I took my 8 yr old yorkie here for the first time a couple weeks ago, and I was very happy with my experience. I was nervous about bringing my dog to a groomer after his major surgery a month ago left him traumatized anytime I would take him for a trip in the car (he always thinks I’m trying to take him back to the vet). Sure enough right when we got there he started shaking and didn’t want to leave my arms. I requested the rush service to make this experience as quick as possible so as to not stress him out further.
Less than hour later I got a call saying he was ready to go. When I went to pick him up the staff surprisingly told me that he had been a perfect gentleman on the grooming table, which was a huge relief! They had managed to calm my dog and make him feel safe in a strange and stressful environment. So grateful that they took extra special care of my pup who I’m sure was difficult at first.
And best of all my dog looked and smelled great! They trimmed him exactly the way I wanted and nailed the occasionally difficult «teddy bear cut» around his head. I highly recommend this place as someone who adores her dog and wants the best for him.

My experience today at The Dog House was phenomenal. I brought both of my dogs in to get their nails trimmed and they were finished in about 10 minutes. They even had time on this busy Saturday afternoon to give my schnauzer a much needed cut. The groomer even took the time to personally ask me exactly how I wanted his hair. I really appreciated that. It was the best customer experience I’ve had in a while. Not only that, Kuzco looks so so cute. I’ll definitely continue coming here.

The Dog House Pet Salon is Tucker’s home away from home. Since working with Courtney and her training program, not only is Tucker a happier boy, Courtney is now his Dogodmother!
We gave Tucker the two week «Board and Train» as a birthday gift. Courtney has developed a unique program, where she does 1:1 several times a day, but also incorporates the Dog House environment (lobby, play areas, off-​site trips, and all types of dogs and customers) to practice and reinforce the education. Those environments prepared Tucker for neighborhood walks on loose leash, visitors and guests, play time, and down time.
Tucker is about to head back to the DHPS, while my wife and i are out of town. Courtney will probably be waiting at the door.

Excellent service and removed a lot of the stress of going on a trip and leaving the dogs behind. As an added benefit, we were able to check in using their live video feeds.
However, it was a little pricey having to board both dogs for 4 days. Wish there was a better for discount for second pet, or if it included some grooming when doing an extended stay.
Nonetheless — they are located close by the Galleria (very convenient for us). We will be back!

The pros: The reception and reservation staff was really friendly and responsive, and we liked the fact that we could see our dog through the web cam.
The cons: However, we were not satisfied with our experience because when I booked the reservation for our dog I clearly stated that her stay would be from 4÷30−5÷1. For some reason, the staff thought the reservation was for 4÷29−5÷1 but this was never communicated or confirmed with me. As a result, they assured me that they could take our dog to the vet to get her Bordetella vaccine so that she could have group play. However, after we dropped her off on Saturday afternoon the staff called us to let us know the vet had already closed for the day and therefore our dog could not participate in group play because her vaccine was not updated. This was really disappointing because our dog is a very active dog and enjoys playing with other dogs. If we had known she would be locked up for the entirety of her stay we frankly would have gone elsewhere. I understand that there were a series of small mistakes that led to this but if I had been advised that the records showed the wrong reservation dates, or that the vet closed early on Saturdays I could have taken action to either change the reservation or drop her off early on Saturday. I even called on Saturday morning to say we were dropping her off around noon and the staff said that was okay, never mentioning that the vet would be closed by then. To top it all when we picked her up the person who brought her out to us had her in a flimsy leash and collar that was choking her (despite the fact that we provided a harness and leash for her) and seemed like he didn’t care at all that we wanted to greet our pet and make her comfortable. All in all our dog came home with too much pent up energy, anxious and with fleas.

NOTHING but positive things to say about The Dog House Pet Salon. We were thrilled with the staff from our initial call for information to checking out and every interaction in between. The staff are super positive and acted very professionally. When we called to say we were stuck in downtown (because of the recent flooding) there was no hesitation that the dogs would be taken care of.
With many establishments like this one in/​around Houston there is absolutely NO comparison to The Dog House. Most charge to have a staff member pet your dog, weird. I appreciate that a day of play and interaction is part of their boarding model.

I’ve been using their dog day care and now grooming. I am very satisfied with their services, really like the cameras they have so you can see your dog all day long. Its affordable and convenient.
The staff is friendly, fast and very professional specially Margarida who did a great job grooming my puppy exactly they way I wanted.

