Oasis Moving and Storage

I was extremely happy with my choice to use Oasis Moving & Storage. I had a couple of months between the end of my apartment lease and moving into a new house, and Oasis packed up my stuff and stored it for me. The price was very affordable and when my house was ready, they delivered my belongings right on time and with care. Thanks Oasis!

I GOT CONNED OUT OF A LOAD OF MONEY FROM A MOVING CONSULTANT NAMED ALISSA PLUMMER.
She signed me up for a move from California to Pahrump. I sent her my deposit, she deposited my check and the day of the move and the truck never showed up. She claimed that I had my days mixed up and refused to accept responsibility for her mistake and send another truck with a crew. There I was with my elderly parents who were very excited to finely be moving after weeks of preparation. I then had to explain that we weren’t moving today and I have to sign up another company.
Alissa was dishonest and very deceitful and told me that she would make it up to me on a personal level if I was ever in Vegas. So I called her one night when I finally moved my folks out there to see about meeting up with her. We met at the Paris for dinner and drinks. About two hours into our visit she gets up to visit the ladies room and never comes back. I thought she had left the casino, but it gets better. She was arrested for stealing a ladies purse while in the bathroom and was found with it in the toilet stall. When I went looking for her another couple told me that she was taken away in handcuffs. WTF? If this is the type of person you want to contact and trust your home goods with?.

Please do not use this company!!! If that’s even what you want to call it. After calling and scheduling a move, they wanted a deposit of $ 50 to hold the date and time. I drove all the way there, just to drop off $ 50. My time was the earliest in the day (7am-​9am). The day of the move, I didn’t hear from them. I called literally 8 – 10 times with no luck. The lady I was talking to said they had a problem with the moves before me, even though I was suppose to be the first of the day. I was 7 months pregnant (and had my other child) waiting on them all day, food packed up, tvs, everything. They ended up coming the next day, mind you, it was the day I had to be out. I got damaged furniture, scratched wood on my dresser, scratches in my leather sofas, and cracked the wood on my beds. I gave them $ 40 each for a tip, 3 guys, on a $ 400 move and they had the nerve to say something about it! I would NEVER recommend this place.

I’m not new to moving around here in Las Vegas. I’ve moved about 6 times in the duration of my stay here for only 5 years. At first, it wasn’t so bad since me and my partner didn’t really have a lot of stuff to bring with us in the first place, but then as time flew, we started to realize how each move just takes a bit longer than the previous. I can’t tell you how annoying moving is! Me and my partner promised each other that the next time we move, that we would hire movers to do so. The idea of moving up and down the stairs with heavy boxes is just not pleasant!
I don’t know what all the bad reviews are for as I actually had a pleasant experience with Oasis. They were very cordial, and the people that moved our stuff were constantly asking us where we wanted certain boxes to be. At one point, they can see that I was starting to get really frustrated since the moving wasn’t so pleasant so they tend to understand that part.
Nothing was broken from when I moved which was great because I would’ve been so furious!!! I’m blessed to just say that I’m overall happy with everything. I was at ease, and I hardly lifted a finger. Well, except for the actually putting all the items in boxes and organizing them that is. I didn’t mind that part, but the lifting and carrying. That’s beyond me. I won’t EVER do that again. I’m most likely to move again, and I don’t have any other place to hire besides this place.

