DNS Moving

This is the second time we moved with DNS movers (local moves in DC) and we have been very impressed with Dave and the crew. They are easy to work with and take great care with the furniture. We would highly recommend them for your next move.

They’re impossible to get ahold of, we had to threaten to cancel the job just to get them to confirm that we were on for our move scheduled for today (²⁄₁₅) and that they got my email with the addresses and items we needed moved, this was after sending several text messages and leaving several voicemails. They did not show up this morning. I left them 2 voicemails and still did not hear back from them until an hour and a half after they were supposed to show up. The business owner, Dave, said it they were canceling all their jobs because it was snowing. I asked him why he couldn’t have called us last night or earlier this morning to cancel and he said he could not find my phone number. I asked him why he couldn’t just look in his phone, since he has gotten several phone calls and text messages from me, my number would definitely be there. He said he could not get to his phone. I find that difficult to believe that he had absolutely no way of getting in touch with me. I let him know I was annoyed at the complete lack of communication and the fact that my wife had to threaten to cancel the job just so they would send me a simple text message saying «Got your email, we are on for the 15^th.» and told him we would get someone else to do it. Moving is one of the most stressful things people go through, and having movers who are completely uncommunicative and unprofessional does not help. I understand that the weather complicates things, but there is no excuse for not showing up at all and calling an hour and a half after they were supposed to show up to cancel. It would have been much more helpful if they called earlier so we could make other arrangements. I also don’t like the way they wouldn’t answer any of my texts and emails, or return my calls until my wife threatened to cancel the job. It’s just not professional. That’s no way to run a business. Because they pretty much bailed on us at the last minute, we have had to reschedule other things we wanted to have done today, thinking we would be moved in already. It completely screwed up our schedule and ended up costing us extra money. I would never recommend this company to anyone. I don’t know how they stay in business

DNS Moving is by far the best moving company I have ever used. They take great care in protecting furniture, have no problem re-​arranging pieces until I am happy and work fast and steady. Kudos to Dave!

My family recently chose DNS moving to take care of moving my parents from the midwest to DC to live with us, and I must say, we were very pleased with the results.
Dave and his crew were great. They treated my parents wonderfully, and paid extra special attention to the few pieces of antique furniture they have. Anyone with older parents knows how picky they can be, but Dave and his staff were very patient and understanding. Their speed and communication were top notch too!
I would definitely recommend DNS to anyone looking to move anything! They do a great job!

We have used DNS for several corporate and event moving projects including a complete move of our offices last year. They were professional, timely and very reasonably priced.

As a professional who has big items to move both locally and long distance along the East coast, I use DNS Moving. I have used them at least 9 times in two years and each time I have received professional and courteous service and pricing has been very fair for all they do. They have always been on time, packed and crated my items perfectly and have left the site clean. They have hung artwork and arranged furniture as well for me. I also have used their warehousing services which really came in handy a few times! The owner, Dave, was always available to me via phone or text and I know I have counted on him to provide specialized services or refer specialists that I need (upholstery, set-​up, furniture repair, etc). I have recommended DNS to several friends and acquaintances and each has told me of their good experiences with them. I plan on continuing to use them for all my moves and deliveries.

I have used DNS moving for 4 moves so far. Three within the state of Maryland and once from New Jersey to Maryland. Dave and DNS moving were incredibly professional. They showed up on time and were ready to start loading trucks immediately every time. All my possession were properly wrapped, and protected. Dave and all his employees have made all my moves as easy as possible and their pricing is very straight forward. I will always use DNS moving and highly recommend anyone looking to move to do so.

DNS was recommended to me by a friend and they were AMAZING! They were very professional and on time. All of my belongs were wrapped very well and arrived with no damage. I was very nervous that all of my stuff would not fit in the truck, but Dave was so experience and great at his job, there wasn’t a single issue! I highly recommend using DNS moving!

We have use Dns Moving for over 10 years for many moves ! They have always been great and treated with service and hospitality, from Dns moving team! I have had one thing happen in 10 years and the owner took care of it right away ! Great family own company too deal with !!

I have moved many many times over the years and this has BY FAR been the worst experience of my entire life.
I hoped that this would have been a positive experience and that I would be able to use them again in the future but that is very far from the outcome.
While they did arrive on time and were nice guys, upon off loading the truck they had broken several pieces. When it was time to pay for the move they asked me to estimate off hand the cost of each item and deduct it from the total. This would have been an acceptable outcome had I known the cost of the items they broke.
Upon sending them several emails detailing the cost of the items that were damaged, sending links and offering receipts I had received no response. Eventually I called David who told me that they would send me a check for the difference. When it didn’t arrive and I called the company YET AGAIN and spoke to another person who had no knowledge of the situation and tried to tell me that I was at fault for the broken items.
In short fine company if all goes well but should there be any hiccups they don’t seem to be capable at solving them or providing customer service/​following through.

I had really hoped to be able to write a positive review. My friend recommended DNS Moving to me as she had a good experience (they showed up an hour late for her, but the rest was fine).
I had the bad luck to have scheduled my move for the day after Hurricane Sandy hit DC. I tried calling on Monday to see if I should reschedule, but could never get in touch with Dave, even leaving a message. The movers were scheduled to show up at 10:00 on Tuesday morning, and I still received no response; no one answered the phone until noon. I would have been more than flexible if they needed to reschedule, after all, a hurricane did come through! But, I don’t think it would have been too much to ask for a phone call or some communication with the company.
When I finally got in touch with Dave at noon, he acted like there was nothing wrong that they just simply didn’t show up. Luckily, he was able to reschedule me for the next day. We ended up renting a cargo van on Tuesday and moving all of our boxes ourself. It was a good thing too! The movers showed up 75 minutes late on Wednesday, and we only had the loading dock for a certain amount of time. The two guys worked fast, but they still ended up breaking my dresser and seriously scratching my leather couch. I’m not a professional mover, but I do know that you should take the drawers out of a dresser when you move it and to wrap a couch as well. On top of that, they didn’t offer to compensate me. I’ll admit, I never called Dave to complain (yet) because I was just happy to have the move over with. But, I was very disappointed with the service and would not recommend them to anyone.

The workers were very good, honest guys. They worked hard and were polite. Since the move was finished… not so good. They left without putting one of our beds together, and they took the assembly parts with them. It has been 3 weeks, and still they haven’t returned to fix this. All calls go unreturned. There are still over 60 crates that belong to them in my garage. Nice guys… just too busy to provide the quality follow up.

We have used DNS two years in a row and could not be happier with them! They were very flexible with our crazy schedules, always on time and extremely professional. The guys has upbeat attitudes and took great care of our items, moving each piece with care! I would recommend them to anyone in need of a good moving service!

I just met these guys today and they are fantastic. David and David are very adept, smart and courteous. I would recommend them in a heart beat.
