Established in 2007.

Mike has been in the moving business for over 30 years. He opened Safeway Moving in January 2007 and purchased state of the art brand new moving trucks to provide local moving services in the Orange County, San Diego, Riverside and Southern California area. A few years later he expanded the business to provide interstate moving services by getting a US DOT license and then expanded with vaulted full and self service storage. Safeway wanted to start on the right foot and stand out from other Orange County moving companies by providing the best customer service and fair pricing without any hidden fees. Safe-​Way truly provides the best customer service with a large number of repeat customers and referrals. When I worked for other moving companies in my 29 year career, I saw some business practices that I didn’t believe in. When I started my own business, I wanted to do things the right way. It is important for me to take care of my customers, make sure that my company is always held in the highest regards by every customer that we helped out and not have any of the issues that people may have with other moving companies. My passion is to educate the public as to what to look for in a quality moving company and give them a stress free move in every job we complete, as well as offer great pricing.

All of our employees provide top notch moving services and get the job done quickly to help our customers save money. Just spoke to Ron the owner of the company. He is a really really nice guy that really cares about his team and the integrity of his company. I called with a concern and he was able to go out of his way and really make an impression. I definitely would recommend their service. Moving is very expensive, but you get what you pay for. Matt and Gerry were so fast we couldn’t believe it! They definitely didn’t take their time.

Matthew and Travis came today to load our stuff into two storage vaults, and I have to say, they were absolutely fantastic. Really nice guys, didn’t feel uncomfortable with them at all. They worked quickly and efficiently, only stopping to eat the food we bought them after they had finished loading everything. We’ve already told a few friends and family members about our great experience today — I highly recommend Safeway!

I hired this company for a move from Orange County to Menifee. I used Unilocal to assist in finding the right moving company because you never know what to expect, and I’ve had bad experiences and heard worse. So, I gave Safe-​way a call and was immediately won over by Renay, who took my call. She was very personable and professional, and above all responsive to my needs. I reserved a 4 man crew with 2 trucks. The team was led by Scott and they were punctual, clean, and approachable.
Upon arrival, these guys walked around my house and literally began working within 5 minutes. They carefully wrapped furniture, disassembled, and put protective paper on the floors. The move took 2 days and by the end of the first day I felt like I had known these guys for years. That helped ease the stress of moving. They held my property over night and didn’t even charge me for that.
The delivery went smooth and again they were on time and immediately began working upon arrival. It’s been about a month since the move and I have yet to find as much as a scratch on anything. Not one thing was broken, stolen, or anything else. They treated my things like their own and treated me and my family like as if we were family.
You’re insane if you don’t hire this company. I have nothing but good things to say and highly recommend them to everyone. To Scott, Mike, Mauricio, and Eric, thank you for all your hard work and everything thing you did to make this move easy for my family.

Great experience with this company, we used them for a local move. It was 100 degrees on moving day but these guys worked hard for 9 hours! They arrived with a new truck, they were very polite, wrapped the furniture and best of all nothing was broken.

These guys are awesome! They showed up 10 minutes before our scheduled time and completed the whole job in around 5 ½ hours. For comparison, the place we hired to move us into storage took 10 ½ hours because they improperly assessed our needs and they only had to take the stuff 8 miles where as Safeway had to take it 50 minutes away. The crew was amazing! They worked extremely hard/​efficient and meshed really well. They had great attitudes and where extremely careful with our items. I cannot recommend them enough! As a side note, we have used them twice and only did not use them last time because they were not available due to us deciding late to use movers. Never again! They will be our first call.

Referred by a friend who hired them for their last 2 moves. We cannot be more satisfied with the whole process. From booking to the actual move date, they made it stress-​free and fun. Travis and Bryan are awesome! They took real good care of our belongings and they are real moving experts. They worked consistently throughout without showing any bit of exhaustion… plus, they’re fun to talk to. We’ll definitely recommend Travis and Bryan of Safeway Moving to all my friends and family!
9⁄23: I had to downgrade this from 5 to 3. Back in 8/​27, I sent an email out to their office informing them that we noticed that we were missing a piece of furniture-​an ottoman, plus a number of small items. Since we did not account for the number of boxes we packed, I am not sure if we unloaded all of the boxes (I was so tired that I forgot to check the truck before they left). I received a reply the same day saying that they have a «lost & found» and that they will check with the warehouse man to inspect the truck (?). I have not heard from them since. I guess, they are good from booking to actual move but after that??? Note that my initial review only covers booking to actual move. This update is for after the move. Travis and Bryan are still great. This is the first time (ever) that we used a moving company, as they were specifically recommended by our friends who move quite often. I am hoping we will not be needed movers anytime soon but, if we do, I may not consider them again.

