I must say the chicken fried rice has to be the best I’ve ever had. I loved the fact you could get several different flavors of saki. Very happy with this place. My only complaint was the restaurant is very dark. When all the tables have to use cell phones to read the menu, I think that would be an indication to turn the lights up just a tad!

Good food, but a little too pricey at dinner for some items. As long as you’re willing to spend the money, you’re not going to be disappointed in the food. No issues with the service or parking, just the price.

It’s not the worst, but in a city like Dallas you def have better options. The atmosphere is either depressing or low key, depending on how you see it, with poor lighting and old carpets. The food was nothing special — the yakisoba was basically all soy sauce+ noodles, though the shrimp was fresh. But what was the worst part was the initial service we received when one of the waitstaff sat us at a Hibachi table. We were a party of 5 and there was initially some confusion whether we were going to do hibachi or not. We were definitely a little annoying as we were trying to decide, but this man did not even try to hide his annoyance. He kept rolling his eyes at us and even at one point walked away dragging his legs, as if we were such a burden on him. I understand his frustration, but thought it was very unprofessional the way he acted. On top of everything, this was a birthday dinner!

I had a dinner there once. The service was good(although i was asked if i am Japanese when we walked in, kinda odd). But i cannot recommend this place for the price of the food. Keep in mind that i did not go on the hibachi side of the restaurant and only had sushi(not sashimi). Not sure if i would’ve had different experience if i went to the other side. But if you are coming to this place just for sushi, i can only say it’s mediocre and I’ve definitely had better for cheaper.

I’ve been here several times and I really enjoy it. Great for a low key(but good quality) teppenyaki/hibachi meal and a few sake bombs, haha. We always walk right in and have never had to wait even for five minutes. The service is always quick and to the point. The prices are reasonable and the food is good quality. I always get the Tokyo Trio(which is Filet mignon, lemon garlic shrimp, and chicken) along with fried rice. It also comes with the usual soup and salad with ginger dressing before the main meal. Love the ginger dressing here. I’ve had the sushi a few times and haven’t been overly impressed with it, I don’t order it any more. I’m not a huge sushi fan as it is, so maybe it’s me. Highly recommend the cold Nigori sake with a large Sapporo beer to balance it out. My girlfriend and I always split one of each. The Nigori is really sweet and smooth which works really well with the bitterness of the Sapporo. DON’T FORGET to ask for the yum yum sauce with your meal! for some reason they don’t offer this with the other sauces and it’s BYFAR my favorite sauce they have. It literally makes the entire meal. Here’s my overall ratings– Atmosphere– 3.5÷5 Food– 4⁄5 Quality/value– 4⁄5 Drinks– 4⁄5 Service– 3.5÷5

Came here with some friends who lived near by. I ordered a mojito, couple of rolls of sushi, quail eggs, edamame, some mackerel, and a couple rolls of sashimi. Quail eggs in the shell were great! The amount of caviar, lemon on top the eggs yolk was perfect! My only complaint is that the waiter kept forgetting what we ordered, needed to be reminded, brought everything out at separate and non appropriate times of the meal and was not consistent with refilling drinks. Food was still great regardless!

Please save your money!!! This was my second attempt to eat here. The first time I called to order take out I placed the order and took a walk and went to pick up and they haven’t even started on it 40 minutes later. The advised pick up time was 30 – 45 minutes so I cancelled when I arrived. Since there are far and few choices to eat when staying at the Omni Mandalay I gave them another try yesterday. I placed another take out order against my better judgement and man I wish I would’ve went with my instinct. The prices that this place is charging are ridiculous and the only reason they are price gouging is because this area is scarce for food finds. I wanted a chicken and shrimp hibachi dinner, but they said they don’t offer that combination they say they only offer filet, chicken and shrimp for $ 36.00 and to add fried instead of steam rice for an additional $ 4.00. I don’t know who this place thinks it is but they are not a $ 40.00 meal type of restaurant. I didn’t go that route so I kept it simple and only ordered the chicken meal. The meal came with your typical plain soup, salad with house ginger dressing, extremely small portion of grilled vegetables, raw bean sprouts(not sure why), and very dry over cooked bland chicken. The chicken was supposedly called grilled lemon basil chicken and I’m not sure why because it was awful it had absolutely no flavor and it was over cooked to the point of being hard. The veggies or rice had no flavor either I don’t even think this cook is using a pinch of salt. What a disappointment and a waste of everything. I had to wait also when picking up my food but this time I decided to wait it out and a gentleman working the front offered me a drink while I waited which I assumed was a courtesy for my wait since my ticket was already on the counter but again I was wrong he re-rung the check and charged me for a drink while I waited(pink lemonade from the fountain for almost $ 3). What kind of customer service is that? I didn’t tip either because that was rude and after tasting the food and paying $ 27.95 they didn’t deserve anymore of my money or time. Also I don’t think they have a grill in the back of this restaurant because when you order they say they have to wait until the grill is on meaning someone seated and ordered hibachi. Most hibachi restaurants cook the to go orders in the back. Save your time and money and catch an Über somewhere other than here.

