History
Established in 1911.
Pint opened way back in 1911. No, it wasn’t called Pint then. It’s had quite a few names in more than a century.
Local historians tell us Frank Hague, Jersey City’s notorious mayor, ran the place during Prohibition.
From the late 70s until the early 2000s, Pint was «El Gato Negro» — a tough neighborhood bar with a reputation for brawls and beer.
The brawling is gone, but the beer is our specialty. Come check out more than 50 American craft beers served in a barroom that has played host to Jersey City for more than a century!