These guys are awesome! We had 3 guys moving us from our apartment in Lake Forest to our new home in Trabuco Canyon. They were extremely efficient and did not take any breaks. It was also extremely hot that day and they were champs! They finished faster than we expected, which was great!
They also had such great attitudes and were making jokes the whole time with made the mood very light and mad the move way less stressful! :) They were great with our dog, Max and were giving him some attention too, which he of course loved!
We would definitely recommend these guys to anyone!

Mike, the owner called quickly and will work to squeeze a move in if at all possible with short notice. Rates are good but when they called to confirm my reservation, I was told cash only. I don’t like carrying around over $ 1000 in my pocket, so this was not an option and cost them the job. I went with Best Movers who take credit cards.

My parents moved two weeks ago and used Safe-​Way Moving and Storage. Safe-​Way Moving and Storage sent 5 guys and one big truck. They showed up, they loaded up the truck, drove to the new house, unloaded the truck and came back for round two.
They made a stop by my house to unload some furniture my parents were giving me.
They were fast, friendly, and easy to work with. Above all they were professional.
If you’re moving and need a moving company, I recommend Safe-​Way Moving and Storage.

It’s hard to figure out how many stars to give this company. A family member had 3 good experiences with this company. We had one really impressive move and a not very impressive move. Unfortunately the events of our second move out weigh the first.
During the first move they wrapped everything in plastic. Couch, mattress, everything that might get dirty. Second move, not so much. Even when we asked them to wrap our mattress and recliner in plastic they wouldn’t do it. So we asked them to please wash their hands before moving our mattress and recliner. Did they? Let me put it this way, if you need the movers hand print or fingerprints, we can still provide them from our recliner.
Then, they lost the parts to our older IKEA bed. Grant it the guy in charge of the crew that day took responsibility and made an effort to find them at the ikea store. However they don’t make those parts anymore. We slept on our mattress on the floor for a week before I finally went to the hardware store and found similar parts that worked and fixed our bed myself. This was after I called the company twice and the office finally told me the issue had to be resolved between me and the driver. No one has contacted me to follow up since my call to them around May 12, 2015.
I think it is hit or miss with the crew you get. We asked for the same crew for the second move that we had during the first move, but I don’t think it was the same guys. They mentioned it was a busy day and they had to hire extra help. So maybe that’s what happened.
I will say both times the crew showed up on time and they hustled to load and unload the truck. They took everything we asked them to take and even suggested using the bottom of the boxes that you hang the clothes in for odd shaped items or hard to pack items. They were always friendly and we never saw them standing around.
Everyone we came in contact with were very nice and professional. However they need to work on calling people back. Several times before and after our move we waited for call backs and had to call for an update.
Considering everything, if we move again we will probably look elsewhere even though we hate to take a chance with our stuff.

It’s a crime that I can’t assign this unbelievable gem SIX or SEVEN stars?!
Called them on a recommendation from a reliable friend.
The move was semi-​complicated. Move out of apartment/​garage in to storage unit and new home. They came, they packed, the price was economical compared to others… #truly
On day two, moving — we added moving stuff out of destination area and lastly going to Goodwill.
They easily adapted to modification — throughout their prices were realistic and fair! The move was so exceptional !!!
Shout outs to Scott, Mike, Garry, and Ken (who — Ken — by the way, can back a 10 ft width into a 10 ft 2 in space)!!!
You’re crazy to not leap to a decision to hire this company to move you forward if the need arises!
No kidding… They are that great!!!

