Renewable Energy Electric

we signed our contract with renewable energy on september 23, 2015. the contract was for 42 714.14. our contract stats 90 days. it is now february 1^st and still no progress. i have been in contact with jason on several occasions. in december i was told the installation would be set for january 9 no earlier. january 9 came and went. then i was told it would be within 2 weeks that they would order the panels and that would take apx a week to receive.. that came and went. the latest we were told was the solar panels were on back order but they would schedule the installation of the equipment, brackets, ect so when the solar panels came in it the house would be «ready to go». still waiting for that call back. i called the company today (feb 1^st) and received an email reply from jason and derek via joshua. the new installation date is supposed to be before or on february 23, 2016. this is the 4^th installation promised date from this company.

Well apparently some folks have been fortunate. Not my husband or me. Contract was early August 2015 and the bank gave them the initial deposit of $ 4880.50. We have yet to get anything done. Our contract with the bank expired 12÷8÷15, we recently found out, but we are responsible for repaying the amount in full by ⁸⁄₂₀₁₆ if we don’t want interest accrued.
After SEVERAL unreturned phone calls we finally got one this month. We told Josh we want this paid in full to the bank immediately. Did the company use the money to merely fund another project? January 11,2016 we were advised the owner and manager authorized payment to the bank. I called the bank 1÷25÷2016 and they have not been paid.
We called the company the 25^th, 27^th and today and are still waiting for a return call.
Next step for us is Channel 8!!!

I signed a contract with REE on August 15^th and they deposited the check I wrote on 8÷21÷15. It is now 1÷28÷16 and I still don’t have my solar panels installed, up or running! That is 165 days and counting. This company does a great job of signing you on and taking your deposit. There sales reps are attentive, and as soon as you write a check, service evaporates. I would say I have gone back and forth with them, but that would entail them returning my calls and communicating. I have reached out to sun power, their parent company today and they are the best customer service I have had so far as they answered my phone call and seem to want to work to figure this out… I’ve hit delay after delay with this company, and I will edit this review to detail my entire experience. I just wanted to at least get the message out there of my experience with them thus far.

One last update: the system is finally on and is working. The system has not had any problems. But I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy, hahaha. Seriously though this company may not be a scam but I thought it was at one point that should be enough to hopefully discharge you from choosing them.

I spoke with the manager Derek shortly after writing my initial review. He looked into the events that have occurred with our project and has assured me that the install is set for Jan 8^th, 2016. I spoke with Derek again today and he stated that the installers would be out to our home in the next few hours. I advised Derek that I would have no issues with updating my review should the install goes off without a hitch. I’m upgrading the rating from a 1 start to a 3 star for now as I am satisfied with the communication from Derek to this point. Once the install is completed today and the net meter is turned on (this part falls on NV Energy) I will comeback and update the review again. If all the panels fire up and work as we were told then I will have no problem with increasing the rating to at least 4 stars.

I have had solar for a year now. Every promise they made was a lie. Broken roof tiles. To installation time line. All they want is your money and as soon as they have that try to get them to call you back. I was told 90% coverage on my electric bill minus summer months due to cooling cost. I haven’t had a month yet w a credit. Then they tell you not to go w the nv energy incentive because you can make 500‑2000 a year on pec credits. Sounds great but again another lie. It took 7 months to even get registered w the pucn and the lady I dealt w laughed at me when I asked if she knew anybody in the state of Nevada that has gotten paid for their pec credits. She replied nv energy has bought all the renewable energy credits they need for the next 10 years. You don’t say. I called renewable energy and the guy I talked to had a different story. He told me you have to go through an outside broker to sell them and he didn’t know anybody off hand. Then there is the pigeons that live underneath the panels. Wtf. That’s my new alarm clock in the am the chirping of the birds at 530am. You don’t get that unless you ask. Another 659‑1200 on top of the 28 000 I spent on a system that made my energy bill go up not down. My bill was cheaper w out solar and add their shitty customer service and lies. Sounds like a bad ex. If you want solar go w another company!!!

We are very disappointed with Renewable Energy. We bought our solar energy system from Renewable, and have not received what we paid for. We paid for 38 panels, and only have 37 functioning panels. Their technical support and customer service is practically nonexistent. Phone calls are not returned in a timely manner, if at all. They cancel appointments for service without notification, leaving the customer hanging.
The installation was prompt, and appears to be adequate. We paid cash, in full, when the installation was complete, but before NVEnergy installed the net meter, so the system was not operational. While while waiting for the net meter to be installed by NVEnergy, and we had to make multiple calls to Renewable requesting instruction on how to monitor the system. After two months, Renewable finally provided the link to the computer site that monitors the panels, but no instructions.
When we connected to the monitoring site, it was immediately apparent that one of the thirty eight panels was not producing. It is not in the shade or in shadow, and the surrounding panels appear to work just fine. Renewable sent out their technician, who determined that the problem was most likely an optimizer, which needed to be replaced. Weeks later, after a delay because they do not stock the part, the new optimizer was installed.
The panel still does not produce energy comparable to the surrounding panels. We called our calls, they scheduled a technician to come check it out. The appointed time came and went, and their technician did not show up. We left another message, and received a message in return, that they looked at the monitoring site and couldn’t see a problem. Now we are waiting for their response to our e-​mail, which included a screen grab, with the problem circled, and a large arrow pointing to it.
We are very disappointed with Renewable Energy.
UPDATE, 8 – 14. No response to the 8 – 10 email. Called Renewable again today, phone answered by person who cannot speak clearly. Fortunately there was someone in the office who could. Were told that we were supposed to have received a call yesterday, that they had ordered another optimizer to replace one on our panel. They seem to believe that this is a different panel and optimizer, I explained that it is the SAME panel where they were supposed to have replaced the optimizer almost a month ago. Apparently, they may have replaced the wrong one. SMH. This has been playing out for almost three months, since the net meter was installed and the system went live. VERY Disappointing.

