Couldn’t have worse ramen. Seriously, the 10c packs from grocery store are better. Yaki soba was«okay» per husband. Gyoza and boba tea decent. So maybe 1.5 stars.

Distasteful service, quality of food, and experience. I think I tried it before and said I wouldn’t return this time was a reminder. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. If going out is special drive extra or pay extra this place is a joke instead try Aloha Ramen if you want some real ramen it’s only 5 mins away.

This place is a small, local food joint that seems to keep pretty busy for the most part, so we figured it would be a good place for a quick lunch. We originally wanted yakisoba, but it turned out their menu options had shrunk to about 5 items, even though a much longer menu was displayed on the side. Disappointing, but we thought the chicken teriyaki was a safe choice. After ordering, we waited about 30 minutes for our food. During this time we observed the chef mix up orders and repeatedly apologize to customers. After finally receiving our food, we opened the box to find incredibly messy plating — chicken across the entire dish, with lettuce crammed into the side and watery sauce dribbled over everything. The chicken was tasteless and colorless. More like chicken teriyucky.

This used to be middling-decent mall teriyaki of the stir fry style(veggies and chicken stir fried together with a side of rice, not the sliced chicken and salad style). However they’ve recently changed their menu and perhaps even are now under new ownership. The chicken teriyaki I got today was the worst. The meat was boiled, dry chicken breast with a thin, disgusting sauce over unseasoned rice and with a side of salad with the grittiest ginger dressing I’ve ever had. I will not be back.

My party had general tso chicken special, and tempura plate for lunch. They were awful, in taste, presentation, portion, and quality, I lost all appetite even though I skipped breakfast and I was very hungry. It reminded me of a dollar Chinese restaurant from the 80s, at one of those places where the sauce is over saturated with salt, sugar, and other chemicals, and meat is days old, vegetable not rinsed, batter is inch thick, and where they reuse the frying oil over and over again…, one of those places where you vow never to come back. Likely won’t come back. The servers seem nice though.

The Singapore rice noodles ARE, in fact, awesome, and since I’m only up here about once a month, that’s what I order. It’s hard for me to believe that the rest of the food is terrible, and I’d give something like the curry a try, except that the noodles are so good!

I had the Singapore rice noodles and they were pretty well done. Good comfort food on a rainy(surprise) Seattle day.

A very sad katsu. Probably one of the worst I’ve had unfortunately. The rice to meat proportion was about 2 to 1. There as way too much right and at least 4 to 5 pieces of meat. The sauce was alright, it resembled some what of a katsu sauce. The pieces of pork were crispy on the outside however they were not juicy and tasted like nothing. It didn’t come with any veggies like a pile of cabbage salad restaurants usually serve…1 star. I also had their taro milk tea, twice actually. It tasted somewhat like taro but very light. Coming from LA, I honestly think that I haven’t found any good places that serve bobs drinks and milk teas in Seattle YET. I would give it about 2 stars. The chef and the front cashier were very nice. The first time the cashier even offered to still make me a taro milk tea when they were about to close. The chef was all smiles and made our food fresh. Good people, not very good food. Just a quick kinda Japanese joint at Third Place Books :/

Absolutely atrocious! I’m sitting here still wondering what the H I just ate… It was supposed to be beef yakisoba but did not taste like any kind of beef or yakisoba from this earth. The veggies tasted of freezer burn, the meat was mostly consisted of fatty tissue congealed with strands of meat. The gyoza were limp and lifeless. Tasted like they were microwaved… yesterday. I was really expecting a lot more from this place; especially since it’s one of 3 places to eat at this micro-mall.

I have had a lot of teriyaki and this place is one of the best! Their chicken and broccoli is delicious as well as their teriyaki chicken special! Great customer service as well. Overall, a fantastic place!

Same as Natalie S. feedback, I don’t get the terrible reviews on here. This is truly a reliable, delicious Japanese food court option I can rely on. I usually get the bento or Special #1. Portions are huge and I love how there’s a brown rice option! Gyozas and bubble tea are not to be missed also!

Well, I’ve read all the terrible reviews on here and frankly, I don’t get it, because we had a good experience! We got 4 entrees and an appetizer delivered to our house for less than $ 40(not including tip), a great value. Maybe we just ordered the right things? I got the tofu yakisoba and veggie spring rolls, and it was all delicious. My boyfriend was also very happy with his beef ramen and beef yakisoba. One thing we did do was we ordered extra vegetables in the yakisoba, which meant they added broccoli and more carrots for an extra charge. Maybe that made them better than they otherwise would have been. I will say that the spring rolls were more like egg rolls, but still tasty. And the service was kind of slow; the lady on the phone took 10 minutes to take the order, and the delivery took 50 minutes instead of the 30 they told us, but not too big of a deal. The funniest thing is that the cook himself delivered the food, with his apron on and everything! We just thought it was funny, but I guess I could see the potential for health code violations there. Still, the food was definitely tasty!