Hired these guys to move a huge pirate ship set to and from church. There were some really heavy pieces, but they handled them well. Way faster than us doing it ourselves.
First day Scott and Eric showed up in the morning and I disassembled while they loaded. the whole thing was on the truck in 45 minutes. On Saturday, they came out again with Scott, Roy and Mike, loaded the set onto the truck in even less time, and had it safely in our storage locker in no time at all. Their trucks are clean and look great. Very professional.
Highly recommended. These guys can do anything!

I’ve just gone through the most stressful move I’ve ever had to make and decided to go with Safe-​Way Moving and Storage after researching companies and their reviews. From the moment I first called and spoke with Roy, I was very impressed with their professionalism and friendliness. As the moving date approached, Roy had me complete an inventory in order to get an idea as to what had to be moved and to estimate the cost. I even sent a few pictures of my place, as well as the storage unit I was putting my belongings in. Safe-​way quickly responded with an estimate (which turned out to be very accurate) and also provided many helpful suggestions to assist me as I prepared.
When moving day arrived, I was embarrassed because I didn’t think I was ready. However, the moving team (Eric, Cody, and Cody [yes, there were two Codys]), were extremely friendly and not the least bit concerned. In fact, they put me at ease. Eric and his crew were spectacular! They helped take care of the loose ends I hadn’t been able to finish and then packed everything into their truck with extraordinary efficiency.
When the truck was loaded, they then delivered everything to my storage unit, rearranged what was already in there, and then unpacked the truck. Again, they did this with incredible speed and skill — my friends who have since seen my storage unit can’t believe how efficiently things were unpacked.
I highly recommend Safe-​Way Moving and Storage without reservation. I’ve already recommended them to two friends and when it’s time for me to move my belongings out of storage, I’ll use them again.

I had a personal recommendation for Safe-​Way, and I was pretty much sold with the rave review from my friend. Then I came on to Unilocal and saw over 100 reviews, with a 5 star average. Wow, you’ve got to really have it together to average perfection… and they did.
Zack and Bo did a fantastic job, start to finish. Got there on time. Professional, nice guys. Great ideas and very skilled.
Had to pick up stuff from two separate places, so that complicated matters, but they took it in stride perfectly. It was a really hot day, and after we loaded up from the 2nd place, I told them they should take a break, grab some lunch, etc. I said I’d be more than happy to «leave the clock running», so they got paid for their lunch, as they completely deserved it based on how fast and efficient they worked.
They appreciated it, but said they’d rather just get it done, and that would be less expensive for me as well.
The delivery/​move-​in side went without a hitch. Nothing broken, everything in the right place, careful not to mess up the house/​walls/​carpets.
Couldn’t have been any better — seriously.
Oh, and the initial call/​estimate should also help you realize that these are the right kind of company that you want to move you. Very detailed, knowledgeable, and went over and made sure that I understood what «double drive time» (standard in the industry it seems like) was, gas charges, etc.
Use these guys — you won’t regret it. They’re awesome.

Gray, Cobi and another Cobi were helping my moving last Friday from irvine to irvine. They are just very awesome!
1. They came right on time, not too late not too early.
2. They less damage my new wall and stairs. (honestly, they did not damage at all.) I ordered some furniture from pottery barn in same week. The white grove some delivery guys made more damage than them. If I could, I want this guys move my new furniture.
3. Gray knows what new home owner wants. Like other reviews say he leads the team very well!
3. Both Cobi were working so hard.
I feel I am lucky to find and hire them. I definitely recommend them to my friends.

Safe-​Way Movers helped move my dad into his new place last weekend and I highly recommend them. The three men were super efficient and helpful — Gary was the lead and did an excellent job with his team. They were also friendly and very nice to my father. We found them to be very skilled and handled a complicated move very easily and with positive attitudes. They went above and beyond with some furniture that needed some gluing and repaired it on the spot.
If we need to do another move, I am definitely calling this company again.

I am not the one moving and I’m writing this review! My friend was moving from an apartment in Orange County to a house in Murrieta today. Nick and Ken were AWESOME! They were professional, on time, reliable, respectful, careful, hardworking and very personable. I don’t even think I ever saw them take a break (aside from stopping to hydrate in between boxes). They just kept going. These guys make moving look so easy!
