I don’t usually write reviews but had to do so for HB Computers because I was so impressed! I had an awesome experience at HB Computers! My son’s laptop wouldn’t boot and I needed to get it fixed ASAP. I wanted to support a family owned business so I found HB Computes on Unilocal.I talked with Amir and he was so kind and helpful. He expedited the repair and explained everything about the repair to me (I typically have a lot of questions :)). He also completed the repair very quickly and my son was totally happy to get his laptop back and running better than before! I totally recommend this place and definitely would return if I needed any other computer repairs. Thank you to Amir and his team!

I’ll try to keep this short and to the point. My 5 – 6 year old iMac wouldn’t let me upgrade operating systems and after spending a few hours on the phone with Apple Help we finally figured out my hard drive was going bad. Everything still worked fine, but kept getting «back up your entire system and replace hard drive». Honestly I was looking at just buying a new iMac and starting from scratch. After researching what I would want, it was kind of costly so I googled «Best Mac repair in Huntington Beach». HB Computers was one of the top that came up. I read some of the recent reviews which were very good. I stopped by HB Computers to just ask a couple of questions and get an idea on what the cost would be. I was welcomed right away by Lexie who was doing an internship for school and had just started working there, she was very nice. I asked a couple of questions then a gentleman came out from the back and introduced himself as Amir. He was extremely nice and listened to what was going on with the computer. He gave me a couple of options (e.g., replace hard drive or replace and go with solid state). After he explained that the solid state drive (SSD) is what the new Macs come with and it would be MUCH faster I decided to go with that for a little more money, still a very fair price. FAST is good.
Amir gave me a day that it would be ready and sure enough this morning he called and said it was ready for pickup. If you’re reading this, you probably know how it feels to be without your computer for a few days, and for me I had just started a photography class so didn’t have access to my photos or editing software. Well I picked it up an hour or so ago, plugged it in and bingo… the latest Mac software was on there so I’m trying to get used to that. But I’ve got Pandora going with Photoshop, email and a couple of other systems. Everything seems to be running fine and I’m back in business.
Thanks to Amir and his team, they fixed me up and I didn’t have to spend a fortune. I appreciate their professionalism and keeping their promise. That goes a long ways these days. The Team at HB Computers are the BEST at what they do, & believe me «they can do so much.» I have been visiting Amir & his Team of Professionals at HB Computers for several years now. They have always provided the best solutions for my computing needs (PC). So, I recently purchased my 1^st MacBook (A1278), for a great price. Little did I know, that the Logic Board needed replacing. HB Computers replaced the Logic Board & had my MacBook working great, within 5 business days. They even upgraded my Operating System & RAM. All this was done at a VERY reasonable price. One thing is for sure at this place, your IT & Computing needs are their passion.
Amir & his Team of Professionals have been in business & solving customer problems, of all kinds, for just over a decade now. I was surprised to know that they were happy to come out to our Real Estate Office in Irvine, Ca. We had two new agents working from our office & both needed a network cable drop (CAT6) inside the wall, to join them to our existing network. Kevin (Network Engineer) & Jeff (Network Cable Technician) came out & provided a PERFECT, quality installation, in one day. This included wall plates with CAT6 keystone jacks & shielded CAT6 Cables. They even tested the new cables for correct wire mapping & data rate speed. They also tested our existing CAT5 cables & provided print-​outs of All these test results, to make SURE that we had a properly functioning Network before they left.
At HB Computers, it is just so obvious that Amir & his Team do TRULY care about their customer’s needs, on a professional level & a personal level. They are capable of solving even the most difficult & complex IT & Computing Issues of any kind & truly love building custom gaming systems (from scratch). This Company’s Lead Technician, Kevin, also happens to be a very knowledgeable & professional Network Engineer. Rudy (Technician), was so helpful at the Front Counter also, he has a wealth of knowledge & is able to diagnose any system problems with 100% accuracy. HB Computers was actually able to retrieve nearly 5 thousand photos from my Sister’s «DEAD» hard drive. Two other places wanted to charge over $ 800 for this service (plus a $ 50 diagnosis fee). I sent my Sister to HB Computers & they were able to retrieve ALL of her photos. This was done through their Partner Company (clean room data recovery service), for only $ 450, with NO Diagnosis fee for this type of service. My Sister was so happy that she went there.
Amir takes a Special Pride in dealing with Each & Every one of his customers, they are NEVER an interruption into his «day to day» operations. He always reminds his Employees that the Customer is NEVER a hindrance into their work day, «FOR THEY ARE THE PURPOSE OF IT ! «Amir always gives the BEST price to ALL of his Customers. He once stated to me that his Company’s Reputation is more important than ANY money.
The bottom line is, from Data Recovery, to Server Room Design & much more, these guys are definitely The Best in Orange County & beyond. They recently even helped me with setting up my Outlook on my new Samsung (Company) Laptop & it was no problem for them to transfer my contacts with all my calendar info, from my older Dell Laptop to my new Samsung.

