Teddy’s Bigger Burgers

This review is based on a single visit in which we ordered a single food item. You can take it with a grain of salt. But since I won’t be back, I can only base the review on my one experience.
We went over to try out what my wife’s co-​worker described as the best chili cheese fries on the island. Being world-​renowned experts on the field, we figured we had to try them. The result was… meh.
We ordered a large chili cheese fries with onions. Thank goodness we brought our own ghost pepper sauce, which at least gave them a little zing. But for nearly $ 7, we were expecting a larger portion than what came out, and the liquid cheese on chili cheese fries is a big loser for us. The chili was all right, but there wasn’t enough of it for our taste. The onions got lost and really added nothing. The only thing that seemed above average was the fries, and that’s mostly a guess, since these were made limp by chili and liquid cheese.
We were even disappointed by the packaging. Since we made our order around 8:45 (just 15 minutes before closing time), they were making everything to-​go. We thought that was fine until we opened the back and discovered that there was no styrofoam or cardboard box; the fries-​chili-​cheese mélange were nested inside a piece of aluminum foil. Not very good for carrying far or eating part and keeping part for later.
The pricing at this spot is premium, so the product should be as well. We were underwhelmed.

BYOB (Bring Your Own Beer)… That was good enough to get the wife and I into the doors at this Kaneohe location. We stopped by Stewbum & Stonewall Brewing company on Kahuhipa Street first, to have our Growlers filled with our favorite beer, then headed down to Teddy’s, where they even provide you with paper cups and ice.
For a 3-​day weekend, lunchtime, at this location was busy with customers coming and going. The Teddy’s staff efficiently and professionally got the line moving quickly. There is ample parking, but with a Starbucks, Petco and Walgreens next door, it can get a little chaotic.
The wife ordered a Teri Burger with Sweet Potato Fries and I ordered a Slaw Burger with Tots. The Slaw Burger was tasty, but a little messy… maybe the next time, I will order a more basic burger to go along with the beer. The Sweet Potato Fries and Tater Tots were great and a definite must have.

We love the food but the service is terrible; especially in Kaneohe-​our home town

I went up and asked where my food was; I had already paid. The two young ladies looked at each other as if they had no idea what I was talking about; remember, there was no one ahead of me wham I walked in and paid for my phone order. I saw a bag sitting on the counter near the kitchen. I was sarcastic and said, «Do you think that might be it?» They stared at each other and one grabbed it and handed it to me
No apology, no offer to make it right for their cluelessness; maybe if you socialized less you could actually provide customer service
Will NEVER eat at this Teddy’s; this was the 5^th time they’ve messed up our order in 6 months
Food was cold from sitting on the counter
Stop hiring kids who are clueless and managers who don’t train them-​pathetic

So many incredible choices. My favorite is the pastrami burger with I believe boars head pastrami the best in the world. You see the photos show David’s Melon shake and my favorite dreamsickle shake with a twist. I asked for half-​and-​half and they gladly agreed to put dream sickle on the bottom and melon shake on top, so Ono. Staff is so helpful and services as good as it gets when super busy ‚(all the time).

The veggie burger is really good. I always get it with avocado. The shakes aren’t that great. I ordered one once and they were out of 3 of the flavors I wanted and they told me after I already paid for it. The salmon burgers are good too.

Really nice place to have lunch. As a tourist that got lost and didn’t plan the visit. Choices were many but decided to try this «burger» joint… Nice! Good former style burger that you can order, rare, medium, well, etc. Long gone in the states, mainland’. Good service, and the food… To follow.
Well, after medium rare Teri-​burger ordered? It was exactly that medium rare, and was very tasty, hot, and delivered to my table. Good job, may success be with your company, so I and enjoy it back on the mainland, soon?

The food was good! Great variety of burgers and have cooked however you like. Hopefully they get the order right… we were not so luck on one of our burgers!

Super yummy and fun place to take guest for burgers! The options are endless and they have the sweet potato fry option that makes me happy. Or I get the salad! Yummo!

This was literally my favorite burger place! Great burgers (takes a little long since they’re cooked to order) and yummy yummy shakes. Usually the customer service is fine, esp for what’s a fast food place but today…
I ordered cheddar cheese on a burger and (and paid extra for it) but instead it came covered in melted pepper jack. I pointed out the error, and they brought out a COLD slice of cheddar cheese in a fry container instead of remaking my burger. I must admit, I was shocked and offended. So much for being my hotspot…

I had high hopes for this place the burger is good though but the Cassidy really needs to have more enthusiasm and her people skills have much to be desired. No thanks or pleasantries and if she was actually listening to the order we gave or repeated it she would have probably got it correct.

If you’re in Oahu, this is a must get.
The menu has so many options, I got the teriyaki veggie burger with a hash brown on it!
The shake menu is extensive. The atmosphere is of your regular fast food place.
Not the cheapest food, all I got was my burger and I paid almost $ 10.

Food was great. Prices so-​so. Service fantastic.
The chocolate shake is only like $ 3 and a drink is $ 2ish, so I’m not sure why we were charged $ 3.50 extra for a shake and then didn’t get the drink. Maybe just don’t buy the combo if you want a shake? Or check the math. Haha.
Tasty burger with all the fixings.

