Established in 1990.

After being employed by Singer company for 8 years, Albert opened his 1st shop in the South Bay Area, and later on moved to the area of Lakewood since 1990.

The company witnessed how machines have evolved throughout the century. With this, Albert gained the expertise and knowledge of any Commercial and Residential sewing machines and vacuum cleaners.

Primarily the dealer of numerous sewing machines like «Elna», «Viking», Nechi, Brothers, Baby Lock, White Riccar and others!

As soon as I finished high school, I was employed by the Singer company. There, I learnt how to fix sewing machines. In my mid twenties, I opened my 1st shop in the South Bay Area, where I remained for the next 18 years. Later on, I moved to the area of Lakewood. I’ve been in this location for 21 years.

I have the expertise and knowledge on any Home & Commercial sewing machines. All the repairs are done on premises and they are guarantee to meet your expectation.

Are you looking for a neighborhood business that takes pride in their work? Is helpful and explains what work needs/​has been done? Repairs items in a timely manner? Has the nicest owner and friendly staff? Has the kind of service reminiscent of when good service meant something? Look no further, Albertson Sewing and Vacuum Center has it all! I love supporting local businesses and this place is awesome! The store is well stocked, but if Albert doesn’t have it I’m sure he can find it. Give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed.
I took a vacuum in that had been used in a house with a dog, the bag had never been changed! Super stinky! When Albert opened the canister he could immediately smell the stench. I told him I wanted to throw it away because there was now way I could use it, he said he’d fixed it. Boy did he fix it! There is not even a hint of any kind of odor. It’s fantastic! Albert even gave me me a bag of vacuum/​carpet scent for free. Great customer service and super nice!

I took in my serger because I was having problems and he gave it a tune-​up and basically helped me figure out it was me and not my serger that was the problem (that part was free). And I was very grateful for his time where he helped me get my feet wet with the machine. His prices were reasonable and I loved the customer service. I would absolutely go back. Oh, and while other shops told me that it would take a long time for turn around (2 weeks!), when I dropped it off here he told me it was ready next day! That was so important since I was in the middle of a project!

I found Albertson’s via Google and after I read the customer reviews, I decided to take my sewing machine to them for repair/​service. I am so unbelievably happy that I went to them! So friendly and helpful. My machine is gleaming clean and runs perfectly-​just like new. Albert, the owner, even took it upon himself and found a new case for it. This is how service is supposed to be. I am so, so happy with my experience with them.

I’ve had my Kenmore sewing machine for 32 years and it recently died. Found Albertsons Sewing & Repair. Dropped my machine off on a Saturday afternoon and it was ready for pick up on Monday. My zigzag feature was fixed and I now able to use my ruffler again! I got a complete cleaning and the whole thing cost me $ 129. Worth every penny and I’ll definitely be back when I need it!

a nice and helpful gentleman runs this place. he was able to fix my broken serger, which had been sitting on my shelf collecting dust for 5 years!
it was even returned to me cleaned up and looking like new, and now it runs like new too.
i didn’t do any shopping around so i don’t know how competitive the prices are, but it did not feel like i was overcharged or ripped off.
in an age where we tend to think things are disposable, and replace rather than repair, it’s nice to know that a place like this still exists.

I found Albertson’s while searching for a new sewing machine. As soon as I walked in, I was welcomed by the owner himself. I asked about a new sewing machine and what I needed to use it for. The first one he showed me, I bought! It was just what I needed. I had a brand new serger, that I didn’t know how to use, and I asked if he would take it in as trade. He did apply it towards my purchase. Now, I am a happy camper! His son works there too to help out with some of the heavier items. It turns out that he is Italian and so am is my family! I love supporting the «mom & pop» shops in Lakewood!

Very pleasant and knowledgeable owner who did great work with my computerized Janome (10 yrs old) several months ago. Price was the same as my previous repair shop, but Mr. Albert is friendlier, so I’d rather come to his store. Amazingly, he could HEAR that my sewing needle was new — he didn’t know that I just replaced the needle two days ago! Now, that’s experience at work!

This is a small, one man shop that has excellent customer service and stands behind his work. I bought a Bernina portable sewing machine from the same shop at least 12 years ago, and just recently had is serviced (for the first time) from Albert. He provided me with a written quote and had the machine ready, priced as quoted two days later.

I’m in need of a belt for my 43 year old Kenmore combination washer/​dryer… and I go to a sewing & vacuum repair shop to find it?
YOU BETCHA!
The original Kenmore belt has been NLA (no longer available) for many years. But surprise surprise, it turns out the belt from a certain Eureka commercial vacuum cleaner works as a suitable replacement! Whodathunkit, right?
I call around to different vacuum repair shops asking for the belt. Of the few places that stock it, the price varied nearly $ 7 from one to another. Wow.
I call Albertson and not only do they have plenty in stock, they’re only $ 3 a piece. SCHWEET!
Both Albert and his son were there, Albert remembered speaking to me and brought out the belts. They are friendly, direct, effecient and it would seem well stocked with a large number of sewing machines, vacuum cleaners and parts.
When my vacuum needs repair, or I need another belt for my washer/​dryer, I will go back it to Albert!

Just came from a great experience with Albert, and I’m happy to add him to my list of great local businesses I will frequent again.
I had just purchased an antique (100yrs old) sewing machine from Craigslist and it needed a tuneup. I took it straight from the Craigslist seller to Albert. He was familiar with the model (had another one sitting in the shop at the time), told me what needed to be done, I agreed to his price and left the machine in his care. A few days later I got a call from him that it was ready. I got the machine back, all shiny and purring smoothly in less time than he said it would take.
Now I can’t wait to try it out and see if I can mend a handful of things around the house that have been waiting for me to get a machine.

TRUSTWORTHY EXPERT.
This is where to go when you want service or repair done right. Albert is a gem of information, experience and skill.
He can fix almost anything. I knew I was in good hands when I saw that he repairs the Swedish made elnas. He also can do sergers and industrial machines. It’s a little like Geppeto’s workshop. I brought him a Brother with a ruffler problem He identified the problem as the ruffler, not the machine. That saved me a lot of time, trouble and money. I’ve got some experience with repair places; this is the real deal.
I’ll be taking all my machines to him for service and repair, and I’ll be buying my next machine from him as well.

I have a singer machine from the 70’s that I love. I wouldn’t let anyione else fix it. I have been coming here for tune ups and repairs for several years and am always pleased with Al’s excellent work. Most recently the plug wore out and Al fixed it perfectly. His service is prompt and accurate. Some time ago I brought my vacuum cleaner to be repaired and Al told me it was better to buy a new one than to pay to repair it. (I didn’t buy from him and that was fine) He has always treated me extremely fairly and the quality of his work is excellent

I went in this little shop and asked the owner I am looking for a vacuum that makes no noise. At first I was kind of joking. And what do you know??? They had one available. So I bought it. It was awesome. This vacuum works great. Sometimes I have to double check to see if I turned it off. Mr. Albert is a great guy and very honest with his work. His prices are fair and reasonable. Give this guy a shot and you will be pleased too.
