I had read great reviews for them so I had them clean both my apartment and my boyfriend’s prior to us moving away from the area. I had to mop over the footprints left and washed the shower since it was still dirty. My bf lost money on his security deposit because the owner said then needed to clean it. I spoke with the owner and while he was really kind about it, I never received any type of partial refund for incomplete work.

I wouldn’t have L&G come and «clean» my apartment again, even if they offered to do it for free for the next year. I have a 900 square ft. apartment that we keep tidy (only a few things to move to clean around/​under). After paying for a «3 hour clean,» and waiting 2 months for an appointment, I finally was able to set up a time for yesterday morning. I was not home when the cleaning crew was there, but when I came home, it was clear that my «3 hour clean» only included: 1) washing a handful of dishes (kitchen floors not mopped or vacuumed, stove and counters not wiped clean); 2) a superficial bathroom cleaning (some surfaces – like part of the faucet – wiped with a cloth, so you could clearly see the parts that were ignored); and 3) sweeping and dusting my bedroom. All of that would probably take me less than 40 minutes.
My living room and dining room were ignored (the floors were not swept or mopped, the dining room rug had large, visible tufts of dog fur on it, the dining room table had food and cup marks all over it, the coffee table had cup marks all over it), as were the hardwood stairs from the 1^st floor to the 2^nd floor.
All in all, it was a huge waste of time and money, and I feel like I was scammed. There’s a certain amount of trust that is required to agree to have strangers come into your home and perform services for you. L&G takes advantage of that trust.

Surprised there are so many bad reviews. I would actually give this 3.5 stars if I could. Like many, I bought the 3 hour cleaning deal on LivingSocial. I had absolutely no problems making the appointment. I booked it online through their website and got an email from management later on that night. After calling and leaving a voicemail that wasn’t returned (the only negative experience I had), I sent an email to which I got a reply back a day later. They put the appointment in the calendar and the manager followed up with me again the day before the appointment to make sure we were all set.
Next morning came and the manager called me again to let me know the ladies would be running a little late but were only about 10 – 15 minutes away. They got here and cleaned all the common areas pretty thoroughly (kitchen, living room, dining room, hallways, staircase, 2 full bathrooms) and dusted and swept our 3 bedrooms while also making all of our beds.
Is my house spic and span where you can eat off the floor? No, but it’s definitely A LOT cleaner than it was before they came. I’d pay $ 60 for a decent cleaning like this any day. Best of luck to those who got the deal… it worked out for me and I hope it does for you too.

I’ve been trying to schedule an appointment for the last five days and have not been able to get in touch with anyone. There voicemail doesn’t identify the company and repeated calls, during normal business hours are not answered or returned.
This appears to be yet another case of someone oversubscribing themselves through living social and not being able to, or not willing to, meet the demand.

Don’t waste your time with L&G cleaning.
Pros: They didn’t steal from me (I think). My apartment didn’t get less clean. That’s about it…
Cons: Making a cleaning appointment was painful. I called; they didn’t answer. I emailed; they emailed me back four days later. When I replied to set an appointment, I never got a response. So I waited more than an appropriate amount of time and called. SIX TIMES. No answer. Finally after trying twice a day for several weekdays in a row, I got through. They didn’t have any appointments available for over two weeks. This was the beginning of June; I first emailed May 10^th. The manager was seemingly apologetic (but was mostly just just spouting excuses for why he was overrun — shouldn’t do a living social deal if you can’t handle it…). He said he would try to squeeze me in the next week since I had been waiting so long to make an appointment and he would call me back Friday or Sunday evening at the absolute latest. Well you guessed it, no call. Finally on Tuesday I call him back. After three or four tries throughout the day, I got through and finally made an appointment (scheduled for 40 days after my original request).
My troubles making an appointment would have been forgiven if the cleaning had made up for it. Unfortunately it did not. I bought the living social deal for 3 hours of cleaning. Instead two cleaners came for 45 minutes. That doesn’t add up. Both of the ladies were nice and one of them spoke enough English for me to satisfactorily communicate with her. No complaints there. However, if you are going to clean my apartment for 50 percent of the time I paid for, you should probably make sure it’s completely clean. I couldn’t even tell that they had washed the floor. When I pointed this out, one of the nice cleaning ladies picked up a few specks of food with a paper towel. This made me feel guilty so I didn’t say anything else, but the floor was still a mess, the kitchen table hadn’t been wiped, and there was a decent amount of dust on obvious ledges. Overall, I felt ripped off.
Stay away from L&G cleaning.

