1^st visit– mani/​pedi overall service was poor, application bad and gummy polish
2^nd visit– scheduled for 10:00, they call at 9:43 to cancel… unfortunately I missed the call since I was already driving. They did say sorry…
I started with high expectations but my confidence is diminished and I’m not sure whether to go back. If someone could recommend someone there who takes pride in their services and is reliable, I’d really like to know so that my gift certificate isn’t wasted.

Alyssa just did my chemical peel for me this week… I’m telling you RUN… don’t walk and go see her! she is SO nice and SO professional… HIGHLY recommended!!!
I also had Kelly do some botox… I wouldn’t trust anyone else! She is kind, beautiful and so thoughtful to making you look your best… Alyssa and Kelly… THE BEST!!!

My experience here was great! I had a wonderful massage by Jennifer, a great facial by Desi, and enjoyed their European Bath room with different temperature hot tubs. The whole afternoon was very relaxing. I was impressed with the attention to detail with the amenities (like a heated floor in the locker room) and the entire staff was very friendly. I was worried coming to a spa would be intimidating since I’m not the fanciest lady, but everyone there made me feel right at home and was genuinely interested in making sure I had a relaxing and refreshing time there. I hop I get the opportunity to go back soon!!!

Underwhelmed. Usually top notch. Today it was clearly unkept. No shoes my size so I clopped around in big shoes. There were shoes left in the showers. There was a huge glob of hair in the shower and the toilet are was nasty.

I loved this place! The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. I loved my facial by Lisa so relaxing.
My 90 minute massage by Gale was nice too.
Left refreshed and relaxed.

Best spa in Kansas City! Amazing amenities, heated floors in the locker rooms, fantastic therapists and they have a one of a kind float room! Highly recommend this place! It’s the closest thing to a Vegas style spa in the Midwest!

I went here a while back. This place is the best Spa I’ve ever been to in my life. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and hard working. I know a spa day is pricey so you want to get your money’s worth. This place delivers. From the moment you walk in the door you feel pampered and relaxed. I had a facial and massage. This includes their European bath ritual and some light refreshments. The concierge takes you to the changing room (lockers and bathroom with sauna) and you’re given a heavenly robe to change into. My first service was about 30min after I arrived so I put on my swimming suit, grabbed my book and sat in the European bath ritual room. 3 different temperature soaking spas and waterfalls. Soft soothing music and dim lights put me at ease. It was a «public» area meaning swimwear is required and there were a few other people who were in and out of the area while I was in there. But everyone was polite and friendly. As the time arrived for my facial I retreated to the changing area, put on a spa towel, tossed my swimsuit into the (provided) baggie, and slipped on my luxurious robe and slippers to wait for my service. There were some light refreshments — water, teas, lemonade, some fruits and nuts so a small snack then a pampering facial where the knowledge of the staff really showed through. She examined my skin, extracted some clogged pores, treated my face, and left me feeling refreshed and hydrated. I went back to the European bath ritual area to wait for my final service. A 30min massage. My only complaint was that I got shorted on time a little and she didn’t really listen to me in regards to where my pain was. But in the short time I did feel very pampered. I got to pick the music, the volume, and the aromatherapy. After she finished I was left to relax and redress at my own pace. I highly recommend this place to everyone wanting an unbelievable Spa service. It is an amazing experience. Do call well in advance for your appointments as they book up fast and only have 1room for the couples services. (I tried recently to book a couple’s massage for my husband and my anniversary, but was unable to get anything on the weekend (Friday — Sunday).) Next year I’ll be sure to call much earlier.

Beautiful spa, good amenities, and a very relaxing ambiance. Coming from San Francisco, the prices at this spa were great!
I had a very friendly and professional masseuse. The only thing I thought was odd was the prenatal massage technique. I’ve gotten half a dozen prenatal massages within the past 7 months at a few different spas. This was the only one that asked me to start on my back. Being 7 months pregnant, this was incredibly uncomfortable. However, as soon as I told my masseuse that I preferred the entire massage to be on my side, she was very accommodating and massaged me for 30 minutes on one side and 30 minutes on the other. Wonderful customer service.
Next time I’m in town, I will definitely be back!

I made an appointment for the sensory deprivation, which they call float here. It wasn’t what I was expecting, and not the way it was listed or explained. Upon mentioning to the lady, she referred me to a MGR that basically said it is what it is, not the customer service I would have expected. The Spa is clean, a bit small but ok.
With the abundant options in the area, I will go elsewhere in the future.

