History

Established in 2009.

Doug the owner started out plumbing in 1998. He plumbed new homes from the ground up & huge remodel projects. Doug and his wife Tonya had a small dream of running their own company. It all started with a purchase of one van & a drain cleaning machine. We’ve been fortunate to have such great support form both the plumbing community & all of our amazing customers! We strive everyday to provide the best service possible.

Around the Clog has saved our basement several times. Doug is the fastest and most competent plumber we have ever worked with. You get in trouble– he and the men are there fast– super friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are very reasonable– we don’t need anyone else! Highly recommended as honest and trustworthy plumbers are hard to find these days.

The plumber came twice. (Didn’t get the job done the first time.)
Both times something disappeared from my home when he left. I called to find out what was going on, they blew me off acting as if I was in the wrong to dare ask this.
Rude, disrespectful and unprofessional.

Around the Clog took care of a clogged sewer line from my house to the street on a Sunday afternoon. The technician was courteous, efficient, and thorough. I felt like I was treated very well, and would recommend Around the Clog for regular or emergency sewer cleaning.

Excellent prompt service and at a reasonable price. I arranged to replace 3 toilets to taller and better flushing models. After checking what I had he only replaced 2, as one was a only slightly lower that the tallest available saving me the price of one unit; excellent.

From start to finish, Around the Clog was the most helpful, friendly, effective and HONEST outfit I’ve ever dealt with. I’d wager that Doug and his crew are the only honest plumbers in Boulder, probably in the US. Doug did the job we needed him to do at the price he quoted. He actually went well above and beyond the scope of what we initially needed him to do; he could easily have told us a higher final cost to justify the time he spent at our house, but he stuck with his original quote which was incredibly reasonable to begin with. What a rare, first-​rate experience!

This crew was incredibly efficient and came late on a Friday– on a holiday weekend –to unclog a pipeline. They returned to fix an aging sump pump that they checked on when we had the back up. They are very fair in their pricing and good at their jobs. They advised fans etc to dry out the floors and were very helpful.

Doug is THE plumber. I can count on him for anything that water goes in or around. He’s helped me out several times in the past, and today, he hooked up my new sink and faucet, and helped me wrap up the installation of my new dishwasher. He does great work, and always seems to be having a good time. I can’t wait to have him back to help me with the plumbing when I remodel the basement!

Great experience with Around the Clog. After our basement flooded, they were onsite within the hour. They determined it was our main drainage and repaired it without additional parts and for an extremely reasonable rate. I would absolutely recommend them and will use them again.

Wow!!! What other plumbers told me couldn’t be done without re-​modeling my whole bathroom, Doug and his crew did it! I’m in a wheelchair and use a shower chair in bathtub because the stand-​up shower was too narrow of a space for a wheelchair in our condo. All I wanted was to have a new bathtub faucet replaced so my handheld shower sprayer could be used. Since we have a Roman bathtub with only one handle for on/​off & hot/​cold that was a push-​on faucet (not threaded like normal), plumbers from ALL AROUND Denver & Boulder were puzzled. Either they didn’t call me back or they were trying to push us for an entire re-​model of our bathroom.
Doug came over yesterday and, in 4 hours, they found the adapters and installed a better handle and MADE SURE it was user-​friendly for me.
I would recommend them in a heartbeat. Thanks, Doug!!!

I was really disappointed when, after reading all the great reviews of this company, and speaking to them by phone, and thinking they sounded like folks I really wanted to hire, and actually setting an appointment time for the following day, they completely stood me up. They didn’t call, didn’t show, and don’t pick up their phone. I’d love to know why, when everyone else had such great luck with them, they would be so disrespectful of my time. It seems to be endemic these days, to hire someone, and they just blow off the whole thing, don’t show up, don’t call. Why? Is that how they would like to be treated?
