Segway of Hawaii-Kailua

Lisa was our tour guide and she was great. She provided lots of history and knowledge of the area. The day was absolutely gorgeous for a segway tour. Rick picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. He has a wealth of island knowledge and told us all the places we should eat and see before we left. I highly recommend Segway of Hawaii-​Kailua for a different perspective of Oahu!

Our family had a great time in Kailua. While here, we spent an afternoon on Segways. Richard and Lisa were awesome guides! They were sooooo patient and wonderful guides. Even 80 year old grandpa and grandma had a great time! Our kids had a blast and we ended up the trip with shave ice! Highly recommend them. Got to meet the owner too, Nancy. Everybody at the Segway rental place was so friendly and hospitable. Worth every penny!

Rick was a wonderful tour guide as he was so patient, helpful and entertaining. It was our 10 year old’s first time riding a Segway and he took right to it! It was a fun and wonderful way to explore Hawaii!

My friends and I had an awesome experience at Segway of Hawaii. Lisa, our guide, was amazing. One of our friends was struggling with learning how to operate the Segway and she took extra care in making sure we all were all properly trained and safe. My only complaint is that I wish the tour could have been longer!

We’ve done tours with this outfit twice. The first time was with Rick, which gave a great tour and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. The second time was not with Rick. Lesson learned: specifically ask for Rick! Not the same without him.

We tried the Segway tour for the first time. All of us (wife and 2 children — 17 and 9) had a fantastic time. The service was the best, and it is a must do in Hawaii. I recommend :)

Wow ! It was really fun. It was easier than I thought. Once you get use to how sensitive the Segway is you really begin to have fun. After 5 minutes of training (they give you 30 minutes of training) I really felt comfortable. Rick and his team were great. They really made it a experience and a friendship. This is the place to go if you want to see the private beaches, beautiful tide pools, private neighborhoods, and clear waters of Hawaii. They have a few different tours and we will be back again to try another one on our next trip. This is something you do not get to do everyday and it was fun for all teens to seniors. The Segway is a really cool device and it was so much fun. On this trip we used Jet Ski’s, ATV’s, Horses, and Para-​Sails. The Segway was the most fun of all. Aloha…

I don’t like to admit it, but I was a bit nervous about driving a segway. Lucky for me, Lisa, one of the tour guides, was so patient in her teaching and practice and clear with her instructions that I developed the confidence to leave the comfort of the parking lot. The segway tour was the first activity planned for my girlfriend’s nephews – first-​time visitors to Oahu – and it was a great way to get them familiar with the lay of the land and the warmth of the people. The boys had an amazing time learning about the area of Kailua – its history, beaches, plants and animals, and surrounding islands. Lisa was very knowledgeable, accommodating, and down-​to-​earth. As a local, I am proud of the hospitality shown. The staff was welcoming and warm. It was a great demonstration of aloha.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. I have been to a few Segway tours and this is the finest of them all. From the beginning to the end, the experience was top notch. All other Segway tours can learn from Rick and the staff here.
We got there a few minutes early to check in and was greeted by Rick, who was our tour guide, with great enthusiasm, He was very personal and kept us engaged throughout the tour. There was trivia on everything and a lot of history about Kailua thru out the tour. He took pictures and videos which could be purchase at the end of the tour, which is so worth it. We got off the Segway a few times to really explore the town and learn its history. When the tour ended, the staff gave us refreshments which was a very nice touch.
This tour made me fall in love with Kailua and I would love to stay here next time I hit Oahu. Rick is very passionate and it shows during the tour and his staff was amazing making sure our experience ended well.
A definite must do. It is worth the drive from Waikiki if u have a chance.

This is probably the best way to see the beaches of Kailua. It’s an unforgettable experience and our tour guide (Lisa) was amazing. We stopped and saw turtles, sea cucumber and of course the amazing beaches. I can’t say enough good things about this tour. You this is a must for anyone visiting Oahu.

