I love this place. I was actually suuuuuper surprised on how affordable all the clothes is here because it seems like it’d be a pretty pricey boutique. They literally have everything. They have shorts, skirts, dresses (short, flowy, maxi, etc), shoes/​sandals, jewelry… and the girls there are super helpful. I hate when I go to a clothing store and don’t know if I should put the clothes away myself or give it to them after trying it on and they’re on it with the dressing room! Got me the sizes I needed, put things away I didn’t want. And even called another location for me because they didn’t have the size I wanted. Alex was extremely helpful and I will be shopping here more often.

Pretty (trendy) clothing in varying sizes unlike similar boutiques that only carry double the inventory in XS and Small sizes but that’s not the reason why this boutique earned a two star rating from me.
Upon entering the store I was not acknowledged and throughout my shopping experience no saleswomen attempted any interactions with me. There were four salesGiRLS who pretended to be working when in fact, Kaylin (the only salesperson who was working the floor and interacting with customers) was running circles around her co-​workers who were all at the cashier’s counter talking about what they were going to eat for lunch at Whole Foods (yea pretty much heard the entire conversation since they were pretty loud).
I was ready to check out and I stood in front of them (at the register) all ready to purchase my items all awhile waiting for them to finish up their personal group conversation. It was awkward and inappropriate for them to be putting their business ahead of company business. I’m disappointed that I wasn’t offered a Kama’aina discount for my purchases (since they were too busy talking amongst themselves) — it was pretty much a silent transaction and I didn’t realize that I was privy to those discounts until arriving home.
Staff (aside from Kaylin) were uninterested with sales and more concerned with each other and their activities. Too bad really, since I would’ve really liked to have spent more time in there buying up more stuff but who wants to dump money into a business when they care so little about customer service. I’ve DEFINITELY experienced better.

Only ONE of the 4 – 5 associates on the floor was kind and attentive. Her name was Kaylin, and she is literally the saving grace for my review. She continued to add pieces to my fitting room and help take unwanted pieces out as I was trying on. She entertained my mom and grandma as I tried on.
The other girls were not the kindest which was pretty unfortunate. At checkout, one associate with longer hair was trying to stuff the maxi dress I purchased into an extremely small bag. It was kinda sad to see something I just paid for being stuffed like a sausage into a bag made for jewelry. I asked her if that was the biggest bag thy had, and she proceeded to roll her eyes at me and pull out a bigger bag. Um, thanks. I work retail and know much than to be that ignorant. Not shopping here again. That last impression just struck too big a nerve with me.

While I like the clothes that they have, and have recommended others to check it out, I’m disappointed in how the staff treated a customer recently. Rather than showing positive customer service, they were unprofessional and rude with handling a simple question. I support local, but hearing a sales person telling a plus size woman she «won’t find anything her size here,» is extremely rude.

I have been here a couple times now and love it.
The sales girls are so nice and always greet me when I walk in, help me find what I’m looking for and exchange sizes for me.
Prices are reasonable, cheaper than some other boutiques I have been to on the island. Clothes are comfy and stylish. Jewelry is so adorable and reasonably priced as well.
I will definitely continue to keep shopping here.

I adore this shop. Great for tall ladies too. Very very lovely pieces. I’ve gone here multiple times for comfy dresses. Keep it up.

I absolutely LOVE the selection of clothes at Mahina. I’m definitely curvier, with a little more lovin’, but I’m never disappointed by the quality of clothes and the prices at Mahina. You truly get what you pay for. I love that they have a nice selection of more cotton-​based clothing, which is perfect for Hawaii’s weather. Many «trendy» stores nowadays are into synthetic fabrics, but I know how unforgiving and heat-​trapping those can be! Love Mahina — they’re always a first stop when I’m in Kailua or Haleiwa!

First time in this place and found beautiful clothes! However, the store allows dogs and one peed on the floor and the owner left it there. A small child slipped and sled! I wanted to try on some clothes and chose to wait because there was a man in front of the dressing room and the curtains don’t close well. I was approached by a sales girl who asked me if I wanted to start a dressing room, when I declined because if the above reason she sassily said that the man was waiting for his wife and proceeded to ignore me. I had money to spend on some new outfits but chose to leave. Please please clean up the store and attitudes! Dogs should not be allowed in and men should be given a place to sit? Just a thought and no more business from me. Too bad !

I enjoy shopping at Mahina. The sales associates greet me at the door every time. If I’m holding any items they make sure to set up a dressing room for me or put it on front counter. I like how everything is color coordinated. It’s a lot easier to shop this way. The price points are good compared to other stores.

I recently moved back home to Oahu. I was on the search for a clothing boutique that had cute, trendy and prices that was reasonable. I’ve finally found it! They have great quality clothes and something for everyone. The sales girls were attentive and awesome as they helped me find the «right» outfit. The customer service was what I was used to when I lived in California and that’s probably one of the main reasons why I’ll be back to shop here.

