Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center

I don’t know where to begin… lets just say it’s one of the worst experiences my friends and I have had in our medical visits. We are medical employees and know what the expectations are for patients. It was absolutely absurd the way this ER operates. There is no professionalism, no privacy, and the staff was absolutely rude. Patients had to help each other out because nurse didn’t care about helping their own patients out. Would rather suffer in pain than returning to this ER ever again. They really don’t even deserve the 1 star rating. WORST ER EVER!!!

I’d prefer not to give this review any stars. My mom cane her after she broke her femur. They had her sitting in the hallway until 4pm the following day to do surgery. They also stripped her down in the hallway for surgery. When they took her belongings everything was returned except her phone. Everytime she would ask about it they would ignire her. After I filed a complaint and let them know I’d log on my computer and find her phone’s location it was returned in 10 minutes. Also when she was finally in a room it would take a nurse 30 mins to respond when she hit the call button. The doctors were good but the nursering staff and security are horrible. I would never come here or let someone else come here.

My mother had a lung biopsy done in this hospital and she had nothing but good to say about this place.
The MDs are wonderful and all the nurses are warm and caring. So Thank you for giving her such great help while going through difficult time.

I came here at 12:30am on January 4^th because i was having unbearable chest pains which was the 2^nd day for me and I had to see what was wrong. The staff was awesome got me checked in, asked some questions and got my insurance information. After receiving my insurance information they proceeded to run some tests on me. I previously had tuberculosis which I Informed them I completed my medication and everything was all dandy. Well after they ran tests which took hours and still haven’t received any follow up on them, they had me in the waiting room and came and asked me to put on a mask and placed me in a room all by myself more like a closet. After a hour in that room a nurse took me another room where they taped the door up making sure no one come in because of my previous TB. Long story short I don’t have TB and one of the nurse told me its pneumonia but the doctor came in and said they couldn’t admit me because my insurance was not accepted. This was 10hours later after already seeing what insurance I had. I had to leave because I felt that was the worst experience in a hospital I ever had. Save your death for another hospital because they won’t even fight to try and save you here… ZERO STARS

Nothing but lip service. They never notified us of anything, despite having told every doctor, nurse and case worker we came in contact with. Horrible staff with no people skills. Get out fast.

Had a pretty great experience, the night nurses are amazing especially Liz and the charge nurse Debbie. Liz went above and beyond everyone else to make sure I didn’t end up having a c section. She is so caring, she takes her job very serious and follows all of the policy’s not just what she feels like at the time. To some that would be annoying BUT she is so caring it’s worth it. The recovery nurses are not as good and some pretty forgetful but Liz and deb made the beginning of my experience so amazing that the rest isn’t that big of a deal.

From Southern California, mother took a horrible fall at a casino on the escalator suffered knee gashing and arm injury. Upon arrival it was like County. Granted it’s the first day of the year but every room occupied and every inch of hallway filled to capacity. All the crazy ppl of Vegas receive better care here than working, paying citizens. Whatever the dopers going through detox or whatever cried they wanted they receive. So all you dopers out there hear me? Come here for all your medical needs

My daughter had her baby at this hospital! What amazing care she received in labor and delivery from Lauren and Myra C and the nurse that took care of Laila after delivery. Unfortunately her doctor was unable to get there in time for delivery but, the doctor on duty came in and took over! What a bunch of amazing women! In recovery the nurses are great! Minnie is the best! Thank you!

Come to this ER to die!!! The wait is long. The process is long. The people working the front have no idea what’s going on! You will wait get seen. You’ll wait to get a bed. You’ll wait to pay. Then, you’ll wait another hour for your discharge papers! Expect to wait at least a minimum of 5 hours! Come here if you want to die! You will!

I had a wonderful c section delivery here. I plan to get pregnant in 6 months and I would not go to another hospital to have my child.

Today I am 9 months pregnant and have had to go to the Labor & Delivery Triage twice within the past month. While the doctors seem knowledgable and professional the nursing staff that assisted me both times let a lot to be desired in their bedside manor. It’s to the point that I am ready to change hospitals for my schedule c-​section. Both nurses each visit did not listen to my medical concerns and assumed the exact opposite of what I was telling them. It was not until both doctors came in that I felt like someone actually heard and comprehended my words. With friends and family all in the medical profession, some nurses, I understand it takes a special person to perform this job. Just wish the two I was treated by would consider some other field if they want to treat everyone with such a burnt out snippy attitude.
Also from all of the reviews of all the hospitals in Las Vegas, it seems that this poor service is the norm. Such a disappointment about moving to this area.

