Mathnasium instructors use our unique assessment process to determine (with great accuracy) exactly what each child knows and what they need to learn. Next, we design a customized learning plan for teaching the concepts the student needs to master. It doesn’t stop there — our encouraging instructors continually check progress along the way to make sure kids truly understand and retain the concepts we’ve taught. History

Established in 2010.

More than thirty-​five years ago, Larry Martinek was inspired to find a better way to teach children math. As a teacher-​trainer and consultant in public and top private schools, and father to a mathematically gifted son, Larry possessed an incredibly comprehensive view of education. In his work with both stellar and struggling math programs, he clearly identified a common theme in mathematics instruction: a «serious disconnect between students’ basic skills training and the curriculum they are expected to master in the years to come.»

Mathnasium of Laguna Niguel is a sister learning center to popular locations in San Clemente and Dana Point. The staff that runs Mathnasium of Laguna Niguel has been providing the Mathnasium program to children in South Orange County since 2006. We have helped hundreds of students learn math in a way that makes sense to them.

Mathnasium Master Certified

Carrie received her Bachelors of Science from Cal State Fullerton in Child and Adolescent Development emphasizing in Adolescence. She also holds a minor in Mathematics. While working on her degree, Carrie tutored elementary, middle school and college students assisting them with fundamental math concepts, Statistics and most everything in-​between. Carrie’s only daughter will graduate from San Clemente High School in 2016 and is trying to decide which path she wants to follow when she enters college. Carrie loves Angels baseball, cooking, camping and reading. She’s also a huge Star Wars fan who owns many collectibles ranging from figurines to postage stamps to the original movie posters.