It is nice to find a decent sushi restaurant for lunch in an area that I spend a good part of time in. There are several sushi places in the area, actually I am amazed at how many there are in the Irving area, but many that I have tried so far do not measure up like Jinbeh does. From their website: Meaning of Jinbeh Jinbeh 甚兵衛 was once a common surname among the farmers and peasants during the feudal«medieval» ages of Japan. Chosen this name by the owner, Ben Matsuda, to symbolize the core values of what the name represented: humility, honesty, and hard work. The word also can be used to describe what a Jinbeh-San commonly wore: a double-breasted, short-sleeve cotton top with long, knee-high cotton pants. Although Jinbeh no longer exists as one’s name in modern day Japan, the name will always be remembered as the beacon of the historic era for the individuals who created the foundation of the Japanese economy and strong work ethic. In January of 1988, Jinbeh Las Colinas was open to the public among one of the first authentic Japanese restaurants in Dallas. Jinbeh in Las Colinas is unique because we offer traditional Japanese tatami rooms where guests take their shoes off and sit on a bamboo floor. We offer a feast of traditional Japanese dishes such as Shabu Shabu, Sukiyaki, in addition to sushi and teppanyaki, or hibachi grills. Through the blessings of Jinbeh Las Colinas, Jinbeh Lewisville was born in 1999, followed by Jinbeh Frisco in 2003. On behalf of all of us at Jinbeh, we are grateful to all of our patrons who allow us to do what we love best: serve quality food in an enjoyable atmosphere. We adhere to only serving the highest quality foods and ingredients, as well as continuously improving our innovative culinary creations. From Me: All history aside, today, Jinbeh is good people serving up good, authentic food!

Jinebeh’s service was professional and polite. Parking can be a bit of chore, tucked away as the restaurant is in Los Colinas. The food was prepared well, and served promptly. The restaurant has a tatami mat room, with low Japanese-style table. You can choose between a Hibachi-style dining experience, or the standard dinning room. The menu is a tad pricey, as are the drinks. The food was very good, and we enjoyed the meal. I suspect we’ll be back.

They tricked me. Normally tonkatsu is $ 10 for dinner hours. One time I ordered a Togo, the lady told me that the price is $ 15 not $ 10 because it is dinner hours. I have been ordered this dish here every time I visited and it always $ 10. I bought it anyway because I trusted them. Then I went home and double check the price on their website and it is still $ 10 for tonkatsu. Seriously?! Why would you lie to a customer? I will never recommend this place to anyone ever again.

Very nice place! Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that the menu is a bit short on the authentic sushi items. But what they do have is awesome! Great environment, prompt and efficient service and fantastic sushi chef! He asked me in great detail about my preferences and made sushi just how I wanted it. Wine glass size is quite decent too(so is the price at $ 9)

I guess Jinbeh has two sides to the restaurant. Walk into the restaurant and there’s a fork in the road: to the left is a Hibachi restaurant, to the right is a sushi restaurant. Kind of strange, but I wasn’t in the mood for the hibachi theatrics so sushi side it is. Sushi was decent, and I also ordered the ramen which I would describe similarly. The food filled my craving, but I couldn’t shake the chain feel from the whole place. Nothing was blow me away tasty or unique, but nothing was bad either.