I too purchased the LivingSocial deal and tried to schedule service. L&G Cleaning never returned my call or responded to my emails requesting to schedule an appointment. I subsequently called LivingSocial and had my money refunded. Do not use this company. And, if you purchased a LivingSocial coupon, you too may want to consider getting your money back!

Pros: Manager accompanied the two cleaners once it was made known of their prior horrible reviews. The staff was friendly.
Cons: Difficult to schedule an appointment. Told my first call would be returned, which never happened. Had to call a second time before I could schedule an appointment. The cleaners were late, but management kept us informed of their new arrival time. 3 hours of cleaning equated to two cleaners cleaning for 1.5 hours, which wasn’t explained clearly on the LivingSocial Coupon. Micro-​management was needed to ensure detailed cleaning.

I purchased the Living Social deal for 3 hours of cleaning from L&G. It took me 2 phone calls with (manager?) Mark to schedule the appointment almost a month in advance because he kept forgetting to call me back. We finally scheduled the time for 7AM on a Monday because I was told there was already a 9AM appointment and they were booked after that.
On the morning of the appointment, they had clearly forgotten about my appointment until I called around 7:40AM. After a couple calls back and forth, Mark then asked me for my address as if he had no record of the appointment. They ended up showing up around 9AM.
The two cleaning ladies went through the apartment in 55 minutes. Mark asked me to inspect the bathroom as they were cleaning the kitchen and I asked if they could clean the outside of the tub because that was missed. When I checked back later, nothing had changed. A few minutes later, I was told that they were done and they were already outside the door with all their belongings in hand ready to leave. I said thanks, handed them a tip and they left. As I walked back into the apartment, I realized that they didn’t clean the hardwood floor in the living room, nor the bathroom floor. And then I noticed that the coffee table in the living room was untouched — still dusty with fingerprints. I then went to inspect the kitchen. The counters and sink were clean but rather than wash the dishes, they just placed them haphazardly in the dishwasher without even rinsing them. I decided to wash my non-​stick pots myself since those cannot be washed in the dishwasher, and that is when I realized they had taken my Palmolive dish soap. I don’t understand how they could mistake it as their own since they didn’t even wash my dishes!
My experience with L&G has been extremely frustrating to say the least. Not only did they fulfill less than 2 hours of the 3 hour commitment, but they overlooked very obvious areas that should have been cleaned, showed up 2 hours late, and they took my soap!
I have tried contacting Mark several times and emailed the address on the website but I have yet to hear back on getting this resolved.

Friendly, fast, and on time. Cleaned everything efficiently and well. I would definitely recommend L&G.

