I’ve seen these guys several times over the last 6 – 7 years, through different line-ups, etc. Very talented dudes, I know a few of them play in multiple bands here in town, and to play 80’s pop one night and rock the next, there must be some talent there! They put on a great show, this time around it looks like they’ve pumped some money into the stage, it used to be pretty bare bones but now they have some fancy signage and such. The sound level is good, it’s not crazy loud that you can’t talk to the person next to you. My only complaint, and why I knocked off a star is the light show on some of the songs were annoyingly white, bright and flashing, and if you’re epileptic, expect a grand mal during Mony Mony, holy cow was it ever annoying. I don’t recall them doing that before. Anyway, good music to dance to, good energy, highly recommended.

What’s better than being an 80’s baby??? I don’t think it can get any better. Back when the music was fun, happy, energetic, clean, and just freaking awesome! The Spazmatics sure know how to party! Best of the 80’s. Awesome place to dance and let loose with your mom, girlfriends, maybe even your grandma! If you don’t know the songs they rock to then you may have been living under a rock!!! They interact with the crowd and put on such an awesome show; they wear the funniest outfits which add to the show! Just a great time! I will be back sooner than later! Tip #1: buy VIP online and arrive 30 to 40 minutes early! The line does get long but there is a bar and slot machines right by the line so you can watch. Tickets are only 15 bucks and you get 2 drink tickets, good for any well drink or draft beer! Tip #2: order your drinks two at a time if its packed because service can get a little slow due to the crowd of course. Service was great though! Tip #3: put your dancing shoes on, drink a red bull or two, put on a hot outfit ladies and gents, and be ready to rock !!!

The Spazmatics did two sets of music and the first set was totally 80’s. All the old stuff I grew up on. The 2nd set was a bit weird with stuff I’d never heard but then back to the original stuff. The dancing was the best part because you don’t need a partner. You just get out there by yourself and go for it. It is way cool to be back in High School or whatever time again. This is the first time I had done something like this and it was awesome! It would probably have been better if they had changed behind a curtain or something and not just in the dark to make it more of a surprise since not everyone was watching the video. But, the outfits were pretty cool.

Love, love, love these guys!!! I love everything about the eighties and early nineties music. I can sing every song that they sing. I take all of my friends to this place and they love it. I tend to call myself a local groupie of this band because I’ve seen them more than 8 times already. LOL

Tip: –It’s true. The line for VIP is long and they get to check in last. But no worries, your seat is reserved. –I did not do VIP and got in right away but have to share seats with another couple… and the group nearby smoke like there’s no tomorrow but that’s okay too, because I was on the dance floor most of the time anyway. Did not smell anything from the dance floor. –I do recommend that you VIP for $ 10 because it comes with 2 drinks. If not VIP, you pay $ 5 at the door and $ 7 for one drink. This is the best! To be surrounded with people most of your age(a few in twenties, but mostly 35−50yrs) and to hear music from the old 80s. Everything about the 80s are the best! Can’t wait to go back with my friends! I had a great time! Definitely a must go if you are in vegas.

Fun show. Cheap admission($ 5). Relatively cheap drinks for a casino. Music was great. Brings back many memories from growing up. All sorts of genres(Journey, Madonna, Beastie Boys, Vanilla Ice, Def Leopard, etc.) The band captures what was so great about the 80s, it was crazy.

I grew up in the 80’s so I was excited to hear my two friends pick this show for our girl’s night out. We LOVED the show! We have VIP seats and the stage was so close to our seats. I was impressed with their voices and musical talent. Their outfits were nerdy and there onstage humor was funny! I loved it! I will be back again. Thank you for a great time!

These guys are AWESOME! I saw them at Light(Mandalay Bay) for a clubbing event for ExhibitorLive and they were AMAZING! I love their sound and look! They play the oldies that you can dance to and singalong to from Vanilla Ice to Bön Jovi. They make funny noises to go along with their«nerd» theme and they were hilarious! The dancing was well choreographed and in sync! I wish they played longer!

This place is conveniently located inside of the South Point Hotel and Casino. Great time if you are totally into 80s music or not. I found myself transporting back into time in no time. I was not totally sold on coming here but a group of friends celebrating a birthday decided to make this our last stop after a fun night playing bingo in our 80’s attire. The 80’s cover band was awesome and I quickly found myself dancing in my seat and next onto the dance floor! The band members were dressed in nerdy attire and they were so entertaining. The place was packed with all age groups dressed in normal to crazy 80’s attire. There were couples and groups of people showing off their moves(among other things) and there were for sure moves I had never seen or maybe conveniently forgot about. I can’t recall the exact price of the cover charge but it was ridiculously inexpensive and I do remember thinking they could total charge more. I really had forgotten how much fun the 80’s were and Spazmatics brought it all back. Really awesome time and would most definitely return!

