Meet the Business Owner

Karin S.

Business Owner

Makers’ Mercantile is a lifelong dream brought to life by Karin Skacel. A crafter since age 5, Karin started with crochet, moved on to sewing, then photography, knitting, pottery, glass fusing and finally felting. Although the ultimate would be to offer supplies for all of these crafts in one place, Karin settled on specializing in the fiber arts. Thus Makers’ Mercantile provides textile artists with supplies for most textile related arts, including: knitting, crochet, felting, weaving, dying and sewing.

A large lounge in the middle of the shop provides a place to sit and work your craft as you enjoy a delicious lunch or delectable treat and espresso drink, from RylieCakes, an in-house bakery. Everything sold is made from scratch, by hand, on the premises in their state-of-the-art, gluten-free kitchen. RylieCakes specializes in treats for those with specific allergies and/or intolerances, thus no matter your diet, you will find something fabulous to eat and drink!