L&G Cleaning R Us did, for the most part, a decent job cleaning our home, but the customer service needs to bring my rating down a notch.
If you recently bought a deal from Living Social from L&G, I would advise you to WAIT before booking them. Apparently the company is going through some management changes and the online booking system is not working. I think the company has some major communication kinks to get worked out, and they seem to be really overwhelmed presently. I used the online booking system to request a cleaning date (gave 3 options on the website) in early July, when I bought the deal. I then left the country for a few weeks and when I returned, had not received so much as an automated email response. Since I had no idea which date this week (as I had put in 3 possible options) the cleaners would come, I called the company to find out (Tues morning). The guy in charge (newly appointed, I gathered), told me about all the changes in the company and the online booking system not really working/​inaccessible. He said he’d call me back that evening and confirm. He didn’t. So I called again, Wednesday morning. He said he’d for sure call Wed. night and confirm (meaning now that 2 of the possible 3 dates I gave for cleaning were past). He called Weds evening and said they could get to me yesterday, Thurs morning, at 11. Thursday morning, I got a call saying that they were running late, so they finally showed up at 11:30. Not a big deal, but when I opened the door, the owner complained to me about how busy and hectic the day was going to be and oh however would they get it all done! Not exactly what I need to hear.
The two women who did the cleaning were ok. One spoke some (well, really, really limited) English. I showed them around the house and explained what I wanted the focus to be on (bathroom and kitchen and dusting, my most hated chores). They probably started around 11:40, after I gave the tour and instructions, and announced that they were finished at 12:53…the deal was for 3 hours, and I get it, 2 women for 1.5 hours each is technically three hours of cleaning, but this was definitely not a full 3 hour combined cleaning.
Other problems:
*I was downstairs working on my laptop and heard one of the ladies in the kitchen talking (the other was upstairs). This went on for a few minutes and I went into the kitchen to get a drink and she was ON HER CELL PHONE! She wasn’t phased by my walking in and seeing her on the phone… I mean, c’mon.
*I showed the woman (who speaks limited English) all the dust that remained in the bathroom, behind the radiator, and asked if she could go at it again. I know it is an awkward spot to clean, but I’ve done it myself enough times to know it could be done. She gave an attempt with a mop and then proceeded to explain, in Spanish, how she couldn’t do it. I told her I couldn’t speak Spanish and she continued to go on and on and on, in Spanish, presumably about the radiator.
*Whatever they used to clean left streaks ALL over many pieces of furniture (wooden sideboard and hardwood stairs all had this watery/​soapy residue on them), meaning I have to now re-​clean them.
Is my house cleaner than it was before? Yes. The stove top, for example, looks great and the dusting, for the most part, is thorough. I probably wouldn’t use them again, though.

Was excited to have my place cleaned but was very disappointed with L &G. They started out well in cleaning of the kitchen but really fell behind when cleaning the bathrooms. They say they thoroughly clean the bathrooms, but that is not the case. If you have too many facial, beauty, and hair products on the counters then they do not clean the counters unless you complain loudly. They feel that they only need to clean for 90 minutes and whenever that time is up they leave despite finishing the job. This is not the way to get continued business.
The people do not know the simplest things like how to make a bed or how to clean and dust furniture. They just the furniture with a rag but do not use any furniture cleaning product to clean the wood as other cleaners do. in the entertainment area, they were not going to dust under equipment until I told them to. It is really a very lite cleaning and not worth it
My biggest complaint and why I hired cleaners is to thoroughly clean the bathrooms and they failed that test.

My roommate and I used this cleaning service because of a living social deal. We were impressed about the customer service at first because they emailed us to ask several questions, they called to confirm the night before and the day of, and they asked what areas we wanted them to concentrate on/​what type of cleaning products we wanted them to use.
That being said, we asked them to concentrate on the bathroom and dusting. I would not say that either of those areas were really concentrated on… there was still a ton of mildew/​mold in the shower curtain (which I later easily removed on my own) and there was still a good amount of dust on everything. The dusting was not thorough– they just dusted around everything instead of lifting up candles/​pictures frames, etc, to get all of the dust. I just did not think it was a very thorough job. Our place obviously looked cleaner at first and smelled cleaner but I was expecting a better job all around.

Never again. They really don’t know how to run a business. First things first: they never returned my email requesting a quote. When I did follow up with them, they apologized and gave me a standard quote (sight unseen) for a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, INITIAL cleaning (emphasis on the *initial*) of $ 199. Once I agreed, we agreed on a day and time. I told them if they were going to be late, to call me because I didn’t want to leave work earlier than I had to to meet them at my house. Scheduled time was 1:30. They call me at 1:29 to tell me they will be there at 3:00. They arrive at 3:20. At this point, I’m mildly irritated for having already left work. It’s cool, I got things to do at home. When the crew gets there, they call the owner (a woman) who inturn calls me and tells me that there will be extra charges because they will need different chemicals to clean the kitchen stove and the bedrooms have too much clutter (?). Seriously? You’re not even here to evaluate and you’re going to charge me extra? We agreed on the service based on the quote. We never agreed to EXTRA charges at the last minute. This is an INITIAL cleaning. What were they expecting? a clean house?
Very disappointed.

