Dr. Wei is a MASTER of the root canal — and I honestly don’t feel that statement even does him justice!
Ever since I can remember I’ve had horrific anxiety about the dentist. Needless to say when my dentist sent me for my first root canal I thought I would die! His office staff was so pleasant, calming and reassuring! I literally need to be semi-​sedated for cleanings sometimes so it can be bad. Well not with Dr. Wei!
He was AMAZING! I didn’t even feel the anesthetic being administered, absolutely NO PAIN whatsoever from my procedure! He was even done within 45 minutes and mine was pretty complex with extra calcification, a lower than normal root top and a root that decided to split three different ways at the bottom with the abscess also. He even made sure to keep checking on me to see how I was doing during the procedure as time went on. I actually was able to relax enough to even dose off!
I cannot say enough good things about him, especially for those like me who are just terrified when you have to have anything done. You absolutely should go to him and trust him with your root canal needs! He is a true artist of his craft and it shows! I can’t say enough good things about him! He is also a really cool, nice and humble man!

I really like Dr. Wei. He made sure I wasn’t in any pain. His music soothed me. He has a bright personality. Good person.

I have severe anxiety so needless to say I was panicking the entire way to his office. Got there and had a little panic attack as soon as I sat in the chair. But he really lives up to his amazing reviews. He reassured me and made sure I was comfortable the whole way through. I didn’t even feel him stick the needle in for the Novacane and usually that’s the worst part! He constantly asked if I was okay and talked me through the whole way. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so safe and comfortable at the dentist before. I would totally recommend him to any of my friends and family, and I would totally come back to him again (in fact I am for continuing treatment). Plus he’s affordable too! Five starts all around!

Dr. Wei is the BEST! He accepts the most difficult challenges and will do everything possible to save your tooth. I had several teeth that deteriorated over the years that other dentists said had to be pulled. Dr. Wei saved everyone of them and they now look great.
He is concerned about you the whole time and makes every effort to see that you experience NO Discomfort. I have had multiple teeth worked on over the past several years and every time it was a pain free experience. A teeth cleaning at my regular dentist is more painful then a root canal with Dr, Wei.
He is efficient and gets you in and out yet will take the time to work longer if that is what is required. He does not rush you out because another patient is coming in.
I will recommend him to everyone I know!

I’ve had many a dental procedure at other places and this experience topped them all. Pain free the whole time, smooth, and efficient. Root canal was not scary at all. I would recommend in a heartbeat. Don’t be scared he takes care of you!

I would have a root canal with him any day! It was painless, easy, almost pleasant! Really an expert at what he does.

I usually do not do reviews but I really wanted to do this review. I gotta say root canals arnt that bad when you have Dr. Wei working on it. My root canal was nearly painless. Little discomfort but Dr. Wei makes sure your ok throughout the entire procedure. Root canal took approximately 40mins from start to finish. I am very impressed by the nearly painless service I recieved. Very friendly and cool guy. 5 stars!

Awesome Dentist; took the extra time to really explian the procedure being done. The root canal was painless and timely. I almost fell asleep during the procedure. No one wants to visit the Dentist; however, if you have to go this is the place!

As far as having to have a root canal goes… They are NEVER fun that’s for sure. But I must say, that Dr. Wei was FANTASTIC. Very friendly, kind and gentle. Never felt the needle go in from the very beginning. But the whole time through out the procedure «are you ok., are you ok», made me feel comfortable. It was all over before I knew it. Great job, felt comfortable and friendly staff. Thanks again Dr. Wei. :)

I was really nervous to get a root canal, as it was my first one.
Dr Wei made this such a pleasant experience and he did it very quickly! 36 minutes total to do the procedure.
He was very friendly and funny, really helped me relax and not be so nervous.
He does an excellent job checking your comfort level and numbing you up for a pain free experience.
He also explained exactly what he was going to do and everything before he began. Just so I had an idea of what was happening.
Amazing at what he does, I would recommend him to anyone needing a root canal. He is an expert.

I needed a root canal for years which I has put off for as long as I could. I didn’t care for the endodontist who my dentist recommended so I decided to do my own research and I found Dr. Wei on here on Unilocal.He had outstanding reviews and the ones that I appreciated the most were the ones who said the root canal was totally painless. Sign me up! I called up and made my appointment. I had totally screwed up the time and was a half hour late but they somehow were able to still see me which I really appreciated. Karen at the front desk was extremely understanding and helpful. As far as the root canal went, I was given I believe 3 shots of novacane or some other numbing agent. These were almost completely painless, just a little pinch not too bad at all. As far as the root canal itself, it was COMPLETELY PAINLESS. No pain whatsoever! Talk about a pleasant surprise! Start to finish I think it took a half hour and the time actually went by quickly. I cannot recommend Dr Wei highly enough. I almost wish I had more teeth that need root canals he’s that good!