We have been customers of The Dog House Pet Salon for Grooming & Daycare since they opened their doors. Its convenient to our house.
More importantly, Lucy Faye, our mixed Collie/​Shepherd mix, LOVES the attention she gets. There are many playmates for her!
They do a great job with grooming and she gets lots of playtime when shes there!
The staff and management are exceptional and go out their way to ensure we are happy!
We highly recommend them!

I used to take my dog for boarding at Pet Smart but I realized their prices were outrageous. I found Dog House Salon via Unilocal and now I don’t take my dog for boarding or day care anywhere else. The staff is great and you can tell they all genuinely like animals. I like how my dog smells good when I pick him up from day care. They must spray all pets with fragrance before their pet parents pick them up. You’ll be surprised to find out many don’t do this! You can also watch your pet on camera from your mobile device. I haven’t had any issues with fleas. I hope it stays this way.

I took my 6 month old, beagle mix Simon on November 9^th for grooming and day care with the goal of not having him in a kennel all day till i could pick him up. The greeting and the check-​in was great. I let them know my husband would be picking him up at around 5:30pm and to please do his grooming close to that time, they said yes no problem. It was his first time and therefore he had to do a temperament test which took about 20 min longer than an hour but i was fine with it. Then at around 1:00pm he wasn’t anywhere on the webcams so I called to check, and the lady that answered the phone let me know they had started his grooming, i was confused since i had asked differently but i assumed since i had paid the daycare they would put him back after he was done. I might add the lady that answered was not as friendly and understanding as the lady at check in. Anyway later that afternoon at about 4pm i called to check since still Simon was nowhere on the webcams, the same lady answered and this time she knew who i was and sounded even more irritated, she offered to put Simon back in daycare but at this time he had already missed his time on the patio and he wasn’t outside until about 5:15pm which was right before my husband picked him up.
Fortunately Alex, sent me a follow up email about our experience and i let him know the above. He apologized and provided a refund of the services and promised to look into the person who had answered the phone and given such poor costumer service.
I will give them another try when Simon needs grooming again and i hope that they can be better.

As far as caring for canine members of your family goes — this place is superior. My Lizzie used to come home from our previous boarding spot rattled and distressed — sometimes for several days.
The attention paid to dog’s socialization allows dogs of compatible behavior to be kept together in this terrific space. Also, this Dog House is staffed to a much deeper degree (more people working) than most places, which gives more monitoring and attention.
As far as running a business goes, this place is superior as well. In every business, mistakes are made. Things are overlooked. People are under pressure. When there is a service breakdown, how the business recovers is the dividing line between a superior, preferred business and a business which deserves no loyalty.
The Dog House recovered from a service breakdown quite marvelously. Thank you for that; thank you for caring whether your customers are happy.
You can trust your dog here. You can trust you and your dog both will be treated very, very well.

Hair cut for my maltipoo was definitely 5stars, front staff would be 2 stars, front staff is not friendly, not informative, need better customer service skills. One of the guys who takes the dogs to the back is rude and just stares at you very uncomfortably, if the staff was as pleasant as the grooming results this place would be totally worth it. I want a great experience with customer service and the grooming!

Here is a long story of my experience with this place. Overall I won’t recommend this place to anyone.
Two weeks ago I sent my baby dog to this place for a daycare. Everything looked fine when my husband and I dropped her off and said bye. Also, when I checked how she was doing through the camera, she looked very outgoing and excited. One thing I would like to mention is that she didn’t play with other dogs but hang out by herself, which was acceptable since that was the very first time of getting along with other doggies.
The weird thing happened when I picked her up. The staff told me that she was playing with other doggies very hard and got a little scar on her nose. I didn’t think too much and take whatever they told me since they seemed very nice. As long as my dog didn’t get into fight, then I’m good. I left 8 bucks for the tips and took my baby home.
However, until that night, I came to notice that she walked in a very different way, a little bit weird. She never walked like that before. I thought something serious or worse might happen to her then I decided to call back for more details the next morning.
The lady who took care of my call was very RUDE!!! I just tried to know more about what really happened to my baby, she needn’t respond in that way. I just asked whether or not she fell down from something or etc, she just need to give the truth. If what she told me was the truth, again, she needn’t talk like that. At the end of the call, I said I just need the information regarding what happened. She gave me «ok, you got it. Byebye.“as an end which made feel very uncomfortable.
No matter what, my dog got hurt during the daycare. Shouldn’t you express any sorry or feeling bad?
By the way, I paid for a bath as well. My baby got home with a bad smell. What’s worse, I caught fleas on her body after the daycare right away which never ever occurred to her.
Before the daycare, she was not afraid of encountering people and going into the bath with people she doesn’t know. After it, she turned out to be different. She was afraid of people and refused to go with other people except for me and my husband.
It was a very unpleasant experience. I won’t come back. I just don’t trust this place.