Great floating experience. Awful service. Our existence as customers seemed to bother the staff.
After showing me the locker room, she said, «when you are done, I’ll be right here to show you where the pool room is.» She wasn’t there. (In fact, we never saw this lady again). I found the pool room by roaming around the spa on my own.
Our floating experience was scheduled from 3 – 4. At 3:15 no one had come to get us yet. So I put a robe on, wonder the hallways and eventually walk to the front desk (in a robe). The lady had no idea what I was talking about, but after checking the computer realizes they forgot about us. She says that she’ll be right there. We are in the lounge, when she whirls through without a hello and takes us to the floating room. She says she’ll be back in an hour to get us (it’s 3:20).
Before she leaves asks us if we want the lights on or off during the float. We say «off». She turns all the lights off. Now my wife and I are standing there in the pitch black. Trying to undress and get situated without being able to see our hands in front of our face. We have no idea where the light switch is, fumbling in the dark for the earplugs, Vaseline, etc.
Once in the pool, it was an incredible experience. But she got us out at exactly 4pm — paid for 60 minutes, got 40, without a «sorry» or acknowledgement. Not to our surprise, when we exited that room. There’s no one around. So we again wonder the hallways looking for the locker rooms.

Highly recommend! Two girlfriends and I took an afternoon off to relax from work and mommy-​hood. Our treatments were around lunch so we were able to enjoy the food service they provide in partnership with Trezo Mare. Food was great, prices were reasonable, the room we ate it was perfect (lounged there in our robes with wine) and it made the whole afternoon so much easier.
The massage I got was really nice. Massage quality can vary so much these days from a laughable back rub to a near-​beatin’! This one was really lovely. The masseuse communicated with me to find just the right pressure and offered some nice extras (bio-​freeze for back pain), but also respected my need to just chill in the peace and quiet. Exactly what you’d hope for!
We also highly enjoyed the hot tub facilities and pretty much had to be forced to go home. It was truly a great afternoon.
I highly recommend this as a place to go with friends to relax and have fun. Great for parties of any kind, but equally great for an individual. Book ahead of time as they’re popular on the weekends, but definitely treat yourself.
I also have to note that two of us are nursing mothers and had to pump at the spa during our afternoon there. This staff did not even bat an eye at our requests for private rooms and a refrigerator. We really did add to their plate with this and they could not have been more accommodating. That was the extra mile that made all the difference and we were SO grateful!

Spa was great. Cannot use discounts from Unilocal.They had no idea what I was talking about. Shelby was great. Must wear a bathing suit. Everyone was nice. I’m Here on business so didn’t have a suit and couldn’t use the amenities.
But I’d come back. Really confused about the discount tho. They all seemed perplexed.

My son gave me a Gift Certificate for a Day of Serenity in 2012. The certificate would expire Dec 2027. I was told 3 times I am required to pay additional $ 50 due to the increase now in place. I did that plus tipped according to the increased amount. My thought is the Spa should have honored my certificate as is.
I enjoyed my day on Friday, May 15^th.
It was a pleasant experience, just disappointed with price increase.

So, I scheduled my appointment as a first time guest. The morning of my appointment, they called to say they were short a staff member, so I rescheduled for the next day. I arrived the next day and there was confusion about my actual appointment time. Because of this, I only got to enjoy the pools for TEN minutes, even though I arrived an hour early like they said I could to experience the pools. Ok, so not off to a good start. My massage wasn’t all that either. I’ve had much better. The masseuse was selling add on essential oils to enhance the experience. I didn’t like the smell of any of the oils and I told her so, but she essentially said it wasn’t about the smell, but about their therapeutic affect. I agreed to add it, but only because it was just awkward and I wasn’t expecting all of that to take place right before I got on the table. I felt like her approach was sort of tacky. But, what made it all worth my while was my pedicure. I believe the lady’s name was Kaylie or Kayla. She was so pleasant and did a great job on my feet. I was so relaxed. Overall, I’m still going to give the spa a 4 because the atmosphere is nice and because of the lady who did my pedicure. She was THE BEST. (I visited on 1÷13÷15)

