Sereni Salon & Spa

I have been going to Sereni Salon for about 10 years now. I live in Sudbury! The people who work there are very nice, upbeat and professional every single one. Because I rarely book ahead I have had many hairstylists do my hair. All of them have been great. The salon has a main street type feel. It is not pretentious and feels like a neighborhood place that is also classy. Every visit and haircut has been great! It says a lot about the owner and the great people she employs. I like their products and appreciate the consistent service and the relaxing atmosphere. 5 stars isn’t enough. Thanks Sereni!

Sereni is a wonderful salon. I have been going here for a year now ever since I started to feel like a number at my last salon and their color was constantly fading and drying out my hair. Love the aveda products at this salon, the specials they offer and the fantastic job my stylist does on my hair. After a year, my hair is so much healthier. Thank you Ashley and Sereni for making my hair look amazing.

I ordered a last minute special pedicure and it was for the next day. When I arrived, I was sent to the spa and sat waiting for 30 minutes. Finally, someone came to give me my pedicure and provided a substandard pedicure. When I purchased the pedicure I checked the box that indicated that I wanted to cancel the service if my preferred provider was unavailable. I was unhappy that the person I booked with was a no show. I let it go and didn’t complain. Now, 2 months later I get a call 40 minutes before my pedicure and am told that I’ve missed my appointment and will be charged. What?!? My appointment is not for 40 minutes. Clearly, this is a scheduling misunderstanding but the person decides to threaten to charge me for the service. I bring up the fact that I’m a regular customer who keeps appointments and that when the salon messed up 2 months before I didn’t make a big deal of it. This didn’t matter so I asked to speak with the manager or owner. That person said that she stands by her employee and she can’t address the no show situation from 2 months ago. Wow. That’s gratitude. This place has some wonderful professionals but they need to rethink how the front desk treats the customers and how the manager or owner responds. I’ve referred many people to this salon because they can do great work. But for all the money I spend there it would be nice to be treated with more respect and have them improve their customer service.

The nail polish is old and thick and they thin it out with acetone making it goopy and unsanitary. My moms manicure gooped up and it looked awful. The owner was rude — we were getting pedicures and texting on the phone and she came in our face, said she was he owner and she doesn’t allow phones in he spa? What? I’m texting my VIPs and it is silent but she stood there and said she needed to ‘keep her girls happy’. How about keeping the clients happy!!!

A great place! You feel like you are on Newbury Street, except the prices are reasonable. Very talented, friendly staff. Wonderful products.

I just recently moved to the area. I am so glad I found this salon/​spa!

I had an appointment on a Saturday morning. They were busy but took me right away. I have thick hair which is definitely not easy to cut. Ashley spent over an hour on a trim and layering and styling my hair. I told her I was going to a wedding on a beach and she used all the right products on my hair. It looked beautiful and I know it is not easy to cut and style my hair! I will return and try other services here as well.

I wanted to love this salon, I really did. I read the great reviews, and being new to the area, was hoping to find my go-​to salon. But this was the worst haircut I have gotten in the last couple of years.
I probably have the easiest hair to cut in the world — long, stick straight, non-​fussy. I went in asking for a trim and freshening up of layers. Stephanie cut my hair and gave me two totally different hair lengths and layers that do no blend in at all. (See photos) she cut the hair around my face so short that to go back and get it fixed would leave me with a shoulder length bob, a change I am not quite ready for. So now I am stuck with this for the next several months.
So annoyed. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is because the salon was clean and adorable and the front office staff was lovely and attentive.
UPDATE 10÷10÷15:
After posting this review, I received a call from the owner of the salon, Paula. She invited me to come to the salon to fix my haircut at no charge. And I loved the results! She listened to exactly what I was looking for, added her own great ideas on what to do with my hair, took her time with the cut, and managed to keep the length. I was really pleased the importance Paula placed on customer satisfaction as well as her efforts to reach out to me. I didn’t think there were any businesses that operated like that anymore!
Anyway, this lovely gesture, and my happiness with my current ‘do, made me change my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. Thank you Paula!

I truly can’t say enough wonderful things about Sereni. Paula and her entire staff are wonderfully warm and welcoming. I’ve been thrilled with every service I have received both in the salon and the spa. There is truly no need to head into the city for a first class spa experience Sereni offers it all.

I recently came to Sereni Salon for a cut and color service from Anna, and I have to say the entire experience was delightful! The salon is easy to get to, with either street parking or a nearby lot for easy parking. The salon smells delightful (which is something I find to be true for all Aveda salons), and upon entering they have water (flavored with clementine on my visit), tea, or coffee available. The space is small, but it manages to have a «cozy» versus «cramped» vibe. As far as my hair; I love it! The color and the cut are fantastic and I couldn’t be happier. I fully intend to return, and try and book some of the spa services as well.

My sister-​in-​law turned us on to Paula, the owner, because she’s one of the few hairdressers who can work with my wife’s curly hair. She has been going to her ever since, and now my daughter also goes to Paula.
Our whole family goes there and we really love the place and the people. My son and I have worked with Paula, Amanda, Olivia, and a few others. We have yet to get a bad haircut there.

Well I am writing this review before my girlfriend actually has had the chance to go for her birthday, but I wanted to point out that the receptionist Samantha was on point whenever I needed her. She was able to help me dispite my tricky situation, of course put up with my salon incompetence and provided just excellent customer support. I will be writing another review soon regarding the actuall services, but I have a good feeling my girl will enjoy herself, based on the welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Love this salon! It really is more of a Spa, and definitely helps with my sense of Wellness. Welcoming, warm, professional, happy (is that too much to ask?) people there. No more expensive than similar places in Acton or Concord, actually saving money and better services. Love the Aveda line, and so glad such a great little place is nearby.

