I was very disappointed in the service and the food. Our meat was all over cooked and our service treated us like an after thought. I love Japanese steak houses and even little issues with service still make me rate high because the food at least is amazing. My mom ordered medium rare steak it was a little past medium.

What a wonderful experience. The chef had many jokes and the food was delicious. My husband and I «shared» a Blue Ocean Punch Bowl(I drank most of it haha) and the Green Tea ice cream is amazing! They sang to us a special song about marriage since we are newly wed. Overall food and experience was wonderful.

This is our 3rd year in a row coming here from New Joisey, the wifey and I. We know New Year’s Eve has its glitches with reservations not being upheld to everyone’s likings but c’est la vie I say to that as frustrating as it may seem, it’s worth the wait!!! These AMAZING, hard working individuals such as the new GM Jonathan, Wilmer the Executive Chef, the AMAZING JapanAmanian aka Panamanian chef we had Christmas Night(So sorry I forgot your name, but you were super funny and full of energy and what a cook you are. Wilmer quality if I may add, which I can see you going far with Benihana in time). The lovely waitress we had Christmas Night from the Philippines as well as tonight’s Rockin waitress from Ukraine? Poland? Don’t recall either of their names, but will always remember their Phenomenal service! Also Onur the Bartender takes care of his peeps with Fantabulous drinks to calm their hungry appetites until dinner is served, which is no easy task, especially during the holidays! I almost forgot Agne, who serves customers, such as us, their meals, to the highest level of customer satisfaction. Benihana Corporate as well as this Owner should be oh, so very proud to have all these fine individuals working at such a fabulous establishment. Happy 2016, Healthy & Prosperous, to us all, and let us say: «Amen».

Came for sushi, great view of the ocean. Ordered 2 rolls and miso soup. 1 roll was right, the other was wrong. Got a refill on water 10 minutes after it was empty. And the worse part: waited 35 minutes for the check… Just horrible.

We’ve been to more Japanese steakhouses than we can count, but this was our first Benihana’s experience. The restaurant is very nice, every seat overlooks the ocean, the sushi was great and the dinner was excellent. Other Japanese steakhouses really could learn a few things from Benihana!

Food was excellent but service was slow. There was at least a 15 minute wait after our table was done with the salad. Luckily, the waiter kept our drinks filled and we had a social table. Our chef was very entertaining and my entrée was seasoned to perfection. They just need to make sure they have enough chefs available to accommodate the beach crowd.

While visiting Key West we went to celebrate my son’s birthday. They did an excellent job. The service was very good, cook was engaging, and atmosphere was clean and festive. The meals were prepared just right, too much food though for us. Shrimp, steak, and other seafood cooked to perfection.

Long waiting times, even when you make a reservation. It took almost an hour from our original time to putting the first bite in our mouths. And then those bites were not great. Bland, minimalist taste seemed the order of the day(avoid shrimp rice) and for all the theatrics(which only takes up 40% of the total meal) it made for a tiresome, bland evening. If you want tasty, fast food, avoid this 80’s franchise relic.

The restaurant has a great view and the atmosphere is great. But… All meals come with shrimp as an appetizer. Want something different? Sorry. Fried rice costs additional money. This was a surprise when the check came. My cook didn’t do a single trick right. An egg tossed, that was supposed to land in his hat, flew over him and exploded on the ground. He forgot half of our food and had to send people running to the back for additional ingredients. Food was also not divided up fairly(it’s all cooked together). He kept giving all the veggies and things to the other side of table and neglecting our side.

I always love eating here. Our chef was Pete he is also fun. We had him once before. We did have 7 in our group. I didn’t invite more because that would have been to many people at the table. To my surprise they seated two others with us. I know it was Mothers Day and the 2 ladies that sat with us were nice but we were so cramped. Those tables are not big enough for 9 people. When you pay as much as you do for dinning here you should not be sitting in each other’s laps.

Never disappointed in Benihana… always consistent with their food and service. And of course the entertainment is always fun to watch! While you’re waiting, sit at the bar and try some of the new drinks. And have a good conversation with the bartender: every one I’ve come across is friendly and informative! ENJOY!

The bride and groom decided Benihana to be the post wedding ceremony dinner location and they called in ahead to reserve enough space for everyone. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there were some mix up with our reservation and we had to wait an addition hour(after being told only 30 mins) for grill tables we reserved in advance. Some of us hanged out at their sushi bar while we waited. They have a section with tables designated for it to the right of the entrance while the left sides were for hibachi grills. They ended up only able to seat our group in two separate grill area despite them having a larger joint grill table, but decided to not open it that day. It was awkward to have to two sides of the families sitting at completely separated tables on a wedding night. Not a great start. We started with a sashimi combo, and then order our hibachi items. It was a bit strange when the waitress ask if we want chicken in our fried rice, naturally we would say yes and she did not mention the extra $ 5/person as a surprise on the bill later, as I remember it was just $ 1 at other Benihanas I visited, and some hibachi grill offer it for free, so it was quite subtle and slimy for them on that one. The sushi arrived, they were ok fresh, better than mountainous regions, but definitely not the quality I expected being next to the ocean though. Then our table chef arrived, he seemed to be a pretty good kid, and we all got some Miso soups. They were actually quite salty, which none of us finished it. The tempura we got was ok. I got hibachi food were not bad, and the table chef did make some inappropriate jokes, so it was a bit awkward for the older folks in the family. The scallops and filet mignons tasted about the same as ones you would get at most hibachi. The chicken fried rice was alright. I am not sure I gotten a Benihana experience like I did from other Benihanas I visited in other states. It was definitely a sub-par experience in comparison. I do not think I can recommend this place unless it is for a date or with small party.

I’ve been to several Benihana establishments and I definitely have to say the Key West location has the best view. The food at Beni’s is always prepared well however that being said some table chefs can really perform and other just go thru the motions. I really don’t go for the show anymore I’m usually there to eat something that’s not of great abundance in the area. I came from San Diego and there’s Japanese food everywhere to found… some good, some okay and some eh… so for Key West it’s got a market cause there isn’t that many Japanese food places or Any teppanyaki places.

Went there December 23, 2013 for our anniversary. My wife ordered a Jim Beam and coke when she got it she could not drink it because it was not what she ordered… come to find out it was with Pepsi? I thought it was a call drink… and for $ 8.50 they should have given what was ordered. The food was mediocre to say the lest and my steak was not cooked as ordered. Service was poor! The worst Japenese Steak house I have ever eaten at. I live here and this is a typical tourist trap.

We didn’t eat at the restaurant so I guess I can’t give a complete review.. . But I wanted to do the review anyways since is the first time we eat from there & to let you know to be aware that there is another Benihana in Miami and if you call to order to go make sure you are talking to the right one. Since we thought we called to the one in Key West not knowing that there was another one in Miami. After getting there the manager told us what happened and that that happens… so however the manager ordered our food and around 20 mnts later we have our food. Ok now, about the food? we ordered sushi. I would have to say it was ok. Don’t think it was worth the money… but maybe it’s the experience of the restaurant what counts? For now I’m gonna be giving 4 stars because I’m feeling generous & I shouldn’t give a bad review if I haven’t being there yet.

Benihana is a high quality chain. This location does a good job. They are over by the airport, so most tourists will need to drive to get here. I have eaten here quite a few times over many years and never had a bad experience. I have always been pleased with the experience here.