Beyond tired of waiting. I’ve been here for over 5 hours for a minor car wreck injury. Each process takes forever. We looked online to check the wait times for the ER and it states 5 minutes. What a joke?!
We’ve been constantly told… «Oh it’ll be about 45 minutes» or «it’ll be another hour for the results» or «the doctor needs to come out to speak with you and will be out shortly». I think their perception of time is completely off.
The nurses and doctors that I have dealt with have been friendly enough but friendly isn’t making this trip to the ER any easier. 5 hours and counting. Still waiting to receive my discharge instructions and prescription when I was told 30 minutes ago that we should be able to check out shortly. Exhausting.

Online ER wait time states 5 minutes. We thought wow, is that possible? Well, yeah that’s a total joke. We waited about 50 minutes to be taken back to sit and wait some more. The doctors and nurses were friendly but the wait was excessive. We waited 2 hours before talking to the doctor. Then waited 45 minutes for X-​rays, 1.5 hours for the X-​ray results and after 30 minutes we’re still waiting to be called up to pick up our prescription and be discharged.
I get it, ER waiting is never fun but this has been one drawn out process and they weren’t even busy when we first got here. Now after 4.5 hours they have acquired more folks in the waiting room. I’d definitely try another hospital next time before coming here. Just don’t believe the estimated ER wait times online, I have no idea how they come up with that number or update it but it is NOT accurate. Hopefully you don’t need an ER but if you do, go somewhere else.

I love Spring Valley Hospital labor & delivery! I’ve had all three of my boys there. All of the nurses are friendly, caring, and very attentive. I just recently had my 3^rd son via c-​section on 8÷20÷15 and everything went very smooth, my stay there was comfortable and One of my nurses I remembered her caring for me during my last two births. She was and is still a sweet woman, Miss Sherri :) I wouldn’t choose any other hospital.

This is our hospital for delivery of our new baby boy. The accommodations were nice there is a small chair that folds out into a bed .kind of. It was comfortable enough that i actually got a bit of shut eye. the staff has been completely friendly and helpful. the employees are super professional and knowledgeable also. the nurses over the past day have all held a pretty high standard and we loved them all. It wasn’t VERY BUSY EITHER I WONDER IF THIS PLACE IS USUALLY BUSIER BUT ON A SATURDAY MORNING THE ER WAS PRETTY MUCH EMPTY… that’s a good sign
Cons… the food in the café looked like it was a week old, stick with the peanuts and prepackaged snacks.

First let me start by saying their triage area is a joke. There is no privacy and everyone can hear what you are discussing with a nurse. What a huge HIPAA violation. Came here for chest pain and was taken to a dirty ugly room to get an ekg. Nurse never introduced himself or what he would be doing.
I was then taken to the back to the emergency and luckily i got a room. Let me tell you this place was something of drama tv. Patients all in the hallway, people running around crazy, ambulance bringing patient after patient. Then once I do get to my room I see several doctors who let me know what may be going on, etc. The nurse was horrible, never ever came to check on me, no button to call nurse if I needed anything. Really horrible bedside manner. Then they came to take my blood and she never introduced herself, what she was about to do, or if it was even okay. And had to beg for the raggedy remote so I could watch tv.
Then I’m told I’ll be admitted but there are no beds available and would have to go to an overflow unit. Much quieter but no bathroom, no privacy, no tv, absolutely nothing. It’s stressful enough but this made it worse. I got to this unit 8pm last night and it’s almost 3pm the next day. No food, no water because I have to wait for them to do a stress test. Now I’m really upset. And I can hear everything they are discussing with the patient next to me. Another HIPAA violation. Why would they not just transfer me to another hospital if there were no beds? Guess it’s a money thing and they better not bill room & board since I was never in a room.
I’m new to the area been here 2 months and was experiencing chest pain and Google & reviews said this wad the best place to come for cardiac issues. I’m so very disappointed & upset and hope I never ever have to come here again. I will be filing complaints.

I am a 530 gal through and through. I find that I am constantly having to defend my great city to all those transplants that like to shit talk my home.
Well today… all that shit I hear struck me in the face. I was in a car accident where I was stopped and hit from behind. The guy was going pretty fast as he statee he didn’t see my car. Point is he hit us HARD. My husband and I were transported to this hospital via ambulance. Not impressed with the fire department guys who showed up on scene but that’s for another review. When we arrived at the emergency room area that is specifically for emergency vehicles we were shocked to find that there were 8 others also parked here. I was in extreme pain and shocked that this was happening. It was a Tuesday for Christ’s sake! We waited while the driver went in to see what was up. He eventually came back and got me. When I was rolled into the ER there were literally 8 gurneys lined up. One after the other. I felt as though I was in some third world country. But NO, I was in my city, my Las Vegas!
I was out in the open strapped to this gurney waiting for a room. After maybe 45 minutes they found a half room with no place for a bed to put me. They had me get off the bed and sit in a chair. All I can say is OUCH! Anyway some doctor eventually came to see me. He wasn’t a doctor though. He’s a PA. In the ER they have PA’s? Is this what I pay so much money to insurance for? Needless to say he was less than friendly and could give a shit with my complaints/​concerns. I was in pain and he didn’t care. I was just another number to him and he went down the line one after the other. No specialized attention. What’s the point?! There is no privacy here either. The girl next to me tried to commit suicide and the girl on the other side was told she was pregnant. Is this what people do? They come to the hospital to see if they are pregnant?!! All you shit bags need to pull your heads out of your ass and do the right thing! Oh and hippa what?!
The nurses were nice but extremely busy. It was obvious with their interaction with us. We were eventually moved to the ER waiting area where there were a number of people walking around holding their own IV bags. Again… felt like I was in some foreign third world country. Shame on this hospital! There were people in this area moaning and groaning.
I was sent home only to have to find a doctor of my own that would actually take time with me. I’ve been diagnosed with a torn SI. The ER doc never listened when I told him my lower back was hurting so bad. He was useless in my opinion.
This is not medical care in my opinion. I deserve to have my concerns addressed and pain eased. This was not the case today.

