Fletch Photography

There really are no words to explain how talented, professional, and all around awesome Josh & Miho are but because I feel so strongly that they are worth every single cent you’ll spend to work with them I wanted to share my experience in hopes that it will help soon to be brides check another (hugely important vendor) off their list.
When selecting the various vendors for our wedding day the top three things I looked for were cost versus value (i.e. do I feel like we’d be getting our money’s worth), level of communication and timeliness of follow up, and style (does execution of the service and finished product that the vendor provides match the look and feel of what we wanted from our wedding day). Without a doubt, Fletch Photography nailed all 3.
It felt like I either cyber stalked or actually reached out to every wedding photographer on the Big Island. I found that, for the most part everyone (more specifically everyone that is well reviewed) has similar pricing for for the photography packages offered. This definitely did not help in deciding on a photographer but at minimum is safe to say that Fletch’s pricing is on par with equally talented photographers. Cost vs value– check.
From Miho’s initial response to my first email I could tell that communication wouldn’t be a problem. The turnaround time for response to numerous emails was never more than a day or two and the tone of each was always warm and friendly. Aside from the pre-​wedding emails, the level of day of and post wedding communication was clear and consistent. On my wedding day I never felt like I had to explain or clarify anything with either Josh or Miho. I felt like they just «got» us and were able to read and anticipate those picture perfect moments. Their non-​verbal communication is on point as well– they were comfortable, relaxed, and unobtrusive. They put everyone around them at ease and it allowed for natural looking (as opposed to staged) photos. Communication– check.
Go to Fletch Photography’s website and check out their work. Seriously, I can’t even elaborate on style because for us, theirs was so completely perfect and really, it speaks for itself. Style– CHECK!
In short, I would HIGHLY recommend Fletch Photograph to anyone and everyone– not only are Josh & Miho professional, talented, and so clearly well reviewed, they are pretty much the nicest damn people you’ll ever get the privilege of working with!

Josh & his wife Miho are absolute wonderful photographers and even better people, which makes working them incredibly enjoyable. Fortunately, Nina and I had the opportunity to fly to the Big Island 4 months prior to our wedding to interview 3 photographers, which made our decision a no brainer. Both Josh & Miho are very outgoing and laid back yet professional individuals meaning they’re always open to change and suggestions while producing a phenomenal product. At the wedding, they blended in with the crowd VERY well so never felt intrusive or forced, yet the pictures show they were around us and our guests the entire time. Oh My. Josh was our photographer at our June 17, 2015 wedding at Kukio Beach, Hawaii. When we were looking through our wedding planners suggested photographers, Fletch Photography was our number one choice from the beginning. We loved their style, they seemed so clean and classic, and it was exactly what we were looking for. Working with Josh was even better than I had hoped. He was nice, professional, and really listened to the few ideas that I had. My husband and I had never taken professional pictures together, and Josh made us feel at ease, and really showed our relationship in the photos he took. I had heard before that taking pictures would be awkward because of all of the weird poses the photographer would have you do, but he was not like that at all! He just let us enjoy each other, and he captured the moments. I would recommend them time and time again!

Long overdue amazing 5 star review for Fletch Photography! Josh was our photographer for our May 2^nd, 2015 wedding at the Sheraton in Kona on the Big Island and everything was more than perfect. He was so warm and friendly and my entire family loved him right off the bat. Josh has such a talent for catching perfect candid moments with perfect lighting. We took photos at the wedding site, on the lava rocks overlooking the ocean, in the chapel, all over the resort! I would not change one thing about my wedding day and photos. I would recommend Fletch Photography to any and every engaged couple looking for a photographer on the Big Island.

I can’t rave enough about Fletch Photography. Josh and Miho are such a lovely pair and our wedding photos came out more beautiful than I could have imagined! Not only did they work on getting every single photo we requested, but they produced such an amazing work product — from the most perfect pictures to even the wrapping of their finished products — you can tell they really care about what they do and are invested in their clients. They are also very professional and were a pleasure to work with (particularly as a bride planning from all the way across the United States). You will not regret it for a moment if you book them for your wedding!

Where do I begin? Josh & Miho were great. Our wedding was very spontaneous. I contacted Josh via phone about 2 weeks before we flew to the Big Island and he was very welcoming over the phone. I told Josh how much we could afford and he told me what he would do and I agreed. Of course we checked out their work before we had contacted them and boy, did we like their work. I didn’t get a physical confirmation (text, email, etc.) but he told me he put us down on THE calendar. When you look for an artist, you can see how they like to shoot, you can see what their artwork is like so when Josh said he could booked us on his calendar, we were ecstatic. We contacted each other the day before and on the big day to sort out all the details like location and time. Josh and Miho arrived right on time. We started the ceremony and it went by just like that. We left it up for Josh to tell us what to do during the shoot. He showed us one of the images and that’s all we needed for confirmation. They were very easy to work with. We shot over what we’d paid for and they were fine with it. I guess it’s all in the moment. It took about two months to get the pictures but we understood how busy they could be. We read the FAQ on their website. We’re aware and prepared for the two months, lol. We love their work and we personally recommend THEM. If you love their artwork, please contact them. Wedding pictures are memories that will last forever and we wanted nice ones. You get what you pay for so pay up! Or you can go with the cheap dude with the dark and under-​exposed emo artwork for half price.

This review is long overdue! I was married in Kona back in May and Fletch Photography took my wedding photos. Josh and Miho were perfect. They clearly have a passion for what they do and my beautiful wedding photos show it! It’s so hard to decide who to hire when you are thousands of miles away but I am so happy I chose Fletch Photography!

