have mentioned it to the woman/​reception man but it was my wedding day and I really didn’t feel like arguing. Just be forewarned potential bookers — the price is not worth it and you may get stiffed on adequate services. Also something to mention, while they do offer you water/​juice, don’t expect a complimentary mimosa. They will however direct you to room service which I’m sure would take longer to get there than for them to do the rushed job on your hair. Even $ 40 blow dry bars here in LA give you free drinks while you’re getting your hair done. For what they charge, a glass of champagne should be included.

Do not go here for color!!! I was looking for a new hair stylist and ended up with another horror story. Went in for a basic retouch and ended up with orange/​gold roots and platinum blonde re-​growth… Horrible! On top of it she said she couldn’t fix it because she was off in 45 min. She did say she would fix it 3 days later!!! So the entire weekend I wore a hat! Based on her idea of fixing it I decided to go elsewhere. She just didn’t seem like she knew what to do. Ended up getting a color correction elsewhere and having to try to bleach out her mistake. Which couldn’t be completely fixed. The color costs $ 170. The price is high to begin with and leaving with the worst hair I could of possibly imagined will keep me from going to this salon in the future. I never write reviews but I want to save someone from going through what I just did. My previously healthy hair is now a work in progress.

I booked the men’s sport pedicure, never having had the opportunity nor the guts to do so before. I’m glad I did.
It was posted as a 45 minute treatment, but I was happy to realize that an hour had passed from start to finish. I did not feel as if the aesthetician was rushing me through this in any way. It was a very relaxing experience, having my feet and toes soaked, filed buffed and pampered. They were in bad shape when I went in; she promised no miracles, and was very gentle to avoid a blister that had developed from all the walking I was doing on my road trip. My cracked heals and gnarled toes were greatly improved when I left.
This is all because of Teresita. She’s a gem, and we had constant conversation and I really enjoyed myself. She made good recommendations for the rest of my time in Vegas. She also made me comfortable to continue getting pedicures in the future. I feel like I made a good choice to splurge on this pedicure, and it is die to the friendly professionalism and genuine friendship that Teresita displayed. I appreciate her.

I was recently in Vegas to celebrate my anniversary. Yup, that’s right… I vacationed in Vegas… in June. My husband and I were married in Vegas so it was only appropriate that we return to enjoy ourselves.
We happened to arrive a day before some friends so my hubbs decided to treat me to a massage. After lounging by the pool for an hour, I returned to my room to clean up. I was informed that I should arrive 30 minutes prior to my appointment so I showed up at 12:30 pm. I was kindly greeted and given a quick tour of the facilities as it was my first time at Glow.
I changed into my robe and stored my possessions in the assigned locker. I headed into the quiet room to lounge until my masseuse came to get me. The quiet room was nice with plenty of plush furniture. It was well stocked with fruit, beverages (juices, bottled water, infused water and tea), and magazines. I choose a chaise to relax on and flipped through a magazine for about 10 minutes.
My masseuse, Michelle, introduced herself and led me to my treatment room. I was not only getting a massage but also a bath ritual. My room appeared to be a couples massage room as it had two tables as well as the bathtub. I was flying solo so we just used the one bed.
Before climbing under the covers, Michelle and I discussed my preferences and the current state of my body. After that, she got to work on melting away all of my aches. I choose to extend the massage for an 80 minute session in order to fully enjoy the experience. Michelle was spent plenty of time on my back (my personal preference) without neglecting the rest of my body.
After the massage, Michelle began to run the bathwater for my tub. After mostly filling it and setting up the ambiance (candles and such), I was left to enjoy my bath. There were various bottles of body wash and bubbles. The tub was jetted and included a nice LED light sequence. The post massage bath may have been the best part of the entire experience. At the end of my 25 minutes, Michelle politely knocked on the door to signal the end of the session.
I retreated back to the locker room for a shower and to gather my things. As my husband picked up the tab, I’m not entirely sure what my whole experienced costed but based on their rate card I’d say $ 360. The nice part is a 20% gratuity or service charge is already built into the price.
It was a lovely experience and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to unwind.

The front and the therapist was very pleasant. The problem that I found was for the price it wasn’t worth it. Plus they added the gratuity ahead of time not giving me the aportunity to say if my service was good or great. The lounge chairs were dirty and you couldn’t relax without people coming in and out since the «relaxation room» was the entrance. The last thing was the music. I wanted «spa type music» not R&B, soft rock or gospel.

