Established in 1983, Torrey Pines Property Management, Inc. provides unprecedented property management services for San Diego residential properties and San Diego commercial properties.

Founders, Lawrence «Chip» Crandall, President; William C. Brehm, CPM, Vice-​President; and Andrew E. Nelson, Co-​Chairman joined forces in 1983 to collectively provide exceptional expertise and integrity in the acquisition and management of investment real estate. Since that time, Torrey Pines Property Management has shown consistent growth, developing a workplace environment of devoted and dedicated employees, a key component to the success of a service business.

Today, Torrey Pines Property Management currently manages over 2,500 San Diego multi-​family apartment rentals and several San Diego commercial and retail properties. Mr. Crandall and Mr. Brehm continue to oversee operations and the Torrey Pines Property Management team of highly trained personnel and Mr. Nelson serves as Co-​Chairman.

After going through all the files they called me and we’re able to go over everything with me and we were able to come to terms. They worked with me and went out of their way to fix the issue when they realized something was wrong. I want to thank them for that and now I am happy. They could have easily let me fall to the wayside but they didn’t. Thank you for that.

Torrey Pines Property Management is as good as it gets. We work as a vendor for this company and must say they are very consistent in keeping up on their maintenance for their properties. They get the job done and have the best interest of both the tenant and property manager. I highly respect Torrey Pines as a business and would happily refer them. Alex at the front desk is always a pleasure to work with. Friendly, very responsive and promptly follows through with all service. Jon Silva, Nicole S, Andy P, Rob L — just to mention a few are property managers that have continued to impress me.

I’ve been living in a Torrey Pines unit for over ten years now. Over the years the maintenance and upkeep has been on par. Going above the rest to improve the grounds and update the building. When and if there is a problem, Jon Silva is on the ball and jumps right in to get it solved. For instance last holiday break my heater wasn’t working. When Jon found out about it, he came to the rescue. While he was on vacation! Jon and Shane (maintenance) feel like extended family. I highly recommend Torrey Pines!

My wife and I just moved into a property managed by Torrey Pines Property Management. The move in process was fast, efficient and most of all friendly. The property manager «Jon» walked us through the entire process with a professionalism that you don’t typically find with most management companies. He went out of his way to make sure the apartment was ready and on time for us. We usually move often in San Diego to live in new areas and explore. If we decide to move somewhere else in the future, we are only going to use Torrey Pines Property Management from here on out.

I moved into my apartment complex a year ago now with Torrey Pines as the property management and I can say it’s the best service I’ve received to date as a tenant. There’s been minimal issues but when we’ve had them, we’ve gotten a response almost immediately and had it dealt with. They’re easy to reach whether it’s online or by phone. I also love that you can pay your rent online rather then deal with mailing it.
The water heater was leaking from outside into our house in the evening and because of the hour, I was sure we couldn’t get one until at least the morning… I was wrong. I called their after hours line and left a message and heard back within half an hour. They had a plumber there within 2 hours and had someone in to deal with the carpet first thing the next morning. We were super happy.
I’ve lived in places where I’ve had little to no service when it came to dealing with property issues and been extremely frustrated. it’s so nice to see a big company respect their tenants and take initiative. It really makes life easier when you have a happy place to come home to!

Overall my experience with TPPM has been pretty good so far — my newly-​renovated apartment is in good shape, my property manager has been friendly, maintenance has been responsive and the office staff/​receptionist has been helpful. I happen to know that the owner of my building is very good, which I think makes TPPM’s job easier — as well as makes for a good experience for tenants.
The only thing I’ve noticed is that it can be difficult to reach specific people with the company sometimes, so you have to stay on top of that. But I get the impression that they’re running around a lot (showing properties, etc. — the manage quite a few, I believe), so I don’t necessarily blame them.
I’ll update my review if anything changes, but after several months I would say, so far, so good!

Made an appt to view a place. Arrived at showing early to meet with Jason, the Leasing agent. A lady walked up from the street asking questions, as I’m standing there clearing my throat saying «I have an appt this morning to take a look at the place», to which Jason replies, «oh I guess you can go in with her» (the lady off the street)… Seriously?! When we made the appt, we were told that no one would be viewing the place without an appt, and we were the second ones viewing it. Jason proceeded to give this woman all his attention, I got one question in, before a another person walked in for a viewing. As I walked out he handed me a business card. He also wasn’t sure of the pricing or move in date. the workers were more friendly.
Very unprofessional in my book.

