Was a great place to catch lunch… but it’s closed. Try out Piropos though… great food.

Went with a friend and came in around 7, we were the only people there originally. They were going to close, but stayed open for us and(which I felt bad about being a former server). They didn’t seem to mind and were very upbeat, Maggie was our server and she was very engaging and explained everything to a «T.» She even told us about the Tango dancing on Wednesdays and even at one point wrote down something funny on the box for a to go order we were bringing someone else at our request. The food was great, but sometimes the service makes a restaurant even better! She’s one you do not want to lose. We will be back! Thank you Maggie for a great unanticipated evening, it made leaving home after a long day worth it.

We ate at tango pizza last week for lunch. It is Piropo’s lunch spot, they have flatbread pizza, soup, sandwiches and empanadas. I tried the seafood empanada called del mar, the beef empanada, & the chicken enchilada. The chorizo sauce that comes in a little cup with all the empanadas is absolutely amazing I could drink it out of the cup it is so good. It is a different kind of chorizo than most people are used to it’s a sweet chorizo and not terribly spicy. The staff is really great they explain the menu and the different types of empanadas they have, and the two types of flatbread pizzas that they have. It’s a quaint little café with hightops and a few low tables. It’s a very warm and friendly environment. The Fish empanada was my favorite. It had shrimp, scallops, and tilapia. It was perfection in a pastry. And they were only a $ 1.50 each. We will be returning soon.
