wow, i cannot believe the negative comments on the posts below because my experience was nothing short of 5 star. they were completely professional, courteous, and on it. my home fumigation could not have been anymore of a seamless experience.

Center Termite exceeded my expectations. I had termite treatment and repairs and everyone was wonderful. I had a great experience from beginning to end. Andres the inspector was very knowledgeable and very informative. I was able to set an appointment within days and the two technicians who came out to complete the work were very professional. I am surprised to see all these negative comments, it makes me wonder if they are truly previous customers as my experience was nothing but great! I highly recommend them.

WARNING: This company is very dishonest and unprofessional. We (a school located in Los Angeles) had a contract with Center Termite for over 10 years. We never had a problem with them until this past year, I am not sure if changes took place within their company, or if we just finally caught on, but I will make this very long story somewhat short. We had evidence of rats at our school. They set up snap traps for us, but it didn’t help. We asked them to set up cages and they set them up in the wrong spots. They were not responsive after that and I had to call a different pest control company. The new company realized that our bait stations, placed by Center, had not been serviced for a long, long time (perhaps thats why we started seeing rats!), and that was a service we had been paying them to do every month. We ended up canceling our contract with Center, and that is when it all hit the fan. The Office Manager Kori ended up literally yelling at us on the phone in response to us questioning why the bait stations had not been serviced, and why the cages were not set up in the areas as planned, and she made it very clear that they were not willing to admit and correct their mistakes, that all they cared about was collecting our money. They told us they were not going to give us the keys to our school unless we pay them for setting up the cages (which we were disputing since they were set up in the wrong areas and we had to remove them right away for the safety of the children, and they never sent anyone out to set them up in the right areas), then they said the technician that came out to set up snap traps was no longer with them, then they denied ever sending anyone out to set up snap traps because they did not want to admit that we had spoken with a technician about setting up the cages in the certain areas, then they fabricated documents to make it look like they were responsive when they were not. I can’t believe a company would stoop so low over a $ 325 fee. When they sent someone to pick up the cages and bait stations, he also took some of our new bait stations that the new company had installed, and still refused to give us back our keys. There is a complete lack or responsibility with Center Termite’s service, and they will lie to cover their mistakes. You would think after having a contract with them for 10 years, they would be more apologetic for their mistakes. All I wanted them to do was be fair and correct their errors, and they refused. They really showed their true colors, and I would not want the kind of karma they have coming to them for how they treated this school. However, our new pest control company is amazing, so it all worked out. Save your money and call a different pest control company. There is a reason this company has so many bad reviews on here, they are really horrible.

Exceptional service and response! I called with a termite problem and the technician was out at my residence within 48 hours to assess the situation. We had our property fumigated and everything went so smoothly. We couldn’t be more pleased, both the customer service provided in the field and within their offices. Cindy and Corey are awesome! They spent significant time with me on the phone explaining the situation and the course of action. Overall very professional … 5 star service. Highly recommended

***DO NOT USE!*** I called Center Termite Pest Control when I heard rats in the attic. They couldn’t send someone for 5 days. Not ideal but ok. I paid $ 75 for an inspection and the technician confirmed there were rats. They couldn’t send someone for 2 weeks — that’s their «standard» timeframe. WHY? !? Is it so the problem can get worse and you have to buy one of their maintenance plans?!? I asked if they could come sooner if there was a cancellation but that didn’t happen. 3 weeks passed and finally a technician put 3 traps in the attic and crawl space and sealed openings. That evening there were rat droppings in the dining room that led me to the pantry I use every day and I could see they had chewed through water bottles and food bags. The pantry smelled of poop and urine. When I pulled things out a rat ran out and under the couch! I left a message with Center Termites with the expectation they would send someone. We set our own traps in the living space. Both technicians (who were very polite) said to call as soon as I hear the traps go off and that I will likely hear them. Boy did I! One woke me up at 1:30am and I heard another at 4am. I had a hard time sleeping listening to them struggle in the trap. The next day I talked to the office manager who said they couldn’t send anyone out until my scheduled appointment in a week (!!!), which I pre-​booked so I wouldn’t have to wait more than one whole week for them to check the traps. I paid them $ 375 and we have to set traps ourselves and live with dead rats and others that may have missed the traps! THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-​FIVE DOLLARS! I have a small child and it is completely unacceptable that they can NOT send someone sooner than a scheduled appointment a week out and we have to do their job by setting our own traps!
UPDATE: After pleading with Center Termite they refused to budge and send someone so we called another place who can send someone out for a fraction of the cost today! I will review that place after their done but DO NOT USE CENTER TERMITE!

