The Gazebo Restaurant at Macy’s Windward Mall was where you would find me about 4 – 5 times a week on my lunch break. ALL of the staff is very friendly and helpful. They know me by name, and always seem to remember the customizations I make to my food(i.e. no capers in the salad, etc.). They are very nice and customer-service oriented. I saw a review earlier on how the staff«got someone’s order wrong everytime» and let me just say that if you order something that is on display in front of you(in their hot plates), then they serve it right there. If it’s wrong, it’s probably because they can’t hear you(it IS a kitchen) or misheard what you said. They have never made any mistakes on my orders, even with all of the customizations I do(no gravy on the mashed potatoes, etc.). They serve a complete meal — it comes with soup or salad, and two sides. This is for the entrees. The daily specials menu changes every day. If you order a burger or sandwich combo, etc., it usually comes with French Fries. Here a list of things I enjoy: Chopped Salad(regular menu) — salad with feta cheese, chicken, avocado, capers, tomato, onion, lettuce, tossed in a Balsamic Vinaigrette(really good, tastes as if the dressing is made/mixed in the restaurant). French Dip w/Fries(regular menu) — Fries are always served hot and fresh. If they have to cook it, they will bring it out to you. French dip is tasteful, and served with a pickle on the side. Bacon Cheeseburger(regular menu) — Best cheeseburger in the mall. However, this takes a little more time because they make it to order. Comes with fries, and the sandwich includes lettuce, tomato, and pickle. Really good! Basil Chicken(specials menu that changes) — Really tasteful baked, basil chicken! You can really taste the basil. I usually get it with mashed potatoes and hot veggies. Also comes with soup or salad. PASTA! My favorite. They serve different ones throughout the week — I have eaten the baked spaghetti, spaghetti with meat sauce, light sauce with clam, lasagna, and mac and cheese(kids menu). It varies with the day you go. They also have wonderful desserts. I love the cream cheese brownie and apple pie. Get it while you can! This place is a quiet alternative to the food court. It is cafeteria style and comfortable. Good for families. If you eat in, you get one free fountain drink refill. I ate here for about one whole year straight on my lunch break at work. I usually read the newspaper or bring a book. Really love this place.

Had lunch at the Gazebo(Macy’s), Windward Mall, Hawaii(Oahu). The corn chowder was thick like pudding and could be eaten with a fork and it was room temperature. The turkey, stuffing, and gravy were so salty and also room temperature. The pork and peas were sweet and salty and also room temperature. What a disgusting lunch. This is the second time we had an awful lunch at this Macy’s. Definitely not returning to eat here ever again. What a waste of money.

If you are looking for a quiet spot to eat some food, this is the place. The food is so-so, but it is quieter than the food court.

If you like dining outdoors with Mother Nature, but don’t like the inconvenience of your napkins flying away; leaves dropping into your food; and/or being surprised by a passing shower, then the Gazebo Restaurant is for you! I really enjoyed dining in the natural lighting while watching the clouds roll by in the bright blue sky, and the trees swaying in the breeze. I also enjoyed the convenience of a restroom nearby; having cool air conditioning; and sitting in a beautiful, clean environment! The Gazebo Restaurant is located on the second floor of Macy’s in Kaneohe’s Windward Mall, behind the Housewares Department. It’s a cafeteria style set up where you look at the board, make your selections, put your food on your tray, & go to the cashier to pay. They will give you a number and bring your food to your table when it’s ready. The«Aunties» are very nice and friendly. I would watch them hugging certain regular customers and greeting them by name. They apologized for the take out containers and the plastic utensils. Their dishwasher is not working at this time. I arrived at 11 a.m. — just when they started the lunch menu. The Nori-wrapped Ahi Katsu caught my eye. It sounded different and I was really curious, so I got it! Yum! There was a light Panko crust on it and tasty Homemade Oriental Dressing. People who looked at my photo commented about the mashed potatoes & gravy. I hardly ever get a chance to have mashed potatoes, so I’ll often order it… rather than rice. hahaha! However, I ran out of gravy, so I spooned some Clam Chowder on it and it worked! My meal also came with ogo(seaweed), which to me needed to have some kind of dressing on it because the ocean taste wasn’t too appealing. I swirled the ogo in the Oriental dressing which helped it become more palatable. The beans and the peas in the upper left corner of the photo were a little over cooked and the color & texture were not appealing. Again, the Clam Chowder came to the rescue! My entrée included Soup or Salad and luckily I picked the Clam Chowder instead of the tomato basil soup. The Clam Chowder was a little thin, but I liked the big chunks of potato and clam. I also got the Apricot White Chocolate Chip scone. Mmm! It was still warm and was really good! I also looked at the corn bread and the muffins… I think I have to come back for those! I’ll also be back because the take Macy’s gift cards for payment — that’s a good deal!