What a fun time! The Spazmatics are a fun 80’s tribute band that dresses like nerds and has an entertaining, tongue-in-cheek take on their performance. It’s a 4-piece band and the musicianship is very good. They do use some backing tracks, but it doesn’t feel canned because they obviously play their instruments so well. The only weird thing is that there are so many keyboard parts in these 80’s songs and they don’t have a keyboard player — it’s just in the tracks. Not a huge thing, but they’d be better with a keyboard player! Their song selection was great, the sound was great and the dance floor was popping! No DJ required!!! It’s a fun date night or just a night out with friends!

Unilocal365CHALLENGE2014−(176÷365) «80s Flashback» After an unsuccessful attempt at Bingo upstairs, we hurried down to the showroom for Teri W’s birthday bash at the Spazmatics. 80s fans, this is where you can spaz out with a bunch of friends and relive this crazy era! $ 10 gets you VIP admission inside as well as two drink tickets. Not a bad deal at all! The Spazmatics have done a pretty good job at covering 80s hits for the past six years, from Depeche Mode, Devo, Kenny Loggins, Billy Idol, Salt N Pepa, and many many more! You can even look the part and dress up in your 80s best! It’s great to see people just having a great time dancing the night away to one of the best decades ever, and even the music during intermission was awesome! We even got to the dance floor for a few songs and had a complete blast! We left before the Prom King and Queen were crowned, but we heard later that Ty and Lore whooped some A$$ and didn’t have to flash some cougar hooha to win… TME(too much exposure) fer’ sure dude, like TOTALLY! ALOHA!!! Shaka Meter: \uuu/\uuu/\uuu/\uuu/\u 4.25

Totally spazzed out! We had an amazing time at this show. I went in not knowing what to expect and came out laughing and dancing and wanting more. We came decked out in our 80’s gear ready to celebrate Terri W.‘s birthday. There were about 10 – 15 of us, I don’t remember the exact count. We ended up with two booths on the left side of the stage and right below one of two bars. The show had already started as we were being ushered to our seats. And may I say, the seats were well worth the money. They were playing all the greats from the 80’s and we were rocking out to every single song. Although I did not partake in the actual 80’s era(I was born in it), I love every bit of the music. The good, the bad and the ugly. We enjoyed the show and the complimentary drinks and even made it on to the dance floor for a couple songs. Although there were signs that clearly stated no smoking, we found a few people disregarding. They had about a 15 minute intermission that they played a mix of songs on the two TV’s. Our group started dwindling as the night was coming close to morning, but we decided to stay and finish it out. At the very end they were to crown Prom King and Prom Queen. They asked all the couples to come out on the dance floor to dance while they scan the crowd to pick out the contenders. I grabbed Ty’s hand and we ran out there. Every girl wants a shot at Prom Queen and I had no real shot in high school. So this was my chance! Now before I continue, you have to know that Ty W. looked like an 80’s Rock star and I was his groupie. He had the long blonde hair, the zebra striped bandana, ripped jeans, I mean MmmMm lookin good! So he caught everyone’s attention. We were the first couple picked to make our way to the stage, along with 4 other couples. We entered on stage and looked out into the crowd. This was nerve racking for the both of us and a giant leap out of our comfort zone. We were then told to dance on our partner provocatively and the crowd will be our judge. «Oh NO!» my worst nightmare to dance in front of people, but hey I didn’t know a single one except the birthday girl, so I went for it. While on stage dancing I decided to take a quick glance over at the competition and boy was that a mistake. This woman was upside down with her legs wrapped around her man and her skirt was down by her head. Hooha was hanging out everywhere. Where is your dignity woman?! Anyway, the competition ended and judgment day was upon us. We were the last couple as they went down the line and the crowd cheered for each one. Couple #4(hooha couple) had an uproar and I thought«oh well that’s that.» As the hand came over us and I looked out on to the crowd, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Did we win? Or was that a tie? They voted again and concluded it was a tie. They had never had a tie so it was dance off time. We had to dance 80’s the best. Yikes. We gave it our best shot and by then my legs were ready to give out on me. That’s what I get for being out of shape. We had quite a few fans in the front cheering us on, and it came so close the second round of voting, but in the end, couple #4 took it home. I can say I am proud we came in second and I kept all of my body parts to myself. We had our choice of a $ 100 certificate to Silverado Steak House or 2 tickets to an upcoming show of our choice. Well this girl never turns down steak, so you can imagine what we left with. This show was a complete blast and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a flashback to the 80’s for a good time. I will be back!