Sooooo glad I booked an appointment for Juvederm here! I had my appointment this morning. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by the nice receptionist. The place is very large and beautiful. I wish I had more time, I would have loved to have used the actual spa, the jacuzzi looked divine. After filling out a quick form, Alyssa came and led me upstairs to a consult room. She was very nice and offered me something to drink while I waited. Not more than a minute later, Dr. Stapleton walked in. She was extremely friendly and sweet!!! One of those ladies you just want to squeeze because she is so adorable.
Even though I have had the procedure done quite a few times, she explained everything to me. I let her know how I wanted the procedure done. She agreed but also recommended some other ways to me that I might like better. Alyssa then led me into another room and carried my things for me.
Literally, no waiting or anything, it was awesome! I hate waiting and have had to do it sometimes for 30 minutes past my appointment time which is frustrating. Nope. Not here, super quick! Dr. Stapleton again explained things, and reassured me the whole way through the procedure. GET THIS… THEY MASSAGE YOUR TEMPLES WHILE THEY INJECT YOU! Ummmmmm, why did nobody else ever do this to me? What a life saver! While Dr. Stapleton worked, Alyssa massaged my temples to «draw the pain from the injection site.» She also helped control any bleeding.
When it was all said and done, I was not only thrilled with my results, I was AMAZED. Hands down, the best work I have ever had done, and I have had this procedure done about 8 times. I sent a picture to my friend and even she couldn’t believe it! NO BRUISING!!! I always bruise! Not this time. I usually have to wear dark lipstick the first week, but even now, 12 hours later, not a single mark.
Just want to say a big THANK YOU to Dr. Stapleton and Alyssa, and the staff. What a wonderful experience! I will be back to Kansas in a couple months and will DEFINITELY come back for a few other things. Return client for life!!!

I have roseaca on my face and have gone to 2 of my 3 treatments, my last one is in 2 weeks. I was treated by Kathy with IPL laser therapy and another laser type therapy (for roseaca). Both of my appointments have been on time & quick, but not rushed. Kathy really helped me feel at ease, explained everything really well, listened to my concerns/​questions. The sp design and décor is great, very peaceful, classy, and relaxing. I find the prices a little bit high, but I am kind of a cheap person. I think you get what you pay for here. Service is great and on point. No complaints. After my last visit I’m really considering getting a massage here.

I was here for my birthday and had a lovely time. I opted for a massage and pedicure. I also arrived early to spend time in the pools beforehand.
Things that were important to me were cleanliness, service, and beauty. For the expense, I wanted to be treated like royalty. I believe that was accomplished.
I did enjoy my massage, however 60 minutes was NOT long enough. Second, next time I go back, I really want to try the float chamber!

The facilities are lovely, really top notch.
However, my masseuse was really horrible. She talked and chewed gum the whole time. She also spent tons of time fussing with lotions and stuff around the room instead of actually performing the massage. At one point she put a whole bunch of lotion in her hands and then proceeded to grab my hair and lotion it up– yuck… which wasn’t the worst part…
I asked her to focus on my neck and shoulders, not sure why she only skimmed those areas… I left with tons of treatable knots under my shoulder blades. Also she massaged my armpit with her elbow, which miraculously found it’s way to my boob… a few times too many to be an odd coincidence.
She also turned my neck way farther than it wanted to go, which was not only uncomfortable and not relaxing, but it hurt and was harmful.
The manager did give me 20% off when I told her, but that is still $ 80 for a really horrible massage that left me feeling violated, gross greasy hair, and still all knotted up.

For now, I an only comment on the one service (IPL), that I received here. The facility is very striking and exactly what you’d want a spa to look and feel like. I have been to several offices that also provide «Spa-​style» services, but this is the first actual interior space that has impressed me in Kansas City.
Cathy has been working with my and IPL. I cannot tell you how enjoyable she has made this process. Cathy has previously been in Liberty at Ageless Reflections, and their operation has moved to this facility. Good Call.

Under new management, I think Spa Tuscano will be a place I go to again. A year ago my husband and I bought spa gift certificates for each other and I finally got to use mine.
I learned so much during my visit here. First, I was told that the gift cards legally don’t expire (I thought that was an odd way to word it.) Second, I’ll never get any massage under 90 minutes. There is no way a 60 minute massage can complete you. Third, I need one of those robes.
My masseuse was helpful and funny and her hands are made of velvet. Good Night. The 90 minutes flew by and I loved every second.
The lounge is a little weird, I didn’t feel super comfortable in it when it filled up. The co-​ed aspect of it didn’t bother me too much but I think it is important to mention. Clearly, I need to try this float thing next time.
Overall, a pretty great experience. It can get expensive, my 90 minute Relaxation massage was $ 125, but it’s totally worth it.

