I would have to say this is my favorite Subway. Its always very clean with almost no waits compared to the other Kailua Subways. What really impresses me about this location is how friendly the staff is, as soon as you walk in you are greeted with a very genuine«Hello» and a big smile… to be honest it catches me off guard haha! When the staff is making my sandwiches I never have to repeat myself or ask for a little more, they provide very generous amounts of toppings and are very attentive to detail. Other Subways should take note, this is how to do it right!

This has become our favorite Kailua Subway. The low rating from a previous poster seems to be fir a location other than this store. This Subway is next to Safeway, Ninja sushi and Papa Johns pizza. It is new, very clean and everyone there is super friendly. They seem to be a little more generous with their portions to the point that the office gals will go to this location even though it is farther away. While not the healthiest of choices Subway has helped me while dieting so I go here a little more than I probably should. The chopped salads are great as are the low fat sandwiches. My off the diet splurge is the pastrami sandwich which is surprisingly good, given it is Subway.

Not all too much to say, it’s just a regular Subway. I’ve never had any problems here though which is good and they’ve always made my sandwich correctly on top of being friendly.

So sad to see that the bakery around the corner was closed, and on top of that food company had a company outing so we were left with the choice of Subway or Mcdonalds that fateful Saturday morning. We opted for what seemed an easy subway sandwich but we were wrong. Tips: Don’t come here. Just dont. Location: Enchanted Lakes Shopping center is what I think this is called? Across from the shack Kailua, and mcdonalds, Safeway next to ben franklin. Parking: Lots, its a strip mall. Ambiance: Normal Subway, or so it seems! Service: Horrible. In short, they were rude, stiff, and make skimpy sandwiches. Long story: My husband went first and ordered his standard breakfast which was a steak egg and cheese on flat bread. To our knowledge(we go to subway quite often) egg can be ordered on ANY sandwich throughout the day. Nope not here. The little asian lady behind the counter told my husband no, the menu says«only egg and cheese no meat» so my husband replied«oh ok, can we add meat?» «No, no meat, only egg and cheese, cannot charge you for meat, will not put meat» and my husband shot a glare at me that said«wtf, can you handle this because I have no patience» So I smiled and asked the little lady«I understand the menu says egg and cheese, but can we do a steak sandwich and just add the egg?» Her husband(I assume) came from the back and said«no, menu says no meat, so no meat» Then he proceeded to help me where I explained the situation since I wanted the same thing. No success, I got steak but no meat. After haggling in front of me AFTER his sandwich was already made and ready to roll, the lady finally put 2 slices of egg on my husbands sandwich and rolled it up. I was irritated and asked for her to do the same but she and her husband refused. Finally I just said forget it and we paid for the two sandwiches… only to find out when we opened them(after paying so much attention to the fact we wanted eggs on our breakfast sandwiches) that these were the skimpiest, smallest subway sandwiches we have ever received. They were literally tiny, and had just the bare minimum of each ingredient. I guess this was our mistake since we should have paid closer attention to what they were doing instead of trying to get our way. The whole day I was so irritated by how strange this establishment was. I went on to tell my coworkers who live in Kailua about this subway and oddly enough, before I even started the story they said«AHDON’T EVERGOTOTHATSUBWAY!» And apologized for not warning me sooner. My coworker that lives just down the road will drive to another subway just because the service here is so bad. Not sure what they are doing here, but we will NEVER be back.

What can I say? It’s a Subway! Kailua town now has it’s 4th Subway. What makes it different from the rest? It’s shiny and new, and the service is great! Okay, so the service is great at some of the other Subway, but not all. This one has the young owner working hard and making sandwiches himself. Located near the Hamakua Safeway, between Verison and Ninja Sushi. There’s lot of free parking, and the service is fast. Give it a try!