I gave a gift certificate of this cleaning service to my sister and we were all very impressed. L&G Cleaning R Us was easy to work with by phone and email to establish exactly what service would be provided. Additionally, the service itself was prompt curteous and thorough. My sister was very happy that the level of service provided was as described. (She lives in a house so the basic service could not cover all rooms but we worked it out to include cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen.)

I scheduled and pre-​paid L&G to do a move-​out cleaning of my apartment, but had to cancel before my appointment. When I called, Lupe said that it was no problem and she’d be happy to refund my money, thanks for thinking of us, and we hope to serve you again in the future.
Three months later, I’m still waiting for a refund — she’ll repeatedly email back to say she’s looking into it, but I never get a response beyond that. Really disappointed.

L& G Cleaning came to us through Groupon. Had a little problem scheduling, but once they came (an hour late, which we allowed for, and they did call), Mark & Maria did a great job. They knew what they were doing and did it without fanfare. Well done! Would happily recommend them.

Disappointed with other cleaning services in the area? Feel like you’re not getting your money’s worth? Ditch them and call L&G Cleaning. This is the first company where I feel like I wasn’t penalized for using a Unilocal deal. You know what I’m talking about, those companies that do a half ass job because they know you paid via Living Social or Groupon or whatever… The company didn’t have many reviews, but at least the ones they had were all positive, which is more I can say for others (you know who you are).
For an additional $ 99, they steam cleaned my carpets, which looked like a herd of buffalo had trampled across. I came home from the holidays, and everything was spotless. Not only was it spotless, but they actually took the time to make sure my pictures and knick knacks were where I put them, NOT just where they put them back. I was really, really impressed with the level of service, especially when they called to let me know when they were coming, when they were leaving, and how to best let the carpet dry since it was a little damp post cleaning.
One thing to note is they won’t bring a vacuum unless you ask, so if you don’t have your own (mine died), make sure you note that when you request the service.

What a wonderful job LnG Cleaning R Us women did yesterday in cleaning my home. It wasn’t messy or even terribly dirty, but needed a thorough «going over.» My kitchen especially hasn’t been this clean and sparkling in a long time – cabinets, counters, and even toaster and tea kettle got cleaned! I have original wood floors and to have them all cleaned with Murphy’s makes them look as good as they were when new. That’s a big job and I haven’t tackled it in years.
Mark represented LnG well, and gave me some coupons to look at for next year. I’ve never been able to afford regular (monthly) cleaning service, and don’t know if I can now, but I will seriously consider it and see if it might work. If it doesn’t, it will be due to funds only – the company did an excellent job.

I also learned about LnG through Groupon, and could not be more pleased. I scheduled the crew for a Friday afternoon, and since I was likely not the only Groupon customer, they were an hour and a half late. However, Mark called and explained, and since I was off that day, it wasn’t a huge inconvenience. When they arrived, Mark and Maria got immediately to work. When they finished, everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) was spotless.
Even if you consider yourself to be a neat-​freak, do yourself this favor and call LnG. Not only will your house be spotless, but you’ll reclaim your weekend!

Back when I lived in a condo, I cleaned my crib (almost literally the size of a crib) all by myself and thought having a cleaning service was a completely unnecessary luxury. Then I moved in with my hoarder husband and realized I needed call in the professionals.
But until recently, I could not for the life of James Dyson commit to a cleaning company. After a string of forgettable dalliances with various companies, decided to try L&G because they had a Groupon.
The crew was an hour late, which I’d usually find highly annoying, but at least they called to let me know when they’d be here. Despite that inauspicious beginning, 5 stars for the brilliant performance! We get our house cleaned regularly but this is the cleanest it’s been in years. Fingerprints? Gone. Dust bunnies under the bed? Gone. Dirt in that weird ridge on the outside of the tub that no one ever cleans except me because you can’t see it unless you’re lying down on the floor? Gone, gone, gone!
Unfortunately, as soon as my husband and son wake up tomorrow morning, I know the house will start the slow but inevitable descent into chaos. Rather than kick them out and break up the family, I’ll just ask L&G to come back.
