Really, really good chocolate. The rose truffle is my favorite. Often buy it as a gift when visiting friends and family. Is always a hit.

Good chocolate but bad service… I bought a box of chocolate and the lady didn’t even want to give me a bag. No smile & all attitude… Not sure if this is a health violation but she used her bare hands to pick up the chocolate. I should have taken a picture.

Five stars only for the chef/owner and his products. The chef is very kind and professional. The tiramisu here is mind-blowing. Even though I didn’t have a good experience with the lady behind the counter on Friday evening, I will still go back for the desserts.

Thank you for sorting out the issue with my cake by giving us free tiramisu’s. They were awesome.

EXCELLENT chocolate quality. Easily bets the chocolates of La Maison du Chocolate(which I previously felt had the best chocolate in the world). I was greeted by the grouchy older lady everyone was talking about in the earlier reviews and had to laugh. She wasn’t too bad, I was the only person in the shop yet she kept on asking me if I was done — LOL. I finally asked her what the rush was and she calmed down. It was cool to see Eric Girerd in the kitchen area creating his confections. Anyways to the chocolates; I got a chocolate croissant, some beautifully decorated individual chocolate pieces, a lava bun, and a piece of ganache cake. I’ve tried everything except for the cake and it’s all been delicious! The croissant was on the small side but of good quality. A great place to pick up a gift for anyone who likes chocolates. You can order birthday cakes with 48 hours notice. However this shop is too decadent to visit often even for a chocoholic like me.

When you need a gift or to treat yourself, get an assortment of the truffles. Artistic culinary decadence

Stopped by when it was windy and wanted to get some hot chocolate. I definitely recommend their hot chocolate especially the sweet worker who made it. I would say it does take some time to cool down but thats perfect if you’re walking around when it’s a bit chilly. Would love to try their chocolates next time.

I was super excited to visit this place so close to home after seeing the reviews but after going, i was dissappointed at the service. The lady behind the counter is not very friendly. For that reason, I wouldn’t visit again even though the product is fairly good.

Awesome place, the chocolates are delicious. White chocolate yummy, no words to describe the lava cake, chocolate Ganache was a little too sweet but delicious too! The reason of my 4 stars is because the person who helped me out was super rude, didn’t get her name but she was Asian. Was exteeeemely rude, she asked me if I was done already. I was getting 3 ganaches for three different people for valentine’s day so needed three boxes and got upset for it. Then I asked for some red ribbon to make a bow(I was going to do it) she questioned me why? I told her it was a valentine’s gift for three different people. And if I would ask her something she would get upset and say she didn’t know. The owner was there but in the kitchen and didn’t see or heard anything he was extremely friendly and professional! Would definitely go back just because the chocolate is so good! The owner needs to control the staff’s attitude for sure!

Great high quality chocolate. I generally get the 70% cocoa bar, and chocolate boxes as gifts for my friends who are foodies. My family visits that store weekly. I had the chocolate dipped figs(original) and chocolate lava cake both of which were phenomenal. The lava cake was not too sweet and just right! The croissants are the best in the hood. So happy to see such high quality treats in my neighborhood.

Master Chocolatier Eric G is exceptional! I requested him to custom make a special kind of treat for my husband’s birthday! He heard me so patiently n humbly, at the same time tried to understand every detail of what I wanted. As turns out, he left me and my husband totally speechless of his chocolate craft! The orange flavour that I requested came out really well with his combinations of variety chocolates! To add, the cake was beautifully crafted with some Macaroons, orange nibbles and white chocolate pieces! They also has some very interesting flavours of hand crafted chocolates! It’s a must visit for any person who loves desserts and chocolates! They’d really miss something if they don’t taste the chocolate crafting skills of this man!

One of the best iced coffees in the area! LOVE! Also all the yummy treats they have are so amazing! Best meringues I’ve ever had and they make a great chocolate croissant. Their dark chocolate pieces are very intricate and adorable, haven’t tried any yet though but their salted caramel truffle is amazing!