Great customer service! Computer decided to poop out while trying to install Windows 10. Amir and his team did a great job of troubleshooting the problem and replacing what was broken. Great communication with updates to the fixes. Would highly recommend.

Ok, folks… this may be long, but it’s only because HB Computers and Amir and his team truly are AS GOOD AS IT GETS. I will explain my awesome experiences across about 1 years time… Over 1 year ago (Dec 2014), I ran into some problems with my Macbook Pro; as far as I could tell (and I’m no computer pro) the wireless connection wasn’t working well. I decided to take it to another «local» computer repair shop because I believe in supporting small and local business and the front desk staff seemed to be knowledgeable (they also claimed to be Mac certified). That was the beginning of a 6 week nightmare that I won’t go into other than sharing they held my laptop hostage, cracked the back side, and left the screen very loose. I paid $ 100 to get my laptop back unrepaired and desperate because I really didn’t want to have buy a new one.
Not sure why I didn’t do this first, but I then went to Unilocal to see if there might be another local computer repair service that could help… that’s how I found Amir and his team. I saw all of the glowing feedback and picked up the phone to call. Amir answered my call, listened to my belly-​aching about my awful prior experience with the other shop, and let me know how they could do a consultation (they had to look at it) and asked me to bring it in. I went in, met him in person and immediately recognized his sincerity and honesty. He repeated the process his team goes through to diagnose a problem, and the possible wait time (just a few days). I decided to leave it and hoped for a miracle. When he called me, he let me know it could be a few things (turns out it wasn’t the wireless after all) and that he would need to determine specifically what it was and gave me a range of price possibilities which, based on my previous experience, I knew were highly competitive and also guaranteed!!! I told him to go for it. Would you know that he was able to fix my laptop and return in within one week!!! It’s been GREAT ever since (Jan 2016)…in fact I’m writing the review from it now.
Since then we had my daughter’s iPhone screen (May 2015) replaced there and in the fall (Sept/​Oct 2015) I went back to ask about a refurbished Mac for my daughter to use with schoolwork. I had intended to get a less expensive model, but Amir very patiently explained the differences between what he could get for her, the prices, warranties, etc. We ended up purchasing a Macbook Pro (she’s in high school). It came with the same assurances, warranties, etc. that Amir/​HB Computers offers. Interestingly, last month, her laptop just didn’t start up. We took it in and left it (they accepted it graciously and without any question) and actually replaced the hard drive with a larger capacity HD free of charge within 2 days!!! Again, there were no questions asked given our purchase there, and it’s nice that he and his staff always remember us when we come in which makes it nice. I was SO pleased with our last interaction that I asked if he would find me a Mac desktop computer for my home office… I’d much rather purchase it through HB Computers because I know it’s a safe purchase and will be a very pleasant experience.
I told you this would be long… I am thrilled to find a small business that is filled with competent, skilled, HONEST and KIND folks. There is nothing worse than walking into work to a computer that isn’t working. After failed attempts at calling my regular IT guy, I started hitting the internet. I called over 30 on-​site computer repair numbers and no one was helpful or able to get someone out same day until I called HB Computers. Jeff was so kind and professional on the phone. The owner Amir called me back to set up an appointment. Amir gave me a recommendation that was in my best financial interests and I really appreciated it. Most companies would have just shown up and charged me the most they could. Jeff and Kevin came to my office within the hour — I couldn’t believe how quick they were able to get here! Kevin did all he could to get me up and running