Hello everyone! My wife and I had our solar system installed 1 ½ weeks ago! The install and inspections went without issues of any kind, and we were able to have our net meter installed in just 12 days after completion!
Renewable Energy Electric was a pleasure to deal with. Every employee was courteous and did their best to answer all questions and resolve every issue. We are excited to be on the path to free ourselves from the dreaded «power bill».
Through our couple of months of research, we learned quite a bit, and received several estimates from several solar companies. During this process we met a great person, Andy Kaufman. He became our salesman from (Renewable Energy Electric). He is a family man and understands budgets! He was great even though I beat him down with questions. He demonstrated patience and worked to answer all of our questions. Andy also worked to get us the most competitive price. We have already referred several friends and family, some of which are also having them install solar systems. Please call Andy if you are interested in solar, and mention we recommended him if you don’t mind. Blessings to you!!!

This is the kind of company you would want to business with if you value professionalism and quality. I interviewed multiple solar companies before having Renewable Energy Electric install my system. I chose them because they really helped me decide if owning or leasing was best for my needs. Since I decided to purchase my system, they coordinated the financing as well as making sure I got full credit for Federal Tax credits. I love how I can monitor my system at any time from my iPad or smartphone!

I had a great experience! I have some badass looking panels on my roof that are ready to be powered up! I love them!
EVERYONE has been so fantastic at this company! Derek was our salesman and he was terrific! he was quick to have meetings, he explained things very clearly, he was ALWAYS available to answer questions! Even at 10PM. I can see the passion for solar with this team of people.
My first meeting at their office, they did the little things to make me feel comfortable, offered me water, and even walked me to my car after! I could really tell they cared!
I would say they were not the cheapest company out there, but they were not the most expensive either. I don’t want the cheapest because they didn’t have the same warranty or quality of panels!
Our panels were installed within a few weeks of our first payment. The plans were perfect, they look great, they were done in 1 day for install and then a few days for electrical and whatnot to come out.
i will always refer to this company as I’ve done my research and this is the best. My dad will be getting panels for his house from Derek and my brother just made his first payment today for his new panels! Our entire family supports REE and we are proud of it!

Another bad review for these people, Andy my salesperson lied all the time to me, made promises he never kept, and handed me BS that he and his manager are working on my proposal, three weeks later nothing.
I felt trapped as they where the only Sunpower dealer in the valley, But I found a new dealer who is coming into the area soon, and I am going with them.
Also once I went to there website, I started getting SPAMMED with advertisements from REE, on most every website I went on, If they would spend more money on customer service, and less on SPAM, maybe they would have a better rating.

PS: They have a 5kw System ‘deal’ for $ 10 a week, Its $ 10 MORE a week then what you currently pay for electric. (so it adds $ 40 to what you currently pay for electric a month)
PPS: Oh I forgot they also do this Scam, where they tack on $ 6000-​$ 10,000 to the price, then they offer you a «sign now» incentive of $ 6000

Now REE is threatening me «It also seems particularly unfair and unreasonable for you to attack our company through Unilocal when did nothing to damage you and only provided you with a preliminary quote you didn’t like. Unilocal has agreed to remove the unreasonable post soon.»

Do yourself a big favor and look at the reviews about Sunpower. These panels are expensive.
Back in November of 2014 Andrea came to give a bid, and she was off setting about 80% of our electric bill. The bid came in at $ 46,512 with a 12 year loan. I just can‘t see spending that much for solar. There prices are so outrageous I think .
Sales staff is rude I felt. When I said I didn‘t want to use there company because of all the bad reviews that I saw on Unilocal about Sunpower solar out of San Jose California. She wasn‘t very nice lets say they way she responded about it. You can‘t compare a car that you drive to a $ 50,000 solar system .
Since a relative was going to use them I figured maybe, I would try a different sales person since I didn‘t like the way I was treated with the other sales rep. I stopped by and talked with Ray. I called him a about a week later and I sent all the information to Ray. He said that they were having a sale with 4% extra off up until the end of February of 2015 and he never gave me a quote or emailed me back about the total cost. He wasted all my time emailing him copies of the power bill .
He did text me a few times in the beginning. But as soon as I questioned him more about the warranty then he stopped replying and never gave me more information
They don‘t even know what the warranty is correctly. If you call sun power direct you get totally different answers about the warranty that comes with the solar .
We are looking for someone who follows through from beginning to end and who is not rude.
If you want sun power panels, then try Legend Solar. They are in Las Vegas .
Otherwise I would look into the many other companies that install .
Or if your not afraid to hire a contractor that knows solar and is nabcep certified, then you could buy the system at wholesale prices delivered to your door and pay the solar installer to install them. You will still get the 25 year warranty on the panels you choose. That is what I am going to do. Save myself $ 20,000 doing it this way

We used them last year to install some chandeliers, pendents, bath bars and fans as well as outdoor lighting. We were so pleased with the owner and his employees. They were super efficient, polite, clean and best of all reasonably priced. The owner apparently is a long time resident of Nevada and has been working in the electrical field since he was a kid. He ended up advising us on a product that saved us lots of $.
It was obvious this year when we were ready to install solar on our house we would get a quote from Got Sun Energy. Out of three companies this was the only one we felt actually knew about solar and was a licensed electrician. The other companies were just salesmen. Jason the President came out to our home personally to explain to us our options and we are excited about the different ways we can afford to stop paying forever increasing energy bills from the power company and lock in our energy costs. We signed a contract right then and there. We should be running off solar in the next few weeks!!!