Drove past one of these while living in SoCal everyday on my way to school and work, but it took moving to Oahu for me to finally give it a try. Pretty good for a build your own burger chain, much better then SoCal’s Rounds.
For my first round I didn’t build my own, but went with one of their pre-​designed burgers. I got the Kailua, which is teriyaki caramelized onions, mushrooms, swiss cheese and lettuce. The teriyaki was a little overwhelming, but considering they over cooked my meat, i asked for medium rare and got medium well, I won’t complain too much this time. Overall however it was a good burger.
My boyfriend and I got an order of garlic fries, not a fan, and chili cheese fries, cheap quality but reminded me oft he bricks of chili cheese fries I’d get at the fair so I’m a fan.
Overall I liked I liked what I had and wouldnt’ mind going back.

Felt like a good burger tonight so ventured in to Teddy’s. Only 1 person ahead of me so ordering was quick and staff were efficient and friendly. Ordered a regular burger but added cheese, grilled onions and bacon. I decided I would choose a healthy burger tonight. Yeah right! Bacon on everything please.
Wait was longer than I thought and waited almost 20 minutes which seemed long when there were about 8 customers in there and appeared to be only 3 of us waiting for orders to go. Everyone sitting at tables were already eating.
Anyway I got my food and headed out. The burger was delicious and the «special sauce» added a great flavor to an already great burger. The burger was big (tried the 7 oz one) and you really needed a fork but the sauce dripped down your fingers… Yummy! Probably should give you a bib versus napkins as they just did not cut it. I went through 6 napkins eating my burger. Definitely will be back but probably will go for the 5 ounces next time.

The last few times I have gone to Teddy’s I have been disappointed. This use to be my go to place for a chicken sandwich. But the last few times my order has been wrong or this last time my bun was burned. I would have waited longer to get my burger than get back to my office to a burned bun.

Food: 4 – 5 for taste, 3 – 4 for quality (varies)
Teddy’s is generally a pretty good burger place; a lot of people I know claim it as a favorite — so I end up having to eat here often enough.
The only problem I consistently have with all locations is temperature. If I ever do have a burger I usually get it medium/​medium-​well, but every time I’ve ordered it at those temperatures they tend to be pretty rare. I learned my lesson over time and just order them well done. For some reason though I order them well done, there’s still a little pink in the middle, but it’s palatable anyway.
Today the food was pretty bad. Maybe a new cook? I ordered well-​done, but, the burger was reeeeally pink so it had that weird gummy texture of raw hamburger. Fries weren’t salted and there were a few green ones in there. Onion rings had a really weird taste and extremely greasy (more than usual and more than any fried food should be).
Overall I’d say worth a visit if you’re a burger person, but beware of inconsistency, and my advice would be if you generally like just a touch of pink in your burger, you’re better off just getting well-​done; I’ve yet to ever have a burger cooked well there.

Good staff and good burgers. Price can add up pretty quick for the specialty burgers.

This is a fairly new location for Teddy’s, located by Petco and Walgreens in the Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center.
They’re famous for their gourmet take on burgers, offering twists such as a Hawaiian Burger, a Tex-​Mex burger and your original gourmet burger. They even have quarter pound and half pound patties. Also offered are a wide variety of shakes an gourmet takes on fries! You can get anything from spicy fries to Nacho fries.
I got their quarter pound patty and their Nacho Fries for lunch. Their quarter pound burger is large, and might be something you cut in half and will want to take home or share. Their Nacho fries are covered with ooey, gooey melty Nacho cheese, bacon bits and jalapeño slices. They’re delicious, but they make more for a meal, rather than a side. Especially if you got a burger.
If you order a burger here, get the regular fries. You may not have room for any fancy take. If you order speciality fries, then that’s your meal right there. Either one will make for a great lunch.
The prices are not McDonald’s or Burger King prices. These are gourmet burgers and fries… and you will pay for it. However, it’s worth stopping by for some juicy eats!

I’ve eaten at a lot of the Teddy’s locations. This one is no different than the others, except it seemed less busy than it’s Kailua counterpart.
Burgers here are always good, cooked the way I want. This time, I checked in and got some free bbq pork fries for, which was okay. It was a little spicier than I would have liked, but it was free. I’m glad I got to taste them, but I probably wouldn’t get them again.
Staff was friendly, and the tables were clean!

This place wins my heart (and tummy) over time and time again!
You come knowing exactly what you’re getting each and every time. The cook on the burgers is perfect. Depending on how hungry you are you can the 5, 7, or 9 oz. if beefs not your thing, they have chicken sandwiches and salads too. The bread is soft and fresh made here in Hawaii– gotta support local. And the shakes… HEAVEN! Then there’s the service. The people are always friendly, always helpful– never a bad experience. The final touch that I love is the wet naps they pass out at the end of your meal. Such a simple gesture but I love it.
My go to picks are the Kaneohe burger, garlic fries, and the peanut butter shake. I’ve strayed trying other favors but I always come back the the PB.