My review is going to sound similar to all the rest, but I can’t help it – Fletch Photography is AMAZING.
I planned my wedding at the Hilton Waikoloa Village in Hawaii a year and a half in advance. The first thing I looked into after booking the location was a photographer. On the top of the recommended vendors list my wedding planner gave me was Fletch Photography. I looked at their website and Facebook page and didn’t need to look any further – I knew they were the ones!
Josh and Miho scheduled me in 2013, over a year before the wedding date. I checked in with them closer to our wedding just to make sure everything was still scheduled. Of course it was! They were responsive in their emails to me, and I couldn’t wait to meet them.
Long story short, Josh and Miho far exceeded our expectations in every way. First, Miho helped me with my dress and went above and beyond her photography «duties.» She was more like a friend than just a photographer! Josh, too, was funny and genuinely nice to be around. During our ceremony, my husband and I never saw them! Josh and Miho somehow captured our day without being obtuse.
Finally…the pictures. WOW. Just wow. 1) They captured every little detail. I mean EVERY. little. detail. They took pictures I didn’t even realize they were taking! Josh and Miho made my husband I feel very comfortable. In fact, my husband and I were caught up in the moment so much that quite a few of the pictures Josh and Miho captured were candid, natural, and really intimate moments. 2) The pictures are outstanding – the way Josh and Miho manipulated the lighting of the sunset behind us, etc. blew my mind! The editing, attention to detail, and sheer creativity of their photos are beautiful. 3) The pictures told a story. From start to finish, a person who wasn’t at our wedding could definitely feel like they saw the whole ceremony, just by flipping through the photos!
If you’re in Hawaii, go with Fletch Photography. Period. There’s just no other choice in my mind! Josh and Miho are sheer perfection.

I dont know where to start, we receiver our photo gallery link last night and I am speechless. I cant believe how AMAZING everything looks!!! I cant believe thats actually my wedding! These two are such an amazing team to work with. It was easy, I didnt have to manage them, they got my entire shot list and more! Everything just looks like a dream! I cant say enough great things about them.
We had our wedding in the water, so as soon as I saw their website, I KNEW they were the photographers for us.
They were very accommodating, as we changed the time of our reception a few times, which was very appreciated.

They are really sensitive to what makes everyone comfortable, leading to really great natural photos. Their photos are beautiful — they speak for themselves. Absolutely no hesitation recommending them.

Josh and Miho were so great to work with! They photographed our family in Waimea and we had a blast. They were great with the kids and we love our photos.

Josh and Miho are truly talented photographers and wonderful people to be around. I hired them to do a family portrait session while on vacation on the Big Island and could not be more pleased with the results. You will absolutely not regret using Fletch Photography for any occasion.

If you want your wedding photos to be fascinating, uncommon, awesome and just WOW — Fletch photography is the right choice!
It was a great pleasure working with Josh&Miho from the beginning to the end.
Before the wedding they took time to understand what kind of wedding pictures I need and I like. After this was done, we exchange contacts and made a contract, which was very clear about everything. The communication with them before the wedding was great and I was more than sure that I have nothing to worry about them showing up in time or etc.
At the wedding day there were fantastic, just two professionals doing there job, setting up the positive mood, suggesting photo positions and catching all the important moments and details.
When I saw our wedding pictures the first time I stared at them for a while before I could say anything– they were just amazing! We could not believe how well and beautiful they have expressed the wedding mood on the photos. The most common comment from my friends and family was: «Your wedding photos look like a dream or a fairy tale» :):).

YOU WILL LOVE FLETCH PHOTOGRAPHY!!! I first met Josh and Miho for my wedding photos — the photos were gorgeous! Over the past few years I then have had the pleasure of working with them on several occasions (weddings, corporate events, and portraits) and always was confident in their professionalism, fun and friendly demeanor and most significantly the beautiful and creative photography. Josh and Miho work so well together in capturing the spirit, personality and feeling of your event. They make the experience so fun and comfortable whether its an hour or an all day session. Their photos are fabulous — really capturing the feeling rather than just pictures and the use of light and color is great. Pictures are edited and timely and they are quick to respond, send updates and make sure you are completely thrilled with the full experience. When my family left Hawaii recently I knew I had to have Fletch Photography capture family photos of the town and area where my husband was born and raised, and where we met and started our family — we just got the proofs (in only a few weeks) and they are better than I hoped they would be! They not only caputured my family in some great ways (including my 1 year olds entertaining personality) but they also got the feelings of our town and the valley near our home. Fletch photography was referred from one of my friends that is a chef at four seasons. My fiancée loves to take photos so I thought I surprise her and hire a professional photographer to capture the moment when I pop the big question. Josh was always very quick to respond with any questions I had and you could tell he genuinely loves what he does. I waited a couple of days for editing and my fiancée loved the pics that he captured. Will definitely recommend anyone to use him and if we get married on the big island we will be calling josh for another great shoot.

My husband and I decided to elope on the Big Island and I had to do all the planning from the mainland. I had NO IDEA who to use for a photographer and we could not be more pleased with Josh and Miho Fletcher. The most important thing is the photos — and they were amazing. But the rest is 5 stars too. They were early — they recommended the location (A-​Bay), the musican (which we didn’t use) the time of day… everything. we got married in July which is the busy season for weddings in Hawaii — they told us we should have our pictures in 6 weeks and we got them in 5 ½ weeks. I have friends that waited almost 12 months to get photos! I can not say enough great things about this couple.
