Jacobs & Rhodes Heating & Air Conditioning

Tech once again did a great job. He completed our scheduled maintenance, was on time and totally professional! Thank you for answering all my questions.

Horrible! I was charged close to a hundred dollars to have someone come out and tell me a bunch of lies! The tech was on his phone the whole time, (didn’t seem to know what the problem was) said that there was a leek in the system and he needed to do schedule a leek test to find out where it was. He also said the unit was junk, a cheep model they put in all the brand new homes around here. He asked how old the thermostat was…(new) He said that half the freon was gone out of the heat pump and regardless it would need more put in it. He did nothing to fix the problem… the heat pump was not working when he came out and it was not working when he left and he still got a hundred dollars out of the deal…
Then I called a different company who had the heat pump working in less than ten minutes. He said there was no leek and that the freon in the unit was only a pound or two low.
Jacob and Rhodes’ tech was just trying to take my money and sell me one of their units. My current unit is less than five years old and works perfectly… they would have taken my money when there was no reason to buy a unit other than their greedy dishonesty. No respect for the way they do business. Will not recommend them to anyone, ever!
Update: (a week later) My husband called them and talked to management about how displeased he was with their service. While we were offered our money back it was only on the condition that my reviews were taken down. WHAT??? I’m only entitled to my money if I keep my opinion to myself? So they can sucker more innocent people with sending out INCOMPETENT techs? That’s what’s even better, the excuse that was given as to why we were told so many things that were untrue is that their tech was «a new guy». So tell ya what Jacobs and Rhodes, you keep your service fee, because if this is how you do business you’re really gonna need that money! Hope the tri cities has enough suckers out there for you to make a living. –STILL DISAPPOINTED… and not easily bribed, because I have something called integrity, which you apparently lack. Good luck!

HEY…they refunded our money. (Which they should have since they’re guy did nothing but wax a bunch of b.s.) Crazy it took this much public complaining to get a refund, but hey… maybe they have a little more class than I initially suspected. Just a little.

After an EXTREMELY hot day, my A/​C unit stopped working. I called several places the next day and predictably the response was either «we are in overtime only which means it will cost triple to look at it» or that they won’t be able to look at it for at least 2 days. Jacobs and Rhodes could get out here that day. It took a while but they were very busy as the day before was 111 degrees. The technician fixed the problem very quickly. The price was very reasonable for the work that was done. I asked a few questions and he answered them. He also checked a few extra things for good measure.
Jacobs and Rhodes were professional and courteous in their work. I would use them again if I needed to! Thanks!