Best facial ever. I won’t say by whom for fear she’ll be too booked to see me next time! Great environment, friendly, stylish staff. Can’t wait to try their other services!

I have been a loyal customer at Serini for four years. Hair, brow waxes and pedicures. This review is based on my experiences in the hair salon.
I have never left the salon unhappy but never had the feeling of absolutely loving my hair. The quality of color was fine but something was off. Once my roots started showing, my hair looked terrible (the color seemed off) and I would eagerly await my next appointment. Figured it was me– skin changes over the years, age, etc. My blonde wasn’t going to look the same as it did 10 years ago, right? Despite booking full foils, sometimes multiple in a row, my husband would always comment on how dark my hair still looked. «How come when you used to get foils with (former stylist) your hair never looked dark like this?» he would ask. His frustration was that I was paying good money for a service I wasn’t thrilled with. After my last «full foil» in December, I came home still not loving it so I reached out to a couple different people I know who work in salons (some are owners, stylists and my former stylist who closed her salon to stay home with her children). I met with her and she looked at me and said, «your hair is so dark because you haven’t had a full foil in years and there is no tone at all. You have your dark roots and then this bright blonde which is why you don’t like how it looks as it grows out.» My response? «What do you mean I haven’t had a full foil in years? I have had 2 in the last 10 weeks!»
So this was the explanation I got from her as well as another stylist at a high end salon in the city. A full foil on hair like mine (a lot of it and super thick) takes about an hour which is a long time in the chair. But it’s just not possible for it to take less time and a properly trained stylist will do it well in 60 minutes. Some stylists will do a faux full foil, meaning they’ll do the top, sides and base of the neck but literally skip the whole back of your head. This often happens when a) a client is continually late for an appointment, b) the stylist skimps but for no real reason other than they don’t want to spend that long foiling, or c) the salon has a policy that foils are completed in x minutes so they can get more people in their chairs. Regardless, I have been paying for full foils at Serini for 3+ years and have never actually received one. I was so embarrassed when this was confirmed to me by multiple stylists. A full foil is exactly that– your whole head. If that isn’t the service you are providing, Serini, don’t advertise it that way.
I am most bothered because I really loved coming in. At the front desk, you all knew my name. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and feels genuine. Early last year I had booked a full foil and, despite the time being available, only received a partial. Had hoped for something to compensate for the error which was yours, but was fine with the just the apology. Another time I had asked for a blow dry and flat iron. It was written on the appointment card but the time was not booked. Again, thought maybe next time it would be discounted or free but left with just a «sorry.» While I was pregnant, a girl came over to me after my foils processed and took me to wash my hair. Pretty standard. She put some type of toner in my hair and my actual stylist couldn’t wash it out fast enough, saying, «I never put toner in her hair, ever.» Left the salon and a half hour later my head was literally burning. Went back, had it rewashed and blown out straight. Was offered nothing to compensate for the time and mistake. So to end the year and find out I have been paying for service I have never received? You just lost a loyal customer and all of her referrals.

I recently tried a Luxury Pedicure at a top-​rated salon in Worcester and afterward, all I could think was «why didn’t I just go back to Sereni?» (Because I didn’t want to drive that far… but I will next time). The nail services here are awesome, and the foot massage is to-​die-​for!

I have been going to Sereni salon since before it was even called that! The name has changed, but the quality of customer service, atmosphere and products has not. It’s the only salon I’ll go to, and I always look forward to my visits; it’s truly a pleasure to spend your time in this salon.
The salon environment is beautiful, relaxing, and aesthetically pleasing. It’s immediately evident when you walk through the door that the owner and the staff take great pride in their salon. You immediately feel relaxed and at peace, which after all, is what you’re looking for when you visit a salon and spa.
I’ve been getting my hair cut here since before I could legally drink; it’s been a looong time! Olga has been cutting my hair for over a decade: she’s fabulous! She’s friendly, has great energy… and really knows her stuff. She is probably the sole reason why I’ve gotten the dates in my life that I have; she knows how to make you look your best. I sincerely recommend asking for her! The hairdresser staff in general are friendly, professional and I’ve always had positive and enjoyable interactions with the staff and management here.
The spa upstairs is beautifully appointed and also aesthetically pleasing. It has an intimate feel, and you will instantly feel welcomed and relaxed. I would highly recommend asking for Marcela. She has a warm, inviting, and energetic glow to her which will instantly put you at ease and keep you coming back. She knows how to relax you and make you feel at ease. She’s also incredibly personable and friendly, and that’s half the experience!
Sereni salon is a great business, and is well run and nicely staffed. You will always feel comfortable and welcomed here, and your visit will be a pleasure. Try it once; you won’t regret it.

OOOHHHH yeah baby! Went for a skin treatment, wound up adding a deep tissue… and regretted not adding face and hair! They use Aveda products and the treatments are decadent, luxurious and affordable — truly. Once you walk through the doors and head upstairs, you leave the world behind. Small spa, well lit, clean — super clean. The staff is adorable. This itchy dry winter skin went bye bye as I melted away…
The tropical treatment starts with a scrub down with loofah — like mittens. Did I say the staff is adorable? They just transport you to another world. Scrubbed down and painted in mud you are wrapped in warmth. Your skin is massaged with luxurious lotions and you just fade away… decadence total decadence. Then a massage (pricey compared to other massages in the area but well worth the spa experience). A deep tissue got to the «root» of my problems.
Two days later, my skin was still moist and hydrated, simply wonderful. A GEM in Hudson. Worth the indulgence. Dear Sirs — HINT — gift cards make wonderful Valentines Day or Mothers Day gift!!!
