Perfect girlfriend get away for a night or two. Now named the Painted Porch. The location is steps from shopping and dining. We rented the Main House that has four bedrooms and three baths. The beds were comfortable and no one had to share! Full of antiques and lots of original décor touches. It was definitely a flashback into the late 1800’s when the house was built and Julian was a thriving mining town. We had a wonderful time gathering in the living room talking and enjoying our time together. Linda, the owner was delightful.

Stayed in Ruby’s Parlor. Claw foot tub, but no liquid soap to have a bubble bath. The turn of the century style is very cool. It is a bit musty as old houses usually are but overall its a romantic suite with living room, fire place and bedroom with old iron bed. big front porch, good prices

i stayed in the play house. it was very nice. i was disappointed in a few things. the bed felt like it was as old as the house and the pillows were flat. when i got in the bed it folded like a taco. i slept like crap. woke up with a stiff neck that i still have a few weeks later. i thought the muffins were locally made. they were costco as well as the coffee

The husband and I have stayed here a few times now, every time we have ended up in Ed’s Playhouse, which we love. The«house» is divided into several distinctly different rooms, which are kinda more like cabins. The owners are a very sweet couple, and they keep the place up nicely. It’s a rustic yet romantic feel, there are wine glasses and an opener, coffee/tea and muffins for the morning. The location is perfect, right in the middle of town but up a little hill away from any street noise.

This is a super romantic place to stay in Julian. It is really close to the main street and they have a claw-foot tub. Minus one star because the bed was really small, wobbly, and uncomfortable. But it was still worth it.