It’s a shame but after the very unpleasant exchanges I had with Cindy last week, I would like to assign no stars at all. They have lost not only our repeat business, but also our neighbor’s potential business as they had asked for a referral, and we strongly advised against Center Termite. Cindy has the kind of personality best suited to a collection agency and would probably be happier there. After blaming me for not having confirmed my work number (not MY job), though we discussed that I would be at work and that I was waiting for her call, she called my home number repeatedly, sent the tech without having reached me, and shot a cancellation invoice out immediately — which we will not be paying. She was supposed to ask the owners to call me, but apparently that message was either not delivered, or there was no interest on the owner’s side. «Family operated» only has meaning when the family has some integrity. When you have nasty employees lurking in the background it’s only a matter of time before your experience with a company goes really sour. Terrible service and we will tell everyone we know.

We contacted center termite to fumigate our parent’s home. The termites were so bad the wood was practically falling apart because we had never addressed the issue. The inspector Andres came to our home and was really professional and helpful, as well as the customer service that contacted our home before and after to make sure that the issue had been resolved. Their service was excellent, and their work was well done. I’m very please we chose Center Termite Control!

Nope. Technician was cordial, but yeah… no.
I have a friend who uses Center and thinks they’re great, so I used them as my comparison inspection. Inspector saw a spot and recommended a full spray of the attic. Report came back with FIVE spots in the attic. Center’s inspector, and the other one, saw nothing in the subspace, but Center’s report came back with FOUR spots marked in the subspace.
You really need to pay attention to this stuff — listen to the tech, take notes, read the report, and DO NOT REPEAT DO NOT let them sell you on the «for an additional _​_​_​we can spray for ants and spiders!!» Guess what insect is the natural enemy of the termite? Ants. We need spiders and ants around. I actually asked the guy, «Did you SEE any inordinate spider or ant activity around my house?» No. «Then why would you even offer this to me!!!»
And he took an old dead termite from an old affected spot to demonstrate to me that this is what they look like, but if I hadn’t been paying attention, I might have thought he was saying, «Look at this termite that we need to kill now — you’re in trouble, lady!!»
I feel like Center is the «You’re in big trouble, lady» company, and the other — always clear and fair. Seems rude to mention them here, but you can probably go back to my other reviews and figure out who they are. If nothing else, always use «my guys» as one of your inspectors.

After having my house inspected by 3 different companies, I decided to use Center Termite Control for both dry wood and subterranean termite treatment.
From the day of my initial contact till they actually finished my treatment, I had the best experience. Kori, their office manager was always responsive and accommodating. Their inspector Andres was on-​time, Professional, and thoroughly inspected my house and detached garage. He did not try to oversell, unlike the other 2 companies and his final quote was reasonable for our 2800 sqft house.
Their crew of 3 couldn’t be better. Alberto (Foreman) was very friendly & informative. The whole local treatment for Attic, Crawl Space, Soffits, Garage and Decks took about 2 hours. They also included a complimentary Black Ant spray around the house. I have one year warranty for the entire house and three years for the treated areas. It was an easy clean job.
I highly recommend them.

I just received my annual pest control service agreement accompanied by a cover letter addressed: To Whom it May Concern. I thought I was a customer, not someone who might be concerned about the service I receive from Center Termite. They screwed me over very badly in 2010, and I later tried to get them to make amends and fix a lot of the patch jobs with wood putty (they say they use real wood, but wood putty is not a board) they did only to have the owner have amnesia about it. I have come to the conclusion that they are not at all focused on their customers, and they don’t look at the reviews here on Unilocal either, but obviously, all of you Unilocalers who read this know enough to do your homework if you even remotely consider using Center Termite. They have an office in Lynwood and another in Huntington Beach. The two Unilocal reviews about the Lynwood location are bad. I’m sure some of the technicians are good, but the owner and staff are not. Stay away from this company. I will not be renewing my annual service agreement with them.

Just had Center Termite Control (Huntington Beach location) finish a tent fumigation and wood replacement. Their fumigation was done by a subcontractor (JC Fumigation, I think) and the staff was efficient and courteous, so a good reflection on both companies. Center TC does their own wood replacement and I am very pleased with the work they did. CTC staff was on the ball with coordinating the gas company and making sure we were ready to vacate the house, so everything went amazingly smooth. I have done a lot of home improvements and it is a shame to say that I get the feeling that most contractors I have dealt with leave a lot to be desired. CTC is an exception. I see a lot of negative reviews, but maybe they have different branch offices.

Center Termites was the second company in offering their services and inspection. They corrected the first company in outlining the none existence of termites plus offer better pricing and service by 30%. Wow, hands down the best, most professional and educational company in outlining concerns and resolution. Greg as amazing all with Roberto leading the work.