I have seen Dr. Wei various times for root canals (unfortunately) as well as my husband… My husband will be getting 2 this week… our dentist decided to refer to a him to a different endodontist… I said NO WAY! Dr Wei is the best there is in his field and trust me I myself have had a lot a work done in my mouth…

My dentist, who I value and respect, referred me to Dr. Wei. Master of the root canal is a simple way of describing who he is and what he can do. Unfortunately, I had two previous root canals so I knew what to expect… a lot of pain, being uncomfortable, and sitting in that chair for hours. I spent more time filling out that 4 page form than Dr. Wei spent taking an x ray, explaining everything I needed and he began working. I was in the chair for about thirty minutes and about 5 was me telling him stories. Oh and did I mention that I didn’t feel any pain. By no pain, I didn’t even notice that he had a needle in his hand and I didn’t even feel it go in my skin. I would strongly recommend him to anyone who values a virtually painless, quick, and fully functional root canal.

I lost a filling and had to have a second root canal. I went back to Dr. Wei and the experience was just as positive as the first one. All I ever hear are horror stories about other people’s root canals, but I can’t jump on that bandwagon. I even had a cold and he was totally amazing. His receptionist is also incredible, friendly people, expert work. What more could a person ask for?

I had my root canal done on Monday and it went amazing. I felt no pain and Dr. Wei was very quick. I highly recommend him.

I think in general it is hard to really rate a dentist or endodontist if you don’t truly have problems with your teeth, so I find many online reviews to be unreliable. I have trusted Unilocal too many times trying to find a good dentist… bad plan. I am not referring to a couple cavities or one root canal… I’m talking a mouth full of root canals, crowns and knowing more problems arise at every dental visit. That is my story… never had braces, have perfect appearing teeth, but they are AWFUL and cost me a bloody fortune. I have had my fair share of awful dentists and even worse, awful endodontists that gave me horrifically painful root canals because they couldn’t manage my pain (it takes quite a bit to get me numb) and took FOREVER to complete a root canal. I have very spider-​webbish roots and have found that not many endodontists cannot do a proper root canal for me.
Then I met Dr. Wei. He is like a miracle man. He acknowledged that my roots are wild and complex but he works quickly, causes me zero pain and I have never had to return due to still having pain or sensitivity. Recently, my youngest daughter had spinal surgery and I spent the first night in the hospital with the worst tooth ache ever, I literally cried. My dentist called Dr. Wei and got me in the same day I called. He was booked solid but agreed to remove the nerve from my tooth so I could function and be there for my daughter. I went into his office a total mess and walked out happy as could be. He is seriously the best. He is so kind and gentle too, constantly asking if you are ok or having any pain. His staff is equally caring as well. I have been to him 3 times and I know will spend much more time in his office in the future. I can tell you now that if I ever moved away for some reason, I swear I would travel back to San Diego to see him if I needed another root canal.
To top it off, he plays 80’s music in the office and sings along while he works… totally my style. Thanks Dr. Wei, for making a miserable experience, a little less miserable.

I just left Dr. Wei’s office as I write this review. I’ve seen him over the last 3 years via referral from Dentist. Dr. Wei is the only specialist I will ever let work on my teeth when it comes to root canals, etc. todays visit was an emergency and he was able to see me asap. long story short, I had an infected root. The pain is gone, he was very gentle and I am happy to say I feel 1000 times better. THANK U!

I had my root canal done earlier today by Dr. Wei. I had such a great experience, it compelled me to write this review.
I had a filling that was too close to the nerve and irritating it. I was in so much discomfort and pain for over a week. I saw Dr. Wei on Tuesday, and the root canal was performed on Thursday the same week.
He is very pleasant and funny. I really appreciate how he constantly made sure I was comfortable and pain free through-​out the procedure. It was really fast too! Getting my filling took longer than getting a root canal. The whole procedure took about 40 mins — from the time I sat in the chair to the time I got up.
I didn’t feel the shot to numb the area either. He does a great job of distracting you from the injection.
I would recommend Dr. Wei. He knows his stuff and he does a great job! Thank you Dr. Wei for taking away the pain! :o)
