I’ve been eating here for years and finally had delivery today. Delicious! Food was hot as if I ordered from there. Pricing is affordable and I actually didn’t have a delivery fee, just had to tip the driver. I recommend this place to anyone. Great service and prompt delivery. I ordered the curry chicken and was very satisfied.

Excellent Jalapeño Chicken! Fantastic Egg rolls, Egg Drop Soup and Cream Cheese puffs. Service is very friendly! The only down side is the Hot and Sour used to be good, but in the past year it’s been too«sweet» Hot and Sour soup should never be that way. All in all though I would highly recommend.

My family and I are loyal to this place. We’ve been coming here for 8 years now. Have seen some management changes, but this restaurant maintains solid. We usually order here just for the special fried rice. It’s soo good, taste fresh and is not greasy one bit. We also get wings, egg rolls, wonton soup and steamed vegetable and they are all great! I think over the years though the customer service has gotten better, not that it was bad before it just got better. The lady who usually cashiers is so nice and patient, very friendly staff. She was intentional about getting my order right and offered to repeat it several times after I made some changes to my order. I recommend this place based off of my experience !

The highly talked about black pepper chicken has finally entered my digestive system. Lol well the taste as explained by all the other reviewers as awesome is correct but one big thing fell short. While the flavor was on point same with the kick of spicy peppers the chicken was very mushy it was like a mash potato consistency that’s been sitting out for a few days. I would like to assume I got the bad batch but this was bad. The combo deal also came with fried rice and soup. Fried Rice was very clumpy aka left over rice. Not very flavorful! I ordered my favor hot and sour soup was highly disappointed the soup should of been sweet and sour soup. Would I recommend this place mmmm. I would say bring your owned chopped chicken and asked for the black pepper sauce. I’m considering doing that next

Food : Chicken Lo Mein — Very salty for my taste. The vegetables are not chopped to the same size and shape(something minor, but I’m nick picky like that) ruins the texture and consistency to the dish. Mongolian Beef w/Rice — The rice was a little undercooked. Very cheap. No nice aroma. Beef was extremely salty. Over abundance of onions. Very little beef. Wonton Soup — Excessively salty. Very harsh and heavy. Wonton wrappers are too thick and has very little meat. The meat in both main dishes were shredded so it seems like there is a lot of meat, but there really isn’t. Obvious way to save on meat money. No substance to the dishes. Atmosphere: Typical cheap Asian hole in the wall decoration. Nothing special. Fairly clean. Service: Fairly attentive. Got one of our orders wrong, but swiftly corrected it and brought the correct dish out within moments. Overall: The food is very cheaply made. Extremely salty. Perfect example of ‘You get what you pay for’.

This small Chinese restaurant is tucked away in a small strip mall. The meal comes with a choice between 2 soups and 2 appetizers, and rice. I went with what was recommended on Unilocal which is the black pepper chicken and I ordered egg drop soup and cheese puffs with it. Finally a restaurant that advertises No MSG used but has flavor to it. The black pepper chicken was spicy but nothing I couldn’t handle and was flavorful. The fried rice wasn’t greasy at all but yet still had flavor to it. The chicken wings were hot out of the oven and tasty. If I didn’t order the chicken wings as an extra appetizer, my meal would’ve been under $ 8! What a deal. Right across this place is a Panda Express. Shame on you if you go to that«Chinese fast food» place over Café Asian. The staff here are friendly and attentive.

Great prices. Good food. Very timely delivery, averaging 15 to 20 minutes. Combos are a great deal. The soups are great. We order from here 2 to 3 times a month. It always leaves satisfied and happy. We’ll definitely keep ordering from here. Outside of PF Changs it is the best Asian food I have had in Houston, including restaurants in China town.

Have never had a bad meal from this place. Love the Hunan Chicken, which is not on the menu, but is offered if you ask for it. We also get the special spicy lo-mein, excellent flavor. Shrimp rolls are always fresh and hot. Whether we order take out or dine in, it’s always good and the price is just right !

What good is the food if you are just unreasonable about giving any hot sauce or oil. I frequently go there or order delivery. This time I ordered 2 combo meals. They still insisted on giving me just 1 hot sauce(or oil as they call it). I fail to understand this policy of 1 hot sauce per order. So if its 2 or 3 people eating they are to share just 1 hot oil. They want to charge $ 0.25c extra for another hot sauce. I tried to reason with the lady on the phone that these are two orders but she wont budge. She even said ‘Do you want your order or not’? Not looking to order from them any more. Will happily take my money elsewhere. So for a meagre 25cents they lost potential 100’s of dollars. What great business sense.

