I worked with Steve to plan my November wedding. We are from the east coast, so Steve was great at helping us do our planning remotely so that we could just show up for our big day. He is great — he knows the perfect areas around the island that are relatively secluded so you can get those great tourist-​free shots, and is good at suggesting places if it is raining (which is what happened to us). He is awesome and fun to shoot with, and gave us good direction for our posture to get great pictures. Finally, he is super accommodating. We wanted sunset pictures, but it was very cloudy the day of our wedding, so we couldn’t get that crisp sunset we wanted. Since he wasn’t that busy the rest of the week, he offered to meet us on a different day to get sunset pictures, which turned out to be some of our favorite pictures.
I highly recommend Steve of Dream Weddings — he is a professional and makes the day as easy as possible!

So we got married 10 months ago and I forgot to post a review. I always heard that weddings were expensive, stressful but our experience with Steve it was the exact opposite.
He was so nice in dealing with my wife & I, he gave great advice when it came to location, flowers and make-​up. I was a little worried about the photos because I’m dark and my wife and very fair skinned but the photos came out spectacular, never have I seen better wedding photos. With that said make sure you spend the extra $ for the «golden hour» time.
We were slightly worried about all the people behind us when he was taking pictures but when we received them they were nowhere to be seen. So thank you Steve for the stress-​free wedding and amazing photos.

This review is long over due! My husband and I eloped to Hawaii for memorial day weekend and was married on 5.25.15 first thing in the morning. I contacted Steve a month in advance, very short notice, and he was amazing from the start. We exchanged emails and had several phone conversations, and he was very considerate of the various time zones that I was working in at the time. We arrived into Hawaii two days before the wedding. Our initial planned location for the wedding had to be changed for the Memorial Day crowd, however, Steve jumped into action and was able to make arrangements for us to get married right outside our hotel, The Grand Waikikian, on the beach. It was absolutely wonderful and my dream came true that day, thanks to Steve. I had always wanted to get married on a beautiful island on the beach with just the Love of My Life and that is exactly what happened. The Minister/​Preacher that joined our union was heaven sent and exactly what I requested from Steve. When we returned to reality, a week later, Steve was in constant contact, providing us with updates on the HD Video, Pictures he and his apprentice had taken. He gave us additional photos from his apprentice at no charge! The wedding video was received well in time before our state side Luau reception and let me just tell you all, our guest was amazed by the quality and professionalism of the video. We had it playing the entire time inside, and one of my girlfriends walked up to me and said, «I had to take a double take, I did not realize that this was your wedding video, it is star quality, I thought I was watching a movie or TV show!!» Kudos to you Steve and thank you to infinity for such a grand experience! I highly recommend Dream Weddings to anyone who is in search for great quality, fair prices and memories to treasure forever!

From the first time that I had spoken with Steve over the phone, I felt comfortable. He sounded confident in his abilities, asked specific questions regarding how we would like the ceremony to be performed, the amount of pictures, the flowers, etc, and kept in constant contact with us via phone and email throughout the entire planning process. Planning a wedding is already nerve wracking, but planning a wedding while you’re thousands of miles away is even more so. Steve’s constant communication eased this anxiety.
On the day of the ceremony my husband and I were not disappointed! Steve lived up to every expectation we had! the ceremony ran smoothly, every detail was taken care of, and steve treated us as if we were his first and only clients. He was so personable and showed a real passion for what he does. You can tell that he’s not only talented, but loves his work!
The officiant, Elias Parker, was also amazing! He gave a beautiful service with a very personal and spiritual hawaiian touch. Elias Parker is just one of the many perks you’ll get for going with steve.
His pictures too were absolutely amazing! The lighting, framing, absolutely everything about each photograph was perfect! He also knew how to work with people who have very little experience posing in front of a camera (okay, yeah, I’m talking about me). He was very patient as I battled sand in a wedding dress and my hair blowing all over the place, while trying to hear his directions over the sound of the ocean waves as I awkwardly posed. Despite all of this the pictures turned out as if none of that was happening. He is a true professional who has a true talent for photography, planning weddings, and working with people.
If you decide not to go with steve young for your wedding you’re really making a big mistake. I can guarantee that if you chose steve your day will be as perfect as you could ever imagine it could be!
He has my highest recommendation and I am forever in his debt for making our day so very perfect.