We came here on a Saturday night hoping to get some simple, good Japanese food. We opted for a regular table as their habachi section was full and had a 1 hr 45 min wait. We looked over the menu and nothing really stuck out. We ended up ordering 2 ramens($ 10 each, miso and shoyu; shoyu was more flavorful) and a simple eel roll($ 7). The ramen was good, but the portion was small. Our eel roll was quite small as well, with an unimpressive amount of eel inside. Our server seemed a little preoccupied/annoyed and wasn’t the most attentive. Due to the fact that the food and service was just mediocre, we don’t really have a reason to return. There are other restaurants in the area that leave a much better impression.

This place is amazing! We made a reservation, but apparently it’s not usually necessary. There are about 6 grills with tables which each seat 8. My husband and I had planned to go to Benihana, but they were booked, so we looked for other hibachi grills and decided on this one. I’m so glad we did! Price-wise, comparatively, they are very close. The ONLY edge that Benihana has is that on our birthdays we got huge gift certificates. I love Benihana, but this place is just as good(if not better) and the atmosphere is much better. It was not crazy loud with tons of kids. Typically hibachi order — you get your mushroom soup(a tad saltier than I would have liked but still good), salad with ginger dressing(no cherry tomatoes, but maybe you could ask for them? It’s not a complete salad to me without them!), grilled shrimp appetizer, fried rice(with certain entrees you’d have to pay for that instead of steamed — I’m pretty sure at Benihana none come with fried, but when you upgrade their it’s chicken fried rice but here it’s just fried rice.), grilled vegetables(traditional onions, mushrooms and zucchini with the addition of broccoli) and then your meat choice. I had the filet mignon and lobster tail and my husband had the N.Y. strip steak. Absolutely delicious. One thing though — normally at Benihana, we always have leftovers, but here we finished everything. Maybe it’s because we were just really hungry and hadn’t eaten much that day? I just don’t know. My husband says he thinks the portions here were bigger, but I just can’t say. Either way, it was magnificent and we WILL be back. Only go to Benihana the one or two times a year with the gift certificate, the rest of the time come here :)

I’ve been going to jinbeh for about 6 years. I’ve always been their hibachi fan. They are great with the seasoning on hibachi meal. It’s never been too salty like most of hibachi place that I’ve been. The price is very reasonable & I love the atmosphere at the restaurant. It’s not too fancy & not too casual. They also have a private dinning area for a big group.

Good food, but an EXCELLENT show. After failing to get last-minute reservations at our usual hibachi resturaunt, my girlfriend and I decided to give Jinbeh a try. From the outside, it didn’t really stand out, so we ended up driving past the place a few times(even though the name was clearly spelled out on the sign outside). But once we found it, parking in the building’s parking garrage was easy and convenient. The inside was much different from the outside. It had a very nice, close to authentic(at least it was closer than most of their competators), atmosphere. There were two sides to the place. One, they called the sushi side, and the other was the hibachi side. I was later told that the sushi side sold more than just sushi(things like real ramen bowls) and even had a private room, that you can reserve, with floor seating. Even though we had made reservations(available through Open Table), we weren’t asked for a name, but rather seated immediatey to our table. No wait on a Friday night! The menu was standard. They offered a variety of alcoholic beverages, as well as Coke products, and green tea(which was better than most tea from other places). The meals came with the usual soup, rice, meat, veggies, and shrimp. There wasn’t too much of a wait before Matthew, our chef, came out to start the show. Matthew was a great performer. He smiled, laughed, and interacted with us all. He even performed some special tricks just for our two-year-old daughter, who was having hibachi for the first time. What was great, was that he didn’t stick to the usual tricks that the humdrum, bored-with-my-job chefs usually go through at other places. And the usuals, he did with flare! The onion volcano had a forest of veggies at the base and it was set ablaze by a fireball thrown from his hand! No boring cigarette lighter for this guy! Turns out, he had graduated from La Cordon Bleu a while back, and his beautifully framed degree was proudly displayed by the front door. My teriyaki stake was good. It wasn’t great, but it was just a NY steak strip, so I guess I can’t complain. They offer filet mignon and chateaubriand, which I’ll have to try next time. The bill for my girlfriend, daughter, and myself came to roughly $ 100 including the tip. So, the prices are about average as well. Overall, the experience blew places like Bennihanna away. There’s even a Japanese chef there which, to many people’s dissapointment, is actually pretty rare when it comes to hibachi. I strongly recommend swinging by, at least once in your life. I know that I’m coming back for my birthday in December!

