Honeymee Irvine

Came here for the very first time today. Ordered the Sweetie after devouring a small sample — really delicious — but I found that it got a little too sweet for my personal taste after a while. I think I got through the first quarter ok before I started to feel like it was getting too sweet for me. I think next time I’ll just order the Dear which is just the ice cream (LOVED their true milk ice cream) & will add a non-​honey topping like coconut. Really nice retail space and seating. Staff were pleasant. Worth a try (would recommend to others), and we’ll be back for sure.

First time here and I loved it! I had the Sweetie one and it was the perfect amount of raw honey and ice cream. I would come back any day! Check in to save $ 0.25!

I hated honey before. But this changed my life forever. The original is good and also the cookies n cream shake. Try and change your life as well.

Ordered the dear icecream with caramel drizzle and cookies and cream milk shake and paid roughly 10 bucks for two items.
Dear icecream — ⁵⁄₅ taste, ³⁄₅ price (for the serving you get) Super rich, creamy, sweet flavor with a great soft serve icecream consistency. You get a really strong milk flavor so if you’re into that, this place is definitely worth trying for you. HOWEVER, for the price you pay for this icecream, it comes in a really small cup. All the pictures I saw prior to coming made it seem a lot bigger than it turned out to be, so just be prepared!
The cookies and cream milkshake was SO SWEET, my mom couldn’t handle it, but my sister and I fell in love with it. They’re really generous with the Oreo cookies part and its like they just hit the jackpot flavor combo despite it being overwhelmingly sweet. I just wanted more and more. Best cookies and cream milkshake I’ve ever had — and well worth the price. ⁵⁄₅
Overall — place has strong aesthetics with great quality desserts. Icecream serving is small though so keep that in mind! You pay almost the same price for the icecream and milkshake (25 cent difference) but milkshake is 3x size of icecream. Would like to see them offer icecream in a cone or something in the future:)

Strawberry milk shake though! oh my gosh. probably the best strawberry shake I’ve ever had. It wasn’t overly sweet cause of the honey. Definitely be back for that.

Cool location in Irvine not too far from UCI and definitely much better than the Buena Park location. This one is very clean and the workers are not only really friendly but also very helpful. Much better being in a legit store to get ice cream than at a small window inside a car wash like the BP setup.
The two girls working helped us out when we couldn’t decide and we ended up getting the Green Tea and the Coffee Milkshakes. The drinks are the same as the other location; creamy, sweet, and really refreshing! Prices aren’t horrible but at the same time not necessarily cheap but still worth it in my opinion.
I definitely recommend the Green Tea Milkshake!

I think Honeymee has a pretty cool concept as a business. I do like the taste of the staple «Honeymee» ice cream that comes with a small chunk of honeycomb and is drizzled with honey. The ice cream is a plain milk one, which I love but I know that some of my friends don’t really like it, so I guess it’s an acquired taste. But I think that the plain milk ice cream with the sweetness of the honey makes for an absolutely delightful combination of flavors. For people that are Persian, this taste combination is very similar to «sarshir» with honey for breakfast, but in a dessert form.
They have a lot of really cute honey products as decoration but which aren’t on sale… but honestly I wish they sold other honey items; I think they could make a lot of extra money that way because I love honey products (from edible goods to health items). The only issue is that the price point honestly doesn’t match the products. I think if they lowered the prices by even a dollar, more people would be willing to come out and try their products.

The ice cream here is unlike anything I’ve tried before… it’s creamy but light… sweet but not overly so. I love going simple and getting the one with just the honeycomb. I love the size of the ice cream too!

Honeymee ice-​cream is the kind of consistency I really enjoy. Instead of the typical overly-​dense ice-​creams, Honeymee provides more of the icy and refreshingly light type of finish that doesn’t leave you galloping towards water afterwards.
Personally, the honeycomb is over-​hyped and overly sweet for anyone to truly enjoy the ice cream. But trying it once for novelty purposes is worth it I suppose! (side note: I never know whether we’re supposed to eat the honey comb or not. the waxiness mixed in with my ice cream gives me weird feelings, but looks cute for your IG no doubt).
The Sweetie would have to get my vote, especially after my friend introduced me to the world of adding granola to it. Ask for less honey if you don’t want it to be over the top sweet (adding less honey made my experience more enjoyable! Hehe) The portions do tend to be on the smaller side for the price, but you won’t be complaining after you take your first bite~
Their menu has grown extensively since the first time I’ve tried Honeymee, so there are many options for everyone!