After a really bizarre massage experience last month at a small place in Westwood, I asked around for recommendations. The Spa Tuscano came highly recommended by a close friend so I decided to go for it and booked a couples’ massage for my boyfriend and me. (Sidenote: nothing is more awkward than scheduling a couples’ massage from your office cubicle. True story.) We were told to arrive a bit early so we could enjoy the European Bath Ritual, which I was pretty excited about.
We were greeted warmly at the front desk and then escorted to our respective locker rooms. Everything was really well-​appointed and I happily slipped into my bathing suit and one of the spa’s cozy robes and a pair of slippers before meeting my boyfriend for the bath ritual (three hot tubs — one hot, one warm, and one cool). We relaxed in each of the hot tubs until our spa attendant (I have no idea what to call her, but she escorted us around during the whole experience) came to get us so we could go to the «relaxation room» prior to our massages.
The relaxation room was cozy, with big comfy chairs, lemon-​infused water, hot tea and snacks. I would be lying if I said I didn’t shove trail mix down my throat like a boss. All of that relaxing made me hungry. But the room itself isn’t particularly relaxing when strangers are present and the only thing separating them from getting a full view of my birthday suit is an oversized robe.
Next up: the couple’s massage. Our massage therapists greeted us and took us to the massage room, which was big and luxurious. We were left to disrobe and get onto our respective massage tables. Despite some comedy involving my lack of coordination and getting onto my table, it was easy to settle in and relax.
The massage itself was GLORIOUS. Probably one of the best I’ve had. The massage therapist responded well to feedback and I was in a very happy place by the time our 45 minutes were up and stared at each other with goofy «so-relaxed-it’s-like-we’re-stoned» looks on our faces.
The couple’s massage experience itself was fine. Less intimate than it seems, only because I was way more focused on ME, ME, ME than any sense of togetherness.
We followed up our massages with a quick trip to the relaxation room, gulped down some water and headed back to our respective locker rooms to shower and change.
The good: pretty much everything. The European Bath Ritual was awesome, the robes were cushy, the showers were fabulous, and the massages — the main event — were magical.
The meh: the toiletries provided in the locker room, especially the shampoo and conditioner and the flimsy disposable combs.
The bad: the over-​attentiveness. While it’s nice to feel pampered, I don’t appreciate being scolded when I try to put on my own towel post-​European Bath Ritual. Or put on my own robe. Or dry my own swimsuit.
I’m pretty sure trips to The Spa Tuscano are now on our monthly to-​do list and I’m fully planning on a spa day complete with a facial, mani/​pedi and another massage sooner rather than later.

Last Friday, I entered into my first «float,» an age old tradition commonly referred to as a deprivation tank, with hopes of achieving a wellspring of creative imagery and ideas. I scheduled the «float» at Spa Tuscano in Braircliff Village and arrived feeling pretty tired and empty, for I was not sure about eating beforehand. My hostess led me to the locker room to leave behind my belongings and there I ditched my clothes in exchange for the luxurious white spa robe and slippers they provide. We then proceeded to a special room with three hot tubs geared for the Goldilocks of the spa world. They were hot, medium and cool in temperature and each boasted a waterfall that cascaded over a huge boulder backdrop and down into the pool of water. I was in hot tub heaven!
Fifteen minutes before my float, my hostess escorted me to the lounge where I made some tea and ate trail mix. She returned shortly and showed me to the room with the «float» tub in it. She explained to me how to position myself properly and described a few different ways that I could go about my meditation. The one thing that stuck with me was her suggestion to breathe deeply, inhaling positivity in and exhaling stresses out.
As I began my float, that is exactly what I did. As I inhaled, I thought of positive images, like hearts, stars, rainbows and unicorns. As I inhaled and cast out images of sad times, memories of pain and arguments with my exhalations. I began to feel like I was pushing it too hard mentally, so I just concentrated on my breathing by counting 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 for each breath in and out. I noticed a difference from yoga as I was able to expand my lungs to full capacity without the ground underneath me. My attention became centered on places in my body that were feeling pinches of pain, mainly my lower back and hips. Although I could feel my body releasing deeper and deeper, I was never able to fully separate my mind from that tinge of pain.
However, images did flow through my head: the number 4, an amazing swimsuit design, an idea to put all of the religious figures at the same table and open up dialogue, an idea about outer space travel and how to get kids to the moon without paying $ 500K. But one image kept popping up — my phone. I couldn’t get it out! I spend so much time on my phone talking and using it for networking, that I thought I could escape it for at least the hour that I was in my service. Ugh! I started thinking about my dogs a lot, too — and about taking them out to play. Maybe I was feeling guilty for being inside on such a lovely day? Regardeless, these images came to me near the end of my experience, so I guess I was ready to get back to life.
My hostess knocked, turned on the lights, and started the shower for me. I felt surprisingly rejuvinated, not the tired feeling I had when I walked in the door. However, I didn’t feel like I had mentally birthed anything exceptional and was a little disheartened. I realize that I will need to work through my aches and pains first to be able to fully get there. I also feel that the first time doing something new is just cracking open the door. I will need to go back a few times and feel more comfortable to really gain from it. I also think I should focus on one specific idea, and meditate on it to see what my singular focus can summons out of my subconscious. Lots to think about and some work to be done individually before returning.
What I did gain was understanding of the process and that for my individual journey there are some kinks to iron out. I look forward to it though. Growing is a process and even as a writer, not all experiences are shiny, happy ones.
