Paws For a Cause

The staff are clueless. First, it took them over a week to call me back for an assessment. I’ve taken my dog to over 4 daycares (all were great and only changed because of a move), and at initial assessment, the staff has always cheerfully taken my dog and had me leave immediately so the dog can interact with other dogs for a couple of hours, showing that it’s a fun and safe environment.
From the beginning, they approached my dog with an almost vet-​like behavior, cautiously petting her as if something bad is about to happen to her and they are trying to soothe her. They had me stick around as a «safety-​net,» which was visibly causing my dog to be even more nervous as she just wanted to leave and be with me. They forced an interaction with other dogs while on a leash, all with that clueless and nervous demeanor. It honestly made ME nervous watching them; I’m sure my dog could sense it more. After a 15 minute assessment where they deemed her unfit, I took her to a daycare in town immediately after, and she was perfectly fine.
Place is also small and has no outside section. Waste of my time.

Excellent Doggie Daycare with true pros who love dogs on staff. Our German Shepherd is treated like a queen at Paws and gets quality time honing her obedience skills too. She literally doesn’t want to leave when we pick her up. She’s also in the puppy class which challenges her and has helped bring out her sweetness and smarts. I love that all of this is available in a setting that helps Hawaii’s younger generation too!

I can’t say enough good things about Paws! The facility is always immaculate, the staff is friendly and knowledgable, and most importantly, the dogs are happy. Unlike a lot of dog daycare facilities, they aren’t just left on their own in a large pen; the staff is always with the animals and carefully selects which pups will play best with each other. My dog even came home knowing a few new tricks. Every time we walk past the building he tries to sprint in the door, and goes nuts at the mention of daycare now. The best part though, is he comes home tired (not an easy task for a two year old heeler).

Mele, our 14-​month-​old yellow lab loves spending days at Paws and doesn’t want to leave when we go to pick her up! She is still a puppy and needs the so-​important socialization, playing, sharing, and learning with other dogs and people, all while expending that crazy energy!
The new Paws facility is always so clean, well equipped, and offers various services with a patient and caring staff. Assistant Manager Marie Selarque’s professional credentials are impressive, and her training and love of dogs is obvious when seeing her interact with them.
We highly recommend this new canine care center in Kaneohe.

HAKU, our seven year old labradoodle, has loads of fun when she spends the day with Paws. She recognizes the approach to the parking lot with excitement. After a day of play and activity, she sleeps really soundly that night. Glad that they have overnight boarding, for the times we need to go to conventions on the mainland, or even outer island for a weekend.
