Spacious and cozy home located in the heart of Joshua Tree Village just minutes away from the Joshua Tree National Park West Entrance Station. A quick ½ mile drive or short walk and you’re in the middle of Joshua Tree’s small downtown of shops, eateries and galleries.

The main house sleeps 6 in two bedrooms with queen beds and a queen daybed that converts to a bed. There are two full bathrooms in the main house.

For an additional fee the property also has a 270 sq. ft. detached studio with high ceilings that sleeps 4 more people on a queen bed and a comfortable latex mattress sofa bed. The studio has it’s own private bathroom with shower. Also coffee maker and small fridge. Please ask me about it when you book if you would like the extra accommodation. $ 70/​night for two day bookings or $ 60/​night for bookings of three days or more.

I recently stayed at this perfect getaway with my two daughters. The open layout, hand picked retro décor, fireplaces, comfortable outdoor spaces and wonderful kitchen made it easy to relax and enjoy ourselves. Not to mention the wifi so we didn’t have to talk to each other too much. I’ve been to Joshua Tree quite a bit in the past 6 months and have to say this spot is quite a find.
The location is close to downtown for morning walks. And off the road enough to view the breathtaking sunsets and the starry sky at night. I love the juxtaposition of the stark desert and the mid century style of this pad.
Thomas is a great host, he thinks of everything! I’m going back in April.

I only spent one night in this beautiful house and wished I could stay for many more! The vibe of the house is eclectic and cool and I enjoyed every minute of my brief stay. The house is clean and comfortable with creative lighting and artistic features. The ambience was fantastic and I would love to come back and stay again (only much longer next time!). Thomas, I loved your house!

Mountain Vista is my favorite desert retreat.
Away from the glossiness of Palm Springs, Joshua Tree is the perfect place to rest or hike — clear your head.
MV has a great retro feel with everything you need — and nothing that you don’t. It’s spacious but intimate — indoor and outdoor fire places to set the mood.
We had the pleasure of visiting with a baby grey dove out in the back sitting area, and watching the gorgeous sunsets from the front patio while sipping drinks and telling soulful stories… It’s that kind of place.
Thomas is a wonderful host — going back in May.

If I ever own a house, I want it to look like the Mountain Vista Desert Retreat. Big windows, funky décor and plenty of room to sleep and socialize.
We chose to stay here because of the proximity to downtown. It’s close enough to walk and just far enough to enjoy the views of the valley. It’s a great location.
Special thanks to Thomas for housing us during our perfect weekend in Joshua Tree. It was a fantastic experience. We will be back!

Loved the time I spent in your rental, peaceful and clean with no hassles.
Your place was worth the drive and the town was a welcome change from the rat race here in LA, great hiking and fun foods in town were just the tip of the iceberg.

I recently stayed at Thomas’ Mountain Vista Retreat with my hubby for a weekend, and we really had a great time. Rooms were clean, bright, colorful. I LOVED the kitchen and the livingroom area the best. Thomas, the owner, was a welcoming, very accomodating/​friendly host. The price was very reasonable and definitely a great value for what you are getting! In summary: This retreat home is a great place to stay and use as a «home-​base» for exploring the area and its natural beauty. We will definitely go back there again! :)
