Absolutely loved this place. Had the Chicken Katsu bento recently. My wife had the Spider Roll and Tempura Roll. Not only was the katsu perfectly fried, the portion was large. The accompanying tempura was also delicious. Rolls were good. Overall the value is here. Free tea. They have a great take out business. Will definitely keep coming. Great gem in Shoreline.

Ichi Bento is AWESOME! The dinners are huge — one dinner last me for a two meals. [Of course, appetite is relative: my 30-something son will devour two dinners in one sitting.] There’s always WAYMOREMEAT than rice(some restaurants have really small amounts of meat and a lot of rice). Most meals come with a FRESH salad(fresh, crisp lettuce) with a nice honey/mustard dressing. I usually get take-out, but occasionally I’ve dined-in and it’s always a nice, peaceful experience. This is a local family owned and operated business and I like to support that whenever I can. The staff is always delightful and cheerful.

Pretty good stuff. Convenient, quick, lots of parking, always open tables. Would rate five stars, but I’ve had a few misses here; like dishes that were just okay, and times they messed up our order. They also treat their hot sauce like a fine mineral they’ve personally mined for(not the stuff on the tables– the delicious gold they keep behind the register). Additionally, the bathroom is a really weird situation… I’ll just leave it at that. Luckily, the food is really good, it kinda helps you forget about the many quirks of this place. All in all, it’s worth it and i continue to be a returning customer.

Can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place yet. I’ve been coming here for YEARS(probably a decade +). HUGE portions for great prices. Usually $ 8 tofu yakisoba is three meals. Boyfriend usually gets the bento which is 2 meals for $ 10. Their teriyaki sauce is to die for. Small interior with some fading seating but it leads to a little bit of charm :)

Ok, if you only eat chicken teriyaki. We got a bento box each and the tempura veggies were all Soggy! The shrimp tempura NOT tempura it was just breaded/fried. Yuck! The salmon teriyaki was fishy! How does this place have 4 stars? Seriously nothing about this place is good. Sad! Don’t waste your money.

Ichi Bento is the perfect cheap teriyaki joint. The Bento Boxes are huge and include a generous portion of meat, rice, sushi, miso soup and salad. Enough for two meals. The location next to the post office, across from Safeway on 15th Ave NE in Shoreline is pretty easy to access, plenty of parking. Call ahead for takeout, they are fast and nice.

Sad to say, despite the 4 star status, the only thing this restaurant has for me is location(the next nearest teriyaki joint is too far away for«cheap teriyaki night»). I ate here once with friends and once with boyfriend. One vegetarian dish had a weird aftertaste(soap?), everything lacked flavor, even the wasabi, and the atmosphere is too dingy to compensate.

I LOVE this restaurant, it’s become my new favorite dinner spot! Great prices for huge portions with great service. My boyfriend and I each get an entrée whenever we go but we always have leftovers. The first time we went, he got the chicken katsu bento box that was MASSIVE and I ordered the tofu yakisoba that was perfect. Both entrees were massive and so tasty. We went back again recently and shared a yakisoba dish and we were full afterwards so the portions are pretty nice. I would recommend the tofu yakisoba to everyone since the tofu tastes like crunchy delicious balls of heaven. Great service, huge portions, nice prices. Love this place!

Have been here numerous times in last 10 years. Food is consistently good. Last night tho, think the chef«forgot» my order because the 10 minute wait was 25! I will be back. Is definitely a pleasant experience to eat in occasionally. Especially if unwinding at end of long day, and you just want to read the newspaper or a book and chill quietly.

It’s very good with lots of flavor portions seem a bit small! The décor is a bit bland and the place seems too hot & muggy in the summer months to dine or even stay and wait for your order. When you call in your order you can roll fast to any place especially Log Boom Park where the view is most excellent!

Ichi Bento isn’t a five star restaurant when it comes to taste. It’s your run of the mill American Japanese bento place. However it provides some of the quickest service I’ve come across in Seattle. All without lowering quality. I’ve been to this place many times and each time they have been consistent in taste, services and price. So if you your looking for a quick bite without the surprise of subpar quality then Ichi Bento is for you.