$ 4.25 for a sweetie ain’t so bad since their ice cream is always made to order and the milkiness of the ice cream makes me soooo happy. I love getting ice cream here because there is no other place like this that makes the milk ice cream so smooth and delish. I won’t trade honey mee for any other place. Aside from the ice cream, their honey drinks are also good. If you want something light, I recommend the honey tea! It is good and soothing. If you’re driving and wants a drink instead of the ice cream, try the milk milkshake — it definitely satisfy your ice cream cravings.
I heard that they have cookies and cream too but j haven’t yet to try it out.

Their Honeymee is very good and refreshing. You can honestly taste the quality in the milk ice cream. The size however is baby sized with a monster price tag attached to it.
My go-​to is usually the Honeymee and then any of their shakes. The Honeymee comes with a legit pieces of honey comb but the problem with it is that it comes with wax stuck on your teeth which isn’t very attractive.
I like it but the price is just crazy.

It’s a bit hyped up, unfortunately.
The ice cream is your slightly better than average soft serve (think tastee freeze quality), with honey drizzled on top. The soft serve is already sweet, so I don’t like the honey on it bc it makes it way too sweet.
I got the affogatto one, so it’s nice to have the coffee (affogattos are ice cream topped with with espresso usually), balance out the sweetness.
I think they could improve the ice cream + honey experience if they had a tart flavored soft serve, or even slightly less sweet version, with the honey. I can imagine that going well together. I do like how honey gets solid when cold, so having that mix of textures in my soft serve was cool, lol.
They also have a punch card, FYI.
Overall, a bit expensive ($ 4.75) for 8−10oz worth of soft serve vanilla ice cream.

It’s ice cream and honey. And a few other flavors. That’s pretty much it. Can you make it at home? Yep. Will it be as good? Maybe not. And you won’t have get to experience the cute décor and the friendly service. My wife had the namesake Honeymee while I tried out their Cookies ‘N’ Cream milkshake. Both were pretty good and large enough to satisfy our sweet tooth, but the price felt high for the Honeymee. The shake was a pretty good deal, though.

My first time here at honeymee. I liked the aesthetics of this place. It is bright, pretty roomy and quiet. You would expect this place to be loud but it is a very calm place to hang around with your friends or family.
I decided to get the sweetie which is their most popular ice cream. It is soft serve with honey. It’s different and not something you expected. It’s kinda expensive for ice cream and they give you a little cup.
It’s worth a try though.

If they don’t open one of these in SF or somewhere close by to me soon, I’ll be super sad. I came down to Irvine for a conference and my whole entire group was obsessed with this place. We kept going back every morning to the point where the employees recognized us on the last day. In our defense, we don’t have anything like it near us and we all thought it was pretty damn good. Weak defense, but still true! :3
Food:
I think my favorite thing hands down was the regular milk ice cream and honeycomb. It’s sweet enough that you don’t need to add extra honey, but you can also really enjoy the ice cream flavor alone if you really want to, while still having a little bit of that extra sweet honey on the side! The ice cream just melts in your mouth perfectly and doesn’t have a super overpowering taste, it’s creamy and delicious! I think the stand out thing for me was the ice cream more than the honey — I could eat a whole bowl of the milk ice cream for sure!
I tried a bunch of things — you can check those in the photos — and I liked them all! From what I tried, you can’t seem to go wrong here. But if you don’t like sweet things I’d advise you go for a matcha milkshake rather than their honeycomb stuff — it’s definitely for folks who have a sweeter tooth!
Service:
It was kind of a hit or miss to be honest. The first day the people at the counter were really nice and open to explaining things on the menu — but the second day they were kind of rude {different people}. So I think it really just depends on who’s working — I think overall the service was pretty good and they were really patient about explaining the menu items to people who hadn’t been there before.
Also, a ton of people came in just to try samples since this place hasn’t been open for too long/it’s kind of a new concept — and they were received pretty warmly even if they didn’t decide to order anything, so that was great to see.
Price:
I think it was pretty expensive for what I was given. Don’t be fooled by the photos — the portion size is teeeny! But at the same time the soft serve is really rich so I think if they just lowered the price and gave the same portion it would be great!
Ambiance:
This place is located in a shopping center right nearby UC Irvine! Great location — the ambiance inside the shop is very cute! Lots of chalkboard drawings and honey-​themed items. I loved the white chairs/​wooden table theme they had going here. Very clean and neat and IG-​worthy haha
So overall, great place to go if you haven’t tried this before! The service is lovely and I was so in love with the ice cream! Will be back in the future!