with a loaner video card that he brought. They worked hard to get me the correct video card because I was concerned about waiting for the part. They made my year by finding it within a day and came to install it immediately. Kevin installed everything and had me back to normal in less than 30 minutes. The guys at HB Computers are kind, professional, diligent, and extremely knowledgeable. I can now say that I have no need to go anywhere else for work or personal needs when it comes to computers. So I recently received a Mac Book Pro 2014 15.4 in with retina display as a gift from my lovely boyfriend. Everything was going great, had it for a couple of weeks already, until our baby decided to throw a lil fit as I was doing my homework on my laptop. He just threw his cup of milk at me causing it to pop open and unfortunately it splattered all over my computer. I went crazy for a couple of seconds until I realized it was my fault for not paying attention to him when he was calling me. Once I calmed down I noticed my computer was still on and working perfectly fine… Rock On !!! I blow dried it with my hair dryer at a certain angle so the milk wouldn’t get blown in there, instead it would fly out to the side. So everything was going good for about a week and a half, I was getting ready to do my homework and suddenly it didn’t turn on. There I go again going crazy for the second time. My work, important docs, and most definitely all my sacred pictures, were lost, GONE, just vanished. I quickly grabbed my phone and began looking for apple repair stores nearby. My boyfriend insisted that I go to a genius bar out in south coast plaza, he said his company would get their computers fixed there all the time. So there I go, service was good but the PRICE. Jesus Lord it was phenomenal, I couldn’t afford all that money. They then stated that due to the amount spilled there was a possibility that it might be unfixable and that it was better to just purchase a new computer. For god’s sake it’s not even a month old ! I know that the milk would cause some damage to the laptop but seriously. I then started searching for a computer repair store in general. Thankfully I found HB Computers and boy are their reviews out the window. I decided to take a chance and go ahead and check this place out. The manager/​owner was top notch with his customer service. He quickly greeted me as I walked in and introduced himself as Amir, I went ahead and told him «my story». He was more than happy to listen and proceeded by telling me that my problem was a piece of cake to his technicians. We went on with the process and I left my laptop with them for repair. I was in desperate need of getting my lap top fixed, he estimated about 3 to 4 days for it to be done with. Amir was so professional about everything, he kept me updated with all that was going on with my computer at all times which left me more at peace knowing that I had left them half of my world in that laptop. Finally the day to pick up my laptop had arrived!!! They replaced my mother board and keyboard all for a fair price. I’m now in my house with my practically still new Mac Book and let me tell you those guys did WONDERS, I have everything and I mean EVERYTHING on my computer. Nothing was lost and I’m sooooo happy I trusted HB Computers for this job. I am dearly thankful and send a shout out to the crew at HB Computers. You guys are the real deal.

I have been a customer of HB Computers for two years. They made house calls when I had issues with my home network. Amir, Kevin and everyone from HB Computers who I have dealt with are very nice, knowledgeable and professional. I’ve started working from home and needed my own IT support. The wifi at home was very hit or miss with lots of drop outs due to the configuration of the house. We also have multiple computers and like to stream our shows.

My laptop started crashing with the Windows 10 upgrade, and crashed in the middle of doing a system restore downgrade back to Windows 7, rendering my machine useless. I called the Geeksquad for a quote: $ 100 and 2 – 4 days turnaround time. The guys at HB Computers had me up and running in one day for less money, and they’re extremely helpful. Don’t take your computer issues any place else!