Wow!!! I think this is where Unilocal let us down. We saw the great reviews and thought we would try a new sushi place. This place was disgusting. The service was terrible, the food was dismal. I hope that they turn it around, because this was the worst sushi that I have had. Wife ordered the salmon teriyaki bento, I ordered the teriyaki chicken bento and we couldn’t find an item in the box that could be considered edible. Really dirty looking place, bad service, and terrible food. Try Chiso, O2 or virtually any other sushi restaurant, but skip this until they clean up their act.

Delicious! A lot of food in their $ 10 teriyaki bento box, and very fresh. It came with 8 pieces of teriyaki shrimp, a huge portion of tempura veggies/shrimp, a fresh salad, 4 pieces of California roll, and fluffy, warm white rice. Soda was $ 1.30; the service was fast and polite. Will be back!

Decent teriyaki joint. Pretty much has all the standard menu items you would expect from this type of place. The restaurant itself seemed to be clean and well organized and the service was friendly and welcoming. Not the greatest teriyaki meal I’ve ever eaten but it definitely served it’s purpose.

I went here today for the first time just trying to find a good consistent teriyaki place close to my place. It was mediocre. I got the chicken & Katsu combo. The salad was a little wilted and very small. There was much more Katsu then teriyaki by half. Which usually is not a problem but the Katsu had a different after taste like they use something different then other places I have been. It was all just kinda blah nothing special. I admittedly only tried this and maybe they have a real gem on the menu like the spicy chicken, it seems that is what most of the pictures and reviews are. I will most likely try this place again it is really close to Safeway and the post office.

I wanted a new place for teriyaki. A good Unilocal rating and close proximity to my home made Ichi Bento a good place to try. I hadn’t seen the place before so I was looking for it as I drove. I was going slowly and it was a good thing as their sign wasn’t lit. I momentarily thought they were closed. As I pulled into the lot, I saw the open sign. There was plenty of parking when arrived. The interior was charmingly out of date. The dining room was about 80% full. The lady taking orders thanked me for waiting although the wait in line wasn’t bad. I was impressed. I ordered chicken and gyoza combo to go. The cost was typical for teriyaki(affordable). I sat down to wait. I noticed the bulletin board next to the door so I got up to check it out. Lots of business cards. The only thing that struck me was a big sign for an event that occurred 7 months prior. No harm but it’s a pet peeve of mine to have outdated stuff posted. I sat back down but I didn’t have to wait long. The food was ready quickly. The parking lot was full when I left so I guess I beat the rush. Arriving home, I was looking forward to eating. The salad was in a separate container which I really liked. Most teriyaki restaurants put the salad in the same container which makes the salad warm. An additionally benefit, the salad dressing was in a smaller container so I was in control of the amount I used. The dressing was tasty, too! The gyozas were good. A different flavor than I am used to eating but yummy. The rice was acceptable and cooked properly. The teriyaki sauce was a little weird. It had separated so first liquid poured out and then a lump of thick teriyaki pudding fell out. It was off putting but I smeared it around and hoped for the best. The teriyaki sauce was fine but a different flavor than I’m accustomed to eating but good. Chicken was moist and tasty. The portion was generous. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to give the place 3 or 4 stars. I guess it really is a 3.5 in my book and so I rounded up.

Very much a local joint. We stopped in on our way to a job at the airport in Bellingham from Seattle. My coworker noticed the Christmas icicles still draped on the eves and wondered what could be contained within. It’s well off I5 so it’s more than a quick stop but worth it, I think. The older lady and man servicing the counter and kitchen are cordial but austere like the couple in American Gothic. The interior belies the aging storefront: clean and neat. The menu is American Teriyaki: gyoza, egg rolls, tempura, udon, teriyaki, yakisoba, fried rice and a few sushi rolls. They have serve yourself drinks in a cooler, water, soda fountain or hot tea. We took a chicken teriyaki and shrimp fried rice(because other reviewers’ pics looked so good) for less than $ 17. The served up the teriyaki quickly and the fried rice several minutes behind. I loved my rice! Plenty of shrimp, egg, vegetables including green beans and lima beans(interesting). Not salty or greasy at all. Just scrumptious and minimalist the way I like it! If this were close I’d come here often!