So I was not greeted when I first came in the store, which I think in any store/​shop a customer should ALWAYS be acknowledged upon arrival, but that’s my only con about this store. Other than that– this is a GREAT place to shop! It’s affordable and everything is so cute. I love that they have all sizes, not just a bunch of XS and SM’s. I will definitely come back here to shop !(: hopefully with a greeting next time lol

Mahina is one of my all time favorite boutiques. I always find myself spending way more than I planned because the clothes are good quality and cute.
However, my only complaint is that in my most recent trip, some other customers and I were COMPLETELY ignored by the two sales associates. My cousin and I were just in the store for a browse and they did not acknowledge our presence at all. When we entered there was no one walking around in the store. I overheard the two sales associates discussing a haircut one of the girls just had and they were both looking in the mirror behind the register. My cousin and I circled the store a few times and walked right in front of the register but never received any acknowledgement. There was also someone in the dressing room that the sales associates did not check in with because they were too busy on their cell phones.
In short the sales associates were not engaging, helpful, or attentive at all. They stayed behind the counter and did not greet any of the customers that entered. If I see those girls working I probably won’t be entering the store and will wait until there are different sales associates.

So you knew this was coming right? My name is Mahina, this store name is Mahina… it’s like it was destined that I had to write a review about this place. So first there is 2 locations. Both in the heart of tourist-​ville Kailua & Waikiki. I’m a fan of both, but not a fan of crowds so I like this location a lot more than Waikiki. I love boutiques & i love sales and this place supplies me with just that. I love that there is always something on sale or a sale rack in the back with things in my size. I also love that most clothing i found were very comfortable. Handbags, jewelry, shoes. This place definitely has everything im looking for, for a night out on the town, or turn down with my girls.

Adorable, affordable & awwwwesome staff! Every time I enter this store, I get a hello. While I’m shopping around, they’ll ask if I would like to start a fitting room (yay more opportunity to grab more stuff to try on!) plus, the store is always organized which I appreciate.
Best yet, story of an experience: My bf bought me 2 dresses as a surprise present for our anniversary. He knows how much I love Mahina, so he ventured out there & bout 2 tops thinking they were dresses. Let me make a side note: he quickly learned that difficulties us women have in picking out clothes with all the different styles and fits :) he will never complain when I take an hour to decide which outfit to wear! Needless to say, the two pieces of clothing were not my style of size. I wasnt upset because i knew i could go back to Mahina & would find something I’d love!
I went to Mahina to return them, and forgot the receipt at home. The nice lady working recognized the 2 dresses I was returning and said, «oh your boyfriend was here the other day. He was so funny, it was a good attempt. We chatted a but about his experience, got some laughs in, then I explained wanting to return them yet I had no receipt. She was so accommodating, she allowed me to return the dresses/​tops without receipts & also placed my name & store credit in the computer so I wouldn’t have to worry about remembering to bring any paper trail ever again! Yay! Now that’s what I call customer service!
Clothing: something for everyone! Honestly, different styles, colors, sizes! They have cute/​sexy heels plus a variety of accessories! Great little boutique in kailua!

Great place to pick up some really cute clothes. They have a great selection of tops, pants, shorts and dresses that are perfect for the island lifestyle!
They also have a nice selection of handbags, jewelry, scarves and shoes.
The sales associates are very friendly and incredibly helpful.
Every Friday they get a new shipment in, so this store always has new inventory to choose from.
If you haven’t been into Mahina, you’re missing out!

Cute shop located in Kailua town. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The young lady working offered to carry my daughter if I wanted to try on clothes (very sweet). Nice dresses and other comfy little outfits. Bought tons of maxi dresses for my burgeoning belly, worked great as maternity dresses! Enjoy the kama’aina discount — management must be reading reviews, cashier asked me BEFORE ringing me up and reminded me that I could get a discount. LOVE their reuseable shop tote. I’ll definitely be back again. SHOP LOCAL!!!

Have been in there several times; staff have always ignored me, too busy socializing among themselves, so after this consistent treatment I felt like I had to say something! It would be nice if they would check in with you, especially in the dressing room.
I agree, you shouldn’t have to ask for the kamaina discount, especially if you’re a regular.
Some of the clothes are very cute; Others are pricy for the quality– Forever 21 in Kailua. I think a lot of it is purchased in the LA garment district for peanuts.
Suggestions: improve your customer service and make your policies customer friendly. Sorry, but if I’m buying a gift for someone, a 2 week return policy is just not reasonable or realistic. 30 days is. Isn’t it worth it to have repeat business and loyal, happy clientele?
2 stars for poor customer service and policies. Please train your staff better, so they’ll at least act like they care!

Located in Kailua in a mini strip mall lies a cute boutique fill with cutsie women clothing from semi-​business to a Sunday brunch dress.
They have reasonably priced clothing and accessories for the fashionable girl (or cross dresser). Staff is friendly! Shop is neatly organized and clean.
Make sure to read up on the return policy. But that goes for anywhere you go. And ask about the Kamaaina discount.

I have found my new favorite boutique in Kailua. It might just be one of my top favorites, actually. The store recently opened last week and I just about love everything in there.
Whats great is that these clothes don’t look cheaply made, and they are set at a good and fair price. There was some stuff that I looked at and thought, «really? only that much?» It averages around $ 20 – 50 for their clothes. They also have the cutest belts, purses and jewelry.
There’s a good amount of dressing rooms for the size of this boutique. It was PACKED when I went… which only means they are the real deal and worth checking out!
You can find a few «going out» pieces, but theres very few. Thats not really the style of this kailua location. A lot of their clothes have a beach feel, organic and feminine, floral-​y inspiration. A lot of solid colors too! You’ll see that sundress make up a large part of the clothing selection. But don’t worry, there’s active wear like yoga pants and shorts! =]
My favorite part is that they only use those recycled bags to put your purchase in, and not plastic. Kama’aina gets 10% with purchases. I’m not sure about military or student discount, but just ask and I’m sure they will tell you!