One of the worst experiences of my life I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone!!! I would give them negative stars if possible! For any users who are considering using this company I will summarize a few things in case you do not wish to read the ESSAY I will be writing about this awful company.
1. The quote from the in home estimate was not kept the day they came to pick up even though the inventory remained exactly the same
2. The date they gave me for my delivery was not met
3. MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF BROKEN ITEMS AND RUINED FURNITURE!!!
4. STOLEN ITEMS!!!
5. Horrible customer service. I was lied to, hung up on, and disrespected entirely.
6. Remains to be seen as my nightmare is not over!
For those of you who wish to hear the full story I will go over everything below.
Day1 I called and received a quote that was similar to others I received from companies in the vegas area around $ 1100. My move was very small one bedroom apt from las vegas to San Diego CA. I absolutely demanded an in home estimate which I would recommend to everyone. They will tell you one price over the phone and double or triple the day of the move. Brian came to my home and gave me an in home estimate of $ 1500. Went over the inventory in detail to make sure there were no surprise fees. He assured me that everything would be included in the estimate. I paid the deposit to Brian that day and arranged the date for pickup.
Cut to day of move– a man named Dmitri came to my home and IMMEDIATELY pronounced that the original estimate was most likely incorrect and the price would go up. WTF!!! What choice do I have now? so they started packing my stuff and after some time he came to me and said thats it you have reached the limit for your 1500 quote anything else will be more money. I was forced to leave items behind because as I had explained multiple times i could not afford a price increase. Luckily friends saved the day and are storing furniture and belongings. Obviously extremely unhappy at this point but this is just the beginning. Discussed the delivery date with Dmitri who completely LIED to my face saying the 9^th or 10^th at the LATEST. He said this matter or fact and even told me to make sure and be there to let the movers in. So i take his word, pack my car with as much of the stuff they refused to take as possible and leave for SD on the date discussed. Day of scheduled delivery NO SHOW NO CALL. I called the company and a woman who sounded confused said that she would have to look into it and call me back. Never called. Next day I called again, and again, and again until finally someone told me my items were not even scheduled for delivery? It is in the contract that they have 1 – 10 business days after the requested delivery date. I was a fool to take Dmitri’s word as truth i suppose. Obviously very inconvenient being in a different state with none of my belongings and thats all I will say on that.
They delivered today on the 18^th and it was a MASSACRE. There were entire boxes that were nothing but crunched up glass. Beautiful hand blown glasses, vases, irreplaceable hand painted items by my mother DESTROYED! The boxes looked like someone was jumping up and down on them! Items in plastic bins with hard outer shells wrapped in newspaper and wrapped in towels for extra protection were broken I don’t even know how they managed it! This is not my first move and I did not improperly pack my items not one bit. This is however my first time hiring a company to do it for me. Everything was labeled DELICATE or FRAGILE GLASS with arrows pointing which way was up. Complete disregard. Furniture has giant chunks out of the wood, scratches, and stains on my mattress of unknown origin. And WORST OF ALL!!! STOLEN ITEMS! The most obvious was a piggy bank that contained around $ 80 – 100 worth of change and paper bills. It was broken and the money removed!!! I can tell the box was tampered with because the tape I used was cut open and a different brown tape was used to reseal the box. Who steals from a child’s piggy bank?! Im absolutely disgusted with the conduct of this company its unfuqnbelievable in my opinion. Like I said this happened today so I have not been able to see if anything else was stolen. I wanted to write this review ASAP in hopes that someone will read it and avoid this disgusting company. I will be filing a police report and official complaints with the BBB and attorney general. They stepped over the line when they murdered and robbed Mr. Piggy. I hope they get shut down and soon! I was really rushed and unfortunately did not look into the reviews for this company. I wish I had. They have another page on Unilocal with a «closed location» with hundreds of negative reviews look for yourself! I will include photos for your astonishment. Im so angry I wish I could continue explaining how HORRIBLE this company but I have exceeded the limits for a Unilocal review.

I give this company 1 star for having the most competitive moving price in Las Vegas. Originally I was going to go with triple 7 movers, because their price was low. However, oasis beat them out by $ 75 or so. I scheduled the move 1 week after I called it in. They came within the 3 day flexible window as agreed. Upon arrival, the movers were attempting to tack on additional charges. Initially I wasn’t ok with this. I called the front office and read my contract in email and realized that packing material could be charged additionally. With that said, the mover stated he used 12 rolls of tape and an obsurd amount of other material and wanted me to pay for it. I didn’t itemize the material he was using, so I let him have that one. He then claimed that I took up square footage than originally estimated. I asked him to prove to me that I am indeed using more. He was unable to do so. He had no metrics to show as evidence, so I refused to sign. He became extremely agitated by this. Eventually he waived the «surplus of cubic feet» and had me sign for the final price. I paid by credit card and he took a picture of my credit card information and texted it. A week later I notice charges on my bank account that I never made to my account. 2 were from
and 2 were from zoosk. I immediately called the fraud department and froze those charges. They are currently conducting an investigation on this fraudulent activity.
In closing, I do not recommend using oasis moving and storage. Trust user feedback. We are trying to warn you and prevent you from having horrible experiences such as ours. The decision is yours. Choose wisely.

Worst conduct I have ever experienced. Very rude and unprofessional. Hour late with no courtesy call. Called the office to complain and were told, «I stand by my driver». WOW. I wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy.

I hope there is a 0 stars for this company! If you are reading this review, you have been warned, just like the many ones over on Google and on Unilocal.Don’t know how this is rated 3 stars even!
Like all the previous ones mentioned, the sales staff is nice until they get your money. After that, all their nice attitude goes out the window. First shock came when they charged additional amount to transport my motorcycle, even though it was already included in the initial pricing of the contract. The rep. Mr. Neil Bard (don’t know if he still works there) promised to get it resolved and after several calls back and forth, it didn’t and I had to pay several hundred dollars more.
Second, the delivery came later than 3 weeks after due date. A lot of the stuff damaged including the motorcycle, which they charged extra for. They delivered at night 11.30pm and since we couldn’t check anything during the dark hours, I contacted the customer service later in the morning describing damage. Long story short, the damage compensation came out to a mere $ 46! They even lost a couple of our items and that costs more than $ 46! I filed a complaint with with better business bureau and with arbitration and all of them sided with Oasis only because I signed for the motorcycle at 11.30pm at night. Upper management was unhelpful and customer service during this whole process was horrendous.
DON’T EVER USE THEM. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED AGAIN.