Great food with great prices, but they have recently stopped using silverware and dishes and instead have a policy of disposable dishes only. It detracts from the value pretty significantly, and makes it less green; disappointing from my favorite restaurant in Third Place Commons.

My grandmother lives in that area so I go to Third Place Commons often. I tried Kitto’s last week and it was really not good at all. I ordered three dishes for takeout: teriyaki chicken which was just terrible and had zero teriyaki taste, broccoli and chicken which tasted like rancid sesame oil, and the pineapple rice, which had no pineapple, contained shrimp, which is not mentioned anywhere, and was gross. I ended up driving all the way back to return the food because it was just that bad. And we have a pretty high threshold for mediocre food when we’re really hungry. The cashier and cook were nice about it but they had to bring over the manager and she was not at all interested in resolving the situation, hearing my very politely delivered feedback. She dug through the fried rice for 2 minutes trying to find some missing pineapple, and repeatedly told me every restaurant makes the dishes different, like I was daft or something for questioning the taste of the food… she was rude and I took the high road but really wanted to tell her that yeah, I know every place makes a dish different… some make the food edible, unlike at Kitto. Every place messes up now and then, and even though the food was bad and my order a bit screwed up, I may have given the benefit of the doubt if they had remade the dish well and given decent customer service. But that manager was not at all nice. I’ll never go back and I will be sure to tell as many people I can that this place does not deserve their business.

I saw the bad reviews and figured that it would be hard to have a bad experience with miso soup and green tea bubble tea. I was wrong… The cashier was very nice and I was really excited about this«good experience.» Then the miso soup arrived, and it was pretty good. Hard to mess up miso soup. I was still pretty happy. Then the bubble tea arrived… and a bunch of it ended up on my coat/jeans. I’ve dealt with many similar straws and sealed lids before, and I have never had it spill everywhere like it did this time. I’m not sure if they put too much in there or what, but… I was pretty annoyed. After cleaning up as much as I could, I took a sip. It seemed… fine. I took a few more sips, and it was… tolerable. I took a few more, and… it was disgusting. Tried again and just couldn’t drink any more. I have never had that experience with bubble tea before! Final thoughts… the cashier might be nice and I *might* stop by for miso soup again if I happen to be in the building and craving miso soup(it happens), but I’ll never make a point to return and plan to never order anything else from the menu.

Slow, rude, and not very tasty! Bought certificates and manager would not accept them. She claims she now does not take the certificate on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I asked her to show me where it said that on the certificates and she could not find anything. She claims she used to take them. I explained that when I bought them they were good for«any day and dine in only». We discussed this for several minutes and she would not honor the gift certificates! Of course this all happened after we ordered at 7:00 pm and my whole family was there and ready to eat.

I’m afraid I have started noticing Kittos going down hill now. The fried rice, which I can usually depend on to be delicious, was super salty and unimpressive. I also had some Walnut Shrimp, which was okay but not as good as it used to be. Less sauce and walnuts, more broccoli and way too much rice. It might have just been this trip, but I’m left feeling disappointing.

I had a bento, and nothing in it was good except the egg rolls, which were just decent. I figure with all the chicken teriyaki options in Seattle, they should at least be comparable, but it wasn’t even close. It tasted about as good as a frozen chicken teriyaki bowl that you heat up for lunch when you’re in a hurry. The spicy tuna roll was so sad looking, and tasted about as bad as it looked. The only thing I really enjoyed here was the bubble tea. Also, I noticed how slow the food arrived. I was with people who bought food from two other places in the food court, and even though I was the first to place my order, I received my food more than 5 minutes after everyone else did. Not eating here again, especially when there are much better food options in the same food court(notably Honey Bear Bakery and El Oso).

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I had chicken udon, and opened this Unilocal account with the soul purpose of hopefully keeping at least one person from making the same mistake. Bland soup, with a few crappy udon noodles, onion slices, and darkmeat chicken. My friend got the sliders at the BBQ joint next door, and was so unsatisfied, he had to go to yet another place, the honey bear bakery, and got yet another shitty meal. If your hungry in lake forest park, do yourself a solid, and stay away from third place books. Try lake forest bar and grill, or head over to edmonds.

My sister and I bought a Groupon for it and didn’t realize it was in a food court inside a bookstore that felt like a community center. It took about 20 minutes to get our food — from a food court restaurant! That’s ridiculous to me! And when we did get our order, it was not good at all. My beef teriyaki didn’t taste at all like teriyaki. It tasted like they just cooked up some cheap flank steak and poured soy sauce over it right before serving up. My sister had a unagi roll — meh Yakisoba had mushy noodles and the pork was just so so. Overall, being in a food court isn’t an excuse for mediocre food and I was highly unsatisfied with the meal.