Hidden in the 2nd floor of Macys in Windward Mall is The Gazebo, the cafeteria style restaurant. Step into this place and you’ll feel like you are back in 1980s. The furniture is 80s, food is 80s, and I love this 80s feel to it! It’s hard to find place like this. It’s not like bills Waikiki so you won’t find any organic fancy food. They serve good old comfort food that hasn’t been changed since the 80s. The natural sun light coming into the restaurant so it’s really comfy to stay. People over the counter are super kind. The cafeteria style reminds me the time when I was a student. You’ll feel quit nostalgic in this restaurant if you were in high school in the 80s like me. But if you were born in the 80s, you’ll have no idea what I’m talking about.

This is a true hidden gem from the busy and usual food court downstairs of Windward Mall. The cafeteria-style restaurant offers a wide variety of food, generous serving size and an impeccable service at an affordable price. They have their usual everyday breakfast menu and their daily lunch and dinner specials. During lunch time, most of the customers are senior citizens and probably taking advantage of this not so crowded area of the mall. Their food is not fine dining quality but it is not cheap food court quality too. It’s tasty and their serving size is also very generous. One more thing that is good about this restaurant is that their service is great! The moment you fall in line or just even browsing the menu board, you won’t feel overwhelmed and they’ll just let you take your time. Once you decided to get a food, they’ll accomodate you with a smile and some small talk. :) If your food selection still needs to be cooked or warmed up, just pay it, go to your desired seat or table and after a few minutes of wait, they will even serve it you! How fancy is that for a cafeteria-style restaurant? :)

Time does fly! The last time I wrote a review of the Gazebo Restaurant was in 2007… where does the time go? The family and I drove over to the Windward side to check out cars at Toyota City, and after that the kids were hungry and I was getting lightheaded from lack of food, so we drove over to Windward Mall to eat at the Gazebo. In case you’ve never noticed it, the Gazebo Restaurant is on the second floor of Macy’s, located next to the housewares department. I can’t believe I never mentioned this before, but the people in this restaurant are so friendly. My kids took awhile to make up their minds, and the woman taking the order told them, «Take your time.» She smiled and joked with us. Then, another woman who made the sandwiches asked us about our day and we had a pleasant conversation with her, too. Now the food is not the kind that spoiled rich kids or self-proclaimed«foodies» are going to appreciate. The salad that accompanied my burger was basic iceberg lettuce. But the burger was tasty, and I always like looking out the big window at part of Kaneohe town and the Koolau Mountains beyond. But more than the food, it’s the low-key ambiance of this place and the genuinely friendly service that brings us back time after time. If any of you are interested in opening a restaurant that caters to those in the 50-something or older demographic, I will tell you, you will strike gold if you hire people who are friendly to their customers. Baby Boomers like me are happy to return to a place over and over again when they are greeted with genuine smiles and treated with friendliness and love. I honestly don’t use this adjective much, but I love this little restaurant and I love the people working in it!

Macy’s GAZEBO @ Pearlridge Started Christmas shopping and really enjoyed the buzz from the Macy’s One Day Sale. I needed a quiet place so we went to the GAZEBO. First, we shared the fried rice breakfast. It was good but the best thing was the scrambled eggs weren’t ‘rubberized’(as most scrambled eggs are when I go out to eat breakfast). But this is what I fell in love with, the SCONES!!! Beautifully crisp on the outside and melt in your mouth on the inside. I got the chocolate chip scone. The chocolate flavor was evident and delicious. A nice way to energize and go back to Christmas shopping.

