This place is a gem! What a delightful stay we had recently while celebrating an anniversary. The innkeepers couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. Beautiful property and a well prepared full breakfast to wake up to. We were in the Bowman Suite and I highly recommend it!

I stayed here during July 4th weekend, and had a wonderful time! The house is beautiful. We had a very enjoyable visit. Scott and Diane, the innkeepers are wonderful people. The breakfast each morning was delicious, each morning we experienced a 3 course breakfast, homemade with fresh ingredients. Some of the ingredients were even picked from the garden at the inn. There was even a kitchenette we had access to during the day, which had PLENTY of delicious snack and beverages. The home is also beautiful, and the garden simply amazing. I wish I was as talented as the innkeepers, and could keep a garden as beautiful in my home. The price was also very reasonable. If I have another opportunity my husband and I will definitely be staying here again! We had a wonderful, and relaxing time.

On a lark, my boyfriend and I decided to go to Lancaster for our anniversary weekend(also July 4th weekend). Naturally, the holiday weekend left little available for accommodations but fortunately for us, we got the last room available at EJ Bowman House. We booked the romance package that included roses and chocolates upon arrival and a couples massage! The 3rd floor Bowman Suite where we stayed was just stunning: California King size bed, huge jacuzzi tub(this was particularly enjoyable for two beanpole people like us), giant flatscreen T.V., a Keurig, and mini fridge. It’s exactly what I was hoping for-a beautiful B&B full of history and charm with the ammenities of a contemperary hotel. The owners, Scott and Diane were laid back and lovely. Scott gave us a mini tour before he went out to tend to their gorgeous garden out back. They have a koi pond surrounded by all sorts of flora with tables and chairs for guests to enjoy their morning cup of joe or a night cap. Diane made us the most wonderful breakfast including a pear bread pudding and bacon and spinach quiche(I’m still dreaming about that pear bread pudding). Everyone just raved about her food and we had such a delightful time chatting with the other guests and Scott and Diane during breakfast. To me, what hits home with EJ Bowman House was all the little touches throughout our stay from the locally made goat’s milk soap in the bathroom to the list of things to do on Sundays that Scott printed out for us. Someone even performed some toilet paper art; the roll was fastened into the shape of a rose! So unexpected. Overall, the experience was a 11 out of 10. I’ve never felt so comfortable in someone else’s home. And I think that’s what makes Scott and Diane such great proprietors. They have their own annex in the house where they live and understand the separation between the guest areas and their own but they never make you feel like strangers in their house or guests even. You really just end up feeling like friends and that’s just another reason why we’ll be back.