I’ve been on 3 different Segway tours before this one, and this is by far da BESTEST Segway tour ever!!! Seriously! It’s obvious that Rick and Nancy (the owners) do not own and operate this business for profit, but do it for their love of sharing the Segway experience, and more importantly, their passion for sharing their knowledge of Hawai’i and its history. They also volunteer a lot around the community taking care of the ‘aina (land), and are awesome people that are very friendly and easy to talk to. Rick is also a real character! You won’t be bored or disappointed!
On our tour, there were 6 of my family members, including me, with 2 advanced riders (CA residents) and 4 newbies (local, HI residents). Rick and our other tour guide, Sarie, were awesome and patient teachers. They made sure everyone was comfortable riding, clearly communicated with us throughout the tour (Kailua town can get very busy), and constantly watched out for our safety. They were both fun, very informative at the various stops along our tour, and took a ton of photos (photo CDs available for purchase at an unbelievable low rate!).
If you’re looking for a Segway experience that you won’t forget, call Rick or Nancy! Avoid the Waikiki Segway tours and Waikiki’s congestion, you’ll love the Windward side of the island! NO Groupon or LivingSocial deals are needed either, you’ll definitely get your moneys worth!

For visitors, ask about transportation to/​from your hotel.

This was the best thing we have done in the two weeks that we have been on the island! Dick took us on a great tour on the segways, and gave out a lot of info about Oahu that we would never have learned had we not taken the tour. It was worth the time and money. If we come back, we definitely will do it again.

What a way to see Kailua! This was so much fun! We were able cruise around a beautiful neighborhood, check out some amazing beaches and we even were able to catch some para-​sailers landing. The tour guides took a ton of awesome pictures and put them all on a cd for us. This was one of the funnest activities we did while on the island.

These guys were awesome. This was one of my most favorite activites, not just because Segways are a lot of fun, but because the tour guides were great. They have a fun tour with some amazing views and sites. They were silly and fun the whole time. They were knowledgeable about the area. They take tons and tons of pictures of you the whole time too, and at the end they give you all of the pictures on a cd. When we finished our tour, they gave us snacks and drinks and we sat in their office area and watched a slideshow of all of the pictures of us. It was one of the best things i did while i was there. I joked with the guide that I wanted one of the pictures of me on his wall. He said if I came back to visit, it would be there :)

Had a great time with Rick and the other guys and gals working at Segway of Kailua. I would highly recommend this tour as a day activity for any small or medium sized group. The segways were a lot of fun to ride and Kailua is beautiful! Plus Rick is a blast and knows a lot of really cool things about the area.

My wife and I and 6 other friends visited Oahu this spring. We stayed in an amazing beach house just south of Kailua and we had and AWESOME time. The highlight of our trip was taking the Segway tour in Kailua! We’ve been to Hawaii an number of times and decided that this time we were going to do something different, and this tour hit the mark for sure!
At first we almost jokingly thought we would be such dorks riding around on Segway’s but it was super fun and we loved the awesome helmets we got to wear as well.
To start, we got a quick 10 min. training and by the end we were riding like pros. The Segway was super intuitive so no one felt awkward or unsafe. Within minutes we were zipping around the parking lot and tearing it up on the dirt paths on the tour.
Our guides took pictures of us along the way, and videos, and sent us home with a DVD with all those goodies on it so we could remember the tour. Along the tour we also stopped as several beach spots and they were AMAZING. We returned the next day to hang out on the beach and had a blast.
This is something that we loved and I would recommend it for sure. I’m guessing we’ll be back next time we visit Oahu!

This was an awesome tour. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating. They are patient teaching you how to use the segway and make sure that you are 100% comfortable before they take you out. My mom was really nervous about going on the segway, but by the middle of the tour she was a speedracer. The tour guide was very knowledgable and took us to some cool places. At the end of the tour we got to do some off-​roading through trees which was a blast. Get the DVD at the end with pictures and video. It is super cheap and well worth it. Definitely one of my highlights of the trip!
