We LOVED our stay here. Booked via airbnb, instructions and driving directions were clear, and the host was super friendly when I called about checking in. Everything is thought out from the instructions about composting, the citronella candle out front, guides to walking to town, etc. Bed was comfortable. We didn’t end up finding the petroglyphs, though we did take a nice hike to the nearby boulders. The entire place can feel slightly overwhelming at night because the night sky is just simply stunning. We had two great nights of sitting in the backyard and the front porch staring at the sky while sipping wine. We heard coyotes on the first night too. Didn’t hear any neighbors or owners in the connected house, so it felt super secluded to us.

Blissfully situated at the edge of a National Park and with no neighbors to block your view, this was an awesome location for our nature seeking needs. Pros: –A wonderful patio and courtyard for stargazing and barbecuing –The kitchenette is equipped with a good supply of cooking basics and basic kitchen supplies –The owner will give you all the information you need about the surrounding areas and there is a great supply of menus and flyers in the room from the area, including information about the park. Cons: –Its not completely private. It is mostly private(75⁄25?) but it is connected to the owners house and you get reminded of this occasionally hearing conversations or noises at night from that side. –After an ant issue(heat wave) the owner asked to come in one day which we agreed to, but on our last day we came home and found him coming out, which was not agreed upon. I kind of get it but you should always give a heads up. –The bed is not a mattress and box-spring combo but it is on wheels and springs which can make awful noise and is not very comfortable Summary; Beautiful location with great star viewing, Basic necessities covered in the studio, wish it were completely private with a different bed. Depending on the rate when we want to go we would be pretty likely to look in to staying again.

I recently stayed here with my boyfriend and our dogs for the weekend and had such a lovely time. The studio was so clean and very thoughtfully prepared for guests. JB(the owner) was so courteous and sweet. He prepared a map of wonderful destinations to be reached on foot from the studio and gave us such privacy during the entire weekend. It’s incredibly quiet without neighbors for almost a half mile away, but only a fifteen minute walk into town. At night you can see every star in the sky and the breathtaking piled-up rock mountains are footsteps from your front door. I have two dogs – a pitbull and a poodle-mix – both who love to explore the outdoors and they loved every second of it. Ordinarily, we have a hard time finding a place that accepts dogs with open arms. It was such an added luxury to have them there. I highly recommend this place for couples or friends who want to relax and get away from the city’s mania for a little. You can bring groceries and cook! There’s also a really fun little backyard area with a fire pit to use and hang out by at night. The value for the money was totally worth it. It’s a really special place. We’re definitely going back again.