This little gem in the heart of Windward Mall Macys is what my quite picky boyfriend and I salivate over when we are in the mood for a fat shit breakfast. On numerous occasions we have wanted to eat their Loco Mocos so bad that we jump in the car and go to the mall forgetting that this place does not open until Macys opens. I swear at least once or twice I reminded him that they wouldnt be open but Mr. hopeful wanted to go check anyways. On those days we usually go downstairs to mocha-java and visit our favorite barista Annie who is always so friendly and always remembers our order. Then we take our coffee up to macys and enjoy it with our breakfast. Lunch is good too. One shopping day we ate at Gazebo for breakfast and lunch. My boyfriend loves the mushroom chicken. Also their cornbread is a winner. The menu is simple but I have never left Gazebo unsatisfied, and that isnt really normal for me. This is our Go-to spot.

Recently gave this place a second try after a disappointing first experience more than a year ago. I’m sad to report that nothing has improved. I ordered different items this time. A «hot» pastrami sandwich which came with potato salad $ 8.75. The pastrami was pulled out of the fridge and warmed in the micro which left the edges of most pieces overcooked, hard & crunchy(inedible, i had to peel these parts off) while the inside portions of the meat were still ice cold. It was put on a store bought loaf of bread with veggies & condiments. The pastrami had no flavor at all. My cheap pastrami sandwiches I make at home are better. The potato salad had a disgusting flavor. It tasted like it had been sitting in a fridge filled with raw meats for a few days & the potatoes had absorbed that flavor immensely. Very grosse! My son had a Teri burger & Fries $ 8.95. His burger patty was a frozen type store bought patty and they served it w/a very watered down teri sauce on the side that slid right off the burger when drizzled on it. And you had to pay extra for that sauce! His fries although brown in color because they were overcooked were actually the best part of the whole meal & that’s not saying much. 2 strikes & they’re out. I’m never going here again!

Liberty House… what many memories do you bestow upon me. If you’re ever in windward mall & tired of those same places to eat, and feeling a little café, bistro feel then come on downnn! On the top floor of macys, located far back where you’ll find house hold items, you’ll find this cute café next to the bathrooms. They offer anything from burgers to full meals and even scones if you’re just in the mood for some snackin. I got the mushroom chicken plate which comes with choice of two sides(stuff like mash potatoes, rice, or steamed veggies) and comes with soup or salad. now don’t be fooled & think«ohh that small cup size soup that you finish in two spoon fulls» no no NO! it’s a huge bowl! i highly recommend the clam chowder. Nothing soupy, so it’s pretty thick, and when it is, you know legit! the mushroom chicken came with brown gravy all overrrr so you really can’t go wrong. They said people love their cornbread, so i’ll come back and report when i find that out!

Simple comfort food in a hidden quiet oasis, inside Macy’s Windward Mall… We really like the seclusion of the restaurant away from the hustle and bustle of Windward Mall. Food is pretty simple and usually there are 2 to 3 daily specials that change daily. Ordering concept is Cafeteria style… grab your tray, place order, slide your tray on the rails, if your food is being prepared, the staff will bring it to your table, get drinks, slide your tray to the cashier, find an open table… Some daily specials we see regularly are Hawaiian Plate, Beef Macaroni with Garlic Bread, Roast Turkey, Korean Chicken with Fried Rice, Beef Curry…

This is a fun place to eat after a day of shopping at Windward Mall. Tucked away in a corner of Macy’s the atmosphere at the Gazebo is nice and quite. I always knew the Gazebo was around. I had always assumed that this was an expensive ritzy place to eat because it is in Macy’s. I found out that the prices are actually quite fair. The food is mostly deli style stuff. Soup, sandwich, steak, and a few daily specials. I had the soup and sandwich combo. It was a Tuna with a cream of spinach soup. The quality of the food was great. This restaurant has a large glass window that looks out at Kaneohe town. There is something nice in enjoying a hot bowl of soup while watching people outside deal with the wet and cold. There is also lots of natural light light in this restaurant, which makes it a great place to read a book or magazine. It is also apparent that this is a well managed business. All of the employees are very polite and service oriented.

All the food here has been getting consistently smaller over the years. Also they prepare less and less of their food on the grill and more and more in the microwave. My $ 7.50 french dip sandwich still managed to fill me up. They have breakfast until 11(which seems like a waste to me, but whatever). Still a good place to go if you don’t want to go to the food court.
