History

Established in 2000.

Lark and Michael opened Lovelace Manor in Oct 2000 after spending almost a year renovating this 1882 Second Empire Victorian Mansion. Since it’s opening Lovelace Manor has been host to 1000’s of guests from all 50 States and more than 30 Countries. Each guest room is named after women from the poems of Col. Richard Lovelace who is one of Larks ancestors and an acclaimed poet from the 1600s. Each of our guestrooms are decorated differently but each has private bathrooms and TV/VCR/DVD.

Meet the Business Owner

Lark and Michael M.

Business Owner

Lark and Michael moved to Pennsylvania in June 2000 to follow their dream of becoming Innkeepers. They most recently lived in Tennessee where Lark worked for Nortel Networks as a Marketing Manager and Michael was an independent computer consultant. Michael’s talents in home restoration can be seen throughout Lovelace Manor. With their roots in the South, they hope to offer a touch of southern hospitality to their historic Pennsylvania Victorian mansion.

One of Lark’s interests includes genealogy. One of her more famous ancestors is the great 17th century poet Richard Lovelace, whose works are found throughout the house. She is also an eBay enthusiast where she has been able to collect Lovelace patterned china, silver and crystal to compliment the furnishings of Lovelace Manor.

The McCarley family welcome you into their home and look forward to meeting new friends and extending their hospitality.
