History
Established in 2006.
The San Martín campus, the third acute care facility in the Dignity Health — St. Rose Dominican system, opened its doors to the public November 8, 2006, to serve the growing needs of the community.
The campus has received numerous awards and recognition for its quality care. San Martin was designated as Baby-Friendly in 2014 by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). It also received Chest Pain Center Accreditation by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC)
The San Martín Campus was named in honor of Saint Martín de Porres. As a Dominican brother, Martín was known for his ability to provide physical and spiritual care to the sick and poor, including slaves. He maintained an animal hospital and established an orphanage and hospital for poor children.
