Yesterday, I called the shop and Tim answered. I asked questions and a for quote to install a deck into my BMW e30. The same day, I went in so that they could check out my car to see what decks there were and which adapter would fit. I went in and out really quick and Tim was very helpful. I came back today and he remembered me. The moment I walked into the door he greeted me and I told him which deck I wanted. He asked me for my keys and they got started right away. In and out in 1 ½ hours, everything is working great, he answered all my questions and I am satisfied with the service they provided! Thank you!

Got an HID kit installed (that they had in-​stock). They were able to do it on the spot, and finished it within about 45 minutes.
Aside from today’s visit, I purchased a kit from these guys about 3 – 5 years ago, and to this day, it was running great. Decided to change it because had some issues with the ballasts of the kit (we installed it ourselves). I was very satisfied with the kit I had purchased from them, which is what drove me to get another one.

They are LOADED. They have all kinds of sound systems/​stereo equipment and alarms for your car. I’m sure they have even more stuff besides that, too!
AC blows cold, just a nice place. There is a small table and chairs for customers to wait, but Windward Mall is just a walk down the street!

Car audio shops are probably the scariest businesses to go into. So very often they are ran by crooked dudes that will take advantage of anybody they can. I called Windward audio, asked for a price on a simple alarm system for my 04 Tacoma that was a nice brand. They gave told me a price that I was comfortable with. I told them when I could come, when I got there at specified time they started it quickly, finished quickly, gave me the price they offered on the phone. Joe was the one who helped me most and he seemed like a pretty straightforward dude trying to run a clean business. A simple Viper alarm was installed, it works great no problems with install. Wow! How come all audio shops can’t function like that!
They also had prices posted on a lot of the car audio which I think is awesome, it shows that they are being up front. Here is the price, you like, you buy. Not like a lot of shops where you ask them how much, they look you up and down and decider how much they can get you to pay for it. I think I come off like someone who doesn’t know much about that business but I do, and am passionate about big sounds. I love designing my stereo, building boxes, doing my own installs. But for certain things like alarms, getting something I need fast, or even a little help I appreciate very much having some people I can trust. I hope my experiences with Windward Audio will stay as smooth as the first one. Thanks guys!

I went to these guys to have a stereo installed in my BMW X5 and was quoted a price of $ 400 just for installation. I then went to B & T Auto Sports and was quoted the $ 150 installation to install that same radio.

Really nice place they carry most of major brands their prices are very good and they do excellent work nice guys would recommend to all my friends

I live in Makakilo but would drive all the way to Kaneohe just to have hem work on my car. Dont trust anyone else but these guys they know what they are doing. I had them put in a new deck also wire so i could hook up my own sub. They did that with no hesitation. Just want to say thanks and I wont go anywhere and will recommend to anyone!

I paid 170 $ to buy and install a head unit into my car and when we found that it had been wired wrong they said it wasn’t their fault or problem and refused to help fix it. The guy at the front desk wasn’t friendly at all.

Fantastic service. I was able to walk in and pick out the stereo I wanted and get it installed in an hour. After the work was done the owner (Tim) helped me set it all up. Definitely recommend you do by the store if you are looking for car stereo products.

Brought my Ford Explorer in today to get a new stereo fitted, they helped me pick out a stereo that suited my needs and budget and had it fitted before I had time to post pictures on facebook from a hike I’d completed earlier this morning! Top service!

Ok so check this out. We live in Kapolei and drive to the other side because of the service and they know what they are doing.
I called them about getting bluetooth in my 07 Murano. They where very helpful on the phone. They told me they had the dash kit in stock not like others on the island.
They also said they could get it taken care of, so I set up and appointment dropped off car and was done in 30 min. We ended up getting a Alpine DVD player everything was installed and we has since not had anything to worry about.
Look if you are looking for some cheep place then this is not the place.
If you want good quality work done for a fare price then this is the place to go.
I did read the reviews below but did not pay any mind to them because the ones that where complaining dont seem true.
Yeah if I had them put a unit in my car and I didnt want to pay for it I would expect the cops to be call too. LOL come on use common since.
Since I have sent my wife and she too has had a great experience. She was not taken advantage of because she was a girl.
She told them she wanted a new deck with bluetooth and Balm she got it.
And wow she paid and nothing wrong with the car.
All and all I have told my family and friends and clients this is the place to go.

I bought a new Pioneer deck from them, not even a year ago and it’s only been problems.
They had the wire feed through my glove box, broke a clip so my glove box just falls out when you open it. Then the USB cord they supplied me with stopped working after one month. & I’m not talking white apple cord, I’m talking black aux cord that I plug my personal USB into. Took it back and they fed it through my center console instead. Well, that also stopped working so I took it somewhere else. Where they then told me, the deck may be Pioneer, but the cage and everything else was Kenwood. Assumed it was used and I didn’t even get it done professionally because the HOT GLUE gun job was shit. Also informed me that there really isn’t anything they could do because I’m going to have the same problems pop up here and there and should probably just get a new radio. Again, it’s not even one year old.
Never going back for car work. Maybe to bitch them out and get some kind of compensation.
Also, I have a Mercedes, not some busted bucket.

I bought a 2009 Nissan Versa and wanted to switch out the stock radio (with no aux input) for something more my style (Kenwood deck with USB, Bluetooth, iPod/​iPhone input). Joe took care of choosing exactly the kind of deck I needed and installing the deck for $ 200. Super friendly, great customer service. DEFINITELY go check ‘em out for any of your audio needs!