One star for the yellowtail sashimi. Service was horrible, our waitress was so rude. She made dinner uncomfortable because she kept giving off a bad vibe. I honestly don’t know if she was having a bad or not but she has got to be the rudest waitress I had ever came across. Sushi was just okay, honestly for the price is was below average. The place is nice but I feel like this lean more towards tourist because it’s right next to a hotel. Wouldn’t come back… even to try to hibachi. If you really want sushi go to blue fish which is 3 mins. Better sushi and service

Delicious sushi/Japanese restaurant! There’s a choice of hibachi or regular table, depending on what you’d like to eat. Came here for dinner and chose to sit at a regular table. They have a regular dinner menu as well as a sushi menu. I opted for a Chirashi Ju($ 22) and a shrimp tempura appetizer($ 8). Yummy! Chirashi Ju came with miso soup and salad to start and the portion of chirashi was perfect for dinner. Finished the whole thing and wasn’t hungry or too full. Shrimp tempura was fried well, not oily and the fried batter wasn’t flaky. Seating is plentiful: sushi bar, regular dining tables, seiza(traditional Japanese sitting — kneeling on the floor), hibachi tables, or alcohol bar. Takeout is also an option if you’d like to order and pick up food to-go!

I would give them 5 stars if the cook had been Japanese. Sorry I’m a traditionalist and would have liked that especially after reading about them on Unilocal. The food was awesome and it is much quieter than say Benihanna. Plus the have huge Sushi selection. My wife and I had a wonderful date night in Dallas.

It pains me to give you 2 stars, but after last night this is generous. Group of 5 adults and 2 kids that barely ate anything shouldn’t have got you thinking you deserved a 20% tip, especially after you forgot multiple items ordered, ignored the table when clearly drinks needed to be refilled /reordered. I’ve had two other good experiences here so I’m not writing you off just yet. Pay attention to your customers.

This place is amazing. I just got through working out and decided to order take out. To my surprise the place looks amazing and the menu is quite large. They have a great selection of noodle bowls and sushi. You can also dine at the bar. The Service was friendly and fun. There are a lot of things I would love to try. I defiantly would like to come back and try every item. I ordered the Salmon Tower and even the take out was amazing. The fish was fresh and seem to have a great quality. If you like sushi and are in the area, stop by this place.

Jinbeh is a decent option in the Irving area if you’re craving for sushi, sashimi, or Japanese ramen. There are not many choices – to be quite frank – within a 10-mile radius, so it’s either Jinbeh or Bluefish, but I prefer the environment at Jinbeh. It’s nice, homey, and quiet enough for both small groups and large groups to interact.

Sushi in Texas you say? How good could it possibly be? Well go find out for yourself and be blown away. The sushi here is simply fantastic. It’s incredibly fresh, well-made, and the plating is just breathtaking. The nigiri is fresh and flavorful, and the selection of unique rolls is really what makes this place shine. If I had room for it I would’ve had another one of the lobster rolls and the sunshine roll. They were simply amazing to eat and to look at.

Came to try this place out last night and what can I say… looks like I’ve found a new place to hit up when I’m craving ramen /sushi!!! :D We got the tonkotsu ramen and the shiyo-butter ramen. Both came in a huge bowl with plenty of noodles, warm flavorful broth, a whole egg cut in half, and two pieces of pork. The tonkotsu ramen was nice and creamy, the broth probably could’ve used a bit more flavor but it was good enough! The shiyo-butter was a thinner broth but the butter made it a little bit creamy. I wish they had some sort of chili-sauce that we can add to these because all they gave us was white pepper and it didn’t do too much as far as adding spice. The noodles were soft and chewy. The pork was not as tender as I prefer but it had a good flavor. The eggs were cooked properly with the yolk still soft but holding up. Overall, I was very happy with this ramen. I would take this place over Mr. Max any time. For sushi, we got the double dragon and the butterfly kiss. I’ve had the butterfly kiss at Hypnotic before and I actually prefer it there but the double dragon was really good! It had a great crunch, good flavor and the combination of sauces was just good all together. I’ll be back! Definitely curious to try their other ramen for next time!
