New York Pizza Delivery

This is the only time on Unilocal that I have ever wanted to give a 0 star review even after taking a while to calm down and relax.
So to preface this we are in vacationing in South Melborne Beach at a friends house and are about 30 mins away from the place. My friend and I ordered and immediately left (30 mins was the time stated to complete the pizza — so it worked out anyways) we drive to the place pick the pizzas up and have a nice little chat with what we assume was the owner and leave.
We drive back to our vacation house and the first bite of the two pizzas there is a piece of plastic in the pizza — it looked like they had opened some packaged pepperoni and a piece of the packaging fell into the food. We immediately call back the restaurant and ask what they were going to do about it, we expected some sort of compensation considering my fiancée almost choked on it. The owner said that it was «impossible» to have plastic in the box as they didn’t use plastic as an ingredient — I think there was a mistake in translation, or at least I hope there was. After a long conversation with him he refused to do anything, but after I badgered him for about 10 minutes he eventually offered to replace «mistaken» large pizza with smaller pizza if we drove the hour there and back to pick it up ourselves. Eventually we both got exasperated and he took back his offer to replace anything citing that I was «being unreasonable» and that «he was not at fault».
With this transaction I will NEVER return to this place and would not recommend anyone go there
Overall to review the food (what little my group had of it): It was okay, considering we had to drive 30 minutes after we got it, I feel it would be better hot. Very underwhelmed at the taste, but $ 20 was totally an appropriate price for the amount of food we got.
TL;DR — Pizza is about on par with what you pay, not phenomenal, not bad. The owner was very rude and unwilling to compensate us after he baked plastic into our pizza. Would NOT recommend.

We LOVE NY Pizza. I am from NYC and the pizza is like being back home. Plus, they deliver right to your door. We order from here at least once per week. It’s a small family run restaurant that is just fantastic. The crust and the garlic knots are delicious.
We can’t say enough good things about this place.

We’ve been looking for a new local pizza place and thought we had found it with NYPD, but, unfortunately, we’ll have to keep looking.
We’ve ordered from them four times now, the last three were the same order, Large with Mushrooms and Spinach. Our previous pies had been great and we had started spreading the word to our friends about NYPD.
However, our last (and it will be our last) pizza from them arrived watery on top, soggy on bottom, and with no sauce on it at all. Seriously, it looked like soggy, wet, white pizza.
Mistakes happen in kitchens, and not every product will be perfect, and we understand that. However, when we called to discuss the issue and look for resolution, we were told the pie was wet because of the toppings (we told them it was the third time we ordered the same pizza and the previous two were not wet, I used six paper towels to mop up liquid pooled on the cheese), and that he «remembered putting plenty of sauce on it». I couldn’t find any.
We were not even offered an apology, let alone a discount on a future order, or a replacement pizza.
As I said, mistakes happen, even though quality control is important, and they are forgivable. Bad customer service is not. This will be our last pie from NYPD.
We’ll be trying Petrillo’s and Cibelli’s next (we find Bizzaro’s far too greasy, used to be the best around eight years ago before they expanded and sold off others).

we stopped in for lunch and had the special 2 very large slices and a drink for $ 4.50. The pizza was great and we will definitely go back to try some of their other items

I picked up a pizza from NYPD (New York Pizza Delivery) this week, after seeing one of their advertisements for a Monday to Wednesday special for $ 8.95 large pie. In my opinion NYPD is one of the better beachside pizza options. Sadly this is because most other beachside pizza options such as Cibellis and Pistillis (as explained in detail in my other reviews) are downright awful. NYPD’s pizza is good but by no means exceptional.
The things I liked about the pie were (1) fresh mushrooms something you can’t get a Bizzaros, (2) the size, 18″ inches noticeably bigger than most pizzerias that have large pies in the 14″ to 16″ range, and (3) the price at $ 8.95 is much less than what most competitors change. NYPD uses what looks like a Bakers Pride oven, a step above the electric conveyor ovens found in Pizza Huts and franchise pizzerias and a step below wood fired or coal fired ovens. Their crust is thin «New York-​ish style but in Manhattan most pizzerias cook their pizza more well done. This pie lacked any char marks on the bottom and had a thin ribbon of barely wet dough just below the cheese. (I do not like this but it was barely wet and quite thin as such tolerable). The sauce was on the bland side. For a kids birthday party or for casual pizza eaters NYPD is a good choice. Serious pizza aficionados would fare better by leaving the beach and heading to one of the Space Coasts three best pizza restaurants (Fired Up in Palm Bay, San Remo on US1 and Eau Gallie, or Sweet Tomatoes on Wickham North of the 192.