Wanted just a quick bite and not a whole meal so I popped in for a to go order. I ordered the shrimp rolls and the combination fried rice. The shrimp rolls were quite good, but the duck orange sauce was special. Most places give you a packet of high fructose corn syrup colored orange, but theirs tasted fresh. The rice was well flavored but the meats were nothing special and in particular the pork is overcooked. For the price, the quantity and quality, this place is worth a stop… better than most, not as good as others.

Do not eat from here. Like with most things, there is a reason is it so cheap. The meat in my broccoli beef was chewy and just tasted«off.» Lots of preservatives, msg, thick syrupy sauce. Very little vegetables. My egg drop soup was orange and concealed looking.

When you walk in you will doubt your decision to try this place. It is small and nothing special, minus the food. I have tried almost everything on the menu(chicken) and damn this place is good. Chicken with garlic is my favorite, but you can’t go wrong with the kungpao or black pepper chkn. Best chinese in town for your money hands down

This place has in my opinion the best Chinese food for the price, not too sure how any one can score it low. My family and I always order delivery and the staff are foreign but they are super nice and friendly. Whenever we are close by we do pick up our food and they are very pleasant folks. I really enjoy their dinner portion that comes a soup and a side. I ONLY eat at this place for Chinese food, if you’re expecting high class establishment this isn’t the place for you its a family owned small business.

Mediocre at best. The family and I checked this place out due to some of the good reviews I saw here on Unilocal… I’m not sure how this place received them. While the service was good, the food was severely lacking. First, I’ll say that the soup was disgusting. I had the egg drop soup, and my mother-in-law had the wonton soup. While these two soups appeared to be what you’d expect to receive from a standard Chinese restaurant they were missing one thing — FLAVOR! Both of our soups tasted primarily like water with only a few drops of broth. Quite the let down. I will say my first impression perked up when I received the sesame chicken I ordered. The meat was tender and the sauce was nice and sweet. I was happy until I bit into the«cheese puff» which was super sweet instead of the savory flavor I was expecting. Strike two. My husband was happy with his main dish as well(black pepper beef) but my father-in-law was only half impressed with his his lo-mein and my mother-in-laws meal of chicken with vegetables was a let down for her all the way around with poor flavor and spicing. Over all the few redeeming qualities were the good service and the tender meat as well as a decent egg roll and good dumplings. Too bad those were not enough to carry the dining experience as a whole. There’s much better Chinese food out there.

Used to live in Katy. Always been curious about this place. Finally years later when I’m visiting my parents I decide to go. Very inexpensive and very tasty. Yes the interior is deceiving but food is good. I think sometimes the best food comes from the more hole in the wall looking places. Will update when I go back.

I know a cockroach breeding ground when I see one, but those pesky insect has also never caused any outbreaks or death. Most of the items here are pure crap. Egg roll that taste like sheet rock, teh nose drop, er Egg Drop soup was no good either. But then the main dish’s are more favorable than the grungy interior indicates. Yes, I approve. Now I know this isn’t the most pleasant picture I have painted, or seeming like a positive review. So get the food to go, and enjoy that chair kicking family recipe. 1 star off for the roach incubator looking interior.

Recently moved out to Katy so have been trying all the Chinese places in the area. I stopped at Café Asian on the way home from work to pick up an order to go. The prices were very reasonable, around 6 dollars for an entrée, rice, soup and an egg roll. I am a huge Mongolian beef fan, so I will always order it the first time I try a new place. The employee that took my order was very nice but… I asked for them to make the Mongolian beef spicy and was told. «No» They don’t make it spicy. OK, guess I will try the Jalapeño beef. I asked what was in it and he said its Mongolian beef with jalapeño so its spicy. Really… LOL So about 15 minutes later my «Jalapeño Mongolian beef» is ready. Get it home and its still pipping hot and looks pretty good.(see pic) It may look good but it was very bland. Not much flavor at all. It’s like having mall food without going to the mall. The egg roll was the small frozen type you would buy in the grocery store and the wonton soup was disappointing as well. Will I return? Probably not, lots of other Chinese restaurants in the area and this wouldn’t be my first choice. *Update* OK, I know I said I probably wouldn’t come back but I did. A couple of times now. The quality of the food has improved. I had the orange chicken last time and it was pretty good. For the price I really can’t complain. They have a different egg roll now, not bad. The soup is still sub par but at least the main entrees have improved. If you are looking for a cheap filling Chinese meal, this place may fit the bill. *2nd Update“ Black Pepper Chicken… It changed my review from 3 to 4 stars. If you haven’t had it, get it. If you have you know what I am talking about. Wow, without a doubt the best dish at Café Asian and probable one of the best in Katy. Constantly friendly employees(especially the lady who takes the orders) and great customer service… it change my review for 4 to 5 stars. Café Asian has won me over.
