Decided to come here for an oil change instead of the dealership after receiving a flyer in the mail. I checked Unilocal before I came and the reviews were good so I thought why not. I was not disappointed! I went in there knowing I needed brakes and the oil change. They were honest and efficient. Even recommended me taking the car back to the dealership for a repair that was still covered under warranty. Will definitely go back again and highly recommend them.

This is the absolute best auto repair shop I’ve been to. Rick G is so helpful and educated me on the needs of my car. Usually, car places try to take advantage of women– not here! The service and prices are outstanding and they didn’t take a long time for my oil change and new brakes. Very efficient! I will definitely be back! And I love that I’m supporting a local business.

this is a shop i trust! They do everything, have good prices and perform honest work. they’re prices for regular maintenance are what they advertise. (unlike some shops these days)
I took my car in with 125,000 miles that hasn’t been maintained well, and has previously been in an accident. (thanks previous owner) The shop came back with a few things i needed replaced. after my service (Struts, spark plug wires, tires, rotors, and an axel) BUT take in mind i did not tell them about anything wrong with my car or weird smells, sounds, ect. They actually named everything wrong with my car (which i already knew was wrong) over the phone, nothing more. And identified and explained these sounds and smells.
Being mechanically inclined and having friends in the field, i know that all the work needed to be done made sense and was not an unnecessary sale to make commission. The staff is friendly and hilarious. Would recommend this shop to anyone!

I came here for the first time to get my oil changed a couple months back and I would’ve given them one star then. The person who helped me told me my car was going to fall apart and that I needed to replace everything in my car. He knew I didn’t know anything about my car, and I had a feeling he was definitely trying to upsell me. I literally left in tears at the estimated costs my 2002 honda accord would take to keep from dying.
I gave them a second chance yesterday and was helped by a different person this time, Albert. He was amazing! Honest, told me what was detrimental to get fixed and what he recommended but I could put off. They even stayed later to finish working on my car. Albert is my new go to mechanic. I trust him and the prices are fair. I got a coupon in the mail, but the coupon prices are the same they have advertising on their windows.

Went in for an oil change since they have a special for $ 14.99. While my car was there they checked all the fluids and Rick called me to let me know that my transmission fluid was almost black. Since I was already close to my 60,000 mile maintenance I went ahead and had him do a transmission flush. He also let me know that my brake fluid was pretty bad and replaced that as well. Whenever I come here I know that my car will be well taken care of and that I won’t be up sold something I don’t need. Rick even takes the time to show you what it is that’s wrong and why you need to fix it. This is my go to Mechanic for all my car repairs. Everyone here is very knowledgeable and friendly and you can’t beat the prices.

*update* I went here in January 2015 for a transmission flush and oil change… $ 900 later I had some other things like gasket replaced etc that apparently were really needing work. … fast forward 5 months to my next oil change at valvoline, they asked where I went last because THEY FORGOT TO PUT IN AN AIR FILTER! my engine was filthy. Ok, I was upset but I shrugged it off. Fast forward to two weeks ago (my van had been running really crappy the last 6 months to the point I didn’t feel safe driving it) I took it in to a mechanic friend to get my radiator looked at because it was leaking. He says the last guy who worked in the car (auto repair express) put the hoses on BACKWARDS and it was not working properly… WTF? So I just had to sell my van before it went to complete crap.

The guy was really nice but my brother just changed my oil and said that instead of putting the 5quarts of oil my car needed it looked like only 3.5 quarts. The oil filter was also a lot smaller than the usual. I guess they cut back on their supplies to save money which is not great service. This explains why my car has been stuttering for a couple months. Makes me feel like they took advantage of me cause I would of never known, so be careful future users and check your oil after you get serviced here.

Brought our truck in for repairs they gave us great pricing, finished the job in a timely manner and great customer service! Recommending this place to my friends and family!

New to the area and was so happy I came across a place to be my new repair shop. Came in for an oil change just before closing and they were fast and friendly. Very honest which is hard to find.

I absolutely recommend this shop. After going to the shop originally for a hard to beat priced oil change what brought me back was the level of the experience and training of the mechanics, the great prices, and Rick, one of the owners. When I go in Rick never pressures me to have more work done than I originally wanted but he will take the time to show me on the shop floor exactly what he sees going on with my car. The mechanics are masters, not just one master supervising a bunch of guys fresh out of school as I have heard of in many dealerships. Refreshingly, the shop is clean and looks well organized. Also, I am in and out without waiting forever to have work done, so these guys are efficient. Besides the work quality, shop environment, and prices, the honest matter of fact pressure-​free feedback from the owner is what earns my dollar. I will definitely keep coming back. Again, I highly recommend these guys.

Came here for an oil change and service was fast! They were really great with telling me how my car was running without trying to get me to pay more, which most places do. I’ll definitely be coming back for future services…

I had an issue with my cars cooling system, took it to the dealer and they wanted over $ 1300 to replace the entire cooling system. I couldn’t fathom spending almost half of what I purchased for the car on a repair, so I gave Auto Repair Express a call after remembering seeing their red flags out front of the shop on Gothard. Went in and spoke to Rick who laughed when I told him how much the dealer wanted. He brought my car in immediately and told me I needed a new radiator, not an entire new system. I let him know money is tight, and he said he would take care of me. Within 3 hours he had the new radiator ordered, delivered and installed. Best part? Less than $ 500. I’ve come back here twice since then and honestly feel like Rick and Albert are not only my favorite mechanics, but also my friends, I will never recommend any other shop.

Ok so this review is long overdue. I’m a mother of two kids, husband is in the military, so money is always tight and it’s sometimes tough for me to find a mechanic whom I can trust. I found this place by chance and these guys are great! They didn’t try to charge me for a bunch of services and/​or parts I didn’t need. They showed me all the used parts. On top of that, they let me use their loaner car for a day, no charge! That’s what I call first class service! I’m never taking my van anywhere else! I’ve lived in HB for three years and had not found a mechanic who I would take my van when I needed services but I’ll definitely be coming back here again!

Rick was friendly, clearly explained the why’s of my cars maintenance needs, and helped prioritized what made sense to do and what did not. Extremely clean shop, on time, but mostly felt like I had a mechanic that I coil trust. And they like dogs :). I’ll be back with my other cars.

Went in for the $ 89.95 brake special they proudly display on their window. When asked why I couldn’t get that deal, I was told, «Oh you don’t want that». But it did! Anyway, I ended up leaving there paying over $ 400+, Granted the shop was clean but I won’t be going back.

Had car problem stop by Rick was very helpful and explains all that was wrong with my car gave me real good price too and got the job done on time too thank u guys for sure I’ll come back with any car problems.