Maybe I am being too hard on this«show.» I will say that it’s probably a 3.5 star review… 1st of all, we were coming in with a large group. I contacted the South Point to inquire about booking group tickets and was advised that they are unavailable, but the person I was speaking to mentioned to have everyone book VIP tickets($ 10) and then e-mail her with our confirmations and she could assist in ensuring we were all seated together. She also mentioned to get there early because they like to have everyone seated by 10:15pm(the show starts at 10:30pm). We played bingo and headed right down after the session ended. I would say we were in line around 10:15, but the line just didn’t move. In fact, all of the general admission people were in before us. That is pretty frustrating! We probably didn’t get in until around 11:00pm. What is the point of paying extra to reserve a seat when you spend so much time in line? They need a better system. The nice thing was that the person who originally assisted me greeted me in line and gave us extra drink tickets for the wait and for bringing in such a large group. It turns out that they were celebrating their 6th anniversary at South Point. I was surprised at how crowded it was! I guess they have quite a following. I was a bit disappointed with our tables — they were on the side of the stage and right next to each other, but this left us quite separated for each other. Would’ve been better to have tables by the dance floor so we were directly next to each other. Oh well. Now for the drinks… the prices are VERY reasonable. They have specialty drinks for around $ 4, decent prices on shots, etc. However, they won’t allow you to use your drink tickets for ANY of these. After trying to order many things and having the waitress tell me no, I finally just got vodka cranberry out of frustration. This is not something I EVER drink — and I would dare anyone to convince me that there was actually any vodka in it. I swear it was 100% cranberry juice, which seems like it would be more expensive than the cheap vodka they are supposed to use. I ended coming out of there with a ton of extra drink tickets because nobody wanted to drink what they were offering… Overall, the show is fun and entertaining. The guys are funny, but very cheesy. They are great musicians and I am not sure I understand the«schtick.» They are dressed more nerdy than 80s… Anyhow, they put on a decent show. It was fun to dance and watch everyone else. They also have 2 go-go dancers. One of them is really good and«in to» it. The other was either drunk or really doesn’t care. She attempted to sing along to songs and look enthusiastic, but looked more lost. It was kind of sad. Anyhow, they gave away prizes throughout the night — free booze(useless drink tickets), dinner for 2 at Don Vitos, etc. Then at the end of the night, they crowned the Prom King and Queen. They picked people out of the crowd and had a dance off on stage. Our very own Ty W. and Lore D. were chosen and rocked it! They finished 2nd and won dinner for 2 at Silverado Steakhouse. They totally should have won! I am not sure if it was their typical show or they played longer because of the anniversary, but they played until about 12:30 and then took a small break. They came out for a 2nd set and played until almost 2am! I was suprised. Not sure if I’ll be back, but it was a fun night!

The Spazmatics are a good group that play a variety of songs some that I knew. They started playing around 10:30 and ended their first set about 11:50. Shortly after that, I left and made my way home. The following the band has makes the evening a lot of fun, too! There were a number of people dancing in the area in front of the stage where the Las Vegas showroom style tables and chairs had been removed to make room. We had a group reservation so we were seated in the two large booths stage right. We also got two drink tickets with the admission. The guys in the band are very active as they play and sing, moving about the stage and engaging the audience. Many in the audience dressed in 80s style clothes to celebrate the Spazmatics genre. The only suggestion has nothing to do with the group. Getting seated for this even by the South Point showroom staff was slow. When you have VIP tickets, you’d think you’d be in early. You’d be wrong. All the general admission were in before us. I don’t think I’d go back and see them again and I certainly wouldn’t wait to the early hours of Sunday for their second set. They are worth seeing once.

Do you like 80s music? Do you have a fondness for nerds? Do you like to dance? Do you enjoy a great live performance? If you answered yes to any of those questions, Spaz is the performance for you. It’s an all-80s cover band — and they’re, like, totally awesome, and actually really great. And they dress like nerds and are comedic on stage. The crowd always gets into it. Plenty of dancers out in front of the stage and plenty of spectators and just listening and enjoying. It’s a cheap, good time — and not to be missed.

I was here on a Saturday night and got to see the original group. These guy’s are super fun, high energy, and very talented… they know how to keep the crowd engaged and singing along! This particular venue is much better than the small venue I saw them at in So Cal… the South Point Showroom is big and has a large dance floor with plenty of room for those crazy 80’s dance moves… haha We bought the $ 20VIP tix which includes 2 drinks(the cheap drinks) and flashing glasses(dorky but fun)…they have tables and booth’s…people were fighting for the booth’s but it really does not matter because if your anything like me, then you rarely leave the dance floor because your busy raising the roof and totally holding on to that feeling! THEBESTSHOW! I seriously think they changed my life! More than just great musicians, they are funny, entertaining, smart and did I mention FUNNY? Great songs, each one a memory and just an all around amazing band. I sang along to every song. What a great time! I will SEEK them out and go see them again!