Amir and his team are wonderful. I have been using their services for 3 years now and they are reliable and honest. Their prices are reasonable and they explain every step of the process. I have had two different laptops copied over and they have always done an excellent job.
I trust them with my information and I trust to do a thorough job. They have helped with formatting hard drives and diagnosing problems on some laptops that were given to me to donate to an orphanage in Indonesia. Amir went out of his way to help me with deciding on the best laptop to buy. He also advised against buying anything off eBay or groupon refurbished so I went to micro center and got a really good deal.
In March the hard drive on my dell laptop went bad. Amir and his team replaced it and any questions I had were always addressed.
Amir always guarantees the work he and his team complete and if there are any problems they solve everything without charging another dime.

I downloaded the free upgrade to Windows 10 and was doing fine until I did a cold reboot. Then I had problems getting my computer to boot up Windows completely. I consider myself an above average computer savvy user of over 35 years, and tried all configurations recommended on several different forums online to try: restore, recover, Safe Mode with/​without command prompt, networking, etc.

Recently my work computer crashed. I took it into HB Computers where they were able to diagnose the issue (failing hard drive) and save my data files. They suggested a solid state hard drive for the operating system and a separate hard drive for my data. This setup is fantastic, the computer is lightening fast.
I bought a WD My Passport hard drive for daily backups and sleep better at night now. Thank you to Amir and his crew at HB Computers, they really did an excellent job and the turn around was very quick.

I know a quite a bit about computers, but was just stumped with my computer’s problem. The manager was more than fair with the price and the customer service was excellent.
I will definitely come back if I have any future issues.

I found these guys on EBAY, I was looking for a battery for a laptop that is a few years old and has issues with battery life. I was looking for a vendor who had it locally so that I wouldn’t have to wait for shipping and possibly deal with warranty claims (as laptop batteries are somewhat problematic) while I shipped it back and forth.
Much to my surprise HB Computerz is 5 miles away and they have the item listed as surplus at 75% off the other sellers!
I ran down there first thing this morning and here’s how my interaction went:
This is a pretty busy shop but the owner, Amir, came out introduced himself to me as I walked through the door. After I explained the reason for my visit he informed me that Jeff, who handles the eBay account was not in yet but he told me that if I came back to pick it up after 12pm they would make me a deal for the inconvenience of coming back. He asked for my number and told me that Jeff would call me when he got in.
Jeff called me at 12: 05 and left a message as I was unable to aswer his call when it came in… He left me a message with his with both the office and his cell number, and told me that my battery was there and he’d be there the rest of the day.
When I called back to his cell number almost 2 hours later he was quick to answer and told me to come in whenever I could to pick it up.
When I walked in the store the second time, Jeff greeted me at the front counter fit the battery to my laptop then proceeded to clean my screen and case for me.
Mission accomplished!
Here comes the cool part, I was a new customer and they didn’t know me from Adam but they made me feel like my visit was important. Amir came over again and thanked me for coming back and instructed Jeff to take $ 25 off my bill for making the second trip.
Jeff told me that Amir does stuff like that all the time as he wants to make sure that new customers receive the best customer service available.
I’m a new customer, I came in off the street today and these guys did everything they could to make sure that my visit was 100% and that tells me that I’ll be an old customer by the time I’m done dealing with Hb computers

Well, they did it again! Great service. I called today, rather worried, I bought a nice Samsung printer for my business. I needed help getting everything all set up, I run my small business out of my home. The owner had his tech guy come (within an hr) wow! Amir was a dream come true. 1^st brought in tablet with broken glass, instead of playing around and costing slot of money he was honest and told me it could not be fixed cheaply better to buy a new one.
2^nd time, computer could not find boot drive. I brought it to Amir and he said it would be easy to recover the data. Several hours later he called either bad news, data could not be recovered.
Plus I need to point out that the staff was great, especially Jeff. When I brought the items in he was very detailed on taking my info. When I called he replied quickly and gave me good info. The best was when I picked up the computer and prepared it for sending back for the warranty.