Don’t waste your money. I got a 50 minute bamboo massage (which was supposed to be like a hot stone massage but with heated bamboo) and it cost $ 170 because they helped themselves to tacking on 20% gratuity to the already overpriced $ 140 massage.
Secondly, I would not have minded a male masseuse, but when scheduling the massage the woman at the front desk asked if I preferred a female or a male and I said female. Wouldn’t you know — what did I see coming out to greet me for my massage? A duuuuddde. Why ask if you’re not even going to get it right? What if I was someone who was serious about preference? Very incompetent.
And lastly, their facilities were not even working that day– so if anyone wanted to use their steam room that was just too bad. Spend your money somewhere worth while– their relaxation room, service, and amenities are not even close to worth the money.

I showed up 15 minutes early to my massage. They told me that the baby was running a bit behind but didn’t inform me that it was 50 minutes behind. I had things to do during the day and by the time they came to me I would only have 20 minutes of the massage that was originally scheduled for a 50 minute long session. The therapist asked me if I had any special area of my body that needed attention. How can I relax now when I’m being a rush treatment. I didn’t have time for my massage so I packed up my stuff and walk to the counter they told me that they would waive my cancellation fee because I didn’t have the session but they didn’t offer me any type of reimbursement all they said is they reschedule it. So I would have to pay for another massage at another time.

Got a hot stone massage and it was nicely done. Probably one of the better massages I have ever gotten. They have a lovely steam room.

This is an amazing spa that just opened in 2012 and I have been a loyal client ever since.
Yes it is a very different type of atmosphere which is upbeat and fun.
In my personal experience I’ve never come across a staff member in a grumpy mood. Everyone greets with a smile and looks like they all really get along with one another. «Jackie» Jacqueline Z. Is a licensed esthetician and I have very beautiful skin thanks to this Wonderful person. I had horrible monthly breakouts uggh thanks to hormons of course and ever since I have been introduced to Jacqueline and the glow 2 facial with the peel and eye masks added I’ve never seen my skin so clear and smooth my whole life. I honesty thought I was just a girl not meant to have beautiful skin, oh boy was I wrong! The skin needs to be treated and taken care of also at home. I was well educated by Ms. Jacqueline on products that best work for my type of skin and I now how to maintain my skin on a health level.
Please don’t let one bitter person ruin a experiance of a life time at glow and Jacqueline.

I only used the gym and the equipment was fine for a quick workout. The cardio equipment overlooks a nice pool.
Limited free weights but you can be creative.

Great spa! Very relaxing! I had an amazing enzyme facial one day and a seaweed body wrap/​massage another day. Both services were great and the staff was very professional. I highly recommend both services.

Me «So how’s your day?» Masseuse «oh another day another dollar». Not very professional. I work hard for my $, at least he can try to fake it. My girlfriend was sore for a week after the massage. What a waste of $.

If you’re looking for a luxurious day spa where you can lounge and take advantage of a variety of amenities aside from getting a treatment, then DO NOT come here. If you’re the type of person who likes to be in and out with their treatments and don’t mind the sparse amenities or don’t even use the amenities, then by all means check this place out.
Like other Unilocalers have mentioned, this place is super small. The room I had my massage in was the same size as both the locker room and amenities area combined.
I came here with fellow Unilocaler Ingrid R. After checking in, we were given a quick tour of the relaxation room; locker room; and amenities area. It was just the 2 of us in the locker room which had about 30+ lockers, BUT the space could only hold 5 people max, it was that small. The room next door had the steam room and 2 showers (1 of which was broken). A wave of disappointment hit me as I saw the sparse amenities. I was nervous about how my treatment would turn out.
We went to the relaxation room and waited to be called. My favorite part of the spa is the relaxation room. The room is painted and decorated in calm neutral colors. The soothing sound of trickling water from a mini fountain adds to the calm environment. There are individual lounges each separated by a hanging white cloth. As for amenities there were «Vegas» magazines for reading, chilled water, and hot black tea (an odd choice of tea for a spa). I assumed this area was for women only until I saw a man walk in and plop himself down on the lounge beds *$&@! THANK GOD I DIDN’T DISROBE WHILE RELAXING… it would’ve been nice had we been informed, during the tour, that the relaxation room was co-​ed.
The treatment I chose was «Glow from Top to Toe» (50 mini for $ 130): 25 minutes of a foot and ankle massage and 25 minutes of a scalp, shoulder, arm and hand massage. While being massaged, both my hands and feet were popped into a pair of hot paraffin mitts/​booties. Sounds amazing right?! And it was :) My masseuse was surprisingly good, although at times she was a bit too chatty for me and when she wasn’t chatting, the background music was that of radio type music instead of ‘spa’ music (again an odd choice for a spa). I loooooved the scalp massage, I could’ve had that done for the entire session. The rest of my massage was better than I had anticipated. As for the hot paraffin, they were HOT to the point where I was debating if I should say anthing, but since I have a high threshold for pain I figured it’d cool down gradually to a nice and warm sensation which eventually happened.
I’m still not sure if i’d come back just because I like spas that have a variety of amenities to use and encourage you to stay the entire day.