Steve did the wedding for my husband and I on Ko’olina Beach, January 10, 2015. We’d been together for 16 years and Steve helped make our wedding day a great experience. Steve was warm and friendly and wonderfully sarcastic and funny. I’m not incredibly comfortable getting my picture taken, but he made me feel so comfortable and he got some really beautiful shots. The leis and flowers were perfect and Rev. Elias Parker’s ceremony struck so many chords with both of us. Great experience and I would recommend Steve for anyone who is getting married.

My wife and I married this past fall. I had a short window to plan everything and to complicate matters, my wife was overseas and I was far away from Hawaii. I needed to find someone who I could trust and help make the wedding ceremony we wanted come together. I called Steve after viewing his work on his website and I was glad I made the call.
From our initial conversation and throughout the entire process, Steve was accommodating and accessible. He listened and provided great insight for our location and other helpful tips. What I found particularly good was the simplicity of his pricing — there were no hidden fees or gotcha moments. Steve was up front about all aspects of the wedding package and I felt comfortable before the ceremony. I didn’t need to worry about anything else.
On our day, Steve and his crew were on time and were friendly and professional — even when there was a language barrier with some of the guests. Our minister was exceptional and our ukulele player was fantastic. Steve took many photos and was fun to work with by keeping the mood light for everyone involved. It was truly a memorable day.
We received our photos and videos within the time he discussed which was very reasonable. We were not disappointed with the results as his work was of really high quality. His service didn’t stop once we received everything. I had trouble with some of the files and Steve took the time to correct the issue in a timely manner, definitely going above and beyond what I expected.
Overall, my wife and I were truly happy with our ceremony and the photos were beautiful. Steve helped to make our special day very memorable. Thank you!

For our 10 year vow renewal, Steve came to my rescue when I got jilted by another planner. His sense of humor made everything so easy and far from stressful. He was always an email away.
Our day turned out perfectly with his help. The photos and video captured beautifully what my husband and I were feeling, complimented by the perfect backdrop of the location that Steve had picked out for us at Pūpukea beach.
Aside from the technical ability that Steve has in capturing strong images, what made him even more likeable was that he was thoughtful about everything. I had asked him to help me pull off a surprise for my hubby and he did, AND captured on film the moment that I had been hoping for. Then there was the lei he had picked out for me. It was a rare lei that doesn’t make itself available too often. A simple gesture that meant so much.
Steve was able to pull together all the elements that I had hoped for 10 years ago in my dream wedding and made them come true this time around. The minister and his words, the musician and his voice, and Steve with his ability to capture such precious moments.
Glad we did it all over again.

In response to Steve. Very in professional! Still a liar. He requires a payment from u b4 he does anything. I find it funny how he remembers the whole story and decides to change what he wants in it. This guy is full of sh**!Who takes 6 months for pics after your wedding! I was promised 3 – 4 weeks not months. don’t promise people what u can’t deliver! Besides he takes about an hour for everything on your wedding day. How busy can u be???