Had our daughter here on April 18, 2015 and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised that our experience this time was a way way better one then when we had our 1^st daughter at Summerlin Hospital.
From day one on Friday to discharge on day three everyone from Doctors to Nurses to food delivery people even the counter people were all so amazingly nice, friendly and accommodating.
We thought we were going to miss out because we weren’t having her at Summerlin hospital but boy was I wrong and the Nurses here are by far way friendlier then the cranky grumpy nurses at Summerlin hospital… I’m mean there was not one nice one there.
Anyway not saying that we’ll have another child again but if we do TRUST me we will choose Spring Valley in a heart beat!

This review is strictly for the ER or Emergency Department:
Holy cow, talk a horrific experience! actually the admitting was quick and pleasant but everything after that… Terrible. We only came here because all the quick care facitilies in the spring valley area were closed
After being quickly admitted, I was directed to sit and wait to be called for triage. Mind you, I was admitted and at 12:45am. I was there for what I suspected was pink eye, so knowing that my case was non emergent I knew I was going to have some bit of a wait… But not 3.5hrs
I was seen by the dr quickly but for non emergent cases, they do this back and forth thing where they call you back, do whatever you need, and send you back to the waiting area. Call you back for an eye exam, then send you back. I went back and forth from being with a nurse in the back to the waiting area about 4times
Apparently their ER system works like there is only one nurse that does the triage and discharge paper work, so even tho I had been seen and everything all done… I was just waiting to be discharged and given my prescriptions. The actual waiting and been seen by a doctor part only took like 30−45minutes but I was not officially discharged and given my prescriptions until 3:50am! And remember I was admitted at 12:45am it’s absolutely ridiculous. So because that one nurse is the only to triage and do discharge paperwork… The more people that come into the ER the more people are stuck waiting to be discharged. There were people even in front of me that just left, I’m guessing they didn’t need prescriptions so this one guy just left without his discharge paperwork. I woulda did the same thing if I could but I needed to wait for my prescription.
My mother works as a ICU nurse at Spring Valley, and she even said their ED (emergency department) sucks. My thing is at least at other ERs you may wait to be seen, but at least everything happens at once. None of that going back and forth bs… To imagine I was waiting for 2hrs just to be discharged… Give me the dam prescriptions and paperwork next time. Stupid stupid system

I’m so torn on this review.
I came out here on ¹²⁄₃₀ with my fella for his thumb that he sprained while playing with the dog, and as packed as they were, they had us in and out in a pretty reasonable amount of time.
I came back in on ¹⁄₆ at 4:45 am for kidney pain and pressure.
They got me checked in and registered within the hour.
By 6:30, I’d seen the doctor and had IV painkillers, fluids, and a CT scan.
The nurse who gave me the painkiller cocktail was super nice, and Dr. Han was great. The CT tech was awesome too, he made me laugh.
And then they forgot about me until nearly 9:00am.
They put me back along the back wall with the «drug seeking» cases, people who were complaining that they needed dilauded after the doctor said no, people who were pitching fits, vomiting, and so on through their withdrawal symptoms… I didn’t belong back there, AND they wouldn’t let me go sit out in the regular waiting room with my IV fluids… even though I’d seen others out there with bags.
When they finally saw me, the doctor was concerned and wanted to Admit me for my kidney problems, but I signed out AMA, needing to do a follow up with a urologist… when they gave me my prescriptions, they had prescribed a painkiller that there is apparently a national shortage of, and I had to call 3 different pharmacies to find it, and they didn’t even take my insurance. Why would the ER knowingly prescribe me something that THEY KNOW there is a shortage of? They warned me about the shortage, why wouldn’t they just give me something else?
I’d had a bad experience here before, and this was better, but it still was not as good as it could have been.
Hopefully I won’t need to come back here any time soon…