Had them out in November of 2013 to treat for subterranean and all seemed fine. Work and a one-​year warranty. Eight months later, same thing as before – few winged termites coming up the bathtub drain. Had Center Termite Control come back out and the technician said this wasn’t covered. He wouldn’t even inspect the attic area were they treated before. SCAM.

I would like to say that Jerry the technician was great and this review is not about him!
The people who run the company do not care about their customers and find ways to scam you for any penny they can. Like paying for the one year plan year after year to have them come and kill a few termites and never really solve the problem! We have had two technicians sent to our house and both times they had to leave without doing any work. First, they sent someone out thinking we were still under warranty and didn’t realize that they read the date wrong until the got here. Instead of being flexible and allowing me to give them payment at that time to do an inspection they said they could not do that and made me schedule something for two weeks later. The technician told us that when they come back out they would tell us if we needed to tent or just do local treatment.
Wrong! They came out and told us they could only do local treatment and I would have to schedule another person to come out (I know now that it is because they contract out for tenting) and pay $ 150/​$ 175 even if I just paid over $ 300 to have someone do a «visual inspection» and local treatment!
After calling the office to let them know this was their fault for not sending the right person the rude lady on the phone did not care and just let me know that I have to pay $ 125 cancelation fee. To be honest that was the best money I could give them… to not deal with them anymore!
We are now working with Surf City Pest Control and they are great!

Horrible, rude, incompetent, liars. 0 stars.

Unilocal said my review was too short, so I’ll continue by saying, only use this company if you like headaches and the run around. Worked with other termite companies in the past without incident. This experience however has been nothing short of a nightmare…

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. I am a Realtor and have dealt with dozens of Termite companies. This company has been one of the worst ever. To start with they do not do their own fumigation they hire this work out. It is typical that the Termite work is done at the end of escrow when timing is short. We scheduled the work to be done so that the tent came off and the work should have bee completed 4 days before closing escrow. In order to tent the house the gas needed to be turned off, typically a termite company will not only coordinate with the gas company turning off the gas but also turning it back on. When it came to turning the gas back on they did nothing but give us lies and excuses. We finally had to coordinate this ourselves and lost precious time being given lies and misinformation from Center Termite. Then after the tent was removed (this is typically when the work is completed) we are told that they cannot issue a completion because someone from the company has to go out and check the work that others have done and do some more of their own work. It is 11 days since we scheduled the work, they did not need to do any repairs only fumigation and we are still begging for the completion. This has delayed closing escrow and the Buyer is upset the Seller is angry and upset and all the only answers we are getting from the Receptionist is we may or may not be able to complete this.

We had termites and the technician treated our condo twice within a 3 month period. Obviously they didn’t do a good job and there are still termites in the exact same spot. We schedule a 3^rd treatment, but there was miscommuncation between the rude phone operator and myself and now they want to charge a $ 75 cancellation fee to perform the 3^rd treatment which was under warranty.

I found these guys on Angie’s list so I figured I’d use them to take care of a rat problem in my house. They charged me $ 500 to fix any broken screens on my crawl space and cover up any openings in my house that rats can crawl through. They would also set up traps for the rats.
What they did was use ugly spray foam to cover up the holes in my screens and they missed big holes in the roof overhangs that rats were using to enter my house. Their traps were nothing more than those wooden Victor traps and sticky adhesives. Stuff you can get at Home Depot for a lot less than $ 500.
I would say that the work they did was just plain embarrassing. At least I would be if I were charging people $ 500 for the incredibly inept job that these guys did.

I’m very happy with this company. I’ve used them more than a dozen times for various rental properties and have always had a good experience. They stick by their work and use technology effectively. They email me work authorizations to sign electronically and take credit cards which make things very easy. They are also very cooperative in coordinating the appointments with me and the tenant.
I had a particularly tough tenant a couple years ago who was very very rude to Center Termite, but the owner/​techs/​office staff still helped me get the problems taken care of despite the tenant making the scheduling/​visits difficult. I’m very happy with them. I’ve had them for general pest, roaches, and rodents. Their prices are always competitive as well and the service always seems good.

This company contracted to do the termite tenting when I moved out of my house. They have a clause in the contract stating that «Sometimes, no matter how careful we are, we damage the roof.»
They broke over 300 tiles and a skylight during the tenting. I watched the crew walking on the roof and there was zero standard of care exhibited. As a result, I am going to have to pay $ 3,000 in tile and other repairs.
I tried to talk to Mark Hernandez on the phone, but he declined all responsibility and claimed that his crew was, in fact, careful.
Just be aware that if you have a tile roof, and have Center Termite do your tenting, it will likely cost you double due to the damage they will do to your roof.