I noticed they are starting to pop up a couple of Honeymee locations in Irvine. This particular location so far, I’m impressed.
They have just two things here. An ice cream menu and a drink menu. I’m a coffee guy so I went with their Coffee Milk Shake. It was rich, smooth, and it was a perfectly creamy milkshake, it wasn’t too thick that it would clog my straw, therefore it was easier too drink.
On the ice cream side I’ve tried their dessert called the Dear, it’s «true milk» ice cream, topped with Ghirardelli Chocolate sauce sprinkled with sea salt, this one was okay. After having a scoop, it reminded me of McDonald’s soft serve and it appears like it too, for this choice I’d pass. But I have a feeling the other ice cream stuff here are better than the Dear.
I’m puzzled with their sizing. When getting their milkshake it’s slightly bigger than getting them in ice cream sizes. On their wall you will see honey based products but they are not for sale.
In my two check-​ins. I get greeted once I step inside, friendly service and before I leave I get thanked. Even when there was some confusion on my Unilocal check-​in promo discount, the cashier was able to honor it with no hassles. They haven’t missed a beat when asking for my «Honeymee Lover Card» to ensure I get stamped for my ice cream purchases. I hope they keep it up and stay consistent with the service.
I have not yet tried any of their honey flavored topping ice creams and I will be looking forward on giving them a try, especially the most talked about «Organic Honeycomb». So far so good on their milkshakes that won me over.

I knew about Honeymee here for a minute now. So one day my friend Lena decides to cook me a huge lunch during work and I got super full quick. That also meant I had time for dessert, so I made my way over to Honeymee located near the Ralphs on Harvard.
Parking is limited as it gets super packed during lunch, where Honeymee is but not too bad. The store is super nice and clean. The workers were super friendly and welcoming. I came through and ordered a cookies & cream milkshake for myself (bad mistake since I was still trying to recover from the flu) and got my friend a Darling (which is basically vanilla ice cream). The milkshake was delicious! Too delicious! The Darling was good too but I thought the price was a bit too steep (3.50) but eh its whatevers. The one thing I wish they would do is provide bigger straws which would have done wonders for my milkshake. The cookie chunks were getting stuck in the smaller straws and I can’t help but think with a bigger straw I wouldn’t have this problem.
Overall its a good dessert joint. They have a lot of nice items though it is priced a bit higher than expected, its still a pretty good treat. I’d come back if all I really want for lunch is dessert. It beats a McDonald’s any day.

UGH. SO GOOD.
I don’t know what it is about their classic milk ice cream that makes it so delicious, but it has such a clean, milky, non-​sticky taste. Sometimes I find ice cream to be too creamy and cloying in my mouth, and their ice cream has non of that. It’s the perfect mixture between ice cream, soft serve, and froyo.
I tried both the «Sweetie» which is their milk ice cream with swirl of their organic honey, which is delicious, and absolutely fell in love with the affogato, which is the ice cream, honey, and coffee. The combination of the bitter coffee, creamy ice cream, and the sweet honey was amazing.
It doesn’t hurt that the location is absolutely adorable and has plenty of places to sit. They also sell local organic honey, honey skincare products, and other goodies. The ice creams are fairly small but great for sharing, and they also have a selection of smoothies with their ice cream blends. Can’t wait to go back and try them all!

No option for an extra fee charged — just plain out won’t accept it. I found this odd, as there was no mention of this policy in plain sight. (Edit: They’ve added a sign) This would’ve been extremely frustrating if I didn’t carry cash on me, which I usually don’t. Minus a star.
The store is beautiful. Brand new, it even smells of fresh paint & wood. The menu is small (smoothies, milk ice creams, ice cream bun), just as the other stores have. The product was good. I recommend the Sweetie or Green Tea Milkshake. Both items are very rich & creamy.
Service was OK. The kids working were all huddled in a group talking when I walked in. I didn’t feel at any moment that they were trying too hard to provide great service for the grand opening, but they were nice.