My husband and I got married Jul 2^nd, 2014. I can’t even describe how amazing of an experience we had with Steve and Minister Parker. They truly made our day beautiful, sacred and very special. The ceremony was so amazing although it was only the two of us. And the photos turned out better that I have ever expected. Steve made us feel very comfortable and the photography was a lot of fun. Overall, we had an unforgettable day that we will remember for the rest of our lives. God bless you both, Mr. Young for your wonderful talent, and Mr. Parker for your wise words that made our day the most beautiful day in our lives. This was truly a DREAM WEDDING. Steve is the best! He is SO helpful and an amazing photographer! Plus he was patient with my not so calm toddlers and grandma. He gives great recommendations, and useful tips! Hopefully we can go back soon just for more photos! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We’re from California and both have large families so a wedding here was nearly impossible so we decided to do a destination wedding in Hawaii. I found Steve and Dream Weddings Hawaii through an online search and after researching a bit I decided to book his services. From the first time I contacted Steve he was easy to work with and made me feel at ease about planning a wedding without ever having even been to the island. He provided recommendations for other service providers in the area such as hair and makeup, cake, etc which was great considering I had no one I knew that I could ask. I had set up with Steve for a photo and video package which I was able to customize to get the number of shots I wanted, as well as he provided a simple flower circle and guitar-​playing wedding singer at my request — all for a very reasonable fee. Steve also helped recommend the best location for the time of day we wanted. Having never been to Oahu myself I had nothing to go off of and had received a recommendation from a friend who used to live there. Steve kindly explained that although that beach was great it wouldn’t provide the sunset shots we were looking for and would be very windy. He recommended another location and showed me example photos of the same time of day we wanted which was perfect!
As you know once the wedding day starts approaching you kind of panic a bit about all the what-​ifs so I had asked to meet Steve prior to the wedding day just to be safe. He kindly agreed — he offered to meet me at my hotel so it would be easier for me which was great! He quickly set my mind at ease when he recalled all the details we had previously discussed. Honestly I was surprised because being in the service industry myself I know that once you start dealing with tons of people you start to confuse the details and forget things, but not Steve. :)
On the day of the wedding he and his team (Rev. Elias Parker and guitarist «sorry I don’t recall your name») were on time and ready to roll. He made sure to run us through what would be happening so we wouldn’t be confused with all that was going on. The ceremony was beautiful. I was surprised how much info the Reverend knew about us considering he and I had never spoken before, but I assume Steve shared our story with him, which was great. It made the ceremony more personal to us, not just the generic mumbo jumbo. The guitarist played a nice song as my dad walked my up (although it wasn’t the song I requested). That was the only draw back — I had requested a ukulele player originally and that he play «Somewhere Over the Rainbow» as my dad walked me up since that song has a special place in our hearts, but when we arrived it was a guitarist and no over the rainbow. That’s ok though because it was still beautiful and we were so caught up in the moment that it didn’t even matter.
Fast forward to after the ceremony — Steve started our photos. He was great about making sure to time the shots exactly right to catch the breaking waves in the background and was great at giving cues and telling us how to pose. He was very friendly and made us feel comfortable! Since the wedding was just a few days ago I haven’t received my photos or video yet, but I’m sure they won’t disappoint! Steve showed us a few of the shots on his camera before we left and talked about some of the ways he would edit them to adjust lighting, etc. I’m sure they’ll be wonderful! I highly recommend using Steve if you are like me and planning a destination wedding!

Steve and Elias were absolutely FANTASTIC. The wedding was perfect. Very easy process and the wedding was everything that we had dreamed of plus alot more. Currently waiting on our photos but the pictures that we have seen have been with out a doubt completely outstanding beautiful!!! My husband well we can say he is not best when it comes to getting any pictures taken, that being said I was floored by how well they had turned out! Way to go Steve!!! That was a huge mountain to climb in itself. But if you are considering doing a wedding in Hawaii dont waste your time anywhere else. GO TO DREAM WEDDINGS HAWAII and let Steve take care of all the rest…

The scenario: It’s less than 24 hours from your flight to Honolulu, when you think, «Hey, wouldn’t it be awesome if we eloped during this extended weekend business trip in Hawaii??» Crazy? Maybe. Impossible? Not with the prompt, helpful, and super friendly response from Steve of Dream Weddings Hawaii. Steve worked with our very limited time frame, set a great location, arranged for the minister, got our wedding leis, and photographed the before, during, and after. Only thing we needed to do when we touched down in Honolulu was hit up the Health Department for our marriage license, get ourselves dolled up (I had a little extra help from the amazing Dorys at Maleana), and wait for Steve to pick us up and escort us to our nuptials. Easy peasy!
If you are considering an elopement (or even a larger destination wedding) in Hawaii, I say call Steve and do it! My husband and I couldn’t be happier.

You can sit back for hours and watch Steven do his work and you quickly can tell he loves what he does. I can type 10,000 words or 100,000 words, it’d all still say the same story. Dream Weddings Hawaii should be the place you goto for your Hawaii Destination Wedding. But hey, his work speaks for itself.

Steve was extremely professional and made our Weddingmoon worth running away for. I am hoping he is still at it in 7 more years so that we may renew our vows with him and Elias. He took some amazing pictures that we will cherish forever and the ceremony was absolutely beautiful. Definitely a day to remember.