Review of Custom Birthday Cake Good: I have been in love with this place since I visited it the first time. I haven’t had a chance to try the truffles which seem to be the bestsellers but the desserts are rich and decadent. Nami, the sweet lady who manages the store is a pleasure to work with. I requested a custom cake and she recommended the German chocolate cake. Of course since the chef is known for his awesome chocolate confections, I confidently placed the order for the cake for 6 people(smallest size of the cake that can be ordered). Nami was very accommodating and even called me the day of pickup saying the cake was ready. I had arranged for a pickup and she had no issues someone else picking up the cake on my behalf. She also informed me that the chef made an 8 person cake instead of 6 person and that I would not be charged for the difference, which was really nice of the chef. The Cake: the cake was masterfully decorated with a top layer of white chocolate slate with happy birthday inscribed. This was a dark chocolate cake with the sides decorated with dark chocolate French macaroons. I was expecting coconut in the cake but there was none. Instead there was a layer of decadent dark chocolate sauce and another layer of some mango/peach jam, which complimented the dark chocolate well. Bad: the cake even though masterfully prepared and looked perfection was a tad dry, despite having a layer of chocolate sauce and another one of the jam. But if you are a fan of dark chocolate get this cake! Ugly: None Verdict: I would definitely go back to order other cakes and try their other deserts. Nami makes the whole experience at this store absolutely fantastic. So look no further for getting your chocolate and dessert fix.

The owner/chef came out and was very friendly and hands on. Chocolates are amazing but for me I love, love, love the pastries. They are perfectly made, smooth, delicious and for the price, pretty cheap considering this is artisinal. I get them for birthday gifts and other special occasions!

Came across this place as I was walking around Jersey City and decided I wanted a coffee. Came in and ordered a Cappuccino and an almond chocolate croissant. Both were outstanding. The croissant was really delicious. The lady who was running the place gave us a little run down on how they were made. I’ll come back for sure.

What a nice addition to Jersey City. I came in a few hours before their grand opening celebration. The shop is small with a kitchen area off to the side. Nice selection of handcrafted chocolates. The chipotle and balsamic were great. They also have coffee and a small selection of pastry. Chef Eric was on site was very appreciative that we stopped in.

I am so happy that this place has come to JC. The chocolates are very beautiful and delicious. I was very surprise to see that they are also baking desserts. I one of their desserts — the round chocolate one — and it blew my mind how very well balance all the chocolate components are.

If you’re a fan of artisanal chocolates and desserts, you are in luck because a new chocolate shop just opened in Jersey City! Chef Eric Girerd was announced one of the top ten best chocolatiers in North America for 2014⁄2015 by Dessert Professional Magazine. 1) They have a wide variety of chocolates and desserts. Some are your common flavors like caramel and hazelnut, but some are more adventurous like the wasabi and balsamic vinegar. They also sell truffles, other desserts(like chocolate bark and small cakes), coffee, tea, and packaged gift sets of various treats. There’s no seating though, so it’s all to-go. 2) The prices are comparable to artisanal chocolate shops in NYC. Each chocolate square(a little less than 1“X1″) is $ 2. It’s about the same or maybe a little less than other places in NYC, but more than your average everyday chocolates you would get at any store. 3) It’s conveniently located on Marin Blvd. by the Grove St. PATH(down the street from the Newport Mall and Shoprite). No parking, however, and it’s a very busy street so I wouldn’t recommend pulling over even for a few minutes. It would be better to find a spot or pull over on one of the side streets nearby instead to prevent traffic or accidents. 4) The people are SOOOOO friendly and helpful! They answered all my questions, gave me recommendations on what to order and even in what order to eat my chocolates. And the chef was there in the back and waved as we left. On the right side of the shop, you can see the kitchen and even watch the chef as he makes one of his creations. It’s very unique and interesting to be able to see into his workspace and artistic process. Very nice shop, and will be back again!