After a tour of your facility, we decided to entrust our little girl, Meka, to your care. That turned out to be a very good decision!
We loved the fact that we were able to use the app to check in on our beloved German Shepherd baby during her time with the other dogs. She appeared to enjoy her time there, which gave us comfort; and her much needed nail trim looks great!
We will definitely bring Meka back for her next doggy slumber party!

We have been boarding our 2 dogs here for about a year now. We have a Great Dane/​Hound mix and a long haired chihuahua that we board together. They sleep in the same room. During the daytime, they each have their own playing areas based on size. Our big dog gets to go outside and run around on the doggie playground, he loves it! Our little dog plays in the little dog area. We can watch them through the webcams, and it makes us feel secure knowing that we can see our dogs are doing okay at any moment.
We get our chihuahua groomed here while he’s being boarded, and he comes home smelling good!
I would recommend this place for boarding, they staff is friendly. This place is not cheap but you get what you pay for. We trust that our dogs are okay.
You can bring your own beds, food, and toys, but just make sure they return it to you. We had one of our dog beds chewed up, which our dog has never done. But other than that, all of our things have been returned in good condition.
You can drive up and see the big dogs playing outside, sometimes our Great Dane doesn’t want to leave!
On Sundays pickup is from 8−9am, or 4−5pm. If you pickup at 4pm you have to pay for an extra day. When you are going out of town there is no way to get there by 8am, so you end up paying more. But at least 4−5pm is late enough to be able to make it from a road trip.

I’m not gonna lie I was worried about sending my dog to a sitter/​boarding because it seemed expensive and unnecessary. But I had no choice because my apartment needed to be empty and he had no where else to go. I got there and everyone was so friendly. The checkin process was seamless. I could watch my dog on doggy cam throughout the day. Plus it was surprisingly cheaper than I expected.
The only thing I didn’t particularly like was that my dog was in a room with other dogs but there were no toys and seem like little human interaction. He looked bored most of the day lol.

I’ve been to groomers all over Houston because I have a standard poodle. When I found this place I was sad that it’s not closer to my house. However, it’s worth the drive. Every now and then I take my standard poodle somewhere closer to home, hoping it will work out, and I always end up back at Dog House so they can make her look good again. I have learned my lesson to only go to Dog House Pet Salon for grooming. People ask me if my dog is a show dog because she looks great. Plus it’s not hard to get an appointment and the prices are reasonable.

Best place to bring your pup for grooming and daycare. Friendly staff, Wonderful owner. Zaza comes home drained after running around all day with her buddies.

$ 15 doggy daycare and they check that each dog they take in has all it’s shots. Maximilian is happy

I took my puppy here twice for daycare and boarded him once for 5 days.
Overall, this is a good place to bring doggies for daycare. The selling point for me is the convenience and the cost.
I spent way too much time watching my dog on the webcam to make sure he was doing OK there.
The dogs spend most of their time in an empty room. As long as the dog seems friendly, I am pretty sure the dogs are assigned to rooms based on size/​weight. The employees keep a close eye on the dogs to make sure they are getting along and to clean up any messes. A+ on that.
The dogs are taken outside once a day (early morning or late afternoon) for 20 – 30 mins to the little playground in front. This is where the dogs can really run around and stretch their legs.
One thing I would like to see at the Dog House P. S. is a little more one-​on-​one human interaction with the dogs. My dog is very much a people-​dog and I worry about him feeling abandoned when I leave him for several days in boarding. Also, since my dog is still a puppy, I don’t want him picking up any bad habits (e.g. potty-​ing inside).
Pros:
–Price is inexpensive
–My dog gets to play with other dogs and has much more fun here than in his crate at home
–Employees are very quick to clean up messes
–Dogs being boarded get to be in daycare during the day for no additional charge
–Webcams to spy on your dog at daycare! Also, if you book your dog a Penthouse suite (the rooms used for daycare), you can watch them on webcam
Cons:
–No daycare on Sundays (so boarded dogs stay in most of the day)
–Little human interaction
–Daycare dogs sometimes spend a lot of time sitting by the door instead of playing
–Daycare rooms can get quite crowded
–Smells of cleaning chemicals