We always come here for our stereo and alarm needs! The customer service is always on point & if we ever run into problems they’re always so helpful and understanding. I would give this place more than 5 stars if it would allow me. We live in Kapolei and we wouldn’t go anywhere else. I would highly recommend windward audio to all of my family and friends.

This is the third time that I have used windward audio for my audio needs. Over all they have been great.
This last time lets just say I got one awesome deal. The installation was awesome and professional.
Although the system did have technical issues the team worked hard to solve the problem. They apologized for my having to come back a couple times. But in the end it was the amp that was creating the problem so they replaced it with another brand new amp.
I even have gone back to have them adjust it to my liking and they have no problem making time to give me awesome customer service.
All in all I am pleased with windward audio. My aunty and cousin have also used them. I defiantly plan on using them again.

I bought a new head unit for my BMW from an online dealer and ran into a snag in the install. This shop had the speedwire to help me finish the job– but I still has an issue putting all the plugs back behind the dash correctly. The installers at windward car audio helped me tremendous by cleaning up and securing my new Alpine 42BT in a very professional manner. And only charged me $ 20. I know their equipment prices are slightly higher than the mainland, but the quality of their installation work is worth the few extra $$…

Fried my Volkswagen because this place has no idea what the fuck they are doing on european cars!!! Fried my headlight switch, ECU AND ALL THE SPEAKERS WERE BLOWN IN A COUPLE MONTHS! Took it back and they short fixed it until it costed me $ 1,500 down the road to repair. They left two open circuits just to make the damn system work! If you cant do it stop claiming you can and ripping people off! Also they didn’t even give a damn receipt or my boxes so i honestly dont even know what i had installed!

It’s easy to feel cheated or to focus on the negative when you are ignorant of something — like me with car audio. But I did my research and went back to these guys (had a small installation a couple years earlier that went smooth too). I got a 10′ kicker/​box, Kenwood amp, 2×6.5″ speakers, JVC deck, wires, harness, and installation. The total price was much higher than I planned but all the quotes (walk-​in) were about the same. I asked for some good clear rich sounds and this is what I almost got. I had to go back and pay $ 50 more for some better 6.5″ speakers because the $ 49 Crunches they sold me sounded just like the name. Tim was cool about it though and replaced them, and only charged the price difference for the higher grade Alpines ($ 100). They lifetime guarantee installation and 30 day exchange on products which is cool. The sounds are Banging now with that Kicker/​Alpine combo, and the installation looks smooth too. Thanks fellas!

To start off I have been looking for a good deal to get a DVD player and DVD Headrest for my car because I know my 2yr old daughter will like it (she likes Disney movies) and it will keep everyone entertained. I looked around, called around, Googled and landed on Windward Audio’s pretty cool website! I also read some reviews but since I am a curious person I wanted to investigate myself and go to this store, plus it said on there website that they have a large selection.
When I got there I was surprised at how big the place was and they do have the largest selection I have seen. I was greeted by a few guys so they seemed nice. After talking with them for a while about the system I wanted, they showed me to the Kenwood! That dvd player was pretty sick! It had all the bells and whistles! I wanted it and the price was super reasonable! They gave me a better price then all the other stores I looked at. The installation was professional and clean. Also they were fast! I’d say it took less then an hour for the Kenwood system and dvd headrests. They also showed me how to use the Kenwood just to get me familiar with it! All in all I was very happy with there service, prices, Car audio selection, and there knowledge of there inventory.
I would definitely go back there again and i have already told a bunch of friends where I got my dope DVD player system! Ask for Joe or Tim! More importantly both my wife and daughter love the fact they can watch movies in the car!

So, I got this cool Soundstream VIR-​8011n DVD deck from the hubby for my birthday! YAy ME! Took it here to have it installed… they took it in same day, and were done within an hour and a half! (NOT BAD) When I first pulled up, both of the garage employees were cranky, and shaking their head that a customer had just walked in at 3PM when they closed at 6PM. haha DEAL WITH IT HOMEBOYS! Walking past those two knuckleheads, I walked into the office/​sales room and it was surprisingly neat and large for an audio store. Some of the guys sounded knowledgeable, some didn’t. The guy who rung me up was undoubtedly JUST a good salesperson, overly assuring… you know that kine!
All in all… I think their price for just a straight install was average ($ 80 + $ 30 for the spacers).
1 DOWNFALL: they did not give back the keys needed to remove the unit (in case i want to take it somewhere else, or do it myself) or the original operator’s manual, although I have not yet called to see if i can get them back.

This is the absolute worst place to take your car. I took my car in to install an alarm because I had lost my keys in the mall and didn’t want to take the chance of someone walking around with possible access to my car. So I took it to Windward Audio where they said they could disarm the factory alarm and install a new one. WRONG. My wife’s spare key/​remote could still open the car. «But they can’t take your car because of the starter kill feature», the guy said. Hello!!! they can still get into the car to steal stuff. «Oh we can’t remove the factory alarm it might mess up the system» Then they were gonna charge me an extra $ 50 bucks to remove the alarm they put on when I told them I was going elsewhere. I wanted to leave so they called the cops and the cops made me pay for an alarm that was sub-​par. Then later I found out all of my plugs in the car didn’t work so I couldn’t use any of my car chargers. DO NOT GO THERE. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!!!