We had a package from Book
that gave us 20% off spa services. The first day I went I was in a bit of a rush and had my eyebrows done and she did a fabulous job. Since I was getting a discount anyways I just added more to the tip for her. Then the following day my fiancé’ and I had a side by side couples massage. It was good and we really needed it. The spa is really small, but private. They provide lockers, showers and a separate steam room for men and women.

For the price, this place is seriously below par.
I had a 40-​minute sugar scrub/​massage, for around $ 140. The treatment itself was fine, and the therapist was personable and efficient. The room was relaxing and pleasant, though the music was more elevator-​style adult contemporary than traditional Zenlike spa music. Kinda lame.
The spa facilities are what really suck, though. If you want a massage, fine — pay the $ 180 and get your treatment; then get the hell out. I can do a better spa day at my cheap-​ass gym!!!
There is no reason to loiter here. The «relaxation room» is bland, stocked with tea, apples and vapid Vegas magazines. The rest of the facility consists of a tiny locker room, teeny bathroom, and a steam room. That’s it. If you want to soak in a whirlpool, you have to go OUT IN THE CASINO, down the hall, down the elevator, down another hall, and outdoors to the pool area. All this in your spa robe and slippers! And I visited in January — WAY too cold to be walking outdoors in a wet robe!
I came with three girlfriends, and the place wasn’t big enough for all of us. There are only two showers, and one was broken… so we had to take turns. The vanity area in the locker room was tiny, and one of the blow dryers was broken, so most of us just went up to our rooms to get ready. Keep this in mind if you’re planning a spa day for your bridal party or something like that — this place is only big enough to accommodate 2 guests at a time. Besides which, it sucks.
If I’m paying $ 140 for a massage, I want a fancy experience, dammit! Otherwise I’d just go to Massage Envy.

My fiancé and I had the pedi-​colada. It was great! My fiancé loved it; he found it very relaxing and when his pedicurist (?) was done, he felt as if he was walking on air. Jackie R was hilarious and very fun. I didn’t get a chance to check out the amenities, but I think my fiancé said the facilities were pretty nice. It’s obviously more than I would pay for a regular pedicure but it’s Vegas!

Were it not for the lack of ammenities, this place would get 4 stars. I had an amazing deep tissue massage, maybe the best massage I have ever had and the staff was very welcoming. I also thought it was pretty fantastic that the spa was playing actual music instead of that weird chanting or instrumental stuff that most spas seem to favor.
Some of my friends experienced an issue with there only being one manicurist working. 2 friends had to settle for a massage therapist doing their manicure and pedicure. As she was a massage therapist, nails really weren’t her thing and my friends were disappointed. I got lucky and got the actual nail tech, so I have no complaints.
This place is very white. White floors, white furniture. Very clean and asthetically pleasing. The refrigerator in the lounge where we spent a lot of time was nicely stocked with waters and fruit juices. The ony downside to this otherwise great spa is – as stated above — the lack of amentities. No dry sauna and no soaking pools. Having said that, the amenities this facility does offer are nicely maintained and since this place is newly remodeled everything looks fresh and new. I went with a travelzoo voucher, and even then, the prices weren’t cheap. Just be aware that, as with all strip location spas, you are going to pay top $$.

This comment is for the fitness portion of the spa. It is apparently open from 6am to 7pm. Since it is tied to the spa portion, the hours are quite limited. I wish that the fitness area were open 24 hours like the remainder of the property.
The cardio equipment was fairly brand new. There were quite a few machines to accommodate the guests staying at the Tropicana. However, the thing I found disappointing was the lack of machines to lift weights and the small facility dedicated for fitness. At least there is a nice view of the pool. I think you can get your basic workout here, but other than that, this fitness center will be lacking many of the amenities you would normally find at a regular gym. With the resort fee that you are paying for, the hotel should offer a better facility for fitness.

Came with my three girlfriends for a much needed relax day. Those two got the facial and massage… both said they loved their masseuse and the products were wonderful. However, they said the massage and facials were only «okay» for the price. I just used the facilities and did not get any services. The sauna is very nice (changing colors!) and showers are comfortable. I love the ready-​to-​brush toothbrushes and the little other trinkets they put out… but where are the combs?
What really disappointed me was the fitness center. Way smaller compared to the other hotels’ and some machines were not adjustable when they should be. No room to place the mats and do abs/​pilates, which was a bummer. View of the pool is nice though, and they have top of the line ellipticals.

Excellent spa! Relaxing, fresh fruit. Clean! Enjoy my day of spa treatments, it’s the typical spa, nothing really stood out to me, but very nice to come and relax.