Moving is always a tough experience — I’ve moved cross country and overseas numerous times and I have to admit moving my home within the same city was the least favorable experience I have had. First the positives: They were responsive to my call and professional on the phone and scheduling. They followed up before my move to confirm their arrival. The truck driver called and confirmed prior to his arrival as well. Although the three man crew were professional in dealing with myself and my husband their packing lacked the expertise to protect our furniture throughout the move. It took them four hours to pack the house, most of which had been pre-​packed by ourselves — kitchen was the only area they were responsible for actually packing boxes. They failed to pack everything — left pans in a cabinet, three drawers weren’t packed, and they packed none of the rubbermaid shelving which they were told to pack everything from the cabinets identified. Their method of moving and only having one person move pieces that should have had two men working together to get up stairs and in the house caused issues — which we weren’t made aware of until after their departure and we found damage to three pieces — and damage/​scrapes to doors. It is unfortunate that their skills and care for the items that they are moving isn’t equal to the professionalism that I received over the phone. Would I use them again or recommend them — maybe for an office move of boxes, but never for more personal belongings.

Worst Moving Experience Ever!
I share my story to save anyone else from the nightmare we lived.
We hired Oasis Movers based on a recommendation of a friend who had moved cross country prior to us. We were moving from west coast to east coast, which we had done 2 years prior with no issues. At first we spoke to a very nice agent who gave us our quote and set everything up for us. We confirmed the move for July 31, 2014 and paid the required deposit. We were told they set up your pick on a 3 day window of time. We confirmed the dates would be July 29^th –31^st, we had to vacate our apartment on the 31^st so the dates worked well for us. They told us the driver would contact us 48 hours before the pickup and as of July 28^th we hadn’t heard anything from the movers. By the end of the 28^th I called the company due to concern. I spoke to the same agent I had previously and as always she was helpful and apologized that the driver had not contacted us. I was given our drivers phone number and called him right away he said he would arrive on the 30^th at 6:00pm to pick our stuff. The driver also let me know that we had been on his schedule for pick up on the 29^th and had disappeared from his schedule then reappeared for the 30^th at 6:00pm, he was concerned that he wasn’t going to have time due to his work day being too long. I found 6:00pm to be a very strange to time to load our apartment and unprofessional. Since most apartments do not allow moving after business hours. After this call everything went downhill and the nightmare of this company began.
The next call was back to the main office where I no longer was given any clear answers. I explained what the driver had told me and was then transferred to their dispatch department. They told me it appeared the driver was behind due to his recent drop-​off having issues. I then again explained that we have to vacate out apartment on the 31^st. They told us to feel free to call the driver ourselves for updates. We never spoke to the driver again. For the next 4 days we got his voicemail and no response. By the 30^th we were panicking, we made multiple calls to the office and was told don’t worry the drive will be there on the 31^st to pick up your things. The 31^st he never showed we called Oasis multiple times and was given so many different excuses I can’t even remember them all. At one point when we called it was going to random voicemails, obviously ignoring our calls. My husband finally called from his cellphone and some picked right up. The last 3 calls we were told the driver wasn’t going to come and he would be there the next day, we told them we can’t stay in our apartment what are we supposed to do. They told us we are sorry but there’s nothing we can do, that this wasn’t a normal situation for them. What kind of an answer is that! One woman told us they weren’t coming and I started to cry and she said” Now I see why I was told to make this call.” She had no idea what the situation was and even told me she was just told to call me and say they weren’t coming. Words can’t not describe the anger and fear we felt. We had nowhere to go and a house full of boxes. Thank goodness our landlord let us sleep in our apartment under the condition we had to be our early August 1^st. They had new tenants moving in August 2^nd and need to fix the place up. My husband then called Oasis back and told them fine come August 1^st however it has to be early in the morning. They of course said sure thing he will be there by 9:00 am, once again we tried the driver’s cell phone and straight to voicemail. The morning of the 31^st around 9:30 no one called and no one showed up. We were forced to get the last U-​Haul in the area and rent a storage unit. At 11:00am my husband called and cancelled the Oasis movers. Sadly they actually sounded relived. The best part is a 1:00 the driver called to confirm we had cancelled. Why hadn’t he every responded to us prior, hmmm makes me wonder. The added expenses were not cheap and the stress can’t even be described. We had to leave our belongings in Seattle for 6 months before we were able to hire the best moving company Mayflower. The best part is after this awful experience I contacted Oasis for a refund on my deposit, since they never did their job and was told they don’t give refunds. However she would ask her manger if we could get a refund given the situation. Once I heard back from her via email (which I have) she told me they would issue a 50% refund. We said fine just to have this nightmare behind us. To this day we never received that refund.
My advice is to never ever us this company. It felt like a complete SCAM!!! I have never been lied to or treated so absolutely poorly by a company.
