I agree with many previous reviews that all Flame Broilers are essentially the same. However, this one is slightly cheaper than several around the area. 5* in mostly everything. –1* for hiding the hot hot sauce behind the counter

Love Flame Broiler, all locations are consistent. I always go for the All Veggie, White Chicken Meat bowl. Dash on 3 containers of hot sauce and 1 magic sauce, mix it up. BAM! I could literally eat this everyday of the week!

THEWORSTSERVICEEVER!!! If I can give this place ZERO stars I would. I walked in to order 3 bowls to go for my family, there was nobody there in the front. I peeked through the kitchen window and saw BOTH of them watching videos on their cell phones in the back. He then took my order and I went home. Upon opening the bag, the ENTIRE order was wrong! I immediately called him to let him know what happened. He explained that he gave me the wrong bag. He said«come back and we will get your order started». I drove back and when I got there I asked if my order was ready? This guy«George» starts asking me for a copy of my receipt which I had thrown away as soon as he gave it to me initially. I told him I didn’t have it and then he starts ARGUING with me in front of all other customers saying that it was ME that ordered wrong and that he gave me the right order. I WILLNEVERGOBACKTOTHISPLACE !!! Do yourselves a favor, there is another Flame Broiler at The District right down the street!

Another poor location in Irvine. Are all the Flame Broilers in this city owned or managed By the same people? Small portions compared to other locations. Dirty restaurant, disorganized, employees lol sloppy and poorly trained. Bad for the franchise.

I’ve loved this food-but I got overcharged on my credit card here-almost 50% of the bill. Added as a sort of random odd number. A number I’d never tip. I kept my receipt. This sort of thing is foul behavior and it happens so often at restaurants. I disputed it-my bank will fix it. But I won’t return. If you go here, don’t use a credit or debit card. Someone in the back room hopes you won’t check your bank statement. Dishonest. Disappointing. It would be so easy for me to eat here often and write a different type of review.

+ The Works I feel weird reviewing franchise foods, but I wanted to drop one for this branch. I came here around 7pm one night and the girl working was really friendly. We made idle chit chat, and my food came out super quick :) The Works bowl is perfect for indecisive people like me — you get beef, chicken, and veggies.

Here Sunday at 5 pm. The guy taking our order is rude. Who runs out of forks??? Had to eat with chop sticks… Worst flame boiler I ever been to… no more this flame boiler. Unless they change their staff.

This review is more for the service. HORRIBLE! The girl acted if she was doing me a favor for taking my order. No enthusiasm in her voice and I felt rushed while ordering. As soon as I was done ordering the girl was quick to go on her phone. And even though I ordered the same thing as the customer behind me, I got my food after her. Don’t usually like to give bad reviews but I was very unimpressed.

Fast friendly service at 11:58am. Love the small squeeze bottles of sauce on the tables. Chicken is just as good as any other Flame Broiler I visit. Front of house is very clean and well kept.

Came here a couple times for lunch and now can give my honest opinion. Each time I’ve ordered the chicken veggie bowl and each time it’s been different. Once I received my chicken bowl with no veggies and the other time a chicken bowl with veggies and green onions(even though I specifically said no green onions). Strike one. They don’t ask for your name but simply give you a number you have to remember so when they call it out, you can be the one that says«that’s mine!» amongst all the other hungry people waiting. During lunch time, there’s only one person who handles taking the orders and calling them out. Sometimes the line will be so long that the cashier is ringing up the orders and the food in the window is just piling up and sitting there waiting to be bagged. A lot of people wait around the soda machine for their order, which prevents others from getting their teriyaki and hot sauce, so that’s quite irritating. especially around lunch rush our. This place is just okay.

I understand charging more for white meat… I don’t understanding charging me more and then giving me less chicken than the other bowl I ordered with reg meat.

whenever im trying to take a break from eating my heart out and need to slow down, i come here. flame broiler has the flavor and is healthy. you can get so many options! basic teriyaki bowl is: meat of your choice, vegetables, and white rice(or brown rice). i usually get it with brown rice. if you do not want carbs, you can take out rice and ask for more vegetables. or if youre feeling the carbs/bulking up, you can ask for no vegetables and ask for more rice. it could get very busy during lunch time. food comes out pretty fast. i usually only get chicken or beef for my meat of choice. i like the chicken more than the beef, i think its more tender. i LOVE green onions, so i always ask for extras! their condiment: they have their teriyaki sauce, but you only need sriracha. it goes SO well with their marinated meat and vegetables. its a cheap, healthy meal!

My friends always ordered food from Flame Broiler and I always picked off their food. I thought Id actually come in and order for the first time so I came here. The place is small and cute in a little corner, but really clean. 5 stars. The food didnt have much of a selection. I ordered the steak/beef bowl, with rice. 70% rice to 30% beef for $ 7 wasnt worth it in my opinion. I thought there’d be more choices for sauces as well. The hot sauce was mediocre. 2 stars. CUSTOMERSEVICE, I would give 0 stars. Stephanie was my cashier. The menu was hard to read, so I was close to the counter as though I was ready to order. She finished helping the guy in front of me and asked me «what could I get for you?» without a smile or eye contact. I wasnt sure if she was talkig to me or not but I was the only one in line so I knew she had to be talking to me. I ordered and received my food, and the whole time she didn’t break a smile, though I tried to stay nice and considerate bc she could just be having a bad day. Overall, this food chain seems to have potential. I myself won’t be ordering from this place any time soon.

It’s an amazing combo and tastes just like buffalo chicken! I say give it a try before you judge! Great portions for the price!

Pretty good, but the amount of meat they give you is not that great compared to the other flame broilers.

I see these places all over and I never stopped in. Now I’m regretting my dumb decisions to hit drive thru’s because I was too lazy to get out of the car. I ordered the chicken veggie bowl with brown rice. LOVEDIT! And it wasn’t just becasue I only had an applesauce cup and greek yogurt for lunch. It actually tasted good, service was quick and pleasant, cost was relatively inexpensive and it was a nice and healthy alternative to those other places. I’ll be back soon!

OK, we’ll keep it short and simple: Pros: * The magic sauce is pretty good * White chicken meat is an option * Not too expensive for a bowl and drink combo(under $ 7 I think) * I don’t feel so guilty when I eat here Cons: * The white meat chicken is over a $ 1 more and is usually very dry * White rice is sticky, almost mushy * LOTS of burnt chicken and burnt chicken flakes sticking to the rice * Soda machine is usually out or starting to run low on Coke, Diet Coke & ice * Location is very small, it’s better to get it to go or eat outside * Inside could be a bit cleaner I will probably go some place else for lunch… this is one of those places that you go to when this is what your lunch group wants to have.

Like what many of the previous Unilocalers before me stated, this location used to be delicious and probably my favorite Flame Broiler in Irvine(there’s also one in the Woodbury plaza). The meat has become more dry and lacking a little in taste and I think they became a little more stingy on the food. I do like that they have wifi and prices are still about the same as before. However, I never had problems ordering at this location and service has always been pretty efficient and fast. Not bad, but definitely not the best. Also note that parking is a little cramped in this area during main hours and size of store is pretty small.