I was interested in them managing two units — called multiple times today 858−454−4200 and even the leasing # of 858.699.3851
Not only are they closed, or no one is available @ 2:30pm on Friday — but the 454.4200 # instantly hangs up on you. I tried from my office phone and also cell — over the past 30 minutes.
FAIL — will move on to Shore Management or another company. Shameful
*edit — Their response to my issue above is cut-​and-​pasted below. Did they try and make it better? No. Did TP Property Management instead try and mitigate the problem. No.
Did they decide to throw me — who they’ve never met — under the proverbial ‘bus’? Yes. Read for yourself this ridiculous reply, then you can choose if you’d like to do business with them:
«12÷15÷2015 As we are a great company, I can certainly understand your frustration at not being able to get a hold of us during a two hour phone outage in our area. We are very discerning in who we decide on taking as clients. Based on the resumé that you have developed on Unilocal,it is very unlikely that you would have been accepted as one of our clients.

We just moved into our 4th apartment with this company and couldn’t be more satisfied! The only reason it is our fourth is because we have changed it up to find the perfect part of the city for us. These 4 have been over the span of 7 years.
We have had the pleasure of working with Jon, Charity, and currently with Heather. We have had very few issues with the apartments we lived in, but each time we did the issue was addressed and resolved.
I would highly recommend this company to anyone who values a great landlord!

We currently live at the Villa Del Sole apartment, that Torrey Pine manages, but due to work I have to move from this great apartment. Since I had a great experience here we just secured a new apartment through Torrey Pines in Carlsbad!

Wow! They’ve been my management company for three different residences so far here in San Diego, and they’ve always been fast, thorough and most all, friendly. Nick, Taylor and Victoria always respond fairly to any issues and they made moving in and out a smooth process at each of my places. (That’s a rare find at the beach cities!)
Even when problems arose with «interesting» neighbors, they helped fellow residents and me communicate with them and get on living in a calm little community.
They’re even great with keeping up with landscaping, maintenance issues and they give a good heads up if there may be a water outage or anything else that could be a minor inconvenience. Highly recommended!

I moved from La Mesa to Normal Heights, and decided to stay with Torrey Pines Property Management. A good decision on my part. Moving is always stressful, but the transition from one TPPM property to another TPPM property was STRESS-​FREE.

Every experience I have had with Torrey Pines thus far has been a nightmare. I moved into the highwood apartments in Nov’2014 to find to I had been rented a unit with an infestation «the worst» the pest control guy had ever seen. They were able to rid the unit of all but a «few» roaches, leaving opportunity for them to reproduce thousands more. When speaking to Julia Surak about the matter she suggested I move out in the next 10 days rather than finding a way to rectify the matter. I have filed an official complaint with the SD Department of health, food and housing division. I will post our email correspondence following our phone conversation yesterday afternoon, showing Julia’s lack of regard for tenant health an safety.

I’m writing this review to thank Victoria Crandall — property manager for 2112 Garnet Ave complex, for all her professionalism, courteous response to all problems and requests I had throughout the years.
I lived at 2112 Garnet Ave– FOUR wonderful years and I would recommend Torrey Pines properties to anybody looking for a place in San Diego! Even the maintenance guys are super nice– always responded to my emergencies right away.
The other thing about this company is that everyone seems to love what they’re doing, so you always deal with Happy People, which makes life so much easier:)
And to finish on the most positive note possible– I got almost full deposit refund after 4 years of wear and tear. Thank you everyone– this is a fantastic family company!

I can not thank my property manager enough, Karin from Bonita Heights Apt. Every time I have an issue or a concern she is on it. I admire her quickness when I have an issue and she gets things done. Despite of any request I may have, she takes care of the issue in a timely manner.

Torrey Pines Property Management is a great company! They are nice, compassionate and quick to relieve any issues a tenant might have with the apartment.
From the apartment Managers to the receptionist on site at the offices, I have had a great experience with these guys.
Their office is really cool, has an industrial look and feel to it. But it also says San Diego in a modem and contemporary way.
Definitely recommend this company.

This is a review regarding Torrey Pines property on 1236 Felspar street in Pacific Beach.
Where to start… The apartments are in terrible condition. The residents are the worst! I don’t even know how Torrey Pines allow these people to live there! Super loud, inconsiderate bunch of drunk and rude people. Besides 3 apartments where older people live, and I believe they have been residents there for many years. Managers at Torrey Pines, well that’s whole other story. Never answering the phones, never checking the property or trying to maintain or improve property or apartments. I really don’t know why they get paid? So my sincere advice is to avoid this place and find something better, you’ll be way happier.